Well it kinda works for me. It is usually a good idea to be careful what you are watching and downloading on the internet and you cant rely solely on antivirus programs.
In the case of the UFO stuff avast is just giving false report
i always do watch what i do and where i go, hence why i was asking about the warning and weather it was just a FP. just remember at one point that's how a line of scams where pulled with wallets and backdoor virus's/malware to steal coin's. |

 7950's go almost as high as 280x's on your public kernal Wolf0... top work. Same with my private one - 231kh/s out of Elpida 280X, 235kh/s out of Elpida 7950. Meaning, all the compute isn't being used, it's being limited by memory, and I therefore need to trade off memory usage for compute. yea i noticed that when i was just reviewing your pic uploads, my clock/core speeds are nowhere near as high as yours thou. Doesn't matter - those speeds I just quoted are at 1000 core. ok my core speeds are somewhat higher then that lol....... between 1090 and 1135 between the 7950's and 280x's to achieve the speeds i have, along with my config. useing almost the same config for scrypt, go figure. |

I'm wondering if the hardware configs, namely the system ram and its timings, could be affecting performance.
i highly doubt memory timeing could affect cpu preformance. best way to find out thou is to make changes and run the miner and see if it has any affect on hash rates. |

New cgminer 3.7.7b settings 4 U. 280x @stock 1020/1500 Hynix - 138-143 khash - catalyst 14.9 w/ 14.7-rc3 openCL files copied to cgminer's folder -g 3, -w 64, -i 14 .. HW and artifact free for 20 minutes now !  http://img.techpowerup.org/141103/NEO142khash280x.jpgupdate 1 HW  update ii cgminer will randomly set the thread concurrency on almost every startup. eg. it chooses 4096 or 8192 or 16384. I will soon know if the HW error was caused by the 4096 bin in use at the time. Currently running a 16384 bin.. 36 hours later I'm averaging 139 khash with only 4 HW errors.  This is pretty much what I am getting as well, except my settings are slightly different. Also no matter how many times I try to regenerate a new bin file, my install will always pick 8192 for thread concurrency. 280x -i 13 -w 48 -g 2 GPU clocks 1025/1500 I also have another box, basically identical build to the above (3x 280x cards) that prefers -g 1 instead of the -g 2 shown above, with all the other settings and clocks set the same. What make/model cpu, mobo and ram are you running ? My rig: Phenom II x6, Asus SB 990fx, GSkill 9-9-9-24 2T I just bumped it up to 4 threads and gained 2 kash. WOOT ! iam pretty sure he is talking about gpu's not cpu's. |

i dont get how you guys are getting such high speeds. i have tried all the settings on my 280x's and they barley do 120khs. tried with both new sgminer and latest cgminer. I think the secret is to not have AMD 14.9 installed. I am using 14.6. This isn't the first algorithm I've seen to perform poorly with 14.9. p.s. see my comments here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=632503.msg9412232#msg9412232intresting, i will give it a go and see what results i gain, as its the same across my 2 rigs, 4 280x's do about 122khs and my 7950's do around 117khs. so i will change drivers and post the results. *Edit just noticed you cant download 14.6 drivers anymore :-/ only 14.4 and lower. also do you use a TC setting? No TC setting. But of course the .bin file shows that it is using 8192. I keep all my old AMD bundles, so going to 14.6 was easy. Big file though 300+MB. i ended up useing 14.7 rc3. 280x with hynix does 170khs and elpidha 280x does 150khs..... thats with alittle tuneing to the bat file and speeds of the card. and it appears iam able to pull between 147-162khs off 7950's useing my own settings. |
