I knew about bitcoin the end of last year and I was so fascinated about bitcoin that I was one week suffering from not sleeping/eating enough because of reading and searching it trying to understand the hole concept, I am so thankful that I knew about it just about the right time.
when I started there were few alts that I knew about, Litecoin and namecoin and PPC and that was all what I knew about alts, at the time it did make sense having 2 or 3 alts, and more or less LTC as a hole different network made more sense, NMC as a merged mined that should deal with domain names didn't make any sense but what ever, PPC had also a concept(if they didn't have the checkpoints...)
but the recent event of litecoin's price and the hate between members in this community was really surprising, I have to admit that my Bitcoins hold more value than my litecoins and I see a great future for both Bitcoin and Litecoin and I am sure that they will both shine, yet I do not understand people arguing about the small things, cant you put your energy in use and work together to make a better Bitcoin and Litecoin community?
in other hand I was checking the ALT sub-forum the last few months, and I spent some time to see what is going on there and yes I have to admit that this shit went out of control, I mean there is sexcoin and there is even shitcoin and there is .. you have a coin for every word in the dictionary. but the question and it is funny how this coins are even comparable to Bitcoin or even litecoin, it is like having money and monopoly money.
Litecoin members and devs also helped to bring Bitcoin to where it is at now and this cant be ignored, the other reason is litecoin was never created to replace Bitcoin, and you have no reason to be afraid about your investment in Bitcoin, the last 3 days I was Bitcoin only going up in value we even surpassed the once gold value, Litecoin surpassed silver... all going as planned so quit bitching and do something useful for the community.

guys we need this stability, I am more comfortable about it now.
off-topic: I started as a bitcoiner, my Bitcoins hold more value than my litecoins, but I was amazed about the hate from my other Bitcoin fellas, I see a great future for both Bitcoin and Litecoin and I am sure that they will both shine so please stop arguing about the small thing and lets work together to make a better Bitcoin and Litecoin community.

it is 22:10 and I am so excited that I cant go to sleep, tomorrow I have to wake up early but alot of things happening that I dont want to miss, Bitcoin over $1000 and Litecoin at $31.
I am a bit angry at my self though for doing many mistakes before, I sold so many coins.... if I just saw this coming, I thought it would take much time, but I see people having big interest and believing in the concept, even my ignorant co-worker is researching and asking me tens of question...

That's traded amount correct? If BTC was worth more the total amount traded would be less than another that is cheaper. Can you do that chart again but use equivalent in US dollars? I'm curious. that chart shows the traded amount of litecoin in pairs LTC/USD and LTC/BTC whic is all converted to BTC and compared to the traded amount of Bitcoin on all exchanges so value of Litecoin trades the last 24 hours in Bitcoin was 88813 BTC (the Chinese exchanges were excluded, okcoin, FXBTC also excluded for some reason) the trading volume of Bitcoin the last 24 hours 103995 BTC you can check your self here http://www.cryptocoincharts.info/v2/coins/graphicalComparison |

Actually, there is no source code for either SHA256 or scrypt, they're mathematical algorithms, they're known, and they have thousands of implementations in various licenses, closed or open source.
I will add that Scrypt is a newer Algo but not used widely as SHA-2, but this doesn't mean that SHA-2 is more secure than Scrypt, basically the wide use of SHA-2 comes from years of experience so it is safe somehow. Scrypt is working well for Litecoin, infact it proved to be a win and major factor for the existence of Litecoin. and it is still serving its purpose. |

Altcoins behaving weirdly. NVC jumped from $8 to like $26 is a couple of minutes.
It's called BTC-E is just 5 guys on a perma pump-and-dump binge. yes they just want to take attention from LTC and driving losers to invest in NVC, TRC and FTC, they pump them so people jump into them and forgot about LTC, I was watching selling walls getting eaten trying to prevent LTC from getting over $10, that didnt work so they moved and started pumping other alts to steal the attention. NVC is one coin I never thought would make it with that enormous premine. So weird that people want to own that. the whole order book was only 2400 coin, it was easy to buy it all to take the attention away |
