Ah...you are misinformed...none of the above are involved with this coin...it's spam

the project is more or less dead, no info from devs....and as far as I can tell no one can tell me an exchange that even takes garlicoin to try

and sell anymore...(not that you'd have any luck IMHO)

but if there is an exchange out there I can still try to sell on let me know. Cryptopia no longer sells garlicoin etc

brad
Someone mentioned this coin on twitter! Are they trying to sell the remaining coins? Cryptopia delisted GRLC? It's incredible the devaluation of this coin, so there are no devs? And the community? This coin came up strong on Reddit, and what happened? The curious thing is that Nanex and CB negotiate it! A few days ago the price was 42 sat! Is Scrypt-N more interesting? GarliCoin does not have a decent wallet for windows.

1) New optimized AMD Miner: https://www.reddit.com/r/garlicoin/comments/9iwdad/an_amd_miner_for_allium_coins/

This is still too far from optimal.

Yeah, I sold the last of my Garlicoin from the Titan ASIC haul, mainly because their main site has not had a working link to their wallets and other links for more

then a month...thus they don't give a sh*t ...I dumped it all. Actually, that dump the other week of 81,155 Garlicoin was me Smiley

Its fine thou, I killed on the previous scrypt-n mining. Smiley

But, the devs of this project seem to have lost all interest in their own coin, very soon after the change from scrypt-n to the new algo. I think, they

took the money and dumped then and are out.

brad

Actually the srypt-n was better. Yeah, there were some asics, but with the newer algo AMD miners were closed out. They picked a new algo without proper support, huge mistake.

The catch is if they went back to scrypt-n or did a blended algo or something...the price would pump. Lots of KNC Titans ASIC's in the world that can do scrypt-N yet.

They really, really missed the boat on this. A buddy tried talking to them to do something else with the coin, the response was ' we are a meme coin, we will be like

dodge, because everyone likes 'garlic bread' canned response.

Wish I had some skills, I'd make a scrypt-N coin with masternodes with a plan to eventually be a POS coin when the KNC ASIC Titans would eventually wear out. IF

siacoin can make its own network coin, for the purpose of ASIC security of the network etc, well, it would work in this context as well.

Alas, no skills, to pull any of this off. Sad

sheesh

ICO market is dead. Probably now it's the right time to invest

Looked into a couple ICO's, they said they were not allowed in the USA. Is that true for all now?

not really into ICO's but curious...

There will be only one chain, not two
Sia will still be blake2b coin

https://blog.sia.tech/sia-fork-faqs-c6b3e0e73ce0

Although I am running a sync'ed Sia-UI wallet, most of my SC is in Bittrex.
I guess there will be a "Sic-Classic coin" post the fork, and in order to be able to get those coin, I think it is better to transfer the SC from
the exchange to the wallet, in case Bittrex does not support the legacy SC..

probably a good idea...others should note this..thou..it maybe a month or so after the Oct 31st fork, before anything like this may come to pass..

Charlee Lie and Litecoin team can do this.
i agree with you in future litecoin could be a very big crypto currency
Volume has risen recent days. It's early good signal for growth period to come.

right now crypto market is facing frustrating because of the low volume  but this means crypto not over
its just a start the next last three months of 2018 is very important for crypto and lite coin is in top 10 crypto
i think litecoin price could go up to 100$ in next three months.
I don't think bitcoin ETF will keep dramatically impacting the whole market last months of 2018. Bitcoin ETF has finished their missions this year.

and about bitcoin ETF that's postpone in 2019

I'm starting to believe like a lot of folks that the SEC will not accept an ETF until all the 'dubious' exchanges worldwide are in check. That, IMHO, is a 2 year

process. No real reason for the SEC to rush on this in any way, again, IMHO..they could still and likely will stall this ETF for years yet. Would love to be 'dead

wrong' but there is the only downside from the bureaucrats' point of view on risking this...no upside....thus usual non-action is what I am expecting.

will be great if one of the devs will answer here to clear this question marks....

Devs can not provide an answer concerning the continuation of mining on the legacy chain ... Simply put, a chain lives as long as there are people mining (on) it. A chain lives means that there is a coin. So, either the non-obelsik miners stop mining and then the legacy chain will die, or they continue mining and it will live. Obelisk miners will mine on the hard forked chain (the new main chain). Given the fact that I don't think non-obelsik miners will be willing to throw away their equipment, it's highly probable they will continue mining on the legacy chain.

There will be only one chain, not two
Sia will still be blake2b coin

https://blog.sia.tech/sia-fork-faqs-c6b3e0e73ce0

yeah, but I'm still betting the other 4/5's of all blake2b miners which are NOT obelisk's will fork to a new coin. Likely just go with the old chain and  call

themselves 'Siacoin Classic' would be my bet as the most likely. It is that or they are all Doorstops on Nov 1st, 2018. That won't happen.

Does anyone believe in the revival of Lightcoin? Technologically, the coin is very outdated. There are already many different forks that are more technologically advanced.

It is not that IMHO, it is the hype of the 'debit card' and such that got the price to the highs...right now I see them doing nothing of any note ..but the usual hanging on BTC coat tails.

As I've said before, BCH is now the silver to BTC gold at a what is it $500 price...LTC is rapidly turning into yesterday's news

announce you're doing frigging something of note..this is crypto..buying 10% of a bank someplace does not cut it etc etc

Litecoin will be listed on 13th October (and Bitcoin Cash will soon be supported as well, making it fifth one on Gemini).
Oh, God.
This is really breaking news.
Being listed on Gemini in the middle of October this year is much more than all of my expectations on Litecoin.
Congrats for the upcoming appearance on Gemini.

Being LTC it will have no effect...will simply keep price (of whatever) sideways..... (sorry, LTC is like the crazy Aunt in the Attic. Everyone, knows she is there, but no one will talk about it)

Theres NO 10-15 TIMES MORE COINS NOW THAN THEY PLANNED. You can repeat it 1000 times, it won't become truth.
Actually 2 years ago you could calculate exactly how many coins would be circulating now,  with 2-3% accuracy.

well there is a hell of a lot more difficulty out there than there was....

thus there has to be more coins out their than they planned IF they were the only asic's in town

as they planned to be at this point in time in 2018.

difficulty goes up ..you run thru the coins faster and put them into the world? right?

still confused...clarify....if coin price determined by how many exist vs equip costs of the network etc?

not trying to slam here...but all them 4/5's of NON obeblisk blake2b miners got some kinda benifit from

all this.....so i'm confused if what you say is true...why the fork? It should make no difference in price

etc from what you say....4-5k of obelisks after the fork are not gonna generate enough to effect any

of this...thus why fork? where is the profit in doing so? why bother?

again, not a slam...use small words...

brad

4-5k obelisks will generate exactly the same amount of coins as million of innosilicon asics would.

Difference is, your Obelisk would get 1sc per month in that scenario, this way your obelisk
will get 1000 per day (totally made this number, but if you want, I can calculate excat profit for exact
number of obelisks because amount of sia coins per day is a constant number

Difficulty is magic wand here, the more ASICs(hashpower if you like) the bigger the difficulty...it auto-adjusts
to make number of coins per day constant

Pretty good explanation can be found here (and in better English, as its my 4th language, lol):

https://siasetup.info/learn/mining_and_forks

so you are saying that price of siacoin does not matter the amount of coin ..thru difficulty..that happens to exist at any point in time

the non siacoin miners 4/5's ran difficulty up (i'm assuming) more so than if only 1/5th was how siatech

envisioned such when they made the units and thought they were gonna be the only game in town in 2018.

So, how is price determined? Is it all speculation and thus the amount of coin in existence does not matter?

We are just farther along in the difficulty curve?

Also, why the big push by obelisk for ASIC's is it only the supposed 'secure network' they wanted for their

cloud storage vision as they say?

So If I'm following this correctly at this point in time 4/5's of all coin in exitence is 'owned' or mined

by say 4/5's of non obelisk equipment (gpu's/purchace of such/non siatech obelisks)

so .the ONLY angle that an obelisk sc-1 has 'with the fork' is that it can continue to mine and get siacoin

as the 'supposed' only miner on the hash network ...ASIC wise with the fork?

Assuming, I'm following the above (big assumption) than how does their cloud storage vision

come into this whole thing asic's vs price etc?

again, maybe it is all moot ..and the value of siacoin will tank to dust...if their cloud storage

vision does not come to pass (the reason for siacoin supposedly)

On a side note on asic's I'm guessing we will have an annoucement soon (if not already) of a siacoin

classic coin (for the NON-forked asic units in the world) ...wait for it..just saying...no idea what it means

but I myself would bet on it

thanks for the clarification..let me know what you think about the above...just trying to flesh this all out

in some manner.

brad

p.s. as to the free decred miner I'm getting (at least I used the 5 1/2 coupons for something) that is

looking pretty dire...but at least I swap'd the coupons for better 'wall art' Smiley

2013  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Future of Litecoin on: October 03, 2018, 06:55:00 PM
I have been holding lLitecoin since 2014, I think when market starts to grow, price of the coin will be higher, it’s strange that there were a lot of good news agencies, but this did not affect the course of the coin. Even the news of purchase of a German bank did not help.

Still, think the main issue is bitcoin cash (bch) has been trying to replace litecoin as the alterntive store of

value coin ...that LTC used to have kinda exclusively...thus 'newbies' I've met only know about BCH and BTC

have shown no real interest in LTC as they seem to think BCH is the real deal.

Supposedly, in their mind, the more recent fork of BCH is more 'legit' etc and of course the price to a newbie

of $500 looks impressive vs $60 LTC.

Not saying I like it, but have tripped over this view from new folk, quite a bit.

brad
2014  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sia - Decentralized Storage on: October 03, 2018, 06:45:48 PM

Sorry, small issues (kinda yet) Smiley

1) 10-15x of more siacoin that they expected is in the wind, when they thought they'd be the only blake2b

ASIC at this point in time,  much, much, more than they needed for the supposed

You still think number of coins mined is dependant on network hash rate?

coins to their decentralized network cloud mining plans yes...regular hash rate NO...

from what I understand siacoin ASIC's are used to protect the network...siacoin price

will be derived from such....thus the fork...thus a lot of siacoin (tokens) that will be in play

for the value derived from their 'cloud storage' solution.

inform me how I am wrong on this...if 1) siacoin's price now is due to scarcity and speculative

pump and 2) how this plays out with the 2nd and 3rd leg of this stool (assuming the fork is leg 1)
r
leg 2 being the cloud storage network for value and leg three being the ASIC's to run such.

I'm just saying all the parts have to be in play

again, where have I stray'd in your view on how this all is gonna shake out?

my terms are likely incorrect..but how I see this. IF siacoin price is dependent on the decentalized

cloud storage that sia-tech wants to compete with...and the siacoin is the coin/price...how does

having a crap load of coin in the world now 10-15x more than they expected when they were the only

supposed blake2b obelisk maker this year? Again, how does that work for value now of their vision?

or hell maybe it does not matter 10x-15x the siacoin in the world or not..if the cloud storage method

flops...the coin flops and price flops no matter how many exist...

again, educate me on how the price of all this siacoin is reflected in price on a cloud storage network

that is not up to speed yet? All speculation? Amount of siacoin is irrelevant to such?

again, how do you all see this as panning out?

I cannot find the final date for the hard fork, but finally the shoe drops.
I wish the team can then move forward after the ASIC thing coming to an end and focus on improving the Sia project itself.
There are more competing decentralized storage projects coming out, I think the Sia team needs to hurry up.

a buddy said the siacoin fork was Oct 31st, 2018 (Halloween) ...seems appropriate Smiley
2016  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sia - Decentralized Storage on: October 02, 2018, 04:41:52 AM

Well, IMHO, IF they really did incorporate an ASIC hardware solution in their Siacoin Obelisk miners and the

Obelisk decred miners, I think they need to have that as an option in firmware for a new algo and coin

to take advantage of this. Ideally, that coin/token would be used to run the siacoin network and/or

allowing only Obelisk hardware to be the backbone from the get-go.

If not that, at least opening up this hardware to other algo options would be something.

Again, if that actually exists, as they state or it was just a 'false flag' attempt to slow Bitmain down

back in the day.

Likely, as much as the devs say the price of siacoin does not matter to their cloud storage project, the

probably are as heavily invested as everyone else. But again, IMHO, if they were ONLY a hardware

manufacturer, they would already have used that asic hardware option in firmware to try and develop

a different algo and encourage developers to use such on their coin

Anyway, decred miners are doomed, you'd think at least they would use such for the decred miner or at

least do what the innsilicon folk have done with their firmware to allow HCASH coin mining.

If nothing else, that seems to be a firmware fix the could do of note to make their obelisk decred

miner MAYBE float a bit longer, rather than sink. (not sure why I'm bothering got my 1 decred coming

for giving away my 5 1/2 off obelisk coupons back in the day...even that likely will not make over electric

use, by the time I get it..just saying) well, it looks dire....just my 2 satoshi's worth ..we will see I guess

1) 10-15x of more siacoin that they expected is in the wind, when they thought they'd be the only blake2b

ASIC at this point in time,  much, much, more than they needed for the supposed

Sia-Tech anonymous and decentralized cloud storage network. That is to compete with Amazon Cloud

at 10c to the $1 Amazon Pricing. Still, deafening silence on that, not near complete enough to handle

the obelisk ASIC's IMHO, not to mention all that Siacoin,  in the world, mentioned above, in which price is

based on 'scarcity' and 'real world use' which they are nowhere near yet. These are still daunting tasks.

The other point is on Oct 31st, is it? When they fork you really, really, think that Bitmain and the others are

NOT gonna fork a 'Siacoin Classic'? Of course, they are, or their units are toasters. Not to mention in 3

months, by my guessing, that Bitmain will make a 'forked' coin ASIC, just because. (Bitmain: We are evil, it

is what we do!) (tm Bitmain)

It is a step in the right direction, but they have a lot of work to do yet, to keep Siacoin viable IMHO.

As usual, I really, really, hope I'm dead wrong...but don't count your chickens and all that yet, etc etc.

The main FJC explorer on the main www.fujicoin.org site is still down (English Version)

I found a 'lite' FJC explorer in Japanese that at least shows you total coins etc.

Use this link: http://namuyan.dip.jp/MultiLightBlockExplorer/address.php?coin=fuji&address=Fdnh9DosNUCsYvsHqZW2FFtrhCtHX4LRdg

It is ugly as heck, but it works. Take all values by 1,000 as it is in K format for FJC amounts.

(sorry, all I got) Sad

edit: just looked at the above links to my addresses. I can get my numbers, but none of them seem to be

updating the totals on the FJC address. Hell, I may just be mining air, till they get this fixed? As far the

units on FJC pools go, all is just dandy. (Likely mining FJC 'air' as is my lot in life) Sad

whatever, told the OP motty on here (FJC Dev) yesterday. So everything is still in the wind. FYI.

Obelisk is a USA company, so I gather you are out of the USA. Let us know, how they approach this. Maybe it will be easier to get an exemption going out of USA then coming in. good luck
