1062  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: New Exchange Broker on: January 25, 2014, 03:02:54 AM
I pay $1M per bitcoin. I'm looking for up to 10,000 bitcoins. First-come, first-served! Grin

Put it on moneypaks and send me them, then I'll send you the BTC.

Also... it always amazes me when these for-profit sites include statements like this:

Quote
Donations are accepted at 1kqHKEYYC8CQPxyV53nCju4Lk2ufpQqA2

If you're a for profit company, why are you asking for donations?  I certainly don't feel moved to donate to help McDonalds sell their burgers... The way most companies get "donations" is to go public and sell stock.

Thats not the site, they iframed cryptocharts into their webpage and made it seem like part of their site for comparison i guess lol

If you look at his post history he is has been doing nothing since creating his account here but attempt to spam and attempt to con newbies out of their bitcoins with his fake site.
He also has account on LocalBitcoins, and one person has already blocked him for attempting to shift a trade offsite. https://localbitcoins.com/accounts/profile/bitcoins4currency.com/

Looking at the deposit address they provided, he already duped a few people who will likely never see the money or have it reversed at some point in the near future.  With a min. order of 0.5BTC, scam has been structured to get a nice amount of BTC in short period of time.

Some googling/whois reveals the creator of this has been slowly building up their scam since start of this year.

He should get a scammer tag / banned on here.

Its a scam site.  Don't be fooled. OP is a scammer attempting to steal your bitcoins.
1064  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: HW errors on block erupters on: January 25, 2014, 01:17:33 AM
what coin are you trying to mine?  Block erupters/ASICs can only mine bitcoins/SHA-256 based cryptos?  It can't mine Scrypt based cryptos.
Alternatively it can mine MED (Mediterraneancoin) a coin that uses HybridScryptHash256 and employs CPU and ASICs to mine, at current difficulty you can find a block a day with 1 or 2 BEs.
1065  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NXT stolen on: January 24, 2014, 08:27:12 AM
I'd guess brute force attack.. sorry about that sucks.

Make a new account and I'll send you 3 NXT

BTW i think the nxt client recommends super long passwords.

That is very nice of you. Thanks but I am not here to ask for NXTs. Smiley

I am more concern of the security and the future of NXT. If stealing NXT is just the matter of guessing one's password, then its security is nothing compared
to the good ol' Bitcoin.

10 characters is too short, you need to use at least 50 characters for NXT.  use a random password generator to make it.

I don't think the average Joe would go through that kind of trouble to do that, it is a good thing to have a 50 char password but it is just not practical.
I suppose more than 15 char is recommended.

My thoughts on the security aspects. If the wallet provides you with the option of having a password, shouldn't it be the second line of defense instead of being the only one ?

NXT requires a complete change in thinking.  There is no wallet.dat to protect. The passphrase/password is the same as the privatekey in bitcoin type cryptos!  Entering that passphrase in NXT wallet is like importing a privatekey into a bitcoin wallet.
The more complicated your passphrase the more secure your NXT will be, and like privatekeys in bitcoin each passphrase equals one unique NXT address.

More information on security for NXT can be found here http://wiki.nxtcrypto.org/wiki/Account_Security

1068  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Is cryptsy losing to coinedUP? on: January 23, 2014, 07:12:04 AM
cryptsy has the appearance of being a leader as for a long time it was the only place to trade altcoins, and i guess being american exchange they get more media attention there as well but so many bugs/issues i think they are slowly losing users to other exchanges now like coinex and coinedup.

it seems like they also manipulate new coin listings as well to give impression its valuable eg 42 is a manipulated coin launch, , it began at ridiculously high price before real trading began, the tradebook was even frozen for a few hours so even matching buys after the inital price fixing did not go through.  its not fair to the traders who bought some beleving the hype about rarity and expecting it to go up, place buys over the overpriced buy orders that were frozen.
A fair release of 42/BTC would hav been to let the market decide its value, instead there were overpriced buy/sells minutes after it was listed, too early to believe that they were actual deposits from the miners of 42.  this type manipulation of markets i don't see how US financial authorities would allow this sort of behavior to continue if cryptsy is serious about getting USD pairs on there.

1070  Economy / Marketplace / Re: emebtc.com Bitcoin,Litecoin trade platform(PM,OKpay,Egopay,WMZ,paypal,WU,wire) on: January 22, 2014, 03:24:58 AM
sent a request a week ago, no response so far. how many claims have you processed and why can you not allow manual withdrawl?

Same situation, emailed, no response and no return of funds.   Is BTER the owner of emeBTC as this site was first advertised on bter.com?

Received all money owed.  Thanks Smiley

1071  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN - SocialCoin (SOC) JUST LAUNCHED!] The REAL Charity coin! on: January 17, 2014, 03:19:45 AM
Great to see a coin with a purpose, best of luck to all involved.  It would be really great to see some articles in the future that mention a coin like this making a difference instead of just being another crapcoin mention for those slow news days.
1072  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: My review for skypiea.thinkfenix.com on: January 16, 2014, 11:54:11 PM

1073  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [WDC] [Giveaway] [Crypto-Trade] WDC/USD its here NOW. Trade WorldCoin for USD! on: January 15, 2014, 01:15:13 AM
Sent to everyone up to here Smiley
(Please note this giveaway is only for new users signed up using my link and who have replied with their username here or in PM )

Some site updates:
12/10/2013 WDC/USD now added!,
01/02/2014 CT Helpdesk System launched! - and its part of the exchange not some 3rd party site
01/10/2014 Egopay added! - New Payment Processor Can be Used for Deposit or Withdrawal

Its finally been added! You can now trade for the first time anywhere WorldCoin for USD.
Time to dump some of that FIAT for WDC Cheesy

Now we finally have an exchange that allows us to trade WDC/USD! I'm expecting it to cross over $1 soon, and I will soon have to change the giveaway to reduce to 0.1WDC for newbie/low activity forum members.  Long time/high activity rated forum members will still get 1 WDC.  This is to discourage abuse now that WDC is fast climbing in value.  So if you been a fence sitter get in now before its gone! Wink

1074  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: STAR COIN [STR] - The coin with bonus STAR blocks on: January 14, 2014, 08:40:32 PM
Does having that checkpoint message affect ability to stake?  I have the checkpoint message, was running wallet for 2 days straight it stayed in sync and at any point i could check and see the recent block would be up to date but it never attempts to stake ?  STR that i have is months old now since last time it staked, any ideas what the problem might be?

1075  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [SCRYPT JANE] UltraCoin (UTC) - Newly Launched on: January 14, 2014, 06:44:52 AM
Can it be confirmed that CT will really add this coin. I can only find it mentioned here and @official_utc on twitter.
There is nothing yet from CT/Neotrix to support this claim that they will add it
Huh

edit: admin confirmed it Smiley
looking forward to a new coin on CT, its a rare thing that happens! Cheesy
