CAN NOBODY HERE SEE WHAT I AM POSTING?

Question: I have read your post and a bit confused. I am new to drk, can you give me a break down of how much time it should takes to send various amounts of dark anonymously?

Dark anonymizes the funds ahead of time and is constantly mixing the coin supply. This way when you need to spend, the transactions are immediate no need to wait. People are experimenting with how much time it takes to put large amount of DRK through the maximum 8 rounds of mixing which is an absolute over kill from a practical perspective, but is inevitable to want to test the system limits. But really you just anonymize once at your leisure and your anon coins sit there ready to be spent when you need to.

Indeed ! People are not getting it! ... I put my coins on a ridiculous 4 round and only took about 2h to get 4000 DRK totally anonymised, and at a fraction cost so low its almost daft to consider!!

Ok one further question.. Can you explain what is the difference between 1 round, 2 round, 3, etc of mixing. Why is 8 rounds even an option if 1 round is sufficient? How do you know how many rounds to pick to get anonymous?

The  several rounds are just to eliminate the possibility of a large number of masternodes  colluding with each other to deanon transactions. The possibility of that happening is very very low with 2 hops and with 8 rounds is just practically impossible. There is a spreadsheet showing the probabilities in the link below and also an explanation from Evan on how it works.

thx for the info. So if I understand this correctly, using this mathematics: https://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080126081910AAdbGVx
60 of the current 600 masternodes are owned by bad actors, and I send 100 transactions at a rate of 2 hops, then there is a 63% chance that one will get detected? Is this right and is there any way to avoid this if I want to do a large number of transactions anonymously?

No in that scenario there is a 0.98% chance that party that owns 60 masternodes can deanon a particular transaction. See no single masternode knows what is up in a round you have to own the 2 that are randonmly selected in each round. If only one node is selected that is not compromised the attacker looses the trail. Plus the mixing happens ahead of time and the spending at any given time so timing attacks are pointless. But I am not an expert just sharing what I understand, just wait for Kristov Atlas review which should come out soon.

What I am saying is that, since there is a .98% of any single transaction (as you have said) then given any 100 single transactions, there is a 63% that at least one of them will be discovered. This is regardless of whether the transactions are related or not, just any 100 single transactions at 1% should give a 63% chance of at least one of them being comprimised.

Use more than 2 rounds.

Ok, so at 2 rounds it's likely to be unsecure if you are doing say 3-4 transactions / day for a month with the variables above.. So let's bump the rounds up to 3 rounds. Are there statistics somewhere for that? I didn't seem them on thespreadsheet.. I'd like to figure out how many dark transactions I can make with different variables before I am likely to get caught using Dark. In addition, won't using more rounds make the anonymizing process longer? is this likely to be an inconveniently long time, or just a little bit longer. Is there any statistics for how much longer per each round? The key question I am wondering is how to find the "sweet spot" of number of rounds and convenience for anonymous transactions using DRK

DarthPiggy, read a math book first. You are right if the change on winning the lottery is 1 in 28 mil, one lottery ticket has a 100% change.......right......

So much hate, so much anger.

I was right.  Trading 7 times lower from when I wrote that.  Hope you listened to me.

Posa is crap.  Camo is crap.  This fall has been so telling.  I'm sad too no doubt, but the ecosystem is killing itself.  Anyone manipulating the price, as some think, would be killing the coin we assume they are trying to harvest.  I awoke first thing Wednesday to good news about a release candidate coming out.  It would need to be reworked.  Immediately an ass, camo, bombards the thread with his personal shit.  Fuck you.  I mean that sincerely.  Fuck off.  I have more interesting stories to tell than your litany of shit and emo narcissism.  Fuck off.

So we are left with this fall to contemplate.  I hate bugs, but who has been relentless in trying for 8 months.  Honor coin?  Kore coin?  Super coin?  The pos anom are faulted, a scam to produce the coins quickly to play ball.  Observe for yourself the distribution.  Over half the wallets of many of them are fake dust collectors. The dust will settle eventually, and an efficient market will take hold.  There is limitless value to what darkcoin possesses.  I'm in a beneficial position, of course I would have liked to sell all at the top instead of half and be left with 60 btc to buy now.  Crypto investing is nuts to say the least.  I'm sad that emo junkies have been feasting here and preying on the perfect storm.

Ethereum has sucked a lot of the tradable btc from the market.  order books are so thin across the board.  It is a totally different game.  It is my hope that in this carnage, true innovation will rise.  Good luck, however you choose to go.  I have seen nothing even close to what this is.

Kaze

It is coming, and that right soon.  Who will break ranks first.  Wallet number 4, maybe wallet number 7 or 11.  Wallet number 15-18 are the same person, maybe it will be him.  Payday is here to the few.  Take it or be mad wondering which of the few beat you to it.  One law in crypto.  What rises comes down.  It's universal truth.

How's your investment doing here? Let it flow through you. BTW, can you link me your github? I'd love to see your contribution to crypto, since you are so quick to throw criticism around.

Interesting. On top of that - it takes at least 2hours to anonymize 4000DRK? Can anyone explain the commercial applications for this? There are near instant anonymous protocols like PoSA. I just don't see anyone looking forward to waiting 2h-8h+ for anon, while there are faster solutions like Cloak's PoSA. If Bitcoin is 56k, then this is 14.4k.

Are you this dumb? Transactions are instantaneous, you only anonimize one time. This is better than the non-working scamcoin you are promoting

On the percentage on detection. If you control 60 MN on 600 you have a 0,5% of detecting a transaction, good luck with that one!

yeezzzzz...

I think you are the dense one here. It takes that long to anonymize? Why would anyone wait that long to anonymize when there are faster solutions?

You seem pretty confident in Cloak being a scam, let's see some proof. Otherwise take your baseless accusations and "anonymize" them.. it make take 2h-8h though.

and other unique features of Darkcoin that we've had in the works for awhile (I'm going to wait till all of the weak hands have left the building then I have some really cool stuff to announce).

-Evan

Could you quantify how you will be able to tell when these 'weak hands' are gone? If you ask me, this is the first time in months that there doesn't seem to be a concern over DRK's new lower-low price this morning. That's a pretty good sign of weak hands being gone, IMO.
Disclaimer: I have a sell-all DRK stop-limit at .00550 which I really would rather not see hit, so I may be biased to see DRK's price take off now rather than drop and trigger that stop (so ironically enough I might be a 'weak hand').

Hey guys,

I know I haven't posted for a couple days, so I thought I'd drop in and let you know we're still here.  We've been busy coding for this upcoming week of releases.  Everything is on schedule so far, and perhaps we'll have some interesting info to reveal.  Smiley

rynomster

Damn, it's nice to have a technical founder leading the project. So glad we don't have to outsource devs and borrow code like 99% of the altcoins.
http://cryptoasian.com/sdc-shadowncoin/

I find it funny that people invest in altcoins without technical founders, since crypto is all about technology. No sane angel or VC will invest in a start-up that doesn't have a tech founder.

i don't think that your post proves that NM is a scam. He admitted that it Comes from DarkWallet. Maybe NM is only a clone with no Innovation, but it's not a proven fact that it's a scam.
I'm not 100% sure if he said "i didn't take any code from sdc", and i'm not sure if this sentence "Special Thanks & Credits go out to - The DarkWallet Developers & The Shadowcoin Developers (For Stealth Addresses & Encrypted P2P Chat)" has been included in the OP since the Launch.

On the other Hand the screenshot from Login-times can be an indication that he is carlsen. maybe yes, maybe no.
just think about the mars-face popped up couple years ago....the indication was so strong...but still wrong. (not the best comparison, i know. just want to Point out that acting superfast may produce wrong indicators (just like MACD 1min Charts...))

Hey Reese,

My intentions are not to spread FUD on the project, but instead to bring light to the problem of ALTcoin factories plagiarizing code and scamming new investors. The nightmare project lead lied and told me he didn't use any code from the SDC project. I investigated it myself and called him out on it. Then his story changed and so did the Github repo - so right there that is a solid red flag. NightSend is a rebrand of ShadowSend. Any real developer would not re-brand someones work without giving credit. He presents it in a way where investors think he is the original author of the code, which is shady and usually the sign of a scamcoin. The coin is a carbon copy of SDC, why wouldn't they just contribute to the SDC project if their intentions were so pure?

Shitcoin factories are sucking the life out of the altcoin scene. New investors come here and get scammed by these people, then those people leave the altcoin scene. We need a concerted effort by the community to support source projects, not clones. All anyone is doing is contributing to the next shitcoin pump and dump. Contribution is what makes Bitcoin such a strong crypto.

I did my homework here and backed up my claims with real facts. The majority of FUD on Bitcointalk =  baseless accusations with nothing but a financial agenda backing them up. I hope this sets an example to the rest of the community. Do you research first and contribute FACTS not FUD.
332  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [CLOAK] Cloakcoin | No Premine | X13 | Decentralized Market and PoSA on: August 16, 2014, 09:25:27 AM
Why is the nightmarecoin scam in this thread? Is Cloak also a scam? Why is the price still falling like a rock? It doesnt make sense other then people are losing faith in Cloak.

Just making an example of the agendas behind the FUD in this thread. If these FUDpackers were so righteous they would be attacking a real scam coin. Their motives are very clear, they attack real projects not scams.

1. if you are satoshi nakamoto
2. if features are already implemented on release no promise this will happen that will happen.

until then i see it as promise. no fud intended. there is a solution to make yourself legit. cryptoasian does not share your details unless you scam so your identity is hidden as long as your a good boy/girl.

LOL. Man stop investing in these scams. You're just funding their next shitcoin launch/pump. Hop into Shadow (SDC) or Cloak. Both are extremely promising coins. Shadow is already being cloned by the altcoin scam artists so that says a lot about their tech.

Both are extremly undervalued for their respective price points. Cloak has achieved the first working trustless anon in crypto.

Im done with shitcoins now. I am moving back the the faithful coins that are still running. what ever the cost, its better than loosing out in theses scamcoins. This way the scammers will never win either.

Stop taking risks with risks with shitcoins. Look for real developers behind real projects. Theres a large group of people running altcoin factories just pumping shitcoins out left and right. A few of the coins out there have real developers Cloakcoin and Shadowcoin are two projects like that. Go for real devs. Shitcoins are sucking the life out of the altcoin space. Become an educated investor and be wise with your money. Contributing to shitcoin projects either by hash or trades, just prolongs their stain on the community.

This is an example of one being exposed: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=741234.0
How about keycoin?

AFAIK, Keycoin was propped up by a large pump group i.e Fontas and woolong. They spread a FUD campaign against Cloak and tried to use it as a catalyst to pump the coin. i called them out on twitter right when I saw it.

I'm not saying this is or is not a scam but it smells like Carsen Klock Nightmarecoin team. Icon + features are the same on the wallet just styled differently. I've exposed the Nightmarecoin scam here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=741234

There are two coins being made in the altcoin space - shitcoins and real coins. The few devs who are innovating are having their tech ripped off and rebranded. Shadowcoin's dev is responsible for the innovation in Encrypted Messaging yet none of the shitcoin devs will give him credit for it. Anyways, good luck with this project hopefully it's not a shitcoin. It makes sense to send out as many shitcoins out as you can, some will go under the radar until detected. I exposed Nightmarecoin before it had a chance to grow wings.

My advice: Don't risk it, invest in real projects like Shadow. If people are cloning it this early on you know they are doing something right. When you invest in a real coin you can sleep at night, without worrying about the bottom falling out on you.

Make sure it is "nightmare.conf", It is recommended to mine using the pools provided in the OP to get the best results.

GL with your scam. First you said you didn't take any code from SDC then I found your sloppy copy/paste and you fixed part of it. Then you changed your story to "you meant to give them credit" lulz. Now, you are re-branding their technology. There is no NightSend there is only ShadowSend the first implementation of the advanced dual-key stealth addresses into a PoS coin. So you can't re-brand it because its Shadow's accomplishment. Same with ShadowChat.
