2861  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Don't stay on with a wrong trade on: February 20, 2021, 09:03:56 PM
On my adventures on trying and experiencing futures trading, I realized that stop loss and cutting out trades is one of the best things to do when you think that the support line you are expecting to withstand the selling pressure cant hold. Cutting a trade is the best when you see your trade isn't going as planned, so cutting a trade can help you minimized the damage from the failed plan.
2862  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would happen if the major holders of bitcoin all decided to sell it all? on: February 20, 2021, 07:26:58 PM
Honestly I will not be worried if the whales dump their holdings at the same time because there are a lot buyers just waiting for the dump. Its their only chance to jump in at very cheap prices, the price might tank but not for long. It wouldn’t make since if they dump their holdings these times now that Bitcoin is already on meanstream, I think most of them will hodl for years or sell just some of it.
I think you should start to worry right now when you look at the market cap, the numbers are terrible and the value of bitcoin is similar, the price of bitcoin is going up very fast and to be honest, if a large number of holders dumped, we will not be able to cut loss or close in time and I cannot imagine the amount of money that can be lost with each individual. So, in recent days, I have been taking profits as soon as possible, avoiding whale's improvisation, this dumping can be a new history page, I don't have the courage to jump in when the situation is unknown
Imagine if Elon musk Tesla bailed out from bitcoin, I'm sure that there are many traders who will be liquidated in their positions because of a price drop, and one of the worst possible scenarios that can also happen after that is big investors joining tesla in bailing out. If this happened a stop-loss can save many traders in this kind of situation and it is important for traders to learn how to use it and to use it on every trades, I'm sure that new traders aren't using it and relying only on manual closing of positions which could put you in trouble if a big correction happened.
2863  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How did people buy bitcoin and other cryptos back in the old days? on: February 20, 2021, 05:47:47 PM
On my first experience in accumulating BTC, I only do faucets way back in 2014, and in 2015 we have coins.ph wallet which enables us to buy bitcoin with ease without the risk of getting scammed in the process. One of the amazing features about it is we can pay in cash! and the handicap of not having a debit or credit card is not a hindrance to buying bitcoin. Actually in our country, coins.ph before is more well known than localbitcoins because of the multiple functionalities of that wallet.
2864  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Remember today's date 19th Feb, 2021. BTC crossed $1 trillion marketcap on: February 20, 2021, 04:52:08 PM
This $1 trillion market cap is one of the biggest milestones of bitcoin and this will be a stepping stone for more big investors to come and adopt bitcoin in their platforms. Imagine if bitcoin is legally recognized by leading countries, The market cap will just show massive growth and the value of it will surely go skyrocket. I remember the days I keep thinking what if bitcoin reaches this kind of scenario, and shockingly bitcoin exceeded my expectation just by crossing the $1 trillion market cap and $60k bitcoin value. This will be a new beginning to bitcoin!.
2865  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lucky Bitcoiner on: February 20, 2021, 04:04:09 PM
Don't want to watch it.
It just reminds me of all the regrets by selling some of my Bitcoin too early.  Grin
Does anyone feel the same as me?

Could've got hundreds of thousands of dollars right now but sadly I went spending spree because my wife needs things for the house.
Well, the good part is "she" is happy. That you can't buy.

I have the same thoughts as well, But it doesn't matter now since we still have a chance to gain or to gave bitcoin to us. Well if we think of bitcoin as a short-term investment, It's not bad to buy materialistic things from our profits but thinking of it as a long-term investment it could make us regret selling it too early.

I also think that buying luxurious things like big mansions is fine as long as you know how to keep your own security yourself. It's not bad to flex your gains in the public especially if you are a self-made millionaire. It's good to enjoy things that you don't have before  Grin
2866  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BNB is No. 4 (3RD NOW) on: February 19, 2021, 11:45:22 PM
Just by comparing the two, I felt more bullish on BNB Grin That's $42 billion compared to $11 billion. There's still a lot of room to grow,
And not a surprise anymore if we get to see BNB will overcome the current locked in value in Ethereum. That's just how it goes. The advantage is always with the bigger investors or the whales that we call. But for those who have been with BNB before this bull run, you'll appreciate the project more this time.
Are there new BNB millionaires this time? we've got many Bitcoin and Ethereum millionaires though so it's kind a new achievement.
With the current market status of BNB now, I'm pretty sure that there are many BNB millionaires right now that just keep gaining and gaining like what Bitcoin and Ethereum whales are doing right now. It's a surprise that BNB gained so much in value over a year and making it to the TOP 3 of CMC. Believers think that it will become the next ETH but I think there's more about it because BNB just keeps growing.
2867  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: if the bear market starts next month on: February 19, 2021, 10:40:11 PM
If the bear market happen they have possibility that ethereum and ripple will survive because people are looking for the cheaper coin than bitcoin to invest and that two coins and possible for them to invest and probably the price will rise again and they can survive to the bear market . But now we are in the bullish so rhe price of the bitcoin and altcoins are consistent rising.
I've seen XRP survive the SEC so far, and I'm pretty sure if the current price starts to crumble, XRP can survive that too. whereas for ethereum, I think the price will only come back under $ 1k depending on how the bitcoin price goes down. yeah, but as we can see, the current bull run is still quite strong.
It's quite strong for some but XRP is not strong. It's stuck at $.50 while other coins like BNB, DOT, and ADA had already surpassed XRP on its ranking. I think we know already where XRP is heading, if people still believe, it could have easily pump given XPR is a popular coin.
It's true, XRP couldn't make a big blow pumping its price and be noticed by the crowd, Other coins like you mentioned made a positive headline on articles that makes them more positive to the market but XRP naahh all I see before is SEC and some negative news about it. The position of XRP in CMC is easily overthrown by ADA, DOT, and BNB placing XRP in the top 7 now and I think XRP will be hardly affected if the bear market comes.
2868  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Big Dump on: February 19, 2021, 04:42:39 PM
of course everyone will do the same as what you have done, as long as the coin we hold has a potential value it is a bad thing if we let go not to hold it. all we will do is hold back as hard as we can if the coins we hold are very profitable, even though there is negative news, we can certainly get rid of it because not all of that can happen, what is needed is patience in taking what actions we will do next.

always try our best to do something with our coins to be stored properly because we believe that the wallet where we store it can promise to still be the safest place to store it.
Holding is a great way to make money, we may discuss trading as much as we want but the real profit comes from holding at the right moment. If you bought BNB just two months ago and sold today you would have made nearly 6x return, close to 7x these days, that is a whole lot of money to be made with just holding, and you are not doing anything neither, you just hold your money in BNB and go live your day without any problems. This is why holding is always a lot better.

However the problem with holding is that, you do not know when will it go up or what will happen it could go down as well, sometimes the coins you hold do nothing for years and then suddenly it goes up 10x, so what should you do, hold it for years on off chance it may go up in the future? During those periods people tend to trade so that they could make a profit while waiting for things to go up.
Hodling is proven that it is effective and most of us surely have an asset that we hodl on like bitcoin. If you believed in a project and has potential, Why would you not hold it? Trading it would be an option if you want to become more active with your profits. BNB currently showing up a big pump within this week because of its recent trend in its smart chain and investors are going at it thinking that it would be the next ETH. If you are lucky enough that you bought some last year and hodl it till now, Well congratulations you earned great profits.

You could do something about predicting where will the price go. Using technical analysis and just researching the project's recent events is one of the things that can do to boost the accuracy of your price prediction.
2869  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is it really a benefit that nobody controls the price? on: February 18, 2021, 11:15:53 PM
I like crypto but, as a merchant and business owner, price volatility keeps me from accepting it. The price is heavily influenced by hype and FUD and I can't afford to lose half my wealth from a random crash. And what would it do to the global economy if everyone blindly jumped in without some sort of protection from a massive loss of wealth?
If you want to accept crypto with a stable value, You should better add options like USDT, BUSD, DAI, and other cryptos that doesn't have the volatility to affect your wealth. Bitcoin will never be stable and it will always have the volatility design that it has today.

Solution- price limits!

If even one crypto exchange in the world adopted a policy to limit the prices of buy and sell orders to within a small percentage of the daily opening price, say +/- 1% for example, volatility would disappear. Bitcoin is currently priced around $50k, this would limit Bitcoin volatility to no more or less than $500 a day.

Here's how the market would react.
1. If the price of a coin is lower on other exchanges, traders will buy from them and sell on this, right? That will cause the price on those exchanges to rise.

2. If the price is higher on other exchanges, traders will buy from this exchange to sell on those, right? That will cause the price on those exchanges to fall.

This means the market will keep correcting itself until all prices are closely pegged to the prices on this exchange.
I think you are seeing bitcoin in the wrong way, Exchanges wouldn't do what you have written here. Bitcoin in the first place wouldn't reach the current price if this ideology happened lol.
2870  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can you say you made money if you never actally sell your coins? on: February 17, 2021, 11:59:56 PM
Should you hodl forever?  Does everyone have a price?  What is yours?   Huh
Holding bitcoin forever makes no sense, You should hodl your bitcoins up to the price that you will get your satisfaction in selling it. If you believe that your bitcoin is worth $150k go hold it until your beliefs happen. Most of us have a certain exit price goal in selling our beloved bitcoins but it just happens that some of us sell at an unwanted price due to some reasons like panicking on a bear season and selling bitcoin on a loss. Before in this bull run, I'm sure there is someone who regrets seeing the price now because they sold their bitcoins early. This shows that patiently waiting for your satisfactory price is worth it, not having regrets in selling it early.
2871  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cvc,Cardano or Polkadot? on: February 17, 2021, 08:52:54 PM
DOT and ADA has a nice price action for the past few weeks and their project is really good. We are still on a bull market so the potential for price growth is still possible even they hit their ATH recently. I also suggest buying some bitcoin. I think it's not late to accumulate some bitcoin now, Support of big companies is coming. If I were to pick I'll always buy bitcoin and put ADA and DOT into alternative.
2872  Local / Altcoins (Pilipinas) / Re: Xian Coin open to p2p? on: February 15, 2021, 05:05:02 PM
Another attempt para mapansin ulit.
2873  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: "BTC giveaway" scamming sites get mind boggling BTC inflows... on: February 14, 2021, 08:34:56 PM
I saw this domain, It is spammed all over Twitter but I just ignored it every time. I really didn't expect that someone will fall for this really. Those amounts that are collected by the scammer were serious and I can imagine the faces of the people who sent in that address. This shows the number of people who are too greedy and just hoping for easy money.
2874  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coin did you make the most money from? on: February 14, 2021, 07:31:51 PM
I profited on different altcoins but most of them are minor profits. The one that stands out for making a good gain is BTC and ETH, I just hodl them up and the value is now astonishing. This bull run makes most of the coin stand out and gain their value full potential by making them go to their ATH. I'm happy to those who bought coins at the accumulation phase, You did well in making money!!
2875  Local / Pilipinas / Re: (BSP warning) illegal online gambling on: February 13, 2021, 08:40:38 PM

2876  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Should I sell my xrp or wait until $1? on: February 13, 2021, 07:44:58 PM
I think anyone who holds XRP even after all of this situation is taking a huge risk and I do think that they should stay away from it. Not that it is impossible for XRP to go to 1 dollars, but at the same time if something else makes 5x profit while xrp barely touches 1 dollars, what is the point of having that kind of return and risking it? I rather go with things that I trust more and that is a lot better and easier if you ask me.

I think buying BNB would be a lot better idea for now, it is developing very nicely and building a whole infrastructure for itself and the price reached from low 20 dollars into nearly 150 bucks recently, so I think it would be smart to do that. Everyone has their own decision to do whatever they want and whatever they want to buy and hold, but I just do not see this one as something that would be profitable for me enough to take on this much risk.
I agree, XRP could face a crash if they lose their lawsuit against SEC. I think it's a gamble hodling XRP now if you bought it at the current market price but if you bought it somewhere around 0.1 to 0.2 you might not feel the damage of the crash. barbara44 has some point in changing the coin, There are some coins now that has better potential than XRP.
2877  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When will the Ethereum Gas Fee go down? on: February 13, 2021, 07:10:00 PM
We will continue to see many complaint about unfair transaction fee at this time. We have to pay a lot to the miner and because of that they are probably the biggest beneficiaries right now due to the increased fee.

Since Uniswap has become a preferred exchange target by the DeFi and ethereum communities, since then the fee of gas has been seen to be very high. In my opinion, Uniswap is one of the factor causing the increase in transaction fee at this time. They are ranked first today with the highest gas consumption. We never know when these fee will drop, but I hope ethereum developer can do something good to bring down the current transaction fee.
This is true.  Uniswap is one of the biggest contributors to making ETH fees high. Defi trend makes the Ethereum network go overload with transactions that caused congestions to the network that results in high transaction fees/gas but we can't blame them because we all share the same network. It's just sad that some people are cheaping out gas fees and ending up having failed transaction that makes them spend more.

Let's wait for ETH 2.0!
2878  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is It Still Profitable To Mine Cryptos In 2021 on: February 13, 2021, 06:39:41 PM
Miners are keep mining so mining crypto is still profitable. Estimating the cost and result is a must in mining. Considerations in electricity bills, Hardware to use, the cost of each GPU due to rising demand in the market, the ambient temperature in your location, and many more considerations are needed. Some crypto mining companies are heading out into the best geographical locations that have low electricity fees and cooler temperatures just to make sure they can get the ROI for a much shorter period of time.

If you feel mining isn't for you then find other profitable ways like trading or investing.
2879  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I messed up and feel terrible about it on: February 13, 2021, 05:52:51 PM
I messed up, big time. I don't think I've messed up that much in a long time.
I sold my almost last bit of Bitcoin I had, (about 0.03 BTC), during yesterday's new all-time high at approximately 37.000 Euros. It's definitely a small amount, close to nothing, especially when comparing to what you guys probably have, but I totally screwed up.

I did it thinking that the price would crash later on, then proceed to spend that money to buy more Bitcoin, but I don't see that happening. I should have kept my balance intact, 0.03 BTC would still be 0.03 BTC, now, in order to buy back I'd have to spend way more money than I would. I think that I might be panicking way too much for nothing, I mean it can't continue rising forever, but the thought of regret is eating me.

I'm sure that you are not the only one that is regretting selling early. I am one of those who sold early but I don't regret that much because I only sold part of my bitcoin at a certain price. I learned it the hard way on the last bull run in 2017 by selling most of my bitcoin at a single price and regretting it for a long period of time. I learned my lesson and did the right thing so now I'm satisfied every time I sell my bitcoins.
2880  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If BTC were to permanently freeze at one price , would you buy ? on: February 12, 2021, 10:18:47 PM
If we imagined that bitcoin turned out that way, I think I won't buy one. Let's be honest, most of us bought bitcoin for profits and its key features are the second thing that brings us to acquire some. As a trader, If bitcoin turned into a stable coin now the bitcoin market volume would significantly go down over time knowing that investors would sell because they don't have anything to do with bitcoin, There is nothing to lose or gain with bitcoin. I'm pretty sure that bitcoin will be abandoned because of its fees on every transaction. I think it's not that sustainable if bitcoin remains at a certain price or becomes stable coin.
