why not get a UK seller and have them come over with equipment and then resell etc or come over with van loads of equipment set up shop in UK job done and can get more customers and be happy.
Because its much slower than sending directly to customers, more expensive than sending directly to customers, increases stock holding (unless you want premining) and generally doesn't help.

Dogie,
Is bitmain coming out with S3 upgrades?
What do you mean by S3 upgrades, like the S1/S3 upgrade kits? yes Maybe, will look into it. I think the problem will be that the S3 is perfectly viable so no one will be turning them off for a while.

In other news, EMS is back!
It is ..... but somehow beaten on price by UPS! Bitmain should add the words (Preffered Courier) next to UPS as it seems they get to better any price offered by anyone else. I mean, how can they be cheaper than EMS who take 5 - 7 days to deliver as opposed to 3 - 5 for UPS, though understandable for DHL's 2 - 3 days? No idea, I guess that's just their tariff rates. It might not be the slowest EMS service.

Bitmain, Is any compensation or coupon being passed to your business partners that offered L1 pre-orders? Such as bitmainantminer.com. I ordered an L1 from them (which I deeply regret.) (Please, no posts knocking this decision. Yes, it was dumb. I feel bad enough already.) Bitmainantminer is not communicating well. They are not responding to my emails. Does Bitmain have leverage to force them to do the right thing?
I'm still chasing it.

USB 2.0 .. No Hubs.
Please put the U3 on a powered USB hub, as there is quite a bit of draw from the USB interface.

I just got an Antminer U3
I have it all hooked up, installed the driver just like this states
SETUP INSTRUCTIONS 1. Install driver 2. Plug power brick into AntMiner U3 before plugging power brick into wall 3. Plug power brick into wall 4. Connect USB cable from AntMiner U3 to computer 5. Open Zadig and click "Options -> List All Devices" 6. Select CP2102 USB to UART Bridge Controller, and then click "Install Driver" 7. Run cgminer with the following parameters (remember to replace "-o XXX -u XXX -p XXX" with your own information):
cgminer.exe --bmsc-options 115200:0.65 -o XXX -u XXX -p XXX --bmsc-voltage 0800 --bmsc-freq 1306
When I run the miner, it says "Bitmain Detect failed to initialize -- Incorrect Device?"
What am I doing wrong?
Any other USB miners on the system? What type of USB port are you using (2.0/3.0 etc)? Are you using a powered USB hub?

Will those who opted for L1 refunds in full bitcoin receive them soon? Will place an order if I get the refund.
If you're ordering S5s from L1 refunds, why don't you choose option 3 and have the value refunded in a greater value S5 coupon? Doesn't work that way. I'm still waiting for L1 coupons. It's not rocket surgery, they should process all pending coupons before putting any more batches on sale, otherwise it's starting to smell of bait&switch. I should have taken my refund and my business to raskul's signature I'll see if I can hurry along the coupons, although I'm sure I have yours swapped out for BTC if that's what you want?

There are many many hardware versions of the S3, not all of them support variable voltage AFAIK.
@dogie and @BITMAIN can you please tell us witch versions of S3 support voltage setting? Is it depending on hardware, PIC-firmware or software? So please inform us about different hardware, PIC-firmware and cgminer versions. I notice changes to the files in the different firmwares. regards Tomten Its not firmware or cgminer based, I believe its DC/DC based. There are a few variants of DC/DC. There's no real way to track them seeing as they were/are sold under S3 or S3+, and may or may not span batches.

Still no answer on this one Checking. it's should deserve not "checking" but a major hurry. Everyone who is ordering at prices listed on the website is losing $12-13/miner (the btc price difference between "real" and "bitmains" btc price is up to almost $9-10 or ~3% right now). They will have to either cancel all orders that were erroneously priced or issue massive refunds if this continues unabated. Its 4AM on China, I'm trying!

Noise levels are a shame, can't help thinking if they spent another $15 on heatsinks they could open up much more of the market for themselves.

Can I get some beta testers for a new S3 firmware please? Download link is here, it *should* be good to go but as you know.... Rolls back to the last good patch in Oct (1024), but fixes voltage adjustment and the important reset button. Hopefully.... let me know. Hello Dogie. Could you tell us what version of CGMINER has in this versión of Firmware, please?. Is posible test the versión 4.8 or 4.9, please? Best Regards. Antuam I'm not sure, someone else will have to answer that for you. First step is getting a stable firmware with working reset button again.

Hello everyone
Hopefully someone can help me.
I rigged up my first 3 s3's last night and they were running at about 450gh/s, so all OK.
Overnight they all went down to about 200gh/s, so I turned them all off and started them again - they then went up to 450gh/s again.
They have been working for about 4 hours and now one of them has reduced again, but at the moment the other 2 seem to be OK.
Any advise would be great! They are new from Bitmain yesterday,.
Thanks Adam
UPDATE- Today so far only 1 of them is doing it, just reducing to about 200gh/s approx. every 4 hours.
What firmware are you on? If its later than 1024 then install 1024 again or my beta firmware. Can I get some beta testers for a new S3 firmware please? Download link is here, it *should* be good to go but as you know.... Rolls back to the last good patch in Oct (1024), but fixes voltage adjustment and the important reset button. Hopefully.... let me know.

Problem: Power supply shutdown suddenly with in 5 mins of starting miner.
What is your exact PSU? below is screen shot of psu Yep, PSU problems. Its not sufficient to power an entire S3 as both PCI-E cables are on one rail.

I have 4 x S3 antminers . I had the 10/24 firmware on them seems like MY GHS was dropping from 450 to 340+ but never going back up to 450 or even close any ideas. When I reboot the GHS jumps back up for about 10-12HRs then back down again. All set at s3+ default 225. I changed the voltage to 0770. I just installed Doges firmware on one of them to try it. Any one has any ideas it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
do what i did, go to "scheduled tasks" and input this 0 */4 * * * /sbin/reboot this reboots ur miners every 4 hours or u can select whatever amount to put in, i found they lasted 4 hours and then required a kick in the ass to get the ghs back up there. I am not really good at linux. Can you please provide instructions on how to do this. After I get to the command prompt of putty. Also is this a known problem with the S3. Thanks A reboot wont fix this when the S3 drops a blade, I have to shut down psu for a few seconds and power back up again. I hope bitmain fixes the dropping of the blades issue. I have about 2 or 3 drop every day (out of 106) Which firmware are you dropping blades on?

Has anyone actually verified that changing the voltage lowers the watts at the wall?
Yes it has been checked, and NO it does not lower watts at the wall. EDIT though in theory it should...... @Bitmain ... this will cause me to replace all my antminers (72Th) with spoondoolies... the sp20 is much more responsive to voltage changes measured at the wall. Unless I can see the wattage at the wall go down with a downvolt on the S3. Jim There are many many hardware versions of the S3, not all of them support variable voltage AFAIK.

My main concern with the S5 is why does it cost so much?
The C1 is $325 and has FOUR hashing boards. The C1 boards also have a DC/DC converter for every two chips IIRC. The buck controller ICs probably cost more per unit than their custom silicon.
There is a major BOM cost reduction going to the chained design. The controller looks the same (cost reduced beaglebone black), the new chips of course have an NRE that needs to be recouped so they're probably just milking the first batch of people who are gonna buy it just because it's new.
Not even considering the possibility of instability or catastrophic failure due to the chain design, I'm gonna sit on my hands for a while. I'm willing to bet the first few price drops will be pretty good.
Who said they aren't losing $100s on the C1 at that price? You don't know.

Warning: Just received PM from Author named "BITMAINE". Seems very suspicious and has -6 trust rating. If this is truly a BitMain account, please verify.
Thanks, that guy is persistent. Forwarded to tomato as well. If in the future you want to check if someone is a BITMAIN account (apart from me), check BITMAIN's signature.
