321  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can we predict if the value of Bitcoin will go up? on: December 09, 2017, 11:58:43 PM
The value of Bitcoin is in roller coaster at some point. But can a bitcoiner be notified if the value of bitcoins will go up or down beforehand?
No.Its very hard to predict. That's what makes the game interesting.Earlier, when china mostly dominated bitcoin market, investors were able to predict to some extent about bitcoin price by keenly watching bitcoin related happenings in china and now, china is almost out of the game. So,now there are no factors to take in to consideration to predict bitcoin price.
322  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Possible reasons that Bitcoin will be gone on: December 09, 2017, 11:25:53 PM
No internet
Banned in all country and
no users.
I think that all the above three are impossible to happen.

I think that the real threat to bitcoin would be the introduction of Quantum computers which would take almost twenty more years to come in to existence. But we could hope that appropriate safety measures would be taken to save bitcoin before its entry.
323  Economy / Speculation / Re: ✨✨✨ Time To SHORT For Massive Profits!! ✨✨✨ on: December 09, 2017, 11:22:21 PM
These futures contracts aren't being transacted over the Bitcoin Blockchain. These contracts are bets about future prices, they don't actually require anyone to buy and/or sell Bitcoin for each contract. The Bitcoin price isn't going to go crazy each day. There are currently futures contracts on oil, gas, pigs, coffee, oranges, soy beans. Are the value of these items going crazy each week? No.

That's really a good point.I think it would make clear those minds who are still confused about whether bitcoin futures would affect the bitcoin price positively or negatively.Even i was afraid of that thing and about the future of bitcoin. As said, bitcoin futures and blockchain will travel in separate tracks without disturbing both.
324  Economy / Speculation / Re: Unconfirmed Transactions keeping price up?! on: December 09, 2017, 01:25:37 PM
Of course you could be one of those guys , transferring 2 million$ with a 3$ fee and waiting for two days already....
https://blockchair.com/bitcoin/transaction/605e6226505685cbbba1389dddae00716958f0410b5e6dc5970bef7be2fbc653

These are really great words Smiley Smiley Smiley.May be some poor guys who could not afford to pay such huge transaction fee of $3 would be worried about.

OP's question seems very logical from a newbie's point of view.He just thinks that the BTC price has increased high and it still remains high only for the reason that people are not able to withdraw their bitcoins for selling.Otherwise, due to high sell order,BTC price might have fallen down.

But beyond that, there is still a huge buy wall for bitcoins due to entry of CME,CBOE,etc.,
325  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Pump and Dump. How to make a profit? on: December 08, 2017, 02:41:22 PM
Hi. How can you recognize pumps and dumps for any coin? Is there any universal indicators? I mean to predict it. Maybe there are some non-market signs (banners, posts, etc.)
Should I avoid pumps and dumps or try to earn some money?
It would be interesting to know your opinion, guys! Thanks
Yes you could make huge profits by investing in a coin which is being pumped and yet to be dumped. For that, you should invest in a newly released coin immediately after it gets released as it would be definitely pumped very high by its devs to create a good base for their coin. But set a profit percentage as your target and once you reach that targeted price, just sell those coins and finish the trade. Its because you really don't know when that coin would be dumped. If you follow this strategy, you can make big profits.
326  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Goldman Sachs Plans to Clear Bitcoin Futures When They Go Live on: December 07, 2017, 11:53:05 PM
WALLSTREET IS NOT GOING TO TRADE WITH BITCOIN FUTURES, THEY CANCELLED THE CONTRACTS.

https://www.cnbc.com/2017/12/07/bitcoin-futures-push-back-by-wall-street-banks.html

It seems it's not just CME. Wall Street is going to steadily accept and trade bitcoin. This keeps bitcoin price rising and, although many people don’t like the idea of WS putting their dirty hands of bitcoin,

I dont understand why you all are worried about bitcoin and the futures, came on people! they are not going to kill bitcoin just because they start accepting bitcoin on their future's exchanges.

Let's see the reality, we need to have this kind of adoption, and wallet has cancelled it.

Now only the CME and a few more are going to start opening bitcoin on their craft tables, but it is just matter of time until we see all the financial institutions again putting their hands in bitcoin.

I think that you are not familiar with the famous Tulip bubble which took place in the seventeenth century. Now,we are just travelling in the same track in which tulips went.Just the crash is remaining and we don't know when it would happen.Until then, there is no objection for any one to enjoy the journey. But be brave hearted to face every thing.
327  Economy / Economics / Re: How futures on bitcoin will work? on: December 06, 2017, 11:39:24 PM
you all talking about the basic concept which i understand
but i would like to know how this will be implemented technically

These are being implemented as CFD (contract for difference) futures.  As far as I can understand, they do not represent any actual holding of Bitcoin, the exchanges do not possess any "reserve" of Bitcoin, and there is no option (at this time) to "take delivery" of a settled contract in Bitcoin.  So it's basically betting on the price of Bitcoin at each contract's strike date.

I am more interested in how people in the community feel that a futures contract that is wholly disconnected from the underlying asset (BTC) will impact the price of BTC.  I posted a similar thread about that particular aspect.

I guess we'll know starting next week, but it's looking more to me as a way that they can sell clients on "paper Bitcoin" than something that could actually manipulate the real BTC price.  At least for now while they're totally disconnected from actual BTC.

Speculators would get a big place to play. So,bitcoin price would be manipulated a lot. That's why,a lo of analysts fear of a possible crash in future just like what happened in tulips during seventeenth century which were sold in contracts.

330  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can Bitcoin be converted to Cash? on: December 01, 2017, 10:35:49 AM
Someone answered localbitcoin above me and I think that is the one mostly used because of lack of exchanges per country.
You could use your bank account and they will deposit the money there in exchange for your bitcoin.
That is all that I knew now when it comes to making it cash.
You could put your country next time so we could look for more options which could be easier if ever there is.
In localbitcoins, not only we could use our bank account, but also we could sell bitcoins to the trader directly in person also if we don't want our transactions to be traced by government authorities for taxing purposes. You could sell your bitcoins directly to the person if you have large number of bitcoins and if not, then just you could ask them to send money to your bank account directly.

332  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Another Fork in December on: November 26, 2017, 11:54:27 PM
There are continuing rumors about another bitcoin hardfork on December. If this happen, will bitcoin go for another all-high time or may suffer another big crash this time.
I think its bitcoin diamond.I think no crashes would occur in bitcoin prices here after due to bitcoins. It does not have any significance as bitcoin gold.I think that it would also be an unorganized project.Total supply of coins is said to be 210 million coins. So,there would be no threat for bitcoin.
333  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 1000 hard forks in 2018 on: November 26, 2017, 11:47:06 PM
Hard forks is now replacing ICOs as a way to raise funds

In 2017 there have been more than 1000 ICOs

This means that in 2018 we could see more than 1000 hard forks - creating chaos

https://cointelegraph.com/news/developers-begin-turning-to-hard-forks-for-fundraising-rather-than-icos

We could see that OP is continuously creating negative topics against bitcoin.I think that hard forks are nowadays losing their importance.Few days earlier, people eagerly expected hard forks for free air drops. But they were very much disappointed with bitcoin gold.It is said to be a scam project with most of coins premined. So,there would be no threat for bitcoin due to hard forks in the future.
334  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you believe that digital currencies will replace Fiat? on: November 26, 2017, 11:45:29 PM
I know it may not be possible right now, but do you think fiat will be gone in the future?
No.It will not. There are still people of older age and illiterate who don't find comfort in using digital transactions. Most of illiterate people don't even own a credit card or debit card. They just believe the paper money as the true currency. Also, internet is not widely available all over the world.Even in most developed countries like US,fiat currency still exists. So,it may not replace fiat currencies.
335  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: this is what will Kill bitcoin. on: November 26, 2017, 11:44:16 PM
2 computers sitting side by side.  I sent .02 bitcoin from a 2013 multibit wallet to a Exodus in laptop. 13 days still not Confirmed  I can't add money to the fee in 2013 wallet. so fee shows $.81.  so network won't send it though.  In 13 DAYS it has seen 22 peers. I would pay more fee if I could.  13 Days ! Really!  Get your sh** to gather.  This will Kill Bitcoin! Cry
You should have used updated wallet to send bitcoins instead of outdated wallet.its true that bitcoin transaction fee is very high but this move is just to criticize bitcoin.Liecoin as well as any other altcoin has not processed such huge volume of transactions as bitcoin does.If it happens, then the truth would be revealed.
336  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you want China be back into Bitcoin? on: November 26, 2017, 11:42:27 PM

There is no question that China is a big market for anything and if this market can be developed well its power and influence can be felt for good. I believe that China can be a good contributor outwards the overall success of the cryptocurrency movement. Do you think we should welcome China again to the Bitcoin market?

Quote
Future of Cryptocurrencies in China

It is important to note that this ban is, most likely, temporarily. The fact is that China had already banned Bitcoin trading in 2013 and this year imposed a 4 month freeze on exchanges due to security issues. Regardless of the events, the Public Bank of China is very interested in distributed ledger technology, having devised a five-year development plan that focus on researching and developing blockchain technology. Not only that but according to some reports the Chinese government is also developing and testing their own state cryptocurrency.

In a closing note, there are now rumors that Bitcoin exchanges might be reopening. This speculation was felt in the market, with Bitcoin prices surpassing the previous all-time high of $6300. Reports indicate that the policies forbidding crypto trading were examined in the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and that they might be lifted. It was also speculated that a new Chinese cryptocurrency platform, speculated to be controlled by the Chinese government, might be up and running by the 1st of November. Read more here...

Bitcoin is now totally not dependent on china. But if china gets back, surely it would increase bitcoin price as there is a huge population in china which would trigger its price more. But if china once again re enters bitcoin market, definitely it would definitely contribute more for bitcoin progress since china has largest number of mining firms and i hope that it still has the lion's  share in bitcoin.
337  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin is better than Cash. on: November 26, 2017, 11:38:07 PM
What are the reasons, why people use Cash or Credit Cards / ATM / Banks?

Look at the benefits of bitcoin.

* Works online 100%, 100%transparent for private and commercial use. Total control of private or public money for it's holder or holders, investors, governments etc.
* As It's works online there no need of expensive steel safes or bank deposits to keep your money safe. Any password or time code can be used.
* No fees. Unlike cash, hasn't 2%-3% of inflation every single year.
* Accepted for Food Shopping & Micro payments via electronic card.
* 0 confermations time, with introduction of "instant pay" function.
* 0 exchange risks in use of proper securities and competent insurance.
* any entrepreneurs is able to understanding of the value of payment.
* No need for pay terminal for small businesses. For small entrepreneurs it's a high expense of 70 bucks every month.
* Theoretically it's would not be needed to have an expensive licensed cash register, for small entrepreneurs, as every transaction is totally transparent. So cases of black money flow would be easily found and proven.
* Banking and gambling. No need of any verification for CFD,Stock,Currency or gambling services.

Bitcoin is better than cash in many aspects.Bitcoin is not legalized in many countries and so, we enjoy tax free income. Also,we could send huge money with very low transaction fee.Cash would just remain idle while bitcoin would increase in value even within a day.Bitcoin is safe in our wallet which could not be easily hacked but also immediately transferred to any parts of world immediately.
338  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wall street move into Bitcoin next month on: November 26, 2017, 11:34:14 PM
Chicago Board Options Exchange to Launch Bitcoin Futures beside CME Bitcoin futures & with Goldman sachs investment bank advising its investors not to ignore Bitcoin anymore the future of Bitcoin looks very good.

https://cointelegraph.com/news/chicago-board-options-exchange-to-launch-bitcoin-futures-announces-specifics

Yes,most of the financial firms are nowadays entering bitcoin market,CME nd now CBOE.On one side,CEOs like jamie dimon criticizing bitcoin and on the other side, wall street firms getting interested in bitcoin. They have started to realize that bitcoin could be no more avoided just for the reason that they belong to wall street financial firms. So,they have just decided to join the winning team.
339  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Everyone already knows about bitcoin" no.. no they do not.. on: November 26, 2017, 11:31:18 PM
Every time I go to the bank I like to ask them if they have heard of BTC, most of the time the answer is no.
I do ask a lot of people about BTC.. a restaurant near me.. near ish use to accept it as well, I asked to pay with it, they said it no longer exists.. .... ...

Most people I find still have zero idea what BTC is unless they are friends with the likes of us.. I don't think we are even in early adoption stage.. we are in "the chasm" .. it would appear we are going to survive though... appear anyways..

I dunno just something I have taken note of.

Pretty much everyone that has heard of it assumes it's worth like 5 cents and shits themselves when I say it's $1k (Cad) .. we are in very interesting times with BTC.
No.Things have mostly changed nowadays and bitcoin is getting popular day by day nowadays.Bitcoin is getting huge media exposure due to which its price is triggering.Due to entry of CME,lots of invstors are now switching to bitcoin.
340  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin expensive to use on: November 26, 2017, 11:22:45 PM
Explain to the newbie because with the increase in the value of bitcoin grows and Commission of the network 0.001 (if I'm not mistaken) it is very expensive. Bitcoin to become like the big ingot of gold, which is a pleasure to own but it is inconvenient to use in everyday life. The community decides for ease of use, or we will move on to altcoins?
Bitcoin is nowadays used more as a store value and so,it would not be an issue. If it has been thought like that, then already many would have switched to altcoins. But it has not occurred.Segwit was activated to solve this issue and it was also solved to some extent, but some miners just mine empty blocks to make transactions get stuck and so,transaction fee has increased.
