the main problem with open sourcing AI tech, though, is that it'll give a really powerfull tool that can and will be used for disinformation and fake news
that will be huge probably already starting on the next elections
on the other hand I know it's not possible to regulate it and it'll hit us sooner or later

Social media platforms have come to offer a huge market of users, so using them for advertising campaigns always produces good results.
They do help sometimes, but they don't always work though for various reasons which is why it's a somewhat risky strategy.

what are the games you're playing more often? Lucky or skill games?
do you find some strong lucky-based game that also have a component of skill?
There are several great luck+skill based games out there such as poker, sportsbetting etc if I understood you correctly. Sportsbetting is the best skill+luck based gambling game for me though.

nice! and on sports betting are you usually betting who's the winner, combinations like one team win or draw, goals (min/max) or something else?
it's full of details and possibilities, I like to hear on how each person organize and what are their strategies on it

would you mind sharing a bit?

<...>

Regarding the hacking of sites, any site that has its platform to make money move because it is easily hackable, nothing else can be accepted but that, as far as I am concerned things can happen for any type of company, be it for a casino, be it for an exchange, they all have the same risk, they are hackers, and the important thing about this is that the casino or the site that has been created have enough strength to continue operating Without the Clients were Affected, that is what we have to see, of course we are people who can generate different ways of doing things and seeing where we will put our money , they have already given an example of casinos, exchanges, and If there are Binance-level hackers capable of hacking into the 2FA security layer, then this is very likely to happen.

The important thing that one should see is that these sites like Duelbits , stake.com and Some more that have been hacked because they have come out ahead and what is most striking is that they have not compromised the money of Others , because it is very ugly If we are in a casino and suddenly nothing can be done, they close it for a while and people's money is kept there while they do investigations, authorities go , no, things can't be seen like that , then we have to rescue them These systems have been Responsible with what they have and what they have done to get Ahead, our money when it is in an exchange, or casino is no longer ours, it belongs to where it is, that is what must be understood.

websites with an structure like exchanges (and this includes casinos) usually have to have a hot wallet with funds that will be more vulnerable but that the users will have more access too if they want to withdraw
but they usually have layers of protection with a cold wallet and a wallet that is airgapped (even an extra layer of security over cold ones)

I wouldn't say it's always easy to hack them
you have to verify how the hack was done, if elaborate phishings, inside jobs or something else

306  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The madness of gambling addicts. on: February 21, 2024, 04:11:51 PM
many gambling addicts have lost their minds because their desire to continue gambling overpowers their common sense, hence the importance of "gambling responsibly"
Ironically when there are people who cannot control addiction in gambling, this is just a small example of many gamblers that ended worse and there are some who end their lives because they are in debt when gambling. Gambling is responsible when you are not addicted and when it cannot be controlled, in my opinion it is difficult to be responsible for gambling choices.

The problem is how you put gambling, if done only for fun in spare time is not a problem. But when gambling is done as a substitute for permanent work, this will be far more problematic and it is very difficult to control, the decision is in each of us and as much as possible avoid addiction in gambling.

Why do you think it is difficult to bear responsibility for the love of gambling. Who then should bear this responsibility? A person is directly responsible for things that deprive him of freedom. Including gambling.
Not all people can control themselves and play only for pleasure, so if a person has problems with addiction, this should be detected as early as possible and stop playing

I agree that we should all bear responsibility for  everything we do
Gambling is no exception
of course one can also enjoy gambling and not see it as something that deprives them of freedom.
307  Economy / Gambling / Re: Duelbits.com | Casino & Sportsbook | VIP | Instant withdrawals!|ARGENTINA & AVFC on: February 21, 2024, 02:35:21 PM
All sites that have a good level of security can also sometimes be hacked, not all loopholes can be closed perfectly and we never know what the hacker's motive is for taking the funds, I'm sure Duelbits will learn a lot from their mistakes, as long as they can still claim all the funds safe, all users should no longer need to worry about that and discuss this issue, because Duelbits continues to operate as usual and has not stopped their operations, so everyone can still gamble as usual.
Absolutely. Even Binance which is the top exchange encounter multiple hack in the past despite they the most advanced security on their field. The reason why services like Duelbits with strong security still being hack is because is they are popular which means they are the common target by hacker.

The more popular the casino is means the more possible security breach it will encounter that’s why they need to frequently upgrade their security as time goes by. This kind of hack incident will make them more secure because they learn how to counter this threat to avoid it in the future.
I do not think that nearly 5 million dollars is "pocket change" for them, it is still a lot of money, but it is also not more than what they have obviously. Plus they are a casino, so they print money anyway, the house edge makes sure of that. Even if you consider all the money in the deposited amounts, you will realize that how much of it will be withdrawn anyway?

I do not think that most of them would, they will either be lost by gambling or just left in there. So they should be fine, it shouldn't really be an issue for them. The thing is that we should consider this "hack" to be not that worth much to just fuss about, they should be fine of course. In any case, they should hope to not have any issues regarding this ever again to be fine of course.
As long as there is a money circulation system in it, I don't think the money will look like a lot, but that doesn't mean that 5 million dollars is also small, let's say like this, if a private bank has a lot of money because many of their customers put their money in that bank, but when all their customers withdraw all their money, of course the bank will collapse, as will the casino, no matter how big they are, as long as their users still trust the casino and put their money on this site, everything is still safe because there is money circulating in it.

Just try if all users withdrew all their money from the casino it would definitely have the same impact on the fate of the bank, but I believe that the casino's profits are very large so the loss of 5 million dollars can still be overcome and replaced by the casino, after all they have said that all users' money is safe and there is no loss, so everyone will not feel panic about withdrawing all their money from this site because they still trust this site and their money remains safe there. We can never feel whether the value lost is small or large except for the casino itself.

as usual saying an amount of money is big or small is a matter of reference and what you are comparing it to
for a personal bankroll 5 million is quite a lot but for a country it's peanuts.
simple concept but that we usually forget about.

Você saberia me dizer como ele faz aquilo?

309  Other / Off-topic / Re: Having a regular/steady income is important as a gambler. on: February 20, 2024, 06:00:01 PM
Gambling for fun is indeed a safe choice, but not everyone can do it. There are times when they are still greedy for chasing wins after earning more than their initial funds and that can be detrimental without them realizing it. The need to remain alert when things don't go as desired and stop when things can no longer be controlled.
Well it's their own choice, no one force them to gamble if they can't control themselves. Even though it's bad for them, but at least they give contribution to other people because they enrich the casino, it makes the owner able to pay salary for the employees and they will pay tax to the government.

So, it doesn't looks really bad right? Cheesy

Gamblers all over the world enrich the casino to take care of the business and pay for tax and employees as you said. But that doesn't mean that the players shouldn't mind being careful about spending their money. Wagering one's salary on casino drastically takes down the happiness of the gambler, when he losses a lot. Hence, a salary earner despite enjoying his gambling habit, needs to be mindful of his money and the ways he spends it on casinos. As things could get wrong on his side, while the casino improves in their business.

first things first: your happiness shouldn't be that much attached to money
way better to live like that than to be happy if you make some money and sad if you don't

but I totally agree that one should gamble in a responsible way.
that is easier said than done, though
310  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Rich or poor gambler, who should risk more? on: February 20, 2024, 05:46:32 PM
For someone to be rich, the person must have achieved so many things of life that he ought to have achieved and when you talk about taking financial risk, I expect the rich to take more risk than the poor man because even if he loses, the rich will better manage the consequences of the their losses than the poor. In gambling, a poor man isn't supposed to take huge risks in his gambling activities in other not to remain poor all his life because the more he losses his money, the more he'll try to get it back by gambling more which might likely make him become a gambling addict.

not really
sometimes you're rich because you're born rich and you had to do nothing for that, but your ancestors did
that's why the game is not getting rich but remaining rich
each person starts in a different moment and a different situation in the playing field
you can get a lot of money but it takes intelligence and discipline to keep it.
And because they did not had to earn that money they do not know what it took to do so, so they are very open to squander that money away in any way that suits their fancy.

That is how you get horror stories of people that had their life resolved when it comes to money matters before they were even born, and then they find themselves penniless and with no idea of how to keep their expenses down or how to earn a decent salary thanks to their skills, as they have none.

this reminds me of a headline I saw this days saying that Bill gates' children will only receive 50 million usd each, less than 1% of Bill's total money
because having huge sums wouldn't be necessary and would remove from them the possibility of pursuing it

on Atlas Shreded, Francisco D'anconia also mentions it, the idea that for someone to receive their heritage they should be able to generate at least that same amount by themselves.
311  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The madness of gambling addicts. on: February 20, 2024, 05:38:09 PM
~

good points again, you can find a balance where you gamble for fun with money you can afford to lose and don't become and addicted
and you are right 1% house edge isn't so high, I didn't know it was like that
even for slots.

what is the game you play the most?

It used to be Dice for like several years when I only had started with my gambling career. Then I switched to poker(not Video Poker, but real poker with real people at the table). And it's slots for like 3-4 years. I really like playing slots with good animation and sounds. Also, I've been always doing sports betting ... in fact, there's probably no game in gambling that I haven't tried. Smiley

for some reason I didn't really find slots that I enjoyed playing

by gambling carreer you mean, for real? you live out of gambling?
or you mean more like your journey on it?

poker is definitely more enjoyable in person than online.

Honestly, we will never be informed about this issue if they didn’t make an announcement unlike what happened to Stake hack that was find out by 3rd party that’s why it’s spread like a wild fire on the social media.

This case was actually posted by third parties--security firms-- too hence the "In response to the recent posts" by duelbits

First one seems to be Cyvers at Feb 13, 2024: https://twitter.com/CyversAlerts/status/1757478985561206945
Then CertiK several hours after: https://twitter.com/CertiKAlert/status/1757681640384381238

But unlike stake.com, duelbits did not halt their withdrawals even for a couple of hours so it did not create that much buzz. Also stuff like popularity, the hacked amount, reposts from popular media outlets/account played a part as well.

Maaaan, smooth operation with no interruption is seriously a huge plus PR wise lol since it saves your players from anxiety.

We are talking about $4.6 million here, and they still continue their operation. That speaks to how liquid they are and how much they value their reputation. With this incident, I'm sure they'll improve their system, and gamblers' confidence will be boosted since they aren't disrupted by this hack. Letting us know is another way of being honest with its gamblers, but the good news is that no accounts were compromised, and business goes on as usual.

did anyone map their wallets and have an idea of how much duelbits or other casinos keep on their wallets for daily operations? I suppose way more than 40 millions dollars, but would be interesting to have this data, since it's public data, just have to be organized.
does anyone knows if this data is available and organized somewhere?

~snip~

I think there's more potential to use chatGPT as a way to help analysing than as something like a set and forget totally passive strategy.
I think so too because AI or ChatGPT is just human-made intelligence which as whole is tool and technology that stores million pieces of information needed by each user and is able to provide detailed data.
However, I doubt that the detailed information provided by AI or ChatGPT can really help as whole, there will always be some things that are left behind or cannot be provided by this artificial technology.
It just that I think that use can be more possible in analyzing, not just creating strategies, strategies are created with skill and intelligence so it is clear that the human brain will be far superior in terms of creating strategies.
Development of AI or ChatGPT may experience significant improvements, but this cannot guarantee that AI or ChatGPT can work like a god and can really help and solve everything that humans do.
This is just an artificial tool and in fact artificial tools are only intended to help, not replace.

yes
of course everything can change with future versions of GPT and specally if we end up really reaching AGI
then some things we have no idea will happen

have you seen Sora? new model by openAI for video, I was already really impressed by it last week.

Is it currently better not to register there?
I am looking for a new bookie. The selection of bets looks good.
In my experience, Roobet is one of the best casino that I played in (sportsbook or casino games). Never had an issue playing on their site and the support is responsive if you have concern, so try it for yourself. But as others have said, there's a mandatory level 1 kyc, need to fill a basic details.

roobet is doing great with the marketing campaigns here in the forum, glad they keep it up after so many weeks.
Indeed. They became well known here because of their different marketing strategies (sig campaign, contests, games etc.) the reason why they became popular. Though they already lessen their promotions as well as their sig participants.

yes, I can see that they keep their presence strong here on bitcointalk, I just question myself how important is it for them I mean, if it's really effective for their marketing or more something they do out of valuing the community here, wanting to give back, principles, I don't know...

Grin

I'm not sure what is the level of complexity to make it happen but maybe it's even less complex than sports betting where you have lots of odds changing all the time and way more risk for the house.
what do you think?
I don't think it's less risky for the house though because these markets are also very unpredictable. For example, very few expected Trump to win against Clinton, but it happened and stunned many people.

the house has both sides of the bet, it's probably harder to extract value from a market like political betting than from soccer and other sports because with sports the odds and outcomes vary often and vary a lot.

This was posted on Duelbits Telegram and X accounts :
Quote
Dear Duelbits Community,

In response to the recent posts, we wish to assure everyone that all Duelbits customer funds and accounts are safe and secure.

Our ETH hot wallet recently experienced a security breach, resulting in the unauthorized withdrawal of a small amount of our ETH reserve (~1700 ETH).  We have alerted law enforcement and are working hard to address the situation.

However, we want to reassure the Duelbits community that the security of user accounts has not been compromised and remains our highest priority.

Despite this unfortunate incident, all our services continue to operate smoothly and without interruption.

Funds are Safu 😉

It’s a very unfortunate incident for Duelbits facing such a loss, to me 1700 ETH is a very big sum and still a big loss for my favorite casino. The good thing is players are not touched and nobody is facing any losses or breaches towards their accounts or wallets.

However, these cases seems to be avoidable since we have witnessed many similar cases with different casinos and crypto services. Is there a problem with the wallets and withdrawal system or it’s the security system that has many breaches where hackers uses and can’t be avoidable in any case?

I’m glad to see that many users didn’t even notice this which means nothing really is effected but still the team cleared things quickly and are dealing with the hacker to recover those funds and in worse scenarios it’s just a small loss and a notice to secure things more not just for Duelbits but all other crypto casinos.

for the general user 1700 eth could be more than they'll ever see in life but for a company it's not
they also published their new hot wallet
