Past performance =/= Future Performance

That's what she said!

i LOLed thanks for that!

Except it does.

That phrase is used in the context of hedge fund or 401k performance.

Price action in a market is fractal; the same human patterns of emotion happen in every market.

ROFL ok so show me your fortune and I will believe you.

If what you say is true you must be a Gazillionaire right?  Tongue
Except it does.

Then I guess you must have more money than Bill Gate, nice to meet you ?Mr Slim?

The same human patterns of emotion happen in every market.

Any rebuttals to that statement?

Lazy programmers.

What do you expect? Most programmers became programmers because they are lazy.

and what a wonderful world we have made Smiley

why python?  Perl would be a better choice perhaps.

Yes please rewrite in Perl.
307  Economy / Speculation / Re: Yet another analyst :) on: April 23, 2013, 01:47:58 PM
Nice 38.2% hit. I think next would be following

What is the grey line that goes from $265 top to projected $49?  Is there a second price that defines that line other than the top?

according to you lucif and according to your painting skills we should have already gone back down under $50

lol of course he won't admit this...

You guys know those big red directional arrows only indicate the next larger wave or trend direction right?  Its not a path the price is expected to take, its just the direction.  Price movement > time.
308  Economy / Speculation / Re: Gold collapsing. Bitcoin UP. on: April 18, 2013, 05:59:16 PM
so i just called my local gold coin dealer and asked the price of a 1 oz Krug.

answer:  $1450 which is a 4% premium over the current spot of $1394.  i then asked what is their usual premium markup and she said it varies anywhere from 3-4.5% which has not varied for many years.  nothing unusual.

but i'm willing to accept your supposition miscreanity and sell you my remaining gold coins for a mere $2500/oz which is a great deal given what you supposedly believe.

Why do you still own gold coins?
309  Economy / Speculation / Re: Gox Owes Me Coins. on: April 12, 2013, 11:37:13 AM
New orders are immediately queued in a FIFO queue -- which is a very cheap operation.

They are then taken out of this queue, and matched in the orderbook.

When this queue is very long, there is a considerable delay between submitting your order and, that order getting matched, so it can appear that (for example) the market price is well bid at $150 , you submit a 'sell at $130$ order, and then you see the market trade at $100, your order not executed.

Gox need to indicate WHEN there is a fast-market , and ideally estimate and publish the lag.

Hmm, going back below 140?

Testing old broken resistance from the ascending triangle we just broke out of... hold on....
311  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: First BFL ASIC! on: April 05, 2013, 06:59:26 PM
Shipping was not part of the contingencies of the bet.

First of all, on our site title is definitely part of the agreement. We do not count the current status as BFL "shipping" the products

Turns out it is part of the bet, which is why I ended up switching my opinion in the end.

That was ambiguous at the time however because it also says this underneath the title:

For this statement to be false, both of the two following conditions must be met:

Condition 1
Condition 2

That clearly excludes the title.

The conditions are there to prevent BFL from shipping a box of rocks and labeling it with ASIC DEVICE. Aside from the obvious shipping issue, the information provided was not credible. Whatever credibility Luke had before went out the window with this stunt. What a sad situation. I wish this much energy was put into actually making a product instead of using it to string people along and weasel out of bets. The most recent double penetration insult of lowering the hashrate and doubling the price is just comical. I'm more glad than ever that i jumped off this train wreck in December.  Cheesy

Actually the conditions are there to determine if the statement if false or not... like the first half of the sentence says.

In my mind it doesnt matter what you define shipping as, because the bet defined it for you... using the two conditions.

Sorry to everyone, I filled this need soon after making this post.  I thought I deleted it but it turns out you cant. Sad
313  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Bitcoin Relationship Thread: G/F, Wife, Significant Other...etc... Tales... on: April 05, 2013, 04:21:43 PM
I'm the local hero at work. Since we reached $100 and the news flooded the media, several coworkers came and told me "Hey, that bitcoin stuff is doing fine no?" "You going to retire?" "How many do you have?" "Man, I would sell everything right now" "The bubble is about to pop" "I'm not joining the ponzi".

I've been pestering them since $20 so the range of different reactions is pretty understandable Smiley. However they refuse to buy! I guess they just think they missed the boat.

Sounds too familiar Tongue

No new good news in the Bitcoin world, just plain old re-heated stuff.

This. Now would be an ideal moment to get another major actor jumping on board and adopting bitcoin for their business.

The only other reason I can think of for another surge in price would be another batch of news about the Euro crisis: bank deposits in Spain, Portugal or Greece getting seized by the government...
lolwut?

He is either the most relaxed dude in the world (look at his eyes... they are nearly shut the whole time) or high as fuck. Or both.

I have some heavy experience in this area, and he doesnt look HAF IMO.

Don't understand the employee/contractor debate at all...seems like a sideshow.

BFL shipped nothing.

Shipping was not part of the contingencies of the bet.
318  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: April 05, 2013, 12:52:53 PM
Gox is most idiotic market ever... they bloody log me off each 20 minutes and I bought numerous times when I wanted to sell because of this. I am on sell tab for some time, these f****rs log me off and I instinctively click the button thinking I'm scheduling a sale order.

Move your funds elsewhere.
