I can truly say, that i'm very impressed about the siacoin project and its developement. I didnt believe in this project last year, but this hast completely changed. This will be very big and is here to stay.

I've not kept up...2 questions

What is the date for the obelisk SC-1 Siacoin equipment? Is it still July/August 2018...or earlier...or unknown?

How is the progress on the decentralized storage method that the ASIC's are needed for...is that also on track with any/or above timelines

catch is with siacoin both them 'ducks' need to be in a row and at the same time...neither can fly

Garlic Coin is the most profitable GPU mineable coin to mine at the moment. Does anyone know where the price will be in a month?

No clue on price.....(I have a post somewhere on bitcointalk that bitcoin cash would never top 12c ..oops)

Curious on what you can get out of a GPU card after the fork (amount of coin on say a modest GPU card of your choice) just as a ballpark

and is it REALLY the most profitable GPU coin you can mine? If so that would be epic!

I have a mess of 550gh Jupiters laying about (got some of them for nothing for the neato metal cases)

so wondering if it makes any sense to repaste and toss them up at 550gh and about 750 watts if I remember correctly

or will Jihan Wu of Bitmain simply wade in like he did for Bitcoin Cash and just take all of this LCC (hey, if I was 'pure evil' that is how I'd play it) Smiley

anyone have any idea how fast the diff is rising...I may do this just to have the joy of a few days of being back in 2013! (I was such a cute, kool-aid drinking newbie then) Smiley

But if folk are gonna be having problems getting a Spondoolies sp30 or knc Neptune working and making a mild amount of sense....I'm out to lunch...too small at 550gh

Keep in mind the kids come first.  Everyone else comes second.

That means that making the kids suffer because the mother slept around is the wrong answer.
And that's why they should be taken away from the mother. Her lack of responsibility will cause long lasting damage to her children as opposed to short lived grief. It's not like they can't see her whatsoever, and it's certainly not like they can't go live with her once they're of legal age. So there's no reason to risk further damage by having an irresponsible twat raise those kids. And since we're on a Bitcoin forum here, I'm sure we all know where the dice fall in terms of short versus long.

And as far as child support goes. No. Not everyone else comes second. He did not father the boys so he should not be forced to pay for them. That's called theft. No matter how hard you try to reason it away.

Sure, giant foster homes...that has worked good in the past and other countries today (not) ... see how well that worked in the 20's and 30's ... taking kids away from unwed mothers

Reminds me of my new drinking game. Every morning there isn't a spectacular crashy pull back I take a shot.
Good job you can still remember it!

I'm honestly beginning to fear that my retirement years are going to be spent running out first thing in the morning for a covfefe and 6 pack of beer, and loafing in this thread all day.

I retired (could retire w/o cryto hoard...but when BTC hit 10k ...as a backstop I am trying never to use..I was like out of excuses).

Anyway, retired 1/14/18 and it is now 2/17/18....

and you have pretty much nailed this first month at least........

then again, hard to do 'projects on the house' when you are mining scrypt-pow yet...and keep tripping over stuff that makes you some coin (garlicoin as an example...gotta love
them knc titans and scrypt-n)

so yeah, it is pretty much 'loaf city' till I start to make less money, mucking with real world house fix stuff..then maybe, I can take a vacation and/or work on the house

(then again it is winter and cold as f*ck outside also)

So yeah, you pretty much 'nailed it'

gonna have to work on how to 'structure' my 'leisure time' .....besides crypto

Page count/ price parity has been broken. New goalz 2018!  Keep posting and shoveling fuel into that choo choo.

I need to make this shelf train arrangement with lights and whistles to run on when the price goes choo choo!

(on can never have enough distracting toys!)

That's a great idea. Set it to run whenever we hit a new ATH.

make little paper banners it can blast thru with a price on them and a date....(oops...pull back....drifting farther out of having a life mode.........wheel it back in..the shelf would be plenty)

3007  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: LISK price speculation on: February 18, 2018, 12:52:49 AM
Still researching this coin and I came to this conclusion that it will be above $100 in 2018, that may be too early or late but I am sure that lisk is the best coin after ethereum.

This is me in the future if you are correct. Got in on the ICO. Paid 1 BTC ($475 usd at the time, August 2016. I think it was). Best BTC I've ever spent! (so far)

Anyway, my future salute to you, on a beach in Belize in 2019, if you are correct Smiley

I'm told that the new algo causes the following:

AMD cards..same hash rate as before the fork

Nvidia cards ... 5 to 10x the hash rate of before the fork and of AMD cards now, due to the algo change

ASIC's... back to space heater status

is this rumor or fact....and if fact is this just a tweak/fix for the cards...or is this just

the way the mop'd flopped for AMD folk

thanks (I'm back to space heater ASIC'S now ...asking for a friend with GPU's)

AMDs are underperforming atm due to sgminer incompatibility. According to the devs they are working on a fix.

Thanks! I'll tell my buddy. He will be relieved!

What is the advantage of switching scrypt to sha-256? Also, LCC can't propagate the idea that it's superior to Litecoin, if that is clear, Litecoin Cash, welcome, of course, I'll participate! Will the LCC price be something like $10 to $25?

I'm not convinced it'll take any hashpower off BTC at all if i'm being honest. I will mine with old tech to get some LCC while the network is quiet but i won't be holding the LCC network up for any length of time... I get free power for my miners so any BTC is profit in my eyes... LCC probably start under $10... more likely under $5... from there it depends on the abilities of the development team and their marketing strategy. Can't see it ever getting anywhere near prices of BitcoinCash.

what you tossing up...I'm thinking of tossing up the old 2013 550gh KNC Jupiter Sha-256 ASIC's...for the heck of it....(besides its winter, I can justify it as space heaters)

found the pool (supposedly) https://cryptopool.party/...no idea of the params of setup yet

need (preferably) a paper wallet address method... web wallets tend to go poof on new coin launches (ex. garlicoin but I moved my stuff to paper wallets) (never could get the desktop
version as an example with them to work with windows 10)

so anyway, lets fire the beasts up ....how far have folk gotten on knc Jupiters or knc Neptunes or knc Saturns as examples of stuff that should work for a bit on this launch of LCC...

pm or post here

not a lot of time this LCC goes live on Sunday..so scrambling today..

So, when are we going to hit $1,000,000?

BTC will be $1,000,000 at about the same time that a loaf of Wonder Bread costs $50.00. Which may be sooner than we all think..

That or we see John McAfee do something he claims he's not going to do by a certain year.

or craig wright is satoshi and on jan 1st 2020 has access to that blind trust with billions of bitcoin in it ..(as last man of the satoshi group alive) and he dumps it all
just to burn us all.....(this is how life usually works in the bitcoin universe ...weird as f*ck)

So does pulling out the OLD 2013 ASIC's and mining this make any sense? Thoughts?

My situation below:

Anyone have any idea if drag'ing out the Swedish ASIC KNCminer 550gh sha-256  Jupiter is worth doing to mine Litecoin Cash on Feb 19th launch?

it will fork then, but will fork to sha-256...so unclear with a change of protocol if difficulty will start from the floor again?

no idea or guess on this is even worth it...but than again after GARLICOIN last week...all things are possible (till they fork again) Smiley

let me know what folk think...worse that happens I break even on firing the old knc Jupiters up for heat this winter and nostalgia for a few days/weeks for fun

and funny (likely worthless) litecoin cash FORK money

thoughts?

brad

pile in here...this may not make any sense, but looking for an excuse to put them back up and heat the basement, (if this all comes to naught)

also, any other equipment of a  Sha-256 nature, planning on piling on this? or just too silly?

3014  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Litecoin Cash Fork (is Sha-256) and old ASIC revival, questioning if worth it? on: February 16, 2018, 07:29:13 AM

This IS Gentlemen!  2018 is the year BTC becomes much more difficult to buy. Hedge fund managers never saw it coming. Perhaps a last chance below 10K?

Ah, but expect the usual FUD to follow now, leaks on tether coin games, China 'officially' (not just rumor) coming out saying all exchanges, even outside China are banned

(unless I missed that), India doing what China does 1 week later

rinse/wash/repeat

Did you sell your stash searing? Or just enough?

the BTC hoard is still virgin...the alts call to me to sell the all, for a life of wine/women and song.....but the alts I'm holding are likely to pump (LISK, Litecoin, Dash) thus conflicted...

I find it interesting...but I have heard stories that for some reason exotic dancers will listen to crypto nerds talk about mining all day long and are utterly fascinated...go figure...never saw

them as tech types......a mystery indeed......

like many on here, the pressure was on when BTC hit around $5,900 USD...I felt like I was watching the Iceberg from one of the Titanic Deck chairs......pucker city...

chump or champ...that will be the outcome on this chump if you sell and it is not tulips and chump if you sell too late...champ if you don't sell and it is not tulips and champ if you dump

before it is tulips supposedly...I figured I'd save a lot of angst just flipping random coins on such choices years ago...alas...I prefer to think I'm in some kind of control and prefer angst..

As to crypto in general, I'm  pretty sure my friends and family on the recent rise are planning an 'intervention and getting a 'white van' and a $5 wrench and are gonna try to beat my

private keys out of me 'for my own good' ..this whole crypto roller coaster drives them and my relatives much crazier than it does me......I'm on the high wire...I fall, I fall, I don't, I

don't.....much tougher watching me tetter from the sidelines, me of course being 'boring as f*ck' see no real lifestyle change whatever happens...moon or doom...so am somewhat

indifferent......drives everyone crazy, I've ever told to get into crypto...especially since it has gone up about 2x since the dump......I am somewhat unpopular due to my obivious

in their mind..deluded state of kool-aid drinking crypto madness

Then again, I'm 62 years old...don't take the risk now...what will I have to talk about win or lose in the Nursing Home in 20 years or so? (planning I am) Smiley

As Satoshi said, BTC will be worth a lot of $$$ or nothing at all.....Chump or Champ is our future with crypto....place your bets...

3017  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] The First Litecoin PPS Pool (litecoinpool.org) on: February 15, 2018, 11:35:51 AM
Now that LTC has gone up so much it would be wonderful to half the minimum payout amount.   It might bring more hash to the pool.

I'm never brave enough to run my balance up to 50 LTC but 15 or 20 I'll do...I don't have to tell the tax man till it hits my wallet...thus I stall ...before dipping in for expenses Smiley

just saying from the other end of this Smiley

brad

edit: I did get hacked 21 LTC in 2015 I think it was from the pool.....weak password I'd expect it was ...just saying....

3020  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Coinbase 1099-K to be sent. Confused on details on receiving one? on: February 13, 2018, 01:28:46 AM
I am in the same situation as you.
Mined and transfer BTC to coinbase then sold them for cash and transfer the cash to my bank account.
I did more than 20k with less than 200 transaction.
I spend a lot of time wondering where is my 1099-k.

Thanks for your post.

I did more than 20k but did so mining...thus..it does not seem to apply to me..(i should check my coinbase online account thou anyway)

anyway see below from the above posts and this is from the coinbase support page

What are "Business Use" accounts?

"Business Use" means accepting virtual currency payments into your Coinbase Account in exchange for the provision of goods and/or services to your customers. We use the best data available to us to determine whether your account activity qualifies as Business Use, including but not limited to factors such as completion of a merchant profile or enabling merchant tools. Here are answers to frequent questions about qualifying Business Use:

Is receipt of mining proceeds considered a "Business Use?" No. In general, the receipt of virtual currency from mining activity does not meet the definition of Business Use, since it is not a payment you received from a customer for your provision of goods or services.
What about virtual currency I transfer in from another wallet I control? If you use multiple virtual currency wallets and transfer virtual currency into your Coinbase Account, that transfer should be excluded from the 1099-K form, since it is not a payment from your customer.

anyway, as a miner I think you are ok from the above....

but again,double check coinbase
