I didn't read all the pages but did they manage to get the target of 2TH/s ? or they are still tweaking the prototype ? they still advertise 2 TH/s on their website so they still think they can do it I guess !
2222  Economy / Securities / Re: [HAVELOCK] PETAMINE 220 TH/s on: January 22, 2014, 07:47:30 PM
ok it seems that I went out of subject so my posts were deleted, sorry and I wish you best of luck...
2223  Economy / Speculation / Re: Daily USD/BTC - Most Accurate BTC-e predictions on: January 22, 2014, 11:05:16 AM
Is it really need to judge Op & dissect into his personality e.t.c , if his predictions are accurate & help us earn btc or $ then good or else ...

who did judge his personality ? how what I wrote (if you meant me) was even related to the OP personality ?

2226  Economy / Speculation / Re: Daily USD/BTC - Most Accurate BTC-e predictions on: January 22, 2014, 10:00:51 AM
I didn't read all the posts, but I see users talking about the accurate predictions of the OP, looking to his stats beside being an early adopter (2010) he seems to spend allot of time on Indian sub-forums or related threads to India, which means that he is from India or an enthusiastic of its culture.

that been said, India is a poor country with a very rich culture, one of the most attractive things are the Vedas, you can learn allot of things, so my silly guess is that he uses astrology in his predictions and if this is true he has to be a kick ass astrologist Wink

I cant say that I am believer in astrology, but the relation between it and between astronomy doesn't seem to be a coincidence, I didn't spend allot of time to study this subject for one reason, assuming that astrology gives us the possibility of "predicting" the future and knowing things that might happen keeps me away of it, I like to live my unpredictable life and be surprised with every event, "knowing" about things and wait for them to happen or try to trick the universe doesn't work for me.... my faith is my destiny, this is what I believe.

sorry for the off-topic post, but I just wanted to point that out Wink

2229  Economy / Speculation / Re: In 2018 bitcoin might collapse... on: January 21, 2014, 04:36:54 PM
...under it's own weight.

The current blockchain is already over 13 GB, and the yearly growth is about 3x. And this while the transaction speed is limited, to delay this excessive growth.
If bitcoin will see a larger adoption, then a minimum of 3x blockchain growth per year is reasonable, but possibly more.
By 2018, 4 years from now, it may reach 13 * 3 ^ 4 = 1TB (one terabyte), which is going to be too much IMO, and still growing fast.
Possible solutions for Average Joe would be storing the blockchain on an external HDD, that's going to be purchased with the latest version of the blockchain,
because downloading without recoverable errors something this large is going to be tricky and take a long time (about 30 hours at 100 Mbps).
Pruning the blockchain might open the door for double-spending, and I haven't yet seen a serious attempt at this. It might also require some centralization.

Uber-bulls reading this will dismiss it as another bear attempt to scare the market, but I think it's a serious problem and should be addressed asap.

I will add you to the list of people who did not read the satoshi white paper, we had the same discussion a couple of days ago :

7. Reclaiming Disk Space

Once the latest transaction in a coin is buried under enough blocks, the spent transactions before it can be discarded to save disk space. To facilitate this without breaking the block's hash, transactions are hashed in a Merkle Tree [7][2][5], with only the root included in the block's hash. Old blocks can then be compacted by stubbing off branches of the tree. The interior hashes do not need to be stored...

- Otherwise you do not have to worry about disk space, in a decade we saw technology adapting crazy fast, disk capacity went crazy, I still remember my PC having only 20GB disk in 1999, the one before had only 1GB, today I have 4TB, and 1TB is the basic that you get with your computer and an upgrade of 3TB is also affordable.

what most worries me is the time it takes to download the whole blockchain, it gets bigger and slower, but this is not a problem, Bitcoin is a programmable money that can be adapted when needed....

Ok, yes we don't have the thrill of $100,- increase in a day now. But this consolidation period is very very healthy for bitcoin, i'm happy with it. Just be patient the rally will resume one day. Quit your screen and do something productive for bitcoin.

+1
one of the things I like about this forum, ask not what bitcoin can do for you but what can you do for it Wink nailed it hahahahahah

sorry guys, at the moment I do not really have any idea about the directions, most of the time I feel so bullish, then I start digging and questioning whole situation, then I decide to just forget and do something productive instead and let the market do what ever, I am done daily trading anyway, I just like to read what people thinks and argue a bit with them Wink (certainly not a troll)

meanwhile, I have the urge to learn python, it is one of my goals, years of IT administration made me a really lazy ass, I don't even remember when was the last time I wrote a useful script, now it is time to start thinking about doing something like that beside my daily job. maybe write something that users can benefit all of ? just be productive as the post above suggest Smiley

Zdravo vsem,

I really cant buy that Huobi have such large volume, so beside the 0% fee how people do deposits and withdrawals ? I cant figure out why BTCChian went from the biggest exchange in the world to one with very low volume, because of the whole china situation Huobi became the biggest exchange, for what reason ?

any one of you here have any confirmed information about this ?

you silly boy. not only do you gamble your money, now you gamble your ego.

read his previous post at me.....then u may understand where I am coming from...

....and thing is, when I pit my ego against the ego of 'The Bitcoin Nutter', sometimes I get slapped down.....but most of the time, I don't. Most of the time, I am right and they are wrong.

The Bitcoin nutter is a simple creature and not hard to outwit.

really matt we are trying to help, you are not in the right mind frame for a trader. I sense you have a lot at stake if this doesn't go your way.
margin calls pay my bills.

Not sure what this is about... that he's leveraging? Or that he thinks the we're in an overall downtrend? Because pointing out about the former that it is quite risky for a volatile beast like Bitcoin makes sense to me, but I see nothing wrong with the latter statement.

this is what he didnt like when he said that Bitcoin is a bubble, and he would not pay 3 or 4 or 5 times more than the "real" price of a bitcoin, but then he didnt like my answer, from there on you are up to date

I don't predict the future, and I am no TA expert, but I can check the adoption rate and the madness going around Bitcoin now, we never had this attention, we never had businesses racing to adopt Bitcoin we never had these amount of startups we never had all of the new kind of projects leading building around Bitcoin infrastructure and we certainly never had this amount of new users.

I do not think that the infrastructure reflect the price of Bitcoin yet, but as always this will follow and catch up faster than you think, I think a smart person in doubt of the current price could just buy in small batches to average up and make sure to not miss ......

so gox bux is becoming worthless, $150 between gox and all exchanges.... and most of the action is happening there...

good, stay out, and don't come to cry later "If" the price will start rising and you miss the train....

Depending on how things turn out from here, your name might well get added to the illustrious list of idiots who told me I was making a bit mistake by selling $1100 coins at $1000 range.

...and lets face it, if was Dec 6th, and I was selling or going short or whatever, like a broken record player, you would be making the exact same noises wouldn't you (and therefore your not really worth listening to).

Dont deny it cos I can easily check your historical posts.

Yup...I came to Bitcoin cos I want a long term investment with meaningful returns.

I am a potential investor (as opposed to trader which I am currently doing), but I simply cannot throw my hard earned fiat at Bitcoin at these prices, in these market conditions, and with these charts.

I shall avoid the temptation to post the classic bubble-new paradigm-final capitulation graphic, but it is so true and I have seen it in so many other asset price graphs, not least of all in precious metals in which I invested and made fantastic initial gains, but because I held and held and held, I am now underwater on across the bold.

People may argue 'but Bitcoin is different!'

Bullshit, it is just the exact same thing getting played in hyper fast forward mode and even looking to Bitcoin's own history, in the two previous crash scenarios , it took months for events to finally play out with considerably lower prices found after a period relatively stable downtrending.

Yet here we are, with prices basically 80% of the ATH, and everyone thinks everything is all done and dusted and it's all trending followed by inevitable upside from here?

If I could really bring myself to think that, then I would be going all in, long, right now, because that is my ultimate goal......but I aint paying three, or four, or five, or god knows how multiple times more for my Bitcoins than I have to.

good, stay out, and don't come to cry later "If" the price will start rising and you miss the train....

@mmitech We definitely need bitcoin.dz, enough with the funny money Grin

interesting, the .dz part makes me wonder if you know me ? where are you from ?

You mentioned in an early post that you were there recently... Me too

even more interesting, what were you doing there ? I am originally from Algeria Wink my parents lives there now.... in fact bitcoin.dz is not a bad idea, just imagine people with bags of money struggling with getting money out of the country when they get introduced to bitcoin.

last time I was there no one had an Idea about what Bitcoin was, although I did a research and it was mentioned a couple of times on Le Figaro and Le matin in 2011, to be honest I was thinking about this project for some time now I just dont know how to get around it...  "like they say, Go big or go home"

Well, I grew up there. Let's take this discussion to another thread, or private ...

PM me with more info Wink
