Smiley Many thanks for the positive feedback Smiley

Bitcoin's Horoscope for Thursday, February 27th

What goes up must come down. Or so they say. That, though, is no reason to stay on the ground. And anyway, if it is true, so is the opposite. Once you reach bottom, the only place to go is up. That's no reason, though, to descend to some deeply depressing depth in order to test the assertion. What matters now, is not whether you are high or low. Nor, frankly, does it matter whether your path through life is rising or falling. What matters is the real reason you are making a particular choice. If that is good, all will be well.

You seem preoccupied with money matters at the moment, but all to good end. This is the time to be singing for your supper. The more you talk the more you will earn. You will certainly not be keen to deprive yourself, but if you can force yourself to look at the paperwork and get the budget in order, then you can spend with a clear conscience. Then you'll be able to give yourself things that smell nice, feel nice, taste nice, look nice.

Interesting, this is one of the few times I understand your encrypted posts, so we will go down but we will shoot up and it is maybe good for Bitcoin !!! lets see how that plays out...

It's not hard to imagine the most likely scenario. At some point, Mark lost some coins. They were either stolen or lost through bad coding/accounting. He told nobody about it and thought he could either get them back or make up for the missing coins in some other way. Some attempts to recover or replace them we're partially successful and other attempts made the problem even worse. As the situation got more desperate, Mark resorted to greater and greater violations of ethical behavior until he could no longer even operate as a fractional reserve due to cash flow completely drying up.

It is very likely that the vast majority of depositors funds are gone forever, and not just the crypto. The willybot could have very plausibly been Mark buying goxBTC at ABOVE market rates just to keep the exchange operating and BTC withdrawals functioning until a miracle occurred and the lost coins were recovered, or until a new source of revenue could be found to sustain operations and keep the charade going.  Mark's failure to own up to his mistakes turned a substantial but survivable problem into a colossal life-destroying disaster for him and many of his customers. Despite this, he is STILL not owning up even though nobody but the most deluded wishful thinkers believe their is any hope of recovery. At first he didn't ask for help out of pride or embarrassment, but now he must subconsciously know that there is no way out. Denial is all he has left. In this context, his behavior makes sense. It is the only context in which his behavior makes sense.

There is no coming back for Gox. The damage is catastrophic. The point of no return happened months ago if not years.

we don't wish for gox to come back, we wish for funds to be recovered, it is a really bad advertisement for Bitcoin at this point, all the progress will be crushed with this, regulators will want to hit hard anyways... and some people lost life changing amount of funds.

No, I didn't lose any funds in gox BS, but I feel for those who did and I wish for this to be fixed.
1923  Economy / Speculation / Re: rpietila Wall Observer - the Quality TA Thread ;) on: February 26, 2014, 10:52:31 PM
in other side note, if some how Mark the MagicalTux does some magic and recover the key (assuming this is the case) how do you think this will effect the price:

1- confidence is recovered and the media start covering the positive turn of the whole situation and people start buying crazy, and the next boom ?
2- people who have accepted the fact that they lost their coins and magically got them back and dump them right away on exchanges and price goes down ?
1924  Economy / Speculation / Re: rpietila Wall Observer - the Quality TA Thread ;) on: February 26, 2014, 10:44:05 PM
so the theory is and I can say 90% that this is what happened, Mark lost the private key, but he thinks that he can recover it, he reached for help, he told the Big guys about the problem, they were shocked and didn't want to help him and went out in 24 hour to tell us that Mtgox is insolvent instead of helping him recover customer funds, it was interesting how they just made a statement in 24 hours without any explanation to just tell everyone forgot your funds...

It would be just legendary to have those coins sitting forever in known addresses  Tongue

would give a real price boost to any holder right now, but I feel for the people who lost funds, I really hope that he can recover the key if this is the case, we don't need this bad advertisement, especially now ...

any other suggestion from you that make more sense than this, it is the speculation sub-forum so share your thoughts with us...

Edit: now if this is true, I really really hope that he will be able to recover the key and refund costumers, we really do not need that bad advertisement especially now...

Really? Bitcoin speculation has now become an exercise in dream interpretation? Where's Otoh and his astrological Bitcoin charts?

Please go on... don't interpret my comment as discouragement! Wink

I know, the support seems so strong, but for the sake of this argument, forget a bit about the TA now, the Gox situation doesn't seem to make any sense, all Bitcoin businesses came out from day to night to tell us that mtgox is insolvent and we should forget about it and all funds are lost, just like that ? where were they before ? and what did they knew ? why aren't they sharing this with the public, and who were the holders of the ten thousands of coins dropped before we knew anything ?

and what about Roger when he advocated them 7 months ago ? he said that he looked to documents and statements from banks and it is really not up to gox and they were honest, today he came out to say sorry and that he was just doing them a favor!! and we should forget about gox and all funds just like that ?!! do you want me to believe this ?

this doesn't sum up, there is something and we need to know what it is, each time there is a speculation about gox the price is going to drop, until the situation is not all over and clear, we cant move on... well at least I cant...
1931  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 26, 2014, 09:29:14 PM
I am reviewing my thoughts, there are 2 voices in my head now, the first is telling me that there will be small drops but we will go up but the second and strongest one is telling me it is not over and that we will drop further and we will drop even less than 400.

I am trying to convince my self and gather my thoughts but the gox situation is not letting it go, I cant let it go and I am starting to think that we will sink even further... any thoughts ?

BTW side note: Bitstamp doesn't rely on 3 confirmations anymore, I tried 4 times and I never got credited on the 3rd confirmation, I always get credited at the 6th...
1934  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BITSTAMP SEPA account "no transfer" countries/banks' list (upd 2014-02-24) on: February 26, 2014, 08:41:49 PM
How long does it take on average to withdraw FIAT via Sepa now. I requested a withdrawl last friday and it still hasn´t appeared.
The last withdawls i made 3-4 months ago , were transferred to my bank accout in 1-2 days?

if they are large withdrawals you may get the 6 questions (AML policy) and maybe this is why it is taking long, once I had the same experience with them, but once you answer the questions you get your money in a couple of days...

Standard, lamer Kram.

I knew it, am I the only one who got this ? how many of you out there who got the same e-mail ?
