321  Other / Meta / Re: Issue with flag system (Please FIX) on: June 10, 2020, 09:05:20 PM
The flag system asks for the topic link by default you can't just flag without it so if the scammer just makes his topic self mod you cannot add it to the flag system which is a major flaw in the system.

I'm sure there are many abusing this now and it means that I am unable to flag the user's topic for scamming users.

I hope the admin will look at this and change the flag system so this users topic and any self-mod topic can be added as people are losing a lot of money there and there is no way to flag it to warn new miners.

I hope my screenshots prove what I am saying.

Below is screens showing that it's impossible to flag this user with there topic link so the system has a flaw.

323  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: SEGWIT LTC.TBDICE.ORG 0.5% fee SOLO MM LTC/DGE POOL 3K+ LTC/7K+ DGE blks solved on: June 10, 2020, 08:39:30 PM
neither of his accounts have been on for a while - the main one off line since 2017 and the new one offline since Nov 2019.

Maybe something happened to him? who knows? but the point everyone here makes over and over is that the pool cannot be trusted as it is not paying correctly. Everyone needs to STOP mining here.

Someone is in control over the pool there was a time the pool had a update while everyone was waiting for answers also the pool went down for 2 days a few months ago then suddenly came back online so someone is at the helm of this pool there just ignoring the topic.

Suppose we will know when the funds all get moved away from the pool wallet.
324  Other / Meta / Re: Issue with flag system (Please FIX) on: June 10, 2020, 08:33:11 PM
I think to cater that is you may post a scam accusation first on the said account then link that to flag him.

You can create a flag using a link on a person's trust page.

I think that's a good find on you because if you have created a self mod accusation thread about him and link that to flag the account that will not still effect. I think you found a good bug, I don't know if this has been found already on the trust flag thread of theymos but I guess it was the first time I heard it. By the way, the trust flag system will celebrate its first anniversary by tomorrow.

Thank you I would agree this is a bug there should be no reason you cannot flag a user just because they have started the topic with self-mod.

I hope theymos can fix this to include topics that are self-mod if you can't flag them scammers will just abuse that by starting the topic with that option enabled and it means no one can issue them with a flag.

I also attempted via the users trust link and it also popped up the you cannot do this error.
325  Other / Meta / Re: Issue with flag system (Please FIX) on: June 10, 2020, 08:30:23 PM
You can't create it against the person who started the topic.

I attempted to add a flag to the user who started the topic and it said I could not do this on self-mod topics.
326  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 2% fee solo mining 256 blocks solved! on: June 10, 2020, 08:02:45 PM
I've created a script for Ubuntu (suggest 20.04) or Debian linux which should automate the setup, configuration, and install of a ckproxy to mine on the solo pool, though you can edit it afterwards to mine wherever you like. I do not suggest using something like an RPi as you want reasonable performance from your proxy to avoid any added latency.

Download the following script:
Code:
http://ck.kolivas.org/apps/soloproxy/setupsoloproxy.sh

It will not be directly executable, so execute it with
Code:
sh setupsoloproxy.sh

And follow the prompts. Tell me how you go.

Nice work CK this will help a lot of people who may have struggles to build the proxy from the source top work!

Now lets get a nice early block guys!
327  Other / Meta / Issue with flag system (Please FIX) on: June 10, 2020, 08:00:39 PM
Hey everyone.

Just wanted to point out the flag system will not work on topics that are self mod.

This pool

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1290219.0

is scamming it's users of LTC and DOGE blocks it's been stealing the block rewards we have been trying to warn user about this but as the topic is self mod there is no way to add a flag on the user.

Please fix the flag system to work on self mod topics or scammers will just start creating them to avoid being flagged by the system.
328  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: SEGWIT LTC.TBDICE.ORG 0.5% fee SOLO MM LTC/DGE POOL 3K+ LTC/7K+ DGE blks solved on: June 10, 2020, 07:55:16 PM
Someone is admin of this pool there just ignoring the topic now I have called scam on this for month and months now even going as far as to inform the people who gave the pool trust to update there ratings at this point all everyone can do is open a flag and tag the main account as a scammer.

Shame such a fall from grace loshia claimed he was hacked but I wonder if this was just for appearances now he's stealing block rewards.

I know 2 miners who are seeking to claim damages against this pool for there fraud end of the day there stealing from miners some who need there income to keep there mines open it's a disgrace.

Tag the main account on page 1 with a flag and also make sure you give it a red trust.

Hopefully people will see that and mine somewhere else.

329  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Strange Error In Miner on: June 10, 2020, 07:50:33 PM
I found a bunch of files in the miner I posted above I have a feeling they could be used when flashing the machine I am curious if anyone know's what they are used for and if there supposed to be left on the miner?

If someone has a S9 or other miner they could check to see if those too come packed with the above file.
330  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Strange Error In Miner on: June 08, 2020, 01:50:55 AM
Thanks again for your help Wink so, i have all succes but the error FW is mini ...

I have just by pass all error on runme.sh for force miner to flash all files, and now, is working good !! Wink

Wink

You managed get it to work?

Have you run into any issues or running fine?
331  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Strange Error In Miner on: June 06, 2020, 09:36:38 PM

I noticed some files that seem to be related to flash unlocking and nand dump in the miner I wonder if they could be of some use pulling the FW.

Quite interested in what the flash_otp_info  and flash_otp_dump are used for

When checking some of them for there functions I have included below.

Code:
Usage: flash_otp_info [ -f | -u ] <device>

Code:
root@Satoshi1:/usr/sbin# ./flash_unlock
Usage: flash_unlock <mtd device> [offset] [block count]

If offset is not specified, it defaults to 0.
If block count is not specified, it defaults to all blocks.

Code:
root@Satoshi1:/usr/sbin# ./nandtest
usage: nandtest [OPTIONS] <device>

-h, --help           Display this help output
-m, --markbad        Mark blocks bad if they appear so
  -s, --seed           Supply random seed
  -p, --passes         Number of passes
-o, --offset         Start offset on flash
-l, --length         Length of flash to test
-k, --keep           Restore existing contents after test
root@Satoshi1:/usr/sbin#

there also seems to be a way to dump the eeprom and i2c from the miner I wonder if these files are supposed to be in the miner of if they were left there when they made the V9's.

If anyone know's there use please do let me know I had a spell of dumping nand's from XBOX360s back in the day so would be interested to know more about doing this in the miner.
332  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: It is 2020 time for a new diff thread. on: June 03, 2020, 10:02:37 PM
I know this is going to be a pain but this is what is being banded about in china

I did find a translation for it somewhere but I cannot for the life of me recall where I read.

If there is some truth to this matter and it's not just some speculation but miners have actually been told to ramp down in a orderly manner and not to just switch off there must be some reason behind it.

If I can find the post with the image again I will link it.

As for the Diff this could mean we start to see further drops if this is legitimate and we may start to see further sell off's into the market.

I don't think we're our of hot water just yet but I am thinking that there could be a silver lining ahead for those who kept hold of there equipment.
333  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 2% fee solo mining 256 blocks solved! on: June 03, 2020, 09:58:15 PM
Well done to the lucky miner!!!

And congratulations to the pool for block 256!!!!

Mine on everyone! Smiley
334  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Strange Error In Miner on: June 02, 2020, 09:36:54 PM
I worked out how to pull the firmware images apart with

Code:
dd if=initramfs.bin.SD of=initramfs.gz bs=1 skip=64
mkdir rootfs_unpacked
cd rootfs_unpacked
zcat ../initramfs.gz | cpio -i

Might come in useful down the line but again I also spoke with taserz about this and to re-compile just do the above in reverse.  The issue is it would not be signed so the bitmain firmware won't accept it.
335  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: It is 2020 time for a new diff thread. on: June 02, 2020, 09:32:31 PM
I would also agree with this I think the run to 10k there was the start of a very long sell off that is going to start to push the price down also with the uncertain economic climate I know a lot of traders who have pulled from the markets as they are starting to see that indeed the market may be in for some turmoil.

Having a quick look on the ASIC stats on trading view is not a pretty sight at the moment.

I think if we continue to see more of the hashrate vanish and less new gear come online it might start to push other's out the market there was also some news out of china from what I can make out some miners in a specific area of china have been told to start ramping down there mining efforts from what I can make out it's around 10-12% of the global hashrate that could be effected.  (Still trying to get clarification on this)

Interesting time's on the horizon for sure!

I hope you all managed to catch that 10k!

Tested with "multi-version" : "4"  last 4 hours still very high rejected rate but started this time round.

I look forward to you getting your V9 and testing to see if you get the same issues.

Thanks for the help.

So quick update I wondered about each of the boards on the miner and thought I would test with unplugging 2 at a time and testing them on there one.

It looks like one board is part of the cause after testing them one of the boards seems to reject a much much higher amount of shares than the other two.

This is much lower than it was so it looks like it's a fault in a board that is causing the issue.

I noticed there are some what looks like jtag connectors on the boards I may be able to hook into the board directly

I found a very interesting post where someone reverse engineered an old antminer and thought about trying this with the reject board to see if it behaves any different.

https://mightydevices.com/index.php/2018/02/reverse-engineering-antminer-s1/
https://github.com/MightyDevices/mightyminer

I am unsure if this will work as the chips seem to be different but what harm could it do the board is faulty anyway.
337  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So it looks like Cobra is planning on passing on the Bitcoin.org domain on: May 28, 2020, 09:57:51 PM
That domain should come into the hands of the community if that is handed over to BCH for any sum of money then we really are in trouble.

Do we have any ideas on who might be suitable to take this over?

338  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 2% fee solo mining 255 blocks solved! on: May 28, 2020, 09:53:43 PM
The only thing you can do is create a proxy on a VPS it's pretty simple and you can get cheap VPS servers that will do for this job at router hosting or similar places.

the CK proxy is easy to setup and use there is a guide on the forum somewhere I will see if I can find it and link it for you.
