This would likely just go down as another suggestion that the admins would not take any action on. Granted, there are quite a number of boards and sections on the forum that would do well with more moderation to try and salvage them. As @Pharmarcist pointed out, there has been no particular change in the level of spam on the forum over the years.
Theymos has opened threads about needing new mods for a particular board when the need arises, so he possibly has not seen the need for a global mod as yet or anyone willing and able to fill that position.

I would reiterate the sentiments of LFC_Bitcoin above; the forum is a great repository of information on all things Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, and proper use of the forum would allow one access to all that knowledge. But proper use also entails having a mental filter and taking all information presented with a pinch of salt;
• Do not grow to trust any user completely, but verify all information you get, • Grow a thick skin if you want to be a frequent user on the forum, • Know how to properly search for relevant information, • Always stay updated as the Bitcoin network is dynamic with new updates regularly added.
The forum has surely taught me a lot in the few years I have been registered.

WHAT ARE YOUR VIEWS ON THIS?
Bitcoin does not need to replace the U.S dollar or any other asset as a global reserve tool. Those currencies are highly politicized and there is a stiff competition to determine which currency is globally accepted. Bitcoin does not need to be part of that politics or does it need to be well defined, each person can use it the way they seem fit.

This scam attempt has nothing to do with Bitcoin and should not be in this board. You can move it using the bottom right option to 'move topic'. If you're going to play around with multiple airdrops from unknown tokens, you are exposing got details to scammers and thus would make you a target down the road.

They will have a dream team, but will they be able to play together well ? And to be motivated enough ? Last year it seems they didn't want to win enough.
Messi and Neymar have a strong connection that dates way back, Neymar and Mbappe have already grown a bond both on and off the pitch; I personally see no reason why the trio would not have a perfect blend together, also considering they Messi plays alongside a couple of the other players at PSG for the national team. If I have any doubts about the squad, it would be on the manager. Pichetinno night find it a bit difficult dealing with the players as I don't think he has ever coached a team with this much talent. How to bring out the best of the team would be the biggest hurdle.

No, I do not need your Merit. In fact, I do not need Merit from any of you, unless you expect Merit from me without me being a Merit Source. Source or not, you should no give merits in the expectation that the person would return the favour. No one expects merits from anyone in particular, you just merit what you find worthy of merits. I support that this behavior is unfit for a forum user, much less for a merit source.

There are rules that determine whether a post should be deleted or not, if a user violated such rules, the popular one being spam, their posts would get deleted. There are rules that could get a user banned from the forum, if one violates such rules, they'll likely get banned. Violating one rule does not mean all your other posts should get deleted as they are part of your contribution to the forum.
Banning an athlete from a competition would not nullify any previous record they had in that field.

Thank you for saying that but I don't think that ten years fit the title for an earyl adopter because it ten years, I would probably say that they are in the middle, I think there's a time that is only limited to people who are really early adopters. The scarcity is also amplified by the hype, increase in population and advance in technolgy.
If you consider the diffusion of innovation model, you'll find out that ten years can easily fit into the early adopter period, especially when there is still an enormous room for larger scale adoption. Bitcoin has the potential to be around for tens or hundreds of years from now. Only a very few percentage of the population have been actively exposed to Bitcoin and fewer companies or businesses accept it. I believe those in now are still very much early adopters.

When Bitcoin was born, human civilization began to accelerate evolution, from centralization to decentralization, from the governance of human nature to the governance of protocols, from corrupt governance to transparent governance. Bitcoin is ushering us to a fairer, freer, and opener society, and the value of each of our human beings will be treasured and liberated.
It seems like you are confusing two separate concepts; Bitcoin and the Blockchain. Bitcoin runs on the block chain technology, but so does so many other currencies and protocols. Bitcoin as a currency cannot provide transparency in governance or stop corruption, it's just a decentralized currency which is immutable, borderless and irreversible. It allows one the freedom to separate their finances from the government but cannot directly change government affairs.

Because of the value of Bitcoin, people will hoard it,
On the contrary, people will choose other cryptocurrencies because it's cheaper than BTC in the hopes that it will also rise in value. I believe "value" in the op is referring to the underlying value of an asset and not merely its dollar equivalent. Every altcoin is cheaper than Bitcoin relatively, but it would not offer more value as Bitcoin is more likely to growing dollar equivalent and adoption than all other currencies. Some still fall into that trap of buying coins simply cause they are dead cheap even though it does not translate to higher potential for growth.

Replying or making a post should only be done when necessary and you have something of value to contribute, value like quality might be subjective, making it difficult to ascertain when you are adding value and not. The key is just to make sure you're not posting for the wrong reasons; • Simply to fulfil campaign requirements, • To grow your activity, • To hunt for merits.
There are so many other ways one can be of value to the forum; • Reporting spam and plagiarism, • Creating a custom trust list, • Bursting scams, etc

Now in the cryptocurency community the opposite is the case, people are given fish (money Bitcoin) daily through giveaway and other means steadily on the social media platforms. Isn't this contradicting everything. We're producing dependant society that rely on others instead of looking for alternative ways to make a living for themselves and start earning bitcoin.
Those who giveaway Bitcoin on social media do so to attract people to their profiles and build their following, it has no deeper meaning to it, Bitcoin is just the means. Cash or anything of value can be used in the same way.
About the quote, it depends on how you interprete it. 'Give a man Bitcoin...' could be translated to letting someone in on how Bitcoin works as a network, but it still doesn't make much sense as Bitcoin is not a solution to poverty, it is just a decentralized currency with some other really cool features. Learning a skill, getting a degree, investing wisely etc are ways to feed yourself for a lifetime.

I was unsure how to go about this post and which board to publish it. Perhaps, should I use Pm? I discovered that using Pm might be a clear definition of an unsolicited message, hence this post.
Almost every first pm is unsolicited. Do not sweat about it to much, except you are sending pms numerous members or sending messages to advertise a service or product. I always have the feeling of an ingrate not having a way to say thank you, but after this post, I will be ok.
Your contribution to the forum is enough thank you. If every member took out their time to contribute positively, rather than only looking for how to benefit themselves, this forum would be a far more better place. I sincerely believe that before my 4yrs in this forum, I would get to meet some of the forum users in person.
That's quite unlikely, for a privacy centered forum.

How did you start investing in cryptocurrency?
Short answer: Bitcoin convinced me to invest in Bitcoin. I was introduced to cryptocurrencies by an acquaintance and quickly hot interested in them, after having owned a few coins for a while but never really trusting any for a extended period, I eventually picked more interest in Bitcoin. The decentralized network and other qualities Bitcoin possesses compelled me to hold it and actually view it as a currency that will stand the test of time. After seeing lots of internet scams, Ponzi and pyramid schemes, it was quite difficult to consider holding an intangible asset for an extended period, but the fact that I do not have to trust anyone and can verify anything got me sold.

Imo, the odds of Bitcoin getting to $1 million is far higher than the chances of Bitcoin getting to $0 within the next ten years, and it's not greedy to wish to get a loan to purchase bitcoin, but DCA is a always a better buying option than purchasing all at once. If you had started buying Bitcoin weekly or monthly from 2 years ago when it was below $10k you would have had a good chance of building up to becoming a wholecoiner already. Income for now is around $70,000 CAD while living at home, so making the small monthly payments will not be an issue whatsoever.
How much do you intend to repay periodically? You should do an estimate to know how long it would take you to fully pay back the loan with the accruing interest.

In addition to what NeuroticFish said above, one does not necessarily need to download the entire gigabyte of data to run a node, that's the reason pruned nodes exist; Not everyone even now wishes to run a full node, or have the capacity too, they can instead run a pruned node As a pruned node; you only store the most recent transactions history, based on your configuration. But they still contribute to the Network

Market volatility is a normal occurrence in the market making it tradable, the market must move for trades to be executed. I don't think volatility could be the reason why traders lose more in trades making them forfiet all there profits just because of a bad trade.
I was referring to your own comments on volatility being the cause of losses. As I mentioned earlier; lack of skill and find management is the main reason traders lose big. If one entered a trade with little capital and huge leverage, thy can get burnt all through easily should the trade go against them. There is a combination of so many reasons why traders lose out; • Greed • Lack of emotional control • Poor skills • Badluck etc.

• Firstly, you cannot find out who liquidated funds from on chain analysis, you can only know a certain amount of Bitcoins moved from wallet A to wallet B (simply). Knowledge of how to determine exchange wallets could tell who withdrew their bitcoins from an exchange or who sent them there, but does not show who sold.
• About the stop loss indicator, I have not hard of any, they are private settings in trading accounts, with no public indicator for when they hit, imo.

I fail to understand the purpose of this thread from the title or the contents. Anyone who loses in any field would need to return to the drawing board to find out that went wrong. Losing trades are no different, most times, it is due to lack of skill and fund management. I have had of a crypto traders that lost all his funds in one day because of market volatility. This happens frequently and I think there is need to recall where the cause could be from.
Your preceding statement already gave the cause of such loses. Volatility is part of the crypto market and any trader should be prepared for it.

As everyone has said, taking any action when your mind is foggy is not wise. But from the story, the guy in question was just casually browsing through, maybe lack of sleep kept them awake, before seeing the pop up with a security threat on their wallet, now that's a message no one can ignore regardless of how under the weather you are. The scammers may have not timed it, but they had a huge help from luck, as they got their victim in a situation they were most vulnerable with a message they could not ignore.
Preventing yourself from coming across such poo ups is one of the best advices; • Use adblockers, • Do not have your wallet installed on your phone or computer you use to browse often, • Seek third party opinions before taking actions you do not trust.
