341  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Your Bitcoin Wallet Be Hacked? How Can You Secure It? on: August 16, 2021, 02:38:56 PM
I'm pretty sure a lot of replies have been focused on 2FA, and I do agree that 2FA gives us the best security we can get for our wallets, same with digital fiat wallets, 2FA gives us good security, but we're still vulnerable of getting robbed if we'll only rely on 2FA, you still have to be knowledgeable around the internet, avoid clicking suspicious links or files, we're still at risk and the internet is filled with hackers, we're not safe but we can at least prevent some things to happen.
342  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Pi network issue on: August 16, 2021, 11:35:56 AM
I tried telling everyone how fishy the Pi network is, apparently, the article was a few months ago, again, I've heard of Pi network a few years ago, up until now, it still has no value and is not even in the market, also, a lot of citizens have been convinced on using the Pi Network's mining app, and it is really trending around the Philippines regardless of their data getting leaked, I've heard some people that Pi does sell their data in order to gain profit, I don't have that much knowledge on how they earn profit from selling data but the whole Pi Network looks really fishy, and this "Pi trend" in the Philippines cannot be helped, if you know better, just uninstall the application and tell your friends that their data with the Pi network can be easily breached.
343  Economy / Economics / Re: "Crypto is no longer in the early adoption stage" on: August 16, 2021, 08:57:19 AM
Ah, one man's opinion.  The 12 years that bitcoin has been around might seem like a long time, especially for people in their 30s or younger, but in the grand scheme of things it really isn't.  Personally, most people I know in the real world don't invest in or use bitcoin for anything at all, which leads me to believe that adoption isn't as advanced as the article would have us believe.

True, progress has been made in the past couple of years at a rate that probably exceeded the previous 10 years combined, but I still think of bitcoin (and crypto in general) as a new asset class and something that hasn't had all the kinks worked out of it yet.  Plus with all of this regulation and attention from governments, who knows what the crypto space is going to look like 10 years from now.  It could be pretty bleak, though I'm hoping it doesn't turn out that way.

Just like what @The Pharmacist said, crypto is definitely still in the early stage, we do have to agree with the fact that Bitcoin did hit a lot of advancements, the value has grown big, but in a span of 12 years, Bitcoin is still young and I do think it has a lot of years to go for before it really hits the advanced stage, alongside with other cryptocurrencies in the market, I wonder how much of an advancement Bitcoin will take in the future, after 10 or 15 years.
344  Economy / Economics / Re: COVID advanced the world into the future on: August 16, 2021, 03:59:18 AM
I think it is, even though it seemed untrue and imposible for other people to adapt like the people who are not into technologies. They have no choice but to go with the flow. When the pandemic started, different online services or platforms existed and we need to adapt to stay at the fast-paced of technology. Even the students here in our country, need to have a cellphone or laptop to attend online classes, some people need technologies to communicate with thier loveones.

Here in India, online education was something new. There were a lot of teachers and students who didn't had a smartphone or laptop, and on top of that many of them who had these were not knowledgeable on how to use them for online classes. But now, after one and half years, it looks as if everyone got adjusted to it. The initial hiccups have been overcome, and now very few issues are being reported. Now getting the students back to the school after the pandemic is going to be one tough task.

That's good to hear, I'm glad that every country is learning how to adapt with this new setup, here in my country, it's almost the same with India, we even had protesters complaining to put a halt to our education system knowing how big of a factor poverty is, but we somehow pulled off a rough year and end up having everyone used to this setup, I can't say it's the best set-up and assure thst students will have fun, but we can't be left behind for sure.
345  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Whose job should be more appreciated about Bitcoin widespread? on: August 15, 2021, 09:07:05 PM
Honestly, it's more of a team effort, I mean there is literally no team but if you'd look at it closely how big of an impact everyone is when it comes to Bitcoin's widespread, to put it in simple words, all of the roles, honestly deserves to be appreciated. But when we talk about power around social media and how impactful publicity is? it's definitely Elon and the influencers, just imagine Doge going back up after a weeks, but let's not forget about the investors, the miners, the traders, they all play a role that makes Bitcoin where it is right now.
346  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the legal status of Bitcoin in your country? on: August 15, 2021, 08:09:08 PM
In my country, the government ain't against nor stands with Bitcoin, though we do have the freedom to engage and buy as much as many bitcoins we can afford, our country is slowly evolving to the full-on digital age and alongside with crypto slowly being recognized by the citizens, it's a slowly developing process, but slow process is still process.
347  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Rock Legend Gene Simmons Says He's "All In" on Bitcoin on: August 15, 2021, 07:52:22 PM
Quite easy for Gene to actually expand his fortune through crypto, with the amount of his money in his pockets, the only thing left for him to do is to gain knowledge within crypto, and he did, once you engage in the market and crypto, you'll definitely go all-in without any kind of hesitation, what is there to lose anyway when he has all the resources he needs, wise choice from him, what a legend indeed.
348  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is there any miner who have not sold any bitcoin from the beginning? on: August 15, 2021, 05:11:18 PM
Can't be, the amount of your electricity bill with a large mining rig is impossible for a miner to hold all of his bitcoins, it's impossible, well unless if you are Satoshi, just like what @mk4 has said, you can't hold all of your earned bitcoins from mining without having to sell any of it, unless if you have a huge budget intended for Bitcoin mining and that the amount of budget you have will last for years  Grin
349  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Argentine President sees no reason to oppose Bitcoin adoption on: August 15, 2021, 08:14:33 AM
With the economic drought that the majority of countries are experiencing, I think it's safe to assume that most of these countries are likely to put Bitcoin as an option in the midst of this economic drought and not oppose to it, though after reading a few replies in this thread, the topic and the article is heavily misleading, but I do get the OP's point, but the whole topic is misinforming.
350  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can BTC become the world central currency? on: August 14, 2021, 08:37:21 AM
Just imagine if Bitcoin becomes the world's central currency, looking at Bitcoin's volatility now and looking at Bitcoin's volatility if it becomes the world's central currency, it would be much worse than it is right now, so a lot of people will actually say no, the volatility now is actually high, we can't entrust everything at a currency with this much volatility.
351  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The ideology of Bitcoin on: August 14, 2021, 08:15:56 AM
The ideology you gave is actually on point, though it may sound like a double-edged sword but that's actually the point on why there's a love-hate relationship with Bitcoin and the people, also, volatile may seem to be like a villain and a hero at the same time, too much volatility is indeed scary but we can't control it either can we? The thing is, Bitcoin will be here to stay, more and more people would engage in crypto, but fiat won't go away either, we have options.
352  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should I buy Bitcoin? on: August 11, 2021, 09:00:47 PM
You can buy around at least $50 to start trading, $50 and a dream, you'll need to do a lot of research and self-study, there are various platforms in learning how to trade, YouTube, this forum can help you as well, Instagram, etc. One thing I can say is to not go around buying and selling immediately, being a good observer is part of constructing a good strategical plan when doing trading.
353  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto vs Fiat on: August 11, 2021, 08:41:33 PM
Just goes to show how big of a value crypto (especially Bitcoin) is in the future, just like Gold, Bitcoin will continuously grow as the years pass by, meanwhile, fiat will be at a constant level, but it does not mean that fiat will stay flat, of course, it will grow as well, but compare it to Bitcoin and you'll see the difference, the OP wants everyone to know that holding what we have right now will definitely benefit us if we do hold it for a long time, if gold gained its value like that for a long time, just imagine Bitcoin alone, and just imagine how huge the profit we'll gain.
354  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin after the pandemic on: August 11, 2021, 09:07:12 AM
Even after the pandemic, I think Bitcoin and the market's movement would flow the way it normally does? Just my own opinion because I think that with the exposure Bitcoin and the market has gained during the pandemic, I highly believe that after the pandemic, more people would prefer to choose Bitcoin knowing on how beneficial it is rather than sticking with fiat alone.
355  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Identifying Satoshi Would Be a BAD Thing on: August 11, 2021, 08:12:13 AM
Pseudonym indeed, no man would want to give him/her the identity especially about Bitcoin, we can't say that there were no issues or controversies regarding Bitcoin back then, also, anonymity stands in well with Bitcoin that the creator itself is anonymous, and no matter how hard these people who are devoted to this mission will try, they won't get a single clue, and no, there's no reward if you found him/her, let's just leave the mystery be and let Satoshi live in peace, it would definitely be a bad idea for the creator to be discovered, so bad in so many different aspects.
356  Economy / Economics / Re: Cryptocurrency: The Future of Finance in a New World Order? on: August 11, 2021, 06:09:59 AM
Imagine a concept of a world without physical currency. It is strange, but real. Money will be removed and replaced with a digital currency system.

It may be strange when we think of it now, getting used to the traditional way, money on our pockets, wallets, going to banks to make transactions, but because of the pandemic, even those people who are not familiar with digital banks and cryptocurrency would be convinced to make transactions and receive money digitally, because we have no choice, therefore it is slowly becoming a norm in our society (well, at least in my country). I do believe in a future wherein we'll hold our money not physically, but digitally, through our smartphones/digital wallets.

357  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: About the popularity of Bitcoin on: August 09, 2021, 02:01:44 PM
I believe that a lot of organizations are prioritizing the technology that can be of benefit to the blind people, voice-recognition technology and AI could play a big role in this development, so I do believe that with enough budget and development research, even the blind people can have a much more convenient way in making or taking payment in the future.

358  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buy Low, Sell High on: August 08, 2021, 08:17:26 PM
Can't blame ourselves for not taking the opportunity, no one expected Bitcoin would go from $3800 to $16500 in just a few months anyway, just pure regret on not realizing that this would be coming, and now, the price is at $43000, that's quite insane, those who made the huge profit are the real winners here, also, it's just a matter of luck with the numbers and probably a close observation on the price, if I were even trying to make huge profits, I'd still think that the $3800 price would even go lower and try to buy some bitcoins lowe than that, but now all we can do now is pure regret, it is what it is, I guess.
359  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Some recent tweets by Elon Musk showing he is starting to warm up to Bitcoin? on: August 08, 2021, 07:33:38 PM
Among the achievements Elon has reached, he's a clever and smart guy, been following him since he established SpaceX, and even I myself would like to be paid in Bitcoin rather than be paid in fiat, I mean who wouldn't want to be paid in Bitcoin, right? you may think of volatility as a downside but it actually is the advantage, just imagine the price peaking from the current price right now, the profit itself cannot even be compared when you are earning money through fiat.
360  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you know the difference between Bitcoin and bitcoin? on: August 08, 2021, 03:03:51 PM
I'm quite sure that with whatever style of saying Bitcoin is, it's automatic that we're only pointing out Bitcoin itself, but formalization is a must, in my opinion, in order to construct a better sentence, Bitcoin or BTC is the correct way when you're going to mention Bitcoin on your sentences, and btw, I am not trying to convince anyone, just saying that based on my own observation, it has been a norm around here in the community and amongst the topics and replies that I have read during my time here in the forum.
