Atalanta have made progress in the recent times. They haven't lost for four weeks in the league. They could have even increase their winning streak to three games if they managed to beat Juventus. They had a potential to do it as well because of getting ahead two times in the game. But this performance was still promising for their future games. This time they are playing a comfortable game against Sampdoria. I don't expect a surprising result in this. Sampdoria are obviously one of the worst teams of the season. They can't resist much here.

It was nice to watch Manchester City and Arsenal facing each other for the first time in this season. I can't say that Manchester City were too dominant. There was a good balance mostly but it was more in favour of Manchester City in the second half especially. Thanks to Ake's goal they won by 1-0 and eliminated Arsenal in the FA Cup. I was giving Arsenal also to advance to next round. But Manchester City did a good job about keeping them away from a goal. We watched Trossard also in this game by the way. Arteta wanted to see him playing right away.

Tottenham seem determined to finish the signing of Pedro Porro from Sporting in the coming days. He has a release clause worth 45 million euros and Sporting want them to pay the sum to be able to sign him. He is a young and skilled right-back but he has been playing as a right midfielder for Sporting. It hasn't been even a year since he joined the team from Manchester City by the way. He has been a productive player as well by 3 goals and 11 assists in 25 games in total. There are quite many players for the right-back position at Tottenham now. So I wonder if Tottenham are planning to part ways with anyone there depending on the result of this transfer attempt.

Lorient - Rennes is the only game in the league today. Rennes are quite favourite for the win here. They beat Lorient away in their last two head-to-head games by comfortable scores. But in both cases Lorient were having a really bad season in the league. Things are more different now as we see Lorient only a few points behind them. Rennes had better not underestimate their opponent. Lorient were nearly beating Monaco home this season and this could be the same for Monaco as well depending on the performances. You know how Inter lost to Empoli last week. Skriniar's red card changed the way the game was going and they lost by 1-0. That week was a golden opportunity for Inter to capture the second position in the standings actually. Because if they won they were going to take the position from Milan. But still I can say that they are in a better form than Milan and Lazio both recently. Inter's next game is an away one against Cremonese. They are going to play against literally the worst team in the league now. I don't think Inter will make any mistake this time.

Xabi Alonso is doing a great work with Leverkusen despite not being a very experienced manager. This is even his first serious management experience but he is already doing a very good work. This might be related to his experience in the Bundesliga as a footballer as well. But not all such managers are successful as a manager too of course - for example Lampard. Maybe it is really difficult but Leverkusen can still increase their chance on finishing at a good position this season as long as they keep up a good form like this for a long time.

I believe in Chelsea to beat Fulham this time. Their last game was a really big waste for Chelsea. Felix's getting red card made things really difficult for Chelsea and they lost the game after that. But in Stamford Bridge hopefully we will watch a different Chelsea. Fulham are in a bad condition as well because of losing their last two games. I think with the help of new transfers they will look stronger than before. Maybe the final score would still be a close one but Chelsea can still win this. Mudryk seemed really promising by his first game already.

Barcelona were already in control of the game before the red card. But that red card made things even worse for Real Sociedad. Because despite being overwhelmed by Barcelona they were still resisting them very well. But not much time after the red card Barcelona finally got ahead. And this was the only goal of the game as well. Honestly it was still a risky score for Barcelona because Real Sociedad had many more goal attempts in the second half despite the red card. Barcelona might have had to play extra time as well if their opponent managed to find the equalizer. This would have make the players much more tired.

Everton want 60 million pounds for Anthony Gordon and this has affected the interested teams in a negative way as it seems. Newcastle and Chelsea both seem that they have ended their interest in him. Newcastle are thinking of Ziyech as an alternative target to Gordon. Maybe Gordon was a much younger player and he could have improved his game more at a better playing team. However Ziyech also might be useful for Newcastle as he is an experienced player. I know that he hasn't been too effective at Chelsea but maybe things would be better at a different team for him.

PSG have boosted their morale incredibly much after winning their game in the Coupe de France by 7-0. Maybe they played against a very weak team but this result would still be helpful for them to be better. They have lost quite many points in the league these days. This was a big help for teams like Lens and Marseille to catch up with them. However in the long run I still expect PSG to secure their title in the league. They are still way stronger than any team remaining here. It is only up to PSG players to stay focused and keep a good winning streak. Lens - Marseille duo are more likely to drop down from the title competition at a point in my opinion. But I'd really love to see this title competition lasting nearly until the end of the season.

Manchester United's next game is going to be against Crystal Palace. This time I think they won't make a mistake and they will beat Crystal Palace. The last time Manchester United were really effective in the game actually. They found so many opportunities to score but still couldn't get the win they wanted. Crystal Palace resisted them pretty well and they could have even beaten them if it weren't for Wan-Bissaka's great defending on a goal chance. In Old Trafford I expect a clear victory by the Red Devils. They are one of the strongest home teams in this season and we should see another proof of it in this.

Dortmund were actually doing a really good job in the first half. They found so many goal opportunities and benefited from one of those. But the second half has been much more different. Mainz have found many more opportunities to score. This has been making me worried about Dortmund's possibility of even losing here. But hopefully it won't happen. While I was writing Dortmund got 2-1 ahead. Reyna is there to save his team by scoring a goal in the stoppage time. I assume they would keep this score until the end. It will be a nice winning streak for Dortmund.

The point gap is 12 points between Milan and Napoli and we can comfortably say that Napoli will win the league title nearly guaranteed. It is near impossible for Milan or some other team to catch up with Napoli while keeping an inconsistent form. Napoli's next fixture is against Roma by the way and it isn't that much difficult to predict the result of this game. Roma were too passive against Napoli in their latest game in the league. This cost them highly as Napoli beat them easily. I don't expect a different scenario in this one as well.

Every big team experience such games in which they lose points despite dominating it with their game. It was the same scenario for Bayern Munich against Koln. Koln were able to go for only two goal attempts but still one of them ended up with a goal. They resisted incredibly well despite Bayern Munich's trying everything they could. The captain Kimmich still became his team's savior in the 90th minute but Koln still got what they wanted. This kind of point losses are nice to see for Bayern Munich in my opinion because these are keeping the championship race alive for teams like Leipzig for example.

I think Barcelona's financial condition and financial fair-play rules are the biggest hindrances for Barcelona to sign Messi back. Otherwise of course Messi would prefer returning there instead of extending contract with PSG. Maybe even the reason why he wants to think about his future now could be the probability of a return to his old team. Messi wouldn't see it as a big problem for himself if he takes his time by going free agent for some time as well. I don't think there is any need for Messi at Barcelona from now on. They can only sign him back if they want to make him play for them one last time right before his retirement.

It was a big humiliation for Milan unfortunately. Maybe Lazio are one of the strong teams in the league but losing this game by 4-0 is still unacceptable for Milan. I'm aware of their defensive weaknesses of course. But at least they could have been much more effective in attacking to be able to fight against Lazio decently. But the statistics are very misleading for this game. I was relying on Leao about their scoring strength but he was also silent this time. Milan can't achieve any title as long as they play like this in this season.
