303  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [GROUP BUY6] New Years Eve Thank You Giveaway Bitmain Antminer S1 180GH 3 BTC on: December 31, 2013, 11:41:10 PM
First flaw I'd like to point out is assuming BTC will be at its current rate till March.
That a common misconception.  You're buying a miner. You spend BTC, it gives you BTC back. If you do not get back BTC more than you started with, plus some extra to pay for power and your time, you will have made a loss— as you could have just sat on the coin. Perhaps you are laundering money and don't care about a loss, in which case, analysis of (non-)profit is irrelevant to you but that doesn't make it incorrect.

Other than indirect effects (e.g. rising Bitcoin value driving hashrate up, or crashing Bitcoin value making both Bitcoins and miners less valuable), or crazy things like assuming that you're so irresponsible that you'll spend all your coin unless its locked up in a miner, the future exchange rate doesn't come into it at all. Even if you could buy these with USD, and AFAIK you can't— you still have the option of buying Bitcoin instead.

Sushi's service and support indeed appear valuable. But I suspect that the pricing is creating an uncomfortable outcome where it is likely purchasers at this price will end up with fewer coin than they started with. I comment on this with hesitance because I don't want to undermine the sales of a really good vendor (which I've recommend to many others), but I also worry about Bitcoin's future if massive numbers of small miners continue to make a loss, and only huge installations with captive manufacturing are able to return a profit.

Well said, +1 with a bonus thumbs_up.jpg

After taobao was mentioned last week, I have been following the action on there... sort of feel that this forum got the "shaft" when you look back at things.

However - the forum didn't help "itself" when Bitmain decided to auction the first rounds of units vice putting up a storefront website with actual inventory (outside China/taobao) like it was mentioned in the first ever post.  Whether or not some of the ridiculous large bids with huge quantities were legit are sort of a question mark.  The overall forum greed (hell, I got one in the 2nd auction).. drove the price up and it has been slowly (very slowly) coming down.  While the speedy service and support cannot be overlooked... this forum has undoubtedly been VERY GOOD to the Bitmain/Sushi operation shoveling over tons of BTC... (while the home team abroad can get these for half the price or so )

Is VMC not listed as a scam yet??

I remember a couple months ago there was a surge of "shareholders" pumping this massive douche canoe of an operation up..  is it that time yet again?

is impossible somenone return the refund at btc
no one company can do that

According to Cypherdoc (who was being paid by HF at the time) HF has been holding the customer pre-order BTC until the end of year (as they should since they are not allowed to use it to fund development anyway since we are not investors or backers).

Quote
they want only those committed to leaving their BTC with HashFast until the end of the year.  if they fail to deliver, they have said they will give full refunds in BTC.

Are you implying the copy/paste from UPS.com is fake?

Considering that it's coming from you, absolutely. I'm yet to meet a bigger online douche, I wouldn't put any douchebaggery past you.

I'm glad I hold a special place in your obese heart...

Impressive, you got to skip US customs in that itinerary, because that usually takes 3+ days alone. You must have slapped a diplomatic sticker on the side of that to skip customs, you sound important! I'm glad you didn't just fake some bullshit and post it up and forget to add the US customs stage to this, that might have been embarrassing. BTW, 2 days would be a new record from China, grats on that too, I'll call Guinness for you.

Are you implying the copy/paste from UPS.com is fake?  Are you that fucking stupid?  Go back to peddling your overpriced avalons and hope people click on your spam signature douche canoe.

I see these selling on eBay pretty steadily right now in the 3k USD range so please PM or post your offer. I realize there are some varying opinions about how safe eBay is and I honestly prefer not to sell there if I can avoid it.

We all see that.  What you aren't taking into account is ANTMINERS are 200GH for a little over 4BTC on this site (or basically $2000-3000 depending on when you check the exchange rate in the past day)

If you want eBay prices then sell on eBay  Wink  Miners consistently run 200% forum cost on there...  but as you know you lose a lot to fees and then all the risks.

First of all, pretty sure they're 180 GH/s. They were 4.5 BTC when BTC was up, I don't think they're taking BTC anymore. Also, have you tried ordering one? Good luck with that... BFL Malaysia... they won't even ship to the US.

Have you gone full retard?  Appears so...

They are 180GH overclockable to 200GH... which probably consumes less power than these avalons you are overpricing..

They are taking BTC right now in GB #3

I have a couple and shipping is almost as fast as Amazon prime 2nd day...  hmm.. prepared on 16 Dec.. departed on 17 Dec... wtf delivered on 18 Dec...

Keep gnawing away on that bowl of dicks...
