2901  Other / Off-topic / Re: A Simple Trick to Protect Your Private Phone Number on: August 11, 2021, 09:46:06 AM
Sounds nice, but how expensive is this service and is it a one time fee or monthly? I noticed that we can get new SIM cards with a new number for free, we only have to pay for calls and text messages. But if we only want a new phone number to register online we don't need to do any calls. The only thing we need is an old phone at home.

2903  Other / Politics & Society / Re: When is the 3rd dose scheduled for american soldiers? on: August 10, 2021, 04:02:26 PM
I thought there will only be a third dose for older people, 60+ years and the ones being sick. At the moment younger people don't need yet another dose. Also what is a problem is that the Lambda variant from South America might be immune to the current vaccines. So instead of getting a 3rd shot of the old vaccine, we might need a new cocktail for winter this year. We need more testing on how long the immunity is actually going to last instead of just keep vaccinating everybody.
2904  Other / Off-topic / Re: Gold to 600 $? on: August 10, 2021, 03:48:22 PM
I see a huge extended m-pattern in the gold chart.
Do you think Gold will go to 600 $ in a few years,
because of Bitcoin and Ethereum?

No I don't think Gold will ever go down to 600$. The only chance of this happening would be if they find a new huge Gold mine with thousand of tons of Gold that could be mined easily. But this is very unlikely in my opinion. Sure BTC and ETH will take some of the investors away who are looking for a save asset to invest in. But there are still other players in the Gold market. Jewels will always need gold to make rings and other things, and in production we also need Gold, or some people like to have Gold teeth. This demand will probably keep Gold at higher levels.
2905  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Are humans not changing naturally? on: August 10, 2021, 11:50:10 AM
There is no end to humanity and life is always changing everything is changing at the appointed time accept the sudden change in your life due to an event no matter how unexpected accept the faster you accept the faster you will be able to adapt to the changed life. No matter how difficult an event may be, over time we all return to the normal course of life it is important to remember that some changes in life seem seemingly unacceptable or stressful.

While we humans tend to change over time, it is hard to say if the individuals are changing too. In my opinion most changes happen over generations and take a long time to be permanent. While as kids we want to be rebels and be different from our parents, once we get older we get more and more similar to our parents and grand parents. The changes in human nature happened over hundred and thousands of years. In general people where much smaller in the past so also their skull must have been smaller. We can still see this today in old houses from 600 or 800 years ago.
2906  Other / Off-topic / Re: What motivates you to work hard every day? on: August 09, 2021, 01:05:51 PM
My biggest motivation is still my family, I want to provide for them and make them proud. The corona pandemic are very bad times, that makes every little effort important. Just some small gift can already make a big smile on these dark times. Without family my second motivation would probably be to become rich one day.
2907  Other / Off-topic / Re: type of music when you get stressed? on: August 09, 2021, 12:54:07 PM
What kind of music do you like to listen to when you get stressed?
Generally I hear sound tracks from different sources or classical music
What do you usually hear ?  Grin Grin

It depends for me, when I just want to relax than classical music is very good to me. But if I still need to work and be productive than I need a little bit more pep in the music. The best for me the is Jazz music. I love saxophones, for me they are really energetic.
2908  Other / Politics & Society / Re: I beat the China virus.. I think.. on: August 09, 2021, 12:34:08 PM
Congrats for beating it, you much have a good immune system. The best thing you can do right now is to go to your doctor and get document saying that you recovered from covid. This even better than being vaccinated and for 6 months now you can be in peace without being asked to get tested or vaccinated. In my country the most rights have people who already recovered from covid.
2909  Other / Off-topic / Re: Evolution & Survival - Who is the most 'evolved' species? on: August 09, 2021, 09:09:21 AM
Humans are very evolved because we have a brain and free will, this evolution happened in a very short period of time compared to other animals in the past. There a lot of different animals which are much older than we humans and which also live much longer than we do. If we look at sea turtles for example, they can get very old and have been around a very long time. Even though the sea is full off predators like sharks, the turtles managed to adopt very well and didn't get extinct.
2910  Other / Politics & Society / Re: My body, my choice is the new : just do it ! on: August 09, 2021, 08:37:09 AM
how can you oppose that? my body, my choice. end of the discussion. no trespassing allowed.

blah blah. it's the most powerful slogan ever !

it reflects the WILL as the fundamental core issue ! and maybe even more basic the full owership of the individual over his own body.

I heard this slogan before, but I don't remember in which context. What are people using it for? Maybe it is a justification to be overweight? So nobody can say anything against it, even if it is very unhealthy.
2911  Other / Off-topic / Re: Higher education, is it so important? on: August 07, 2021, 03:59:15 PM
It depends on the individual. Some are self-learners some are not and need an extra push.

The problem with self learning is that it's hard to show to a future employer. Without the necessary education, he might not even give us a chance to proof ourselves. A university degree is not only there to show what we already learned, but also the willingness to learn new things in the future. Also if we had to pay a lot of money for university it shows our determination to succeed in life.
2912  Other / Off-topic / Re: Loneliness on: August 07, 2021, 08:32:14 AM
Hello everyone, I am a smart and well-read person, but in order to get a lot of knowledge and reading, I donated the time in which everyone learns to meet girls and increase their sexuality. But now that I have a good job and a good education, I want to find a wonderful beautiful girl who will understand me. Where can you do this on the Internet now?

You are in a very good position to find a good girl for you know. Older woman look for well educated men with a good income. If you want to settle down with a family this should be not so hard for you with the help on the internet. Just google online dating + your country and check out the first few sites. The most important thing is to pick a good website where you actually have to pay money to use it.  If you go for a free online dating sites there will be many fakes.
2913  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Are you worried about the delta virus variant? on: August 07, 2021, 08:27:28 AM
Looks like the Delta variant wasn't as bad as the media proclaimed. A few weeks ago it was another doomsday scenario with mutation being spread in Europe and everybody talked about the 4th covid wave. But it seems that the vaccine is working well against the delta variant. What is more troubling now is the Lambda variant from South America. It seems that this variant is actually immune to the vaccine. This is very scary because we would probably need a different vaccine for this variant.
2914  Other / Off-topic / Re: AI in Customer Service: Conversational A.I Talkbots on: August 06, 2021, 12:50:17 PM
I think it's just a matter of time until robots will take over most of the jobs humans do today. And the sad part is that they will be much better and more efficient that humans. Probably we won't even be able to tell if there is a robot or human on the other side of the line. All these robotic voices we have now for Siri, Alexa or any text to speech software will eventually disappear. The AI revolution already begun, our kids and grand kids will live in a completely different world.
2915  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is COVID-19 cure possible? on: August 06, 2021, 12:22:52 PM
The best would be to have a light medicine that helps our body to fight the corona virus and makes sure we don't have a severe case. If we can reduce the infection to a mild case with almost no symptoms and 0% fatality rate than we would have already won. Because once everybody had corona we would be immune for the next 12 months. There is a risk that the virus could mutate every year like with the flu, but if we limit its spreading at the beginning it won't be as severe.
2916  Other / Off-topic / Re: What do you think about online dating? on: August 06, 2021, 12:12:10 PM
This is not surprising. The Internet is so developed now. It's normal to make friends online. It depends on your purpose is not simple, can not affect other people's normal life, but also pay attention to your own safety issues.

Safety plays a big role on the Internet these days. While we like to share so many things about ourselves on social media, we need to be aware that there are many fakes out there. Especially with online dating there are imposters who just try to get a lot of personal information about a person for criminal activities.
2917  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you miss Trump? on: August 06, 2021, 08:21:38 AM
He was the most entertaining president for sure. He had no filter, which is why so many people loved and hated him.

Yeah he is a really funny guy and managed to engage many people in politics. Even if you don't see eye to eye with him on his political agenda it was still fun to follow him on Twitter. Compared to Biden now the president became boring again. With Biden you just let it be and don't care much, but with Trump you had to follow his stuff and either you were strongly for him, or strongly against him.
2918  Other / Off-topic / Re: Tired Of Spam Messages On Discord? on: August 06, 2021, 08:12:42 AM
— Go to settings ( Sidebar >> Click on your avatar) >> privacy and safety >> Disable "Allow direct messages from server members"

Thank you for this one Sir, I wasn't aware it could be blocked. Discord is a great tool and I use it for many years now, but I am on so many different servers that is hard to know where exactly all the spam messages are coming from. I am getting messages for trading tips, new casinos, and just outright virus websites. Blocking all these messages in the future will be very helpful.
2919  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do ALL vaccines kill people? on: August 06, 2021, 07:37:30 AM
Why should "ALL" vaccines kill people? Vaccines are helpful and protect us. Just look at Polio for example, the vaccine didn't kill anybody and we managed to get rid of it world wide (https://www.historyofvaccines.org/timeline/polio) Without the vaccine a lot of kids would have died. I know there is a big difference between Polio where scientist had many years to come up with a good vaccine  and the corona virus, where scientist came up with different vaccines in a few month.
2920  Other / Off-topic / Re: What birthday gift for my mom? (Objects) on: August 06, 2021, 07:32:05 AM
My mom has her birthday in 2 weeks and I don't know what to buy for her.
(57 yo)

Spam me your ideas!

My mother loves plants, so every year she gets a new one from me for her birthday. She has a garden with enough space, without it I would probably just buy some flowers. And then I either buy her a new book or just some chocolates. Don't worry so much about the gift, better spend some time with her and tell her you love her. That is most important for mothers.
