It was an important win for West Ham after a long break. The situation was the same for Everton as well but they couldn't do much in this game.

I was actually surprised when I saw the odds first. Because there was a huge gap as West Ham were favoured too highly to win this game. It looks like bookmakers knew what they were doing. There wasn't much difference between these teams in the league actually. Their positions in the standings weren't very different. Lampard is getting close to the end of his time at Everton.

We are all sorry for Juventus but there is nothing to do. They should have been more careful about this. They have a really bad history with this kind of scandals in the end. I can't believe how they can do this again.

There is no way they are closing the gap up with the fourth placed team as of now. Maybe there are so many games to be played but a gap of twelve points is very difficult to close for any team. Juventus just need to get very lucky and win all of their games at the same time. Some big players might even decide to leave the team if they can't qualify for the Champions League especially.

Crystal Palace have been doing a good job for themselves for two weeks. They stole one point from each one of Manchester United and Newcastle. Honestly I was expecting Newcastle to beat them this time. They had a huge dominance in both halves actually but this didn't result in any goal for them unfortunately. Manchester United have an opportunity to leave them behind now but their job is much tougher of course.

Newcastle haven't been losing for a long time maybe but they have started to get quite many draws recently. They had better improve it again to consolidate their presence in top four more.

Marseille are maintaining their impressive winning streak and I think it is time to get another win against Monaco next. This is a thing they did before already. They beat Monaco in front of their supporters and they can do this again in front of their own supporters this time. I don't think Marseille will leave Lens behind by this week because Lens don't have a tough game ahead.

Troyes wouldn't be a big deal for Lens while they are on a great run. Lens struggled against Strasbourg though and got a draw. But they must have learned their lesson already.

Atletico Madrid got a very comfortable win and took a deep breath. But this shouldn't cause them to be complacent even a little. They need to make a huge improvement in their form to be more convincing. It is for their sake considering the Champions League ticket. They can't afford staying out of top four area at the end of the season. They are already having a bad season in general.

I think they will stay in top four at the end but the fans wouldn't be very contented with this effort anyway. Let's see what Atletico Madrid board think of doing in this summer.

Bad days have restarted for Leicester after having some good time in the league. They lost their last four games and they might be likely to lose another one now.

Their next game is against Brighton home and it is another challenging game for them. Brighton are in a great shape now especially after destroying Liverpool. They would be very motivated for another win in this game while Leicester are not in a good mental condition. Leicester couldn't score even a single goal in their last two games. I wouldn't bet on both teams to score. I would rather betting on Brighton win as there is a quite big possibility. Their odd is very favorable now.

Leipzig did the thing I was expecting from them by scoring a goal. But the final result was 1-1 which was beyond my expectation. Bayern Munich should have been able to win this game anyway. But in the second half Leipzig even found more goal opportunities than them. I can't say that Bayern Munich had the game under control much in that half either.

Leipzig just took advantage of this situation. I assume they are happy with the result as Bayern Munich were the absolute favourite in this game to win.

The Marseille - Rennes game in the French Cup has started already.

It is going on balanced for now but I'm expecting Marseille to beat Rennes in this. Each one of these teams is performing nicely in the league. However Marseille have a form that is even better than PSG these days. They can make use of this here in this game as well. Both sides care about the cup quite much as it seems when we check the lineups. This game might end after extra time at least maybe but still I think Marseille will win. Their advantage of playing home should also help.
The match ended for Marseille's narrow victory thanks to Guendouzi's 1 goal in the 59th minute.
This is another positive note for Marseille because with this they have now won 6 in a row in all competitions and this is definitely a good morale kick for them to navigate the season after a not-so-good start.
The match went quite well, even though most of the balls only played in the midfield, this was still a treat worth watching.

It was a really important win for Marseille as they have eliminated one of the toughest teams in the tournament.

Marseille were very dominant in the first half but couldn't score any goal. Rennes started to balance the game in the second half. They even captured a huge ball possession percentage as well but this still didn't prevent Marseille from scoring a goal finally. Considering the whole game I think Marseille deserved the win. It just seemed hard for them to get a very comfortable game and that was what happened actually.

Bayern Munich are full of star players. Mane's absence doesn't affect the team too much now. They are still going on from where they left as usual. Choupo-Moting is still impressing us by his scoring productivity these days. He scored the only goal of the game now as you know already. This was a big task for him to fill Lewandowski's place as good as possible. And his performance is really nice so far.

Leipzig can have difficulties while there is no Nkunku. But at least they should be able to score one goal. At the end Bayern Munich can win here anyway.

Liverpool - Chelsea game can be really amazing tomorrow. Liverpool are the closest team to win in my opinion. I know that they are in a similar condition in the standings now. But I still see Liverpool being ahead slightly. Maybe they didn't get good results in Anfield against Chelsea in last two meets. But this means that Liverpool need to be more careful this time.

I don't think it will happen three times in a row for Chelsea. They are still very unpredictable and Liverpool are one of the impressive home teams currently.

When it comes to Sevilla I feel positive about their next game honestly. Cadiz are really a team that they can beat home.

It can still be a very challenging game for them considering their recent effort. But this is really one of the games they should be able to win for their sake. They can't do better against big teams obviously. They need to put a big effort into the other games to guarantee their staying in the La Liga at least. After all those games I guess Sevilla's main goal is to cling to the La Liga. The Europa League might be in the second plan now.

David Moyes is seen as an option for Everton replace with Lampard now.

However I don't know how this move would affect the team. Because Moyes also isn't having a good time with West Ham this season. They are another team under the threat of relegating. I wonder if Moyes can still be good for Everton and save the team from this area. It is already obvious that things won't go better with Lampard. They need to act quick if they are thinking of a replacement seriously. Otherwise it can be too late for everything.
Agree. I don't think David Moyes is better than Lampard. Everton should find another option, why they don't try to contact Tuchel? Who knows that Tuchel wants to manage Everton? Everton management must try to negotiate with Tuchel or other coaches who have good track records in EPL. David Moyes can be the alternative if there are no other better coaches. Everton is in the degradation zone, they need a quality coach to give an instant impact, to make them out of the zone.

I think Tuchel would be an amazing signing for them. He is one of the prominent managers now. He has a huge experience with big teams as well. But I doubt he would like to sign for them. I think he would rather signing for another big team after his Chelsea journey. Because if he comes to Everton then he will need to be very patient to make this team better than this bad look.

It can be a long adventure until Everton go back to their old times. First of all they need new signings to make the lineup stronger than this. Then they can do a much better work with the right management.

It was a very impressive comeback by Manchester City. I remember such efforts by them in the past as well.

Tottenham's getting 2-0 ahead in the last moments of the first half was pretty shocking to me. They weren't even statistically better but everything happened so fast. This made me think like Tottenham were going to win once again in Etihad. But there was a completely different Manchester City in the second half. Bringing the score from 0-2 to 4-2 is a very tough job to do. They did it even against one of the big teams in the league. Tottenham must be the most winning team against Manchester City considering their history but this time they couldn't do it.
3295  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: January 19, 2023, 11:09:46 PM
After the score became 2-0 I started to be quite sure about Villarreal to beat them once again. But the comeback by Real Madrid was definitely impressive. This still doesn't mean that Real Madrid are in a better shape. They are still having problems on defending especially. They shouldn't have conceded this many goals in the first place.

Real Madrid need to play stronger than this if they want to keep their La Liga title chase. Otherwise this weakness can cause them to lose many more points.

There is some rotation in Juventus lineup and I don't know why. They are already lacking some important players due to injuries. They should play with their usual lineup in the Coppa Italia as well. This is one of the tournaments they have a chance to win the title. They should do their best here. Allegri also had better do this if he wants to consolidate his place in the team.

Juventus seemed better in the first half and hopefully they will finish the incomplete job in the second half by a nice win.
3297  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: January 19, 2023, 08:46:49 PM
There is still no goal in the game but Manchester City are keeping their superiority at least. They have made quite many goal attempts so far. It feels like the goal is almost upon us. But the first half is about to end and it looks like the score will be a draw at the end of the half. But the second half can be much different than this hopefully. Otherwise it will be a really boring game while there is no goal.

While I was making the post Tottenham scored first very surprisingly.  Cheesy  It is like we are back to the previous season now where Tottenham beat them here by 3-2. I wonder if this game will also end up with a similar result. Or maybe this goal will trigger Manchester City to make a comeback and win.

EDIT: Another goal by Tottenham and it is 2-0 now.  Cheesy  Unbelievable! What is going on with Manchester City?

Real Madrid don't have a shot on target yet while Villarreal have found a goal on their first shot on target. This is quite unlucky for Real Madrid at the same time maybe. But it is still obvious that they are having the same struggles against Villarreal once again. Ancelotti should have been able to find a solution to this kind of defending already.

I really don't know what is going wrong with Real Madrid players these days. I hope they pull themselves together as quick as possible. They have title runs to maintain in the La Liga and Champions League.

I was waiting for a tough rivalry between Milan and Inter but I didn't get what I expected at all. Inter had a great first half and got a big 2-0 advantage. Even though Milan started to be in control in the second half still Inter scored another and finished the job. This must be the most comfortable Super Cup for Inter against a big team in the league.

Pioli must do something about this defensive problem. They are so vulnerable that it costs them too much. The pressure will be on Milan's shoulders from now on as Inter have already got a title in the season.
