1941  Economy / Speculation / The end of the bubble... or is it ? on: February 26, 2014, 06:25:01 PM
I know that most of you wants to move on, and most of us seems to agree about the end of the bubble but stop for a moment and remember all the Goxing, I know that people who lost funds are so pissed off and I also know that known Bitcoiners and big holders came out the last couple of day asking us to just forget about Gox and the lost funds...

I am thinking about this for a couple of days, but to be honest, until we found out what will happen to gox and what will happen to the funds and where they are...

disclaim: I have not lost any single satoshi neither a cent there and I really feel for everyone who did, but I cant have peace without knowing what really happened, I cant buy what they are telling us, it just doesn't make any sense.

in other Bitcoin related matter, Blockchain.info is being DDOS-ed and in there were 9 found blocks in only 20 minutes, how odd is that ?

9 found blocks in only 20 minutes from different pool: nothing to see here, it just means it will be more and more difficult to mine bitcoin

I didn't mean "hey there is a problem..."  read my question: how odd is that ?  possible answer : 1- huh, what a luck !  2- wow that difficulty is going to sky rocket 3- well it happened many times...

Hi Otoh, i was enjoying the pleasures of the sweet skin of my girlfriend one day and i saw the moon shine through the window just as i exploded in her, i thought it was funny as there was no moon light just before that. As i took off the condom to go wash up i looked at my laptop's screen and i saw the news ticker tell me that Mark Karpeles was walking in tokyo holding a frappucino, Bitcoin's price tanked 20% right after that.

Do you think the movement of the moon that day, the timing of my ejaculation, Mark Karpeles and his frappucino are all connected? Do you think these events induced a butterfly effect that forged a new time-space in the universe that cause Bitcoin's price to crash?

Also, do you think i should be worried that my girlfriend would cheat on me with Jupiter ? (I hear Human-to-planet sex is the new trend)

Would love to know your feedback, as i got a flashback once i read your latest post thanks.

I know what you need... a life is what you need.

It is going down - 500 to be tested soon.

Reason: we are not that much below the long-term trend, so given the sentiment, we are "hanging in the air" when the solid ground is in 400-500, below that is a steal and above that is hopes.

what is currently the long term trend??

around $680 right?

I think it is 530 520...
1946  Economy / Speculation / Re: rpietila Wall Observer - the Quality TA Thread ;) on: February 26, 2014, 01:08:32 PM
I am following Risto, Mat and TERA predictions, and I cant seem to ignore these opinions, all of them have some validity and make some sense, but IMHO the market needs few days to decide.... it is really early to judge now...

each time interval is showing a different direction, now ignore 1h,2h,4h time intervals as they are for daily trading (quick in and out):

- judging from the 1d chart, the trend will reverse and the market will turn bullish soon. and the indicators are negative there
- judging from the 3d chart, there is still some room for going down, but the indicators are bearly negative (only 12 period is negative)
- judging from the 1w chart, we are just entering a bear market but indicators are really positive (both)

So if I you are planing on daily trading and making quick 2-5% profits (BTC term), the 4h chart is so great and predictions seems to be easier, but deciding which direction we are heading mid-term is really hard, this needs time and volume, we need the volume to stay at what it is at now or at least close to that, and after few days it will be clearer... although the opportunities for making small profits here and there can sum up and make some overall profit, but the risk is greater, in other words yes the big shot of 400 was a great opportunity that I cant seem to see repeating at the time being(except of there will be huge bad bad news).

I would like you to add some reviews on this opinion, what do you think and why ?
1947  Economy / Speculation / Re: rpietila Wall Observer - the Quality TA Thread ;) on: February 26, 2014, 11:47:26 AM
The move has been stunted for the night. capped by 610, I think we will test the 500 level again. this little bull run was too steep.

I actually did sell some, hard to believe it has steam to raise above 600 now. The train is not leaving anybody, but the tide has turned. 500 here we come!

just make sure to not ignore the 1d chart, indicators are showing that there will be a crossover in a couple of days with high volume it could be a nice reverse, I made a fine profit from yesterday and I am not risking it for few % ...

we were in a long bear market, this could turn out to a long bull market in few days, of course there will be waves, allot of them, but I am not risking this one...it just not worth it...

1948  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 26, 2014, 07:24:04 AM
Good morning, As I said yesterday, from looking to the 4h chart there is now a crossover which indicate to a rally up in the next few days, the market will be bullish, I still cant figure out the top of this race but the good news is that the 2nd bottom is finally forming which means that we are leaving the bubble behind us and we will start a new cycle...

all we need is a positive MACD and few bullish days and we are over with the bubble thing....

1950  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 25, 2014, 02:37:58 PM
so what's a bad news for Charlie Shrem ? WWIII ?

BTW I am still not buying the whole Gox situation, it is hard to lose 10K bitcoin and even harder to lose 50K Bitcoin without noticing but losing all the just cant be sold to the public, something really big is happening, and I would say for long time now, this didn't happen in just few weeks.

I am really waiting to see the real story behind all of this.
1951  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 25, 2014, 01:19:53 PM
No thats off IRC no reddit

mmmm I would say it is fake but I dont know which account he owns as I never paid attention, but if it is the same guy from reddit then it is fake...

Edit: which IRC node BTW ? Gox node is not working for me... is it working for anyone? I tried to join few times but I couldn't.
1952  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 25, 2014, 01:17:29 PM
<+ne0futur> seriously i fear the 750k could be true

says Mark's 10 yr old friend and Op on irc

I assume that will be MtGox defense in court..

that is a fake account of neofutur, note that user have 0 instead of O, and the account was created few hours ago only, this is the real account http://www.reddit.com/user/neofutur
1953  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 25, 2014, 01:15:37 PM
So everyone on the fondation was aware about that long time ago ??
Same for the guy dumping 10K yesterday ?
Same for this guy, moving a shitload of old coin

I saw that amount of days destroyed 2 weeks ago, and I didnt know what to think about !!! but this is huge, could it be the Gox lost fund ? of course if they really lost the funds...
1954  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 25, 2014, 01:10:18 PM
Why would somebody actually buy Gox right now ? It is a bad investment. Their brand is worth $-1 right now.

I would buy it, and re-code most of the site, it is a free boost, gox is known and when people know that owners changes they will give you a chance, in other wise I wont be buying the site but I would be buying customers...

now if we only knew if they really lost the coins...
1955  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 25, 2014, 01:07:04 PM
From a sane point of view, a million customer company just doesn't VANISH out of thin air and hopes it gets away with it. No speculative intentions here but I 'm willing to wait some more and won't panic at the moment.

Cheers.

you missed the opportunity part anyway, any kind of panic now is just plaint stupid...
1956  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 25, 2014, 12:16:37 PM
on theblock.info chain statement comment section (of course the comment it is fake) http://blog.blockchain.info/2014/02/25/blockchains-reaction/

1957  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 25, 2014, 12:02:38 PM

Here's a bullish thought:

Total and sudden Gox insolvency (fraudulent or not, doesn't matter for now) is the best way this situation could have resolved.

740k coins, *extremely cheap* coins compared to the other exchanges, won't hit the market once Gox re-opens as traders arbitrage the shit out of 500+ prices on Bitstamp.

Sure, those coins will hit the market at some point, when Mark wants to buy that cozy Carribean private island, but they have to be laundered first of course.

For now, it's a big relief that the flood gates of cheap goxbux cannot be opened anymore.

My theory:

from working in IT field for many years now, I have a feeling that gox had only a Data Base with entries of existing coins and never had real coins, let me explain, they lost the coins/funds long time ago and they had only a data of who owns what and they kept the exchange running for the whole year thinking about a way to solve that.... we should know that when they stopped/limited their FIAT withdrawals.

I dont know what to believe anymore, but I don't think it was a bank issue even with the seizure of the 5 millions in their US account, they made 10 times number from trading fees only but they couldn't pay customers anyway, a real and easy solution would be to close their bank account an open with another bank, and they could discuss terms with the new bank companies do that all the time and I am sure many banks would like a peace of that pie...

Gox was the pure definition of a Ponzi scheme, they pay old customers with new customers fund and this is how they run this exchange for so long, this is my theory...

1958  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 25, 2014, 11:50:20 AM
Guys

Take the opportunity to pull at least some of the BTC you bought today off the exchanges and into cold storage.

Now.

The exchanges can have my fiat but I'm taking my coins out.
Cold storage was originally my plan but the sale at $520 for a 30% profit at a sudden and obviously overbought level, assisted with some speculation about a comment line on a source code on mtgox, was too good to pass up. Once I rebuy on the next MACD cross THEN I will go cold storage.

the next MACD cross of 4h will bring the price up and not down, if you trade on the 15m or 1h chart then you have to be really crazy, although I am wondering if you are making any profit by trading on the 15m or 1h chart after paying all fees and if it is really worth it ?
1959  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 25, 2014, 11:12:51 AM
The recovery is maxed out for now. It's going to take at least a day to consolidate and break $520 if not longer.

The market is far from rational right now. I doubt this will be our last time going past $500 again. The fact that this recovery is occurring at super speed is shocking.

We'll be sub $400 within days. We'll be testing $300 before we start meaningful sustained upwards movement again.

I would spread the risk in your place, consider both case scenarios just to be safe.... but lets see how will that work out.
1960  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 25, 2014, 10:52:16 AM
Why are we going up in the first place? Almost at the same level as before gox shutdown and that is without any good news. Should probably short this but I'm too pussy to sell in this sharp uptrend

the chart say we most go up, and gox shutting down is a good news to me Wink
