1941  Economy / Economics / Re: Wage gap between CEOs and US workers jumped to 670-to-1 last year, study finds on: June 14, 2022, 08:42:41 PM
- it something that my mum says but it does make sense, one is able to profit off all the situations easily if they have a certain amount of money in their bank and a wide network.
That's a pretty wide quite from your mum and is very apt in my opinion. Opportunities lie in almost every situation, and bad situations usually create more opportunities as there are more problems that one can solve.

The financial policies also seem to favor the rich as well, therefore I do think that taxation, job opportunities, they should all resonate equally with your wealth, people should be not be able to find loopholes like giving charity to church and taking tax reduction on that area and saving millions, these loopholes must be discusses and managed.
The rich can always lobby for such loopholes to be created to give them a sort of leeway which would allow them safe some money and evade stringent regulations
1942  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Transfer from BRD on: June 14, 2022, 07:59:13 PM
With your seed phrase you have full ownership of your address and would always be able to access it regardless of what happens to a certain wallet software.

With that you can import into any wallet of your choice. Electrum which is suggested above is a good choice of a non custodian wallet.
1943  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where will Bitcoin stabalize?? on: June 14, 2022, 07:37:35 PM
Yet many well read people like American billionaire businessman David Rubenstein said that crypto would not go anywhere despite the ongoing market correction.
Firstly, do not base your investment decision on the comments of "experts" or "well read" individuals. Do your own Research.
I agree that the crypto market is not going anywhere, but lots of cryptocurrencies would fizzle out during this period, this is an effect of market sentiments and scam projects getting exposed as they were just riding on hype.

How long will this market correction will continue and where will this stop.. and where will Bitcoin stabalize
No one can answer any of these questions with accuracy.
If you have done your fundamental research and believe Bitcoin is going to rebound then you buy or hodl.
1944  Other / Meta / Re: xzone Merit Source Application on: June 14, 2022, 05:49:33 PM
Good luck on your application

Going through the first few pages of your profile; you majorly visit your local board and I have not come across your profile before.
But local merit sources are always welcome as they encourage discussions in the local section which is very vital for the forum as a whole.

You are also active in giving merits in your local board, which makes a good fit for the job. Hopefully Theymos considers adding new sources anytime soon as there are some pending applications. All in due time.
1945  Economy / Economics / Re: Wage gap between CEOs and US workers jumped to 670-to-1 last year, study finds on: June 14, 2022, 05:16:40 PM
Wage gao between the top 5% or 10% and the rest has been growing for quite a long time now. The rich seems to always find a way to make more money while legally evading financial policies which were originally designed to take from the rich.
One of such policies is taxation; As a concept, taxes were initially implemented to leverage on the wealth ofthe rich, but the rich used loopholes to evade it.

I am not expectant of government policies actually making much of an impact on the wage gap, and especially not for a prolonged period of time.

Probably an error; you posted the imgur link twice; once with the img tag and the other without it.
1946  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is not dead but it was called as dead 450+ times. on: June 14, 2022, 03:46:01 PM
Some people I knew actually informed about Bitcoin in 2017 but until now, they did not join. When Bitcoin soared to nearly $20,000 in late of 2017, they felt regret. Again, when Bitcoin hits $69,000 they felt regret. It is exactly what they told me but they just said, if you can help me to buy Bitcoin in previous years. Something like this.
I have also encountered people like this who come up with excuses not to buy, the excuses sometimes change and could be;
• It's too technical for me to understand
• It is too expensive, I would not get much for the amount I have (but they will watch their savings eroded by inflation,
• I wish the price would dip (when it's rising)
• The market is unstable (when it starts dipping)
• and so, and so.

Such people would likely never buy, or would end up buying some shitcoin which is sold at $0.0001 per token in the hope of getting into the "next Bitcoin" early
1947  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is not dead but it was called as dead 450+ times. on: June 14, 2022, 02:48:21 PM
Here comes the time where we get the usual questions about whether the crypto market can recover and if Bitcoin is dead; I expect the Bitcoin Discussion board to get busy with posts and trolls.

So, it is good time to be greed when others are fearful. If in either 2020 or 2021 you hoped to see Bitcoin at price $20,000 to buy it at discount price, now you have opportunity, will you take it?

Or will you be fearful now and regret later?
Many people who say they are waiting for the price to go down before buying do not really plan on buying, it's just a reason they make up for why they do not want to buy,
1948  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bill prohibiting crypto payment on review. on: June 14, 2022, 02:21:50 PM
It is no new thing about the clampdown on Crypto currency and assets globally. Many countries have tagged crypto currency's illegal and therefore prohibit their banks and other financial institutions from transacting or dealing on Crypto.
A government can restrict banks from mediating in cryptocurrency transactions, but this does not mean crypto is illegal there; Those are two different concepts.
About the number, of the top of my head, I'll estimate that Bitcoin is legal in far more nations than where it is illegal. This does not of course mean that countries are generally welcoming to cryptocurrencies or Bitcoin in particular, we still see baseless attacks against the network and governments creating more stringent regulations for exchanges and other platforms used to interact with digital currencies.

About the proposal in Russia to ban payments with crypto, this is a case of the country trying to regulate the use of cryptocurrencies so as to maintain control over the flow of finances.
1949  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Newbies: Don't panic and learn to hold on: June 14, 2022, 07:33:50 AM
So just hold till what?... I think safe investing should have a liquidation point. Unless you are really devoted to that stock or cryptocurrency. It makes no sense to hold until price hits the bottom. So the real question we should be asking is at what point do I want to save the investment that I made which is now gone bad?
How many times has the price of Bitcoin reached the perceived bottom and how many more times has it rebounded and made new ATHs?

If you've done your due diligence and understand how a certain asset works in different markets, you would understand how it acts after price dumps and pumps. With this, your liquidation point would not be an effect of dips in value, where you will be forced to cut your losses.

I've gone through different Bitcoin cycles and I can predict that Bitcoin would reach another ATH within the next couple of years (3-4 if I'm forced to give a number), especially when you consider that we are more than half way to the next Bitcoin halving.
With this knowledge, I can safely hodl Bitcoin beven though the market tanks and even buy more.
Buyer's remorse can definitely force investors to panic sell, particularly if they bought at the top and would need lots of price increase for them to break even. Rhat is why how you buy is very important in determining if you can hodl.
1950  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: First Post here: I hope this forum reignite my interest in bitcoin on: June 13, 2022, 06:19:01 PM
I'm sure the next post will be about merits. So, a good literate question will bring you a reward. It is important that it be unique.
The next post was actually not about merits but private keys and seedphrase. Which at least shows that the OP has some sort of interest to learn, or some left over from their initial contact with Bitcoin.
Whichever it is, it's good seeing a newbie who has interest in actually learning about Bitcoin and not just looking for what bounty to join in or how to rank up.

OP, you should also interact after making a thread. It's not enough to start a thread and then move to start another, follow discussions on open conversations and lock threads when you have gotten your answer.
1951  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is there a solution to alts leeching off bitcoin's strong valuation? on: June 13, 2022, 02:47:55 PM
Anyone can buy Bitcoin and use it as a collateral or how ever way they choose to. They have the freedom to do so, and Bitcoin is decentralized, so no one can limit anyone else from opening it. If anyone chooses to buy their contraption instead of an actual Bitcoin that's on them.

Alts are not screwing bitcoiners; Market changes following cycles of bullish and bearish periods; this drop in value is not exclusively a result of any certain factor, so you can't say alts are dragging Bitcoin along with it.
1952  Other / Meta / Re: What we can do to get ride of alt farmers? on: June 13, 2022, 02:38:06 PM
These also demotivate genuine workers to leave the forum because their already dropping payout getting thinner because of these multi-users
Anyone who leaves the forum cause they did not get the expected amount they wanted from a bounty campaign, would not be missed that much.
Bounties and signatures are secondary on the forum, the primary purpose is Bitcoin discussion.

A special badge can be provided for bounty hunters. New members must pay 10$ to the forum to get that badge to join the campaign. Already existing members and users above full member will get that badge as an airdrop. It is easy to get member rank by buying merits but for full member rank, it won't be profitable. When an alt farmer gets red-flagged to 10 of his account he or she will think twice before doing the same because it will cost him money this time.
The admin has already stated that they would not get involved in managing bounties or helping to directly moderate their activities.
In the hypothetical situation that this idea was accepted, what would force the bounty managers to consider the badges when choosing participants for their campaigns.
1953  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Newbies: Don't panic and learn to hold on: June 13, 2022, 10:49:12 AM
My idea is a Bitcoin holder does not need to panic if they had an investment plan when getting in.

What pushes one to panic sell or cut their losses is when they invested more that they can afford to lose and with the current drop they saw their savings getting wiped out on the charts.
Buying smartly means that one invests spare money and at a controlled period of time; if the market dips, it does not affect you much as you have enough to foot your daily expenses. You basically sell when you want.

Those who fomo in at the top and end up selling off 4 months later already made mistakes from the beginning and no doubt would still have to sell as they need the money.
1954  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Generating wallet on custodial exchanges is what you should avoid on: June 12, 2022, 12:02:50 PM
I have been using custodial wallet but I didn't have problem as the platform itself is trusted. I don't know about custodial wallet out there if it is trusted or not.
When using Bitcoin, it's expected you verify and not trust. Banking on the reputation of an exchange is not a good strategy, as popular and trusted exchanges have been involved in hacks with users losing their funds.

There's also the risk of data theft where the platform can be hacked and personal details of users stolen. The exchange also would need to conform to government regulations and can at any ti e submit your details to the government without informing you, or a third party server could sell your data.
1955  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are the comparative advantage of Bitcoin over other blockchains? on: June 11, 2022, 02:12:34 PM
Currently, many blockchain projects are under development with good potentials and use cases. Now I ask a question, Will Bitcoin survive the taste of time in the nearest future?
Bitcoin is favoured by most cause of the unique qualities it was built with.
• High security makes it a good means of storing wealth,
• Decentralization means one can transact independently,
• Transparency makes it easily verifiable.
All these makes it an ideal currency and hedge fund

It's impossible to predict how technology would evolve in the coming years as there would always be changes and innovations, but I am certain how Bitcoin would be in the coming years and decades. So, it would always be in use.

There can be new projects with new use cases, but that does not affect the usage of BitcoinBTC
1956  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What's been your greatest challenge on BTT ? on: June 11, 2022, 11:36:23 AM
My challenge about hanging out anonymously with a group of strangers who happen to be interested in a technology I'm also into? Surprisingly none.
This is just an online forum, nothing too serious. Engage in conversations, learn and engage some more.

If you've asked a question like what's my greatest challenge in learning Bitcoin, that would be a question that many here can relate to and for me it would be the technical aspect of it. It seems to be a never ending loop of calculations and algorithms, or maybe I have not really studied it enough. Good thing is I do not need to fully understand the technicalities, I just need to be able to verify the features in the technology and utilize it.

Many share this same challenge, and it has limited some from getting into Bitcoin. But, they would use the internet without being able to write a line of code or understand what goes on behind the scene; Bitcoin is really no different.
1957  Other / Meta / Re: Can I create a self moderated topic on this forum? (in the gambling section) on: June 10, 2022, 09:28:54 PM
They're not disagreeing. They've just read half the sentence and started to make accusations of bribery, and then everyone who comes after does copy/paste of what the one before said with different words. It's just that they're here to throw some meaningless posts. I don't have to deal with this, and feel compelled to answer because they couldn't read 2 short sentences in my original post.

I simply want to spend time for people who want to communicate not spam.
Firstly, making consecutive posts is against the forum rules. Best to edit the new post into the previous reply.
I had gone through the thread and understood that some members misinterpreted the idea of the incentive you offered, to get users support or oppose the flag.

It's not still enough basis to moderate and delete such comments for me. Engaging and clearing up the confusion is a better approach imo.
Having a topic to be self moderated in the first place could discourage lots of users from replying to it.
1958  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I KNOW LESS BUT AM CURIOUS! on: June 10, 2022, 09:19:39 PM
Welcome to the forum;
Beginners & Help is the best place to start off on the forum, and is where this post should have been made. (You can move it using the "move topic" option at the bottom left of this page).
Newbies - Read Before Posting is a good thread which contains many useful links for newbies, including the rules and other forum tips.

Try to read the pinned threads in the different boards before posting there, it would give you an idea of how that board operates.
1959  Other / Meta / Re: Can I create a self moderated topic on this forum? (in the gambling section) on: June 10, 2022, 09:08:56 PM
Ok thks for the answer. How can I do that? Upon wanting to create a new topic, I don't see the option for a self moderating topic.
When creating a new topic, there's an additional options icon at the left side of the text box; click on that and then select self moderated.

To give you an example, here's why I want to create a self-moderated topic, take a look at this, and check my post (number #9): https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5402033.msg60330655#msg60330655
A lot of people here are simply annoying.
Members disagreeing with your action does not count as pretty annoying. That is also not a valid reason to need a self moderated thread. If you cannot engage in arguments with other members, then maybe not start a thread.
1960  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC goes below 30k after US inflation rate reports on: June 10, 2022, 07:13:18 PM
Few weeks ago, I commented on a similar post to this, which was speculating the reason behind Bitcoin dropping about 2 or 5% within a short time.

It seems like most of these 'media houses' simply Google recent events whenever Bitcoin price drops and writes an article on how that is what stimulated the price action. This is mostly inaccurate as it's just a regular day in Bitcoin market cycle.
Zooming our of the charts a bit more, this drop would be quite insignificant.

This thread is a better fit in speculation board as that discussed trading action and price movements, but it's not really a general topic for Bitcoin discussion.
