Any idea when the blockexplorer works again :
http://www.multifaucet.tk/index.php?blockexplorer=SLOTH

2015.09.18 server will shut down for maintenance. It takes about 1-3 days.
322  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Crypto Bullion (CBX) | Est. 2013 | PoSP (in development) | PoV (Genesis) on: September 04, 2015, 10:23:28 AM

Thanks for the warning. There are still over 2,500 CBX on sale on Coins-E... At least if the info is still correct. The site does load for me https://www.coins-e.com/exchange/CGB_BTC/
They also replied on Twitter so still chance you could get coins back.

It might be my connection then, as i have made more then a few attempts over the past month to access it without success and others have also said it was not loading for them.

No replies from their support after multiple attempts to contact them, and the last time the site was loading for me (some months ago) the onsite ticket system would not work for me, and any emails i sent to the listed email addresses on their contact page would get bounced back a few hours later.

i will try it again, but i would not recommend using this exchange to anyone.
323  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Crypto Bullion (CBX) | Est. 2013 | PoSP (in development) | PoV (Genesis) on: September 04, 2015, 08:55:53 AM
guess i'm a little late for this, but i would like to suggest BitBullion or btCBX, as i didnt see in the poll or suggested elsewhere.

BitBullion as a name may provide some small advantage as by having Bit & bt it maintains a small reference to BitCoin, while also acting as an appropriate sounding prefix for 0.01CBX or a "bit" of Bullion. Cheesy
1 btCBX = 1 BitBullion = 0.01 CBX
100 BitBullion = 100 btCBX = 1 CBX

@elambert, raizor - Coins-E should be removed from OP as they no longer exist and site does not load.   For some time it been regarded as scam exchange but only recently have the owners decided to finally shutdown and disappear with no warning or notice given to users, and of course they took with them whatever user coins they still held. Sad
324  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] MangoCoinz Official ANN Thread - Mine cryptocurrencies on you smart phone on: September 01, 2015, 10:10:05 PM
any chance we can trade Mangozcoin at Bittrex ?

The present two exchange sites are all sound.  Mangocoinz activities and trading should increase a lot when bugs are all fixed and Apple stores app is ready for use.

Starting to get to another exchange site makes sense even just for the occasional rainy days somewhere else.

It got me nervous when I just saw one person posted this message ( and probably his computer and not the exchange site was hacked) at BANX.IO:

Quote
oh my god i got hacked, someone with adress 1FvFuB4i6cqtySQ6bwooZ2dGkUfEkTyHH8 sell my coin and withdraw all -.- very sad -.

 Smiley

most likely his computer, this is the address you posted https://blockchain.info/address/1FvFuB4i6cqtySQ6bwooZ2dGkUfEkTyHH8, it shows about 0.008 BTC or ~$2USD withdrawn.

Coins stored is only as safe as the user is with their password/PIN/2FA code, if they dont have good practices, use pirated windows/apps or in public computers then they can only blame themselves.

Banx.io is very secure site if not the most secure out of all, and has never been hacked or compromised.

325  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] MangoCoinz Official ANN Thread - Mine cryptocurrencies on you smart phone on: August 29, 2015, 06:35:36 PM
Hi,all:
1szb.com have delisted mcz yesterday,if you have any mcz deposit on this exchange, please withdraw your coins as soon as possible.

1szb.com if they say it needs to withdraw is ASAP is misleading as they can send anytime,  the mangoz advantage is that it does not need miners to keep working,  anyone can send/withdraw coins anytime even if 0 people are shaking their phones.  this is something 99% of altcoins are incapable of.  sure a few have android wallets or attempt to imitate the instant transfer but they have to bypass there own blockchain to do so, this is what webwallets do so its really fast but you have to trust that the owner of website will not steal your coins.
or use insecure 0% confirmations.  mangoes are always 100% confirmation and reliable transfer.  this is the mango advantage not have blocks or blockchain, its simple client-server "send this coin from userA to user B". can not find an altcoin that is faster then that right now.  only the exploited Stellar (STR) & corrupt Ripple (XRP) projects have this same ability which with the huge premines, violations of user privacy and proven untrustworthy developers behind them will never be able to maintain a high price or gain acceptance.

MCZ has some good developers who shown they can deliver, will not screw their users and are behind one of the most innovative and original projects that exists in altcoins today. Wink

I'm keeping my MCZ and buying the dips, this is a great chance to get some cheap coins thanks to the panic a few people caused Wink

326  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] MangoCoinz Official ANN Thread - Mine cryptocurrencies on you smart phone on: August 23, 2015, 02:38:23 PM
Aren't we missing something?

=================================================================================
Good! Let's compare Mangocoinz to Bitcoin.

BTC block time 10 min, Block reward 25 BTC   <------- This is not even scaled.

MCZ block time 0.0-1.5 seconds, block reward (variable)  0.000-0.053 MCZ   <--------- This is highly scaled "Decimals"

https://mangocoinz.com/blockchain
==================================================================================
In order to maintain its present attractive status for all smartphone users to become miners and usesr and to stay so for the foreseeable future, there are going to be problems.

Bitocoin, other than being a de facto standard, is not popular or mineable by most users. MCZ is different and it will surpass Bitcoin.

Now, there are around 40-100 block rewards per minute (based on my estimates over the past few days) for Mangocoins and this occurred by the boasted > 2500 or higher users.

One day, God forbids, if ,e.g., 25 millions of smartphone users are active miners, and up to 1 million block rewards per minutes would probably occur by that times. Now, even if the block rewards are reduced to 0.0005 MCZ, up to 1 million x 0.0005 x24x60 or up to 0.7 million MCZ would be mined daily- the rewards would need to be more or less proportionally decreased long before that; otherwise, the mining would be ended in few weeks.

There are hundred of millions of smartphone sells per year ( and increasing.)

Bitcoin did not start first block rewards of few BTC per block and not even now.

mcz does not have blocks, those are syncs.  they are not blocks being mined and no work is being doned.  the blockchain page is only able to give some transparency and show the flow/generation of MCZ to users.

unless MCZ app is getting bundled in smartphones in china, highly improbably we would ever have 25M miners.  25 million users however could happen, and currently they are able purchase whole units of MCZ relatively cheap, just like how people could buy 100 or 1000 BTC for a $1 years ago.

This is also seems to be assumption that the only future and purpose for mangoz is one where people are only are "mining" instead of investment/holding and of course using it as a currency for goods and trading. The transactions are fast because there is no mining, it is a central server/db updates users when they sync their phones.  no blockchain being kept on peoples devices, this is one advantage of a MCZ over typical altcoins, is that everyone can use it immediately without delays.  This is similar to ripple or stellar centralization, except we do not have some greedy scam devs who gave themselves 97% of the coins to inflate their marketcap and give themselves a free ride to riches on the 3% they doled out to users.  Everyone shaking or buying MCZ right now is buying into a coin with a supply that has been more fairly created then ripple/stellar and a great number of altcoins that had premines by scam devs on them.
327  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Crypto Bullion (CBX) | Est. 2013 | PoSP (in development) | PoV (Genesis) on: August 23, 2015, 04:01:59 AM
looks like we earn a lot of down-votes in bter guys...let's keep up voting...

raizor thanks for update

Yeah - I put in my 100-120 votes daily. We are still winning (going up) - I suggest that nobody from CBX downvote the leader... 1 extra vote for CBX = good for CBX, 1 downvote for leader = good for every other coin; so downvoting isn't worth it

Not trying to be a wet rag here or dampen the enthusiasm but i feel i have to mention this as i see potential for bter to exploit people voting here,  i stopped using bter seriously some time ago as i simply don't trust that exchange anymore (several tickets unresolved, they got hacked, they got hacked again  Roll Eyes , bitbay scam, FIAT lost/stuck there).

You mentioned the downvoting so feel i should point out the possibility for BTER manipulating voters here - eg owners see coins being voted on and downvote to milk trades/btc out of their users.

imho a better chinese altcoin exchange to target would be btc38, which has much higher volume by comparison and a better reputation.
328  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] MangoCoinz Official ANN Thread - Mine cryptocurrencies on you smart phone on: August 23, 2015, 03:33:48 AM
In short, having New Mangocoin vs Old Mangocoin, by name, in facts does not even need to change a thing in the database files.

It is simply a matter of how it is displayed and how it is called.  Therefore, it would look more just like this

Total:

*This is new Mangocoin; this is the same as 125.00 old Mangocoins.

Or anythings to that effect.  Cheesy

6 months- one year after the change and upgrades by the whole community, the footnote would be probably no longer necessary.  Cheesy

as soon as this change occurs there would be a massive dump on standing orders on exchanges, inflating the number of coins in this manner not a trivial thing.  Do people really want to own 1000NewMangos at 0.0000003BTC instead of 1 MCZ at 0.0003BTC ?  and we do have this thing called decimals, what wrong with owning 0.5 MCZ if in future it trades for 0.004 or $2?

the purpose of this change seems to be to satisfy a demand for to own "more" coins like how a government/central bank would by issuing more but decreasing the power of each coin Sad
why would you want intentionally resist a higher demand for your current MCZ and the result of a increased price/exchange rate for them?  Huh

whatever happens exchanges would need to informed in advanced so markets can be frozen and orderbooks cleared, it would be terrible for mangocoinz if someone accidently bought NewMCZ at the old price. Sad
329  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Banx Shares - Bitcoin profits paid monthly on: August 23, 2015, 03:14:47 AM
I have noticed today my 2FA code no longer works.Anyone else have this problem? Even turned my VPN off in case that was the problem.

Works for me. Maybe your phone is out of sync?

working for me also, 2FA not working usually means one of the parties time is out of sync. If syncing your clock doesn't help then after sync trying adjusting your time in 15s or 30s steps back/forward as very rarely it can be the site that is out of sync with time.
330  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Sloth] Slothcoin - SHA3 - UPDATE TO 1.3 - Digishield on: August 23, 2015, 03:06:56 AM
Slothcoin 1.3.1 [build 2] has been released.
Currently only GNU-Linux binaries and sourcecode available

All data available at www.slick.cf/coin/sloth

May the Sloth be with you!

i'm using windows so cant try it out yet.   Undecided

but wow so much activity, sloth is moving fast, thanks for taking it up Cheesy

I also have some suggestions,  if there is going to be a hard fork seems a good time to improve and address some other issues affecting our sloth

Has coincontrol been added in the new build?  would be really helpful maintaining our wallet.dat

difficulty adjustment? can DGW from DASH be implemented? from what i understand its currently the most advanced of the KGW, and fixes the issues with earlier versions of KGW which i think will fix the Sloth problem of long delays in finding the next block after large hash hits and then leaves after pushing difficulty up really high.

New ANN page, unlikely we get an updated OP here so it would good to have new thread that can be updated and reflect current status, info, exchanges, partners etc on sloth.

331  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BlackCoin (BC) | PoS | No premine | No IPO on: August 21, 2015, 12:18:44 AM
I'm wondering if there is any way to force the staking mechanism to stake certain coin blocks ahead of others, especially when the coins are much older in terms of coin age?

I don't understand why I have many coin blocks (~42,000 coins in total) that last staked between 2 months (June 2015) to 1 year (May 2014), according to what's showing in coin control.  Sad

reservebalance could be used to block larger inputs from staking set it to a value lower then your total balance and only the inputs that fall under the difference between the reserved amount and your total wallet balance will be allowed to stake.
another thing i've noticed is BLK wallet needs to left open longer now to stake, no more "instastaking", have to let it run and node for a bit.  i think this was another improvement that was added to last release so as to reward those that provide better support and protect the network.

332  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Sloth] Slothcoin - SHA3 - UPDATE TO 1.3 - Digishield on: August 19, 2015, 05:25:14 PM
Hm, something says me that there is something going on with root of all coins...?
Seems that even SN spoke from the hidden again.

But anyway, almost done with the (rebranded) fork.

sounds good, what changes are you making?  block 300000 is around 36000 blocks away, should allow everyone enough time to update.

Noticed there is a Sloth Coin:1.3.0.1 on the network, someone tinkering?  is there an updated walletqt available yet for windows users?

Definitely on board with anyone that can help slothcoin Smiley

333  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Exclusive Coin - Cryptsy/Bittrex, CAT bot, Loads of News! on: August 07, 2015, 03:40:02 AM
You guys should update the wallet a bit, maybe slow down the Block times so that the Blockchain doesn't grow so quickly, you should go full POS as well.

If anything you could update and add some new features, decide on a hardfork if needed.

i also think it would be positive to get the block time under control, and also to make a less resource intensive code base.

i dont see the point in running the daemon atm. i need to leave it running for 24/7 with nothing else happening on the server or else it never syncs let alone stakes.

i also agree with this and its been mentioned a few times now.  EXCL needs to address this, other coins with similar parameters have lost their momentum because of issues like this,  too many blocks a minute and dust amounts being allowed to stake will spoil and prevent adoption of this coin long term as the wallet will simply be too troublesome for an average user.
other changes that would benefit add a min required input for example of 50 EXCL and then prevent lesser amounts from staking.  Also add auto combining of inputs for staking so that dust and previously split inputs can regroup upto the newly specified coin amount.

334  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] SERVCHAIN - SHA256 Bitcoin Cloud Mining on: August 02, 2015, 11:39:27 AM
so what proof is there is of this mining operation?  photos dont mean much.
is there a video of you guys giving a tour?
and why keep the address you mine to private?  it additional proof that you are really mining and not operating a ponzi as many other cloud mining scams have been.
335  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Crypto Bullion (CBX) | Est. 2013 | Join the Proof-of-Value Network (Genesis) on: July 31, 2015, 02:06:46 PM
Proof of Value looks interesting, it took a few moments for me to understand it but makes alot of sense now.  One thing i would like to suggest is that seems awkward if someone wanted to verify these printouts/photos so why not also include a QR code on the printout/photo for convenient scanning?
Signed messages that have been posted can also be turned as is into a QR code and as they can store upto 4296 characters, its more then enough room to contain the message in its entirety.

With the QR code included on the printout/photo or just included with the post, it then a really easy to scan with phone to grab the text.  alternatively the QR could be something simpler like a link to the address on blockchain  that is being used in the signed msg.

Universities getting funded to the tune of $3M USD to do research on cryptocurrencies and smart contracts
tax dollars at work, guess they never heard of blackhalo  Grin

Focus on smart contracts

The initiative will devote resources to developing new systems that enable expanded transaction scalability, privacy and user functionality. Smart contracts will be a major focus of the initiative, building on prior work by University of Maryland researchers.

One such project is Hawk, a blockchain system that enables private smart contracts to be written but not disclosed to the public. Developed jointly by Cornell and the University of Maryland, Hawk was unveiled in early June and will see further refinement and development as the IC3 project commences, according to Shi.

The work builds off previous efforts conducted at the University of Maryland last fall, during which time faculty and students formed a smart contracts laboratory to explore potential issues and opportunities. A research paper on that initiative can be found here.

One of the major findings, according to Shi, was that “it is extremely easy to make mistakes programming smart contracts”. This, she explained, raises the risk that funds can be irretrievably lost or diverted by “a selfish counterparty” as a result of such an error.

“This is where we can greatly benefit from formal program analysis techniques,” she said.

From what i understand doesnt Blackcoin and blackhalo already address the issue of a selfish counterparty?
338  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] WorldCoin WDC | The Global Digital Currency on: July 26, 2015, 03:33:30 AM
The original post of this thread seems vaguely to hint that it might be possible to mine this coin, but since no algorithm/miner is specified how is anyone able to actually mine it?

What do you do, try every mining software and hardware out there in each configuration/algo until you get lucky and happen upon one that seems to work?

Why is the mining method/algo such a secret???

-MarkM-

When WDC came out there were only 2 common algos SHA256D & Scrypt, so maybe thats why it wasn't mentioned as all new alts used scrypt.
339  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][NTRN v2] RESERVED for Neutron take over - ETA take over 15/08/2015 on: July 26, 2015, 02:33:02 AM
Here have some common sense thrown at you    Kiss Kiss Kiss Kiss Kiss

"There appears to be an argument on the thread around the rich list and whether it really represents the distribution of a coin. Most whales know that you send coins from the exchange to separate wallets to allow them to stake independently of each other when you hold 10-20% of the total supply of a coin. If people really knew how much a handful of people held they would not buy the price up. Same goes for this one. Remember - this staking bug not only cuts out payment entirely for anyone dumb enough to still be running a masternode but it rewards the staker with 38 NTRN. The distribution does indeed skew wildly in favor of those using the exploit and those who started using it months ago. It's not trivial and it most certainly cannot be swept under the carpet. Anyone who buys NTRN knowing what we now know to be true is a damned fool. There's gambling - and then there's throwing BTC away. "

You really are desperate lol

There is no exploit only your FUD and desperate attempts to scare people away.  everything you said is misinformation, exaggeration and outright lying.

you call yourself craveit, so you must like that coin yet this coin is tainted 99% by the same "exploit" you claim exists in NTRN.  So by your reasoning NTRN is actually better seeing as its onyl 33% taint by this  Roll Eyes  Crave and Dash are the only coins with MN enforcement turned on now, and the so called tainted did not affect adoption or their price so how do explain that?  If NTRN did turn enforcement it would likely result in the price going up but this not desirable in the early stage of a MN coin.
You are maybe too dumb to understand that enforcement is something that comes later as you continue to post garbage in Neturon threads yet Neturon is one of the few that has FAIR distribution (not crave or dash), No exploits in code, no hidden mining (eg pharma), fully working blockchain that is not forking on every block (eg 8bit).  There are certainly issues it needs addressed for future development but you have not touched on any of these, only point out parameters that are present in all coins.

Please go away, this is obviously not the first time you have used FUD to drag the price down on a coin so you can flip and accumulate cheaper. how desperate are you?  I dont mind cheaper coins but your actions here only serve yourself and diminish support for what is really good altcoin, that has been working flawlessly and will continue to work as the other MN altcoins fail because of REAL exploits and bugs in their design.

Find a REAL bug/exploit in NTRN and post here if you want to help, but stop making up nonsense and twisting things.

@Dev / Goldmaxx / OP please start a new moderated thread, this craveit guy will only continue his bad behaviour.  He has many other sockpuppets and has done this in other coins threads as well.  He he not worth giving any attention to and will post almost any nonsense just to scare people away or drive the price down.
340  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Sloth] Slothcoin - SHA3 - UPDATE TO 1.3 - Digishield on: July 22, 2015, 08:34:42 PM

What happens at block 600001?
Is it a sustain (like 10k there after)??

Currently as it it will be transaction fees only.

If you going to mine SLOTH or to try out for a few hours only? there no need to throw all your hash at it currently, set cgminer to low/minimal intensity.   this way you will not set the difficulty ridiculously high and cause delays. Easy solo for everyone - DBAA Wink

We really need some updated binaries for everyone and upgrade from KGW to DGW to fix the difficulty and blockchain delays that can occur whenever large hash is thrown at the coin.  Coincontrol and large quantity/transaction patch from pennies would be nice as well.

anyway some other links here :

WALLET & MINING
Want to mine? What you need is below, you can use latest maxcoin miner software, the one posted below might be out of date.

Windows walletqt
Slothcoin-windows 1.3.0.rar 10.6 MB
https://mega.co.nz/#!9RgUlLDb!z3vA6sSKZPs_Ay3LBhh3opdarb_xf-V0gyTWnHBKFXo

Be aware it will trigger any antivirus software you have because of the IRC lookup for nodes.  IRC is useless for finding nodes now. You can get the addnodes from the blockexplorer then add to slothcoin.conf.  Also run the wallet with -noirc so the irc lookup is disabled. eg: "slothcoin-qt.exe -noirc"

GPU miner (included conf is set to solomine, you should change the username/pass and tweak for your own gpu)
