321  Economy / Economics / Re: War on cash in the EU : very bullish for BTC on: July 29, 2017, 02:09:03 AM
Theres a video of the latest DAVOS (im not sure if 2017 or 2016 edition) and Laggarde says that in 10 years, she doesn't think that physical money will exist. Since these things don't happen from one day to another, the transition will happen smoothly, so in about 5 years, most of the cash will be banned, I think only the smallest bills will prevail, probably for the older people to keep being able to do common shopping, because most old people will never understand how to pay digitally.

In about 2027 cash will be over in most developed countries. The BTC price will be insanely high assuming big blockers don't win.
322  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I do not have the guts to buy bitcoins now. on: July 29, 2017, 01:11:38 AM
Am I the only one who is under the impression that the price of bitcoin will plummet before day 1 or soon after?
This bitcoin fall to 2400 and the climb up to where it is now get me the impression that the whales are piling up to dump everything before day one.

Also I'm seeing a lot of people wanting to save the bitcoin for the first day thinking that Bitcoin Cash will be worth the same as the bitcoin or that at least they will make good money with it. They are not even realizing how this will devalue bitcoin.

No I don't think like that.

We are close to that "before day 1" thing but look at the price. If it will goes down straight then it must be happened now or the price decrease recently should not climb up more. Meaning there are lots of buyers anticipating the price increase after August 1st.

P.S I don't see any hype activity of BCC.
Bitcoin Cash or BCC is a lame duck and its not going to happen, a lot of exchanges are saying that they don't plan on using it and it seems that it's going to be worthless anytime soon. I will hold on buying any bitcoins for a while and see what happens after the August 1.

Im pretty sure it IS going to happen, unless somehow they back down, but the main point is, it does NOT matter if they hardfork. Anybody can hardfork at any time, everyone is free to fork BTC into their own alt and call it whatever they want, the difference is if they will get enough hashrate, and enough market support, which I doubt. All whales will dump their BCC for more BTC. This is the final act of faith in the coin. And I doubt that Roger Ver will dump all their BTC for BCC.

Segwit is locked in, that's what you need to consider. Segwit is inherently bullish except for the conspiracy theorists that claim Segwit is a mistake and could create a DAO type situation within bitcoin because of the transaction format. I think this is exaggerated FUD.

Once we clear out the BCC nonsense, the price will go up. If you buy before August 1st, you will have both BTC and BCC, so you can always dump BCC for free BTC and in case BTC price goes down against the dollar, you still get more BTC. Consider that.

326  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to make a 100,000$ with an ICO on: November 02, 2016, 06:39:20 PM
You could say this is accurate, but we can't think that all ICOs are scams, because that hurts the legitimate projects, even if they are few of them, some of them are legit and put countless hours into their work, so treating it all as a scam doesn't help anyone.
327  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: advantages of bitcoin on: November 02, 2016, 06:31:08 PM
The best advantage of bitcoin is being able to move unlimited amount of money overseas. Good luck trying to find any other way but bitcoin, because there isn't any other viable way.
328  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fork you. on: November 02, 2016, 06:20:40 PM
Bitcoin Unlimited will join the altcoin cementery soon along with Bitcoin XT and Bitcoin Classic. By next year we should have segwit activated already.
In the moment of truth people know it's stupid to gamble with developers, and the Core devs are the most solid devs.
329  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Fucking Chinese on: November 02, 2016, 06:17:51 PM
I think asian empire will fall sooner or later, their whole economy is built upon cheap products mass produced in ridiculous ways and paying peanuts to the workers. How long can those guys deal with that shit?
330  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [ALERT] Alert System Retirement on: November 02, 2016, 06:16:19 PM
I think what reputation attacks mean is, somebody that has a reputation in the bitcoin ecosystem (like Gavin Andressen for example) could use their key to push a certain agenda.

If nobody has the key, then nobody can do that sort of attack anymore.
331  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin blockchain - removing intermediaries on: November 01, 2016, 07:36:32 PM
I think gambling will be huge in the future when people become aware of bitcoin. The fact that you can gamble any amounts anywhere at any time for small amounts... this is impossible to do with the traditional banking, because of intermediaries and so on.
332  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What will gonna happened to the world if Donald trump win? on: November 01, 2016, 06:46:00 PM
Nothing terrible is going to happen... there's this ridiculous fear about how if Trump gets elected the amargeddon will ensue.

It's also stupid to think Hillary is going to cause WW3. Nothing out of the ordinary will happen if they do their job as expected, that is, to avoid getting ourselves in big trouble.

I don't like both of them but I can't do much about that.
333  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If Bitcoin was made illegal by your government would you still use it? on: November 01, 2016, 06:36:25 PM
Would have to be careful with it, or stop using it. But if i had a lot of bitcoin i would just move to a better country that didn't ban it.

Why would you stop using it? if you stop using it then you are falling for their fear and that is what the want, just put fear on people's mind to stop it. Because they can't do nothing else. What are they going to do? they can't stop a decentralized system unless they shut down the internet.
334  Other / Archival / Re: Do you agree with idea "Bitcoin bank" ? on: November 01, 2016, 06:33:25 PM
We can't know if banks will disappear or not, but what we know is it will make a huge impact on them once bitcoin becomes ore mainstream, and the only way they can deal with not ending up like kodak is by accepting bitcoin and offering ways to store it for those that dont want to store it themselves.
335  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin, Gold and USD on: November 01, 2016, 05:51:14 PM
I am both young and poor enough to want to go all in on Bitcoin. I have nothing to lose, and I still have a lot of time left on earth.. I think this is the combination that makes me want to take the risk of going all in on BTC. I either get really rich or lose it all, I dont care.

337  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Bitcoin Will Not Survive", says Jamie Dimon on: January 26, 2016, 03:18:29 PM

Bitcoin might become is unusable in future because of very limited space for transactions and corresponding big fees when people try outbidng each other to ever be able to use decentralized transactions under Bitcoin, and not, it is not just Jamie Dimon wishfull thinking how to get rid of Bitcoin.

Blockstream ruined the whole thing.  They want you to pay them and move to Lighting network.  They can't be stopped because two guys have their finger on the Veto button.

The 'core devs' - are the supreme gods of centralization.  This concept of 'decentralized' is a myth.  The experiment failed.

Take heart, a new system will come.  Maybe it is Ethereum.

You don't know how Lightning Network works to claim it's centralized.
What would be centralized is huge blocks that don't allow for people to run nodes, so we have 3 companies running nodes, 3 companies running mining cartels = Bitcoin dies as a decentralized, government censorship resistant technology.

If Bitcoin nodes remain decentralized as they are now, and we scale it globally through an additional layer like LN (which is just clever Bitcoin script and has no centralization whatsoever) we win, they can't shut down Bitcoin.

Only uninformed tools are still parroting the blockstream centralization myth. Ethereum is a meme and will be over after we have side-chains. There are 0 Bitcoin competitors right now, stop hoping for Bitcoin 2.0, that's delusion.
338  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How much decentralization is "enough?" on: January 26, 2016, 03:14:43 PM
as long as the power is not in the hands of an entity it is decentralized enough, so no having 3 big farms mining bitcoin is not centralized

having those farms in the same place is not centralized, having higher block is still not centralization, but something like a government control all the farms, that's would be what i call centralization...

Don't be delusional, mining is pretty centralized right now. If running nodes ended the same way (with a couple of big cartels running nodes) Bitcoin would be dead as a decentralized currency. It would be like Bitcoin was running on Google and a couple other big companies. Nodes would be like servers instead of nodes. This is why we need a block size that remains small, so people can run nodes on their desktop computers.
339  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Methods of growing your Bitcoin? on: January 26, 2016, 03:12:22 PM
Recently I started buying and selling domain names and I think there is a lot of opportunities to make money there. You can register domain names using Bitcoin on Namecheap and it's super easy, just be careful not to get overenthusiastic, most domain names people buy and think are awesome are actually worthless. You need to do some research before you invest.

and would mind telling me how much you can profit from this method?

and more importantly, are people interested in buying just a domain from you instead of creating a new (different) one themselves?

It's the same as always. You invest in something that you think it's undervalued, since maybe in the future someone wants that and would be willing to pay more money for it than you did back then. Just good ol reselling.
