2021  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: MEGATIPS FOR BEGINNERS. POST/RESIZE IMAGES AND TRUST SYSTEM on: May 19, 2022, 08:04:32 PM
Can be a direct link or you can upload a image to any host of images like imgur
Firstly, in order to upload images a user either needs to be at least a Jr. Member or purchase copper membership.
Then, posting direct image link in image tags, would usually give an error feedback, as the website might not support BBcode links.
In this case you will have to use an external site like imgur to convert it to BBcode.

We know a lot of new user dont remain for long here and also they don't want to read too much. (bad for they).
If you intend to make any financial deals with a forum member or anyone at all, then you have to read, a lot. The forum trust system is only a suggestion, sometime with references; You bear the responsibility of doing your research.
2022  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is going on??? on: May 19, 2022, 06:32:07 PM
What is going on???
Market volatility. As a result of demand and supply which affects the price.

Also, can anyone predetermine if the btc will reach the $100,000 and is the btc
worth the investment...An educated guess, is acceptable!
No, you can not pre-determine price action. All we can do is speculate based on available data on; supply, trading demand, previous price action and adoption rate.
With the current rate of adoption and the gradual shrinking of supply pump, I am fairly confident we would hit $100k, I can however not say if it's within the next year, or next ten years.
As said above, the value of Bitcoin remains the same through market cycles, so if you're confident in the network, it's easier to hodl.
2023  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: give me advice on how to choose a good exchange platform on: May 19, 2022, 02:53:37 PM
Almost every centralized exchange requires KYC. You can opt to use decentralized platforms to exchange which has P2P option, such platform do not require you to post personal details and function as decentralized middle men between buyers and sellers.

What particular exchange to use depends on what currency you want to buy; hodlhodl and bisq are recommended options.
2024  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Sending BTC To Gambling Site Time Range Question? on: May 19, 2022, 02:06:36 PM
But once you send the btc from nano ledger to gambling site, it immediately shows up in latest operation transactions right?
I just want to point out that a hardware wallet is preferable for cold storage and usually to hold large amounts of Bitcoin.
Outgoing transactions reduces the anonymity of an address as it exposes the public key linked to it, if you use a hardware wallet and it contains large amount of Bitcoin and you would want to keep that private.

You can operate a hot wallet alongside a cold wallet to meet your different needs.
2025  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CAN MORE LIGHT BE SHED ON THE SUBJECT OF NFTS OR IS IT OUT OF PLACE TO ASK HERE? on: May 18, 2022, 03:49:02 PM
The search button at the top would be of help here as lots of posts have been made on that subject.

In simple terms; Non Fungible Tokens are digital signatures on the blockchain which represents a digital art.

Stuffs like Bitcoin, gold and fiat are fungible, meaning they are identical and can be exchanged for each other; 1BTC = 1BTC.
NFTs on the other hand are not fungible and cannot be exchanged for one another. Each token is different and represented on the blockchain.

NFTs can be minted on blockchain platforms like ethereum, solana, polygon etc, and sold on websites like opensea.
Any art at all could be turned into an NFT; a video, gif, screenshot, painting etc.
2026  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What are some expectations for a newbie aspiring to learn, earn and impact? on: May 18, 2022, 03:43:51 PM
<snip>
If you aspire to impact the forum positively and understand that this is a community of members, then you should know that your actions are personally motivated and the only guaranteed reward is impacting other members positively; ranking up and building meaningful connections come in secondary.

You do not have to pressure yourself to accomplish an idea or devote more time than you can, or cash. Just enjoy the discussions.
2027  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: THE FAITH OF BITCOIN CURRENCY on: May 18, 2022, 12:10:08 PM
Does Bitcoin production mean Bitcoin mining?
Yes.
Bitcoin mining is how transactions are confirmed on the blockchain.
Miners get a reward for each block they confirm called coinbase reward. This is how Bitcoin comes into circulation.
This reward is halved approximately every 4 years.

If it does then what will be it's faith after the 21million mining limit...

Faith of Bitcoin mining or Bitcoin?
For mining, miners would rely solely on transaction fees as reward for their mining.  The network would adjust to this as the mining reward continues to reduce through halving.

How it would affect Bitcoin is down to pure speculation, possibly an increase in fee to confirm transactions.
2028  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What are some expectations for a newbie aspiring to learn, earn and impact? on: May 18, 2022, 11:57:17 AM
It has obviously not been easy trying to be of value in this forum wherebeit one has to learn the rules and in no time apply them to varying post uploads.
You are under no obligation to actually make a post. You can comfortably read through the different rules and general mode of communication around the forum and actually post when you want. You can even read through the forum as a guest without registering on the forum.
Any pressure is one you put on yourself, probably cause of how you were introduced to the forum.

Also, with engaging posts raking in merits, joining a campaign and earning, how does one even begin to rank up with as little as, or no experience as regard bitcoin or related crypto topics?
You are getting the stages mixed up again: You first learn, build experience, ask questions and learn some more, only then can you consider ranking up and earning. Those are secondary benefits of the forum.

What is expected of a newbie aspiring to learn, earn and impact with knowledge and investment?
You said it yourself; learn, find something that interests you and learn some more on that, then you can impact with knowledge.
What do you mean investments??
2029  Other / Meta / Re: No way to know if a user has edited the reply\topic on: May 17, 2022, 09:04:42 PM
I guess this forum made it this way to atleast, give users some time to still make some unnoticeable changes or corrections their posts incase of mistakes or  prematurely/mistakenly clicking the "post" button while still typing/creating the post.
That's probably the reason, cause edits within the "grace period" of 10 minutes (formerly 5) are not logged by the forum software. There are third party services available on the forum that sweeps posts regularly and can get more recent edits, but that was the original idea behind the time frame for edits to be shown.
2030  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Gathering and forum should be an opportunity for all to grow on: May 17, 2022, 03:40:07 PM
Forum opportunities and referals to successful jobs that have helped in the past will help give everyone a sense of belonging.
Wrong. This is a community and quality discussions with other forum members is what gives a sense of belonging. Even contributions which are not public like reports to moderators are very useful.
If there are any threads at all where a user asks a question or makes an inquiry and gets a useful response, that right there represents the forum.

If the sole purpose here is to get paid, then you would find it difficult contributing and you do not have to, if you feel you're not getting the benefit you desire from it.
2031  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Wallet & KYC on: May 17, 2022, 02:48:39 PM
I did a quick research on edge wallet and found out that they had a non KYC option some years back. I do not know if that's still active, and would not advice you use the wallet as it does not have much reputation.

I dont get how you can remain anonymous if you provide those details, surely its the same as opening an account with Kucoin or Huobei along with KYC verification as I have done in the past
Yes, you can't maintain anonymity if you have released your personal details to a service provider, those details could be used and sent anywhere without your permission.
There are P2P options which do not require KYC, such as bisq and Hodlhodl.
2032  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I Started the First Bitcoin Book Club in my City on: May 17, 2022, 08:23:56 AM
The Nigerian government recently updated their view of digital assets and services, lifting the ban and imposing regulations which in my opinion would limit growth of such services.

Back to the book club; it is a nice initiative and can reach out to the Nigerian audience. Reading the title and first few lines, I actually thought it was a physical book store, but it appears to be online. Good initiative either way.

My advice; do not over shoot the significant of Bitcoin, it can hardly affect the economy or improve standard of living, if can however make citizens to want to be more financially aware and independent instead of relying on an economy which is plagued by inflation.
2033  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to avoid huge cryptocurrency disappointment on: May 16, 2022, 07:50:13 PM
To me this is not an ideal recommendation. I see nothing wrong if a professional trader borrows money to trade. This is even recommended. If people can borrow money for start ups, I don't see any problems borrowing money to buy or trade a coin. Just apply your working strategy, money management and remove greed, you will be successful in as much as you know what you are doing.
Everyone has their opinion of course, but I do not consider that to be an apt comparison. In start ups, owners ask for investments mostly to scale up the business, in this instant they have already set something in motion at this time which investors can appraise after listening to their pitch.
There are also instances when one can take a loan to start a business, this should also be placed based upon a thriving enterprise or learning an in demand skill, these are very different from borrowing money you do not have, to trade where the outcome is majorly out of your control regardless of your skill and experience.

"Professional" traders should not need to borrow money in order to trade, they could rather leverage.
2034  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How can i secure my account? on: May 16, 2022, 04:34:32 PM
In addition to the advice you already got; Keep back ups for everything - Your email and profile passwords and your staked address seed phrase. This way even if you lose access to your device which contains your wallet, email and forum profile, you can recover everything back.

Also, avoid phishing links, preferably, click to always stay logged in. And do not enter your forum log in details on any third party platform.
2035  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Terra Usdt vs BTC price corellation on: May 16, 2022, 01:50:35 PM
I've just read on twitter something I didn't know, and I guess you too; this mess did cause BTC price go down simply because Luna owner has sold 80k BTC:
<Snip>
I read that news some hours ago and how I see it;

The news of the 80kBTC sale was announced today or that's when I saw it (not sure) and so far the price of Bitcoin has not changed much, not nearly enough to be analyzed and linked to an announcement from LUNA.
The sale was also said to have taken place over the weekend, during which time Bitcoin rose from approximately $26k on Thursday to $31k today.
2036  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Terra Usdt vs BTC price corellation on: May 16, 2022, 10:55:32 AM
I stopped paying attention to the post and indeed the article when they talked about "experts". This seems to just be a word media channels throw around to give credibility to unfounded assumptions or to refer to channels with large following.

Bitcoin does not have a dependent correlation with Terra USDT and a drop in the latter would not have an effect on the former. Price drops would be for a variety of reasons some of which were listed in the article.
2037  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 44 countries will meet in El Salvador to discuss Bitcoin on: May 16, 2022, 10:38:53 AM
The agenda of the meeting is not centered around Bitcoin; Bitcoin appears to be an offshoot of financial inclusion and digital economy, which is a topic for many of the countries in the list posted by Bukele.

Access to financial services available globally is an important factor which supports economic growth of SMEs; Emerging fintech and digital enterprises and bridging the gap between countries and Bitcoin tends to play a part in this as it is neutral to a Nations economy or GDP growth, and creates a platform where they can transact directly.
2038  Economy / Reputation / Re: Display Name changed from "COOLCRYPTOVATOR" to "The Cryptovator" | Tnx Theymos on: May 14, 2022, 07:37:28 PM
I didn't want to spam your most recent thread, as you already created an announcement thread regarding your new name.
I was a bit shock reading that thread, then the username which I didn't recognize and then catching the signature and other profile details below it, thinking; that looks very familiar.
Cool name, cooler than your previous one in my opinion.

I'm guessing you already created matching profiles on your business pages for uniformity; it would be easier to get impersonated that way.
2039  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are you following very basic crypto rules? on: May 14, 2022, 07:33:24 PM
1. Don't invest in crypto if you can't afford the loss.
This should be; don't invest in anything more than you can afford to lose. Investments bear a certain level of risk, with the possibility of losing your investment. Do not put in more than you can spare.

Also, do your damn research. Not every asset or currency should be bought; that's not diversification, it's simply creating more ways you can get burned out.
2040  Economy / Reputation / Re: Another 1xbit scammer with new service on: May 14, 2022, 08:19:50 AM
What is surprising is that people are so greedy that they believe anyone who promises them little money, and are not able to even check the legality of their manager.
Some might be too lazy to do research on the managers or the campaign they are applying to, looking at the managers trust feedback is the bare minimum most do and these particular account hasn't been tagged yet.

I'll drop a red tag on the user and hopefully that would deter other unsuspecting members from applying.
