342  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy at $780-800 USD on: January 11, 2017, 10:29:19 PM
Price now is 768 dollars for 1 btc, and I see this as a huge drop. Spazzdla you are legendary member, and I see you are long in this business, do you really think it will rise again. I have some amount, and now I wondering to hold more or to sell and take what I can take.
I have never been in situation like this one, so any advice would be great. I`m thinking about it all day, and I regret cause I didnt sell when it was 1000. I`m a rooky in all this, and now I`m sweating and wondering what to do and to not make some big mistake.

Let me tell you the story of how I started with BTC.  Similar to many peoples I am sure.

I was playing golf in 2013 and my buddy tells us we should buy bitcoin, $70 per coin.  I look into it, spend some time to complicated give up.  Was going to buy 10. Forget about it.

Dec 2016, I read BTC is $600... FOMO (fear of missing out) sets in and I get setup on an exchange as quick as possible, takes several days, BTC explodes during that time.. now over $1000, I am setup. I buy into bitcoin first at $1100 CAD, oh ya I did.
It starts dropping and I want to get in at mining.  I buy 4 S1's when BTC was around $800, the network difficult spikes... the returns are not what I anticipated.  I got my coins back but it cost hydro to do it.  I still want to mine and buy the S3's as soon as they come out, probably turn a small profit even after power costs.
Buy more coins around $600 then at $400.. BTC drops to $200(The S1s are shut off).  I do nothing for a bit, it holds at $200.  I buy some at $200 planning to buy a larger chuck at $100 and double every bitcoin I own at $50.

Bitcoin skyrockets to $500(I buy a tad). Falls holds for some time(S3's are shut off, draw way to much power, buy USB miners to mine for fun).

Bitcoin skyrockets to $780, falls, holds for a a tad.

Bitcoin skyrockets to $1500 CANDIAN Wink, falls (I buy a tad),  and here we are.

I have been watching a lot of BNN and it has been suggested buying lower to drop your average buy cost is a good idea.  You REALLY need to look into what you are buying however.  I believe BTC has a chance to rival gold as a store of value.  Could also be a world reserve currency but forget about dreaming crazy big just looking at a store of value, if BTC held 50% the market cap of gold.. $250,000.00  per coin..  IMO BTC is better in gold in every way EXCEPT, for world ending situations and lets be honest who cares you're probably dead and the potential for an unknown bug or flaw in an encryption algo that doesn't get fixed.  I am betting on any bug we run into gets fixed with out the failure of BTC and it seriously competes with gold as the store of value people chose in rough times.
343  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Called the CRA (Canadian tax revenue agency...)... on: January 11, 2017, 07:51:48 PM

I feel like we are in the 1200's and people are just starting to use silver and gold to store wealth.. Then almost instantly everyone used it to exchange value..

The real point of this thread is.. this made me pretty bullish that BTC is still so small even tax agencies ignore it.

buy buy buy

I'm still a newb at bitcoin, but it doesn't take a genius to know its a good hodl

"  hodlers and whales assembled to soak up the BearWhale’s coins, successfully slaying it. This event was commemorated with artwork of the battle, such as the picture atop this post. "

BUYING ALL THE COINS!!!!!.

I will never sell all of my coins but I do plan to sell some on the way up.
344  Economy / Economics / Re: $1100 to $750 is significant on: January 11, 2017, 07:50:36 PM
We might end up testing $220... Planning on buying a min of 3 BTC at $250 usd.

Not going to happen, if anything we will settle were we where in late Nov, just below $600.  Although i guess you might be being sarcastic, i hope so  Grin

Alas.. I am not being sarcastic :S.. Fear could push people to sell to cover potentially losing everything.

I will profit off of that fear.
345  Economy / Speculation / Re: 780 broken.. 500 .. maybe even 220-240 again... ? on: January 11, 2017, 07:48:12 PM

I'm not that much on the bear side.

349  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy at $780-800 USD on: January 11, 2017, 06:09:36 PM
Buy all the coins, ALL OF THEM.

This is the resistance line.. HODL IT and profit from it.
Enjoy bagholding , price will go sub 700 fast.

Been bag holding since 2013.  Buying them coins at $200 seems like that was a good plan.

350  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Raspi, R-box miner and Sidehack stick on: January 11, 2017, 06:08:32 PM

351  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should I backup my bitcoin? How do you backup yours? on: January 11, 2017, 03:57:59 PM
OMG YES..

I have it backed up on 10 USBs, 100 DVD's (OH THAT IS RIGHT ONE HUNDERED DVD's),  5 M-Discs and a few paper copies.

Don't mess around back it up like your life depended on it.
352  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Called the CRA (Canadian tax revenue agency...)... on: January 11, 2017, 03:55:03 PM
I don't understand why would you want to pay tax on Bitcoin? First of all its not Canada currency. Two there no rule that says you need to pay your tax on btc. It's decentralised for a reason and no country can charge a tax in it until they have a valid law. You should call a law firm and ask did Canada over night make a law to charge tax on Bitcoin, you seem so panicky may I know why. All this time you would have traded without fear. So why wake up suddenly?

You most certainly do have to pay tax.  I haven't traded just bought.  ANYTHING you buy and then sell for cash and make money on you must pay capital gains.

As deisik  just said.. I don't want to be the guy that doesn't tell the CRA then I am on the news the next day,  everything taken from me and looking at years in prison because they are cucks.

The tax man is a bastered with an army behind him.. do not try to fuck him or he will fuck you so hard you can never walk again.

*EDIT*
Sorry I like my "colourful" language.

353  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Chinese police raid miner factories in its oil capital city, 1k+ miners seized on: January 11, 2017, 03:51:42 PM
Wondering if it was their obsolete mine and they just took S3's and S1's LMAO.,
354  Bitcoin / Mining support / Raspi, R-box miner and Sidehack stick on: January 11, 2017, 03:50:27 PM
Does anyone have a youtube video on how to get these two miners to  work on raspbin?

I have probably spent over 40 hours trying with zero success.. windows took me like 10 mintues...  It is widly frustrating.

So many different guides.. all fail....

Even tried a mining OS.. didn't boot up..

Would be nice if I could buy a windows 10 OS that could be installed on three different comps and it worked on rasp pi..

357  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Called the CRA (Canadian tax revenue agency...)... on: January 10, 2017, 08:42:21 PM
I just found this thread..

Please stop informing the CRA about bitcoin.

As far as they know, Bitcoin is an intangible asset.

If you want to collect tax and send it to them, they will gladly take your money..

But, for the love of Bitcoin, don't tell them that you can get MONEY for it!

The gov of Canada is very friendly towards BTC.  Our senate has spent over 10 hours in meetings with people about bitcoin.  Check out the youtube video with the senate talking to Andreas A.

When (not if) BTC gets to $10 CAD the CRA will know all about Bitcoin.

Don't try to cheat the CRA that is the best advice you will ever get on this planet.
358  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Called the CRA (Canadian tax revenue agency...)... on: January 10, 2017, 07:45:57 PM
Future knowledge.. the gov LOVES to rape the little guy.  If they found out someone in the middle class sold something they bought for lets say $1 million and didn't tell them they would fine you $1 million PLUS gains..

So I need to tell them up front or they will go out of their way to "make an example" out of me so the other 98% knows they will get raped if they try to hide money.

I have heard some vicious stores about the CRA.
359  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Really no talk of segwit / big blocks.. on: January 10, 2017, 07:43:27 PM
Thanks for that! A useful summery.
360  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Called the CRA (Canadian tax revenue agency...)... on: January 10, 2017, 05:41:00 PM
First person couldn't answer the question about what to do If I bought BTC and then sell at a gain what  to do.

Get it moved up to another person, they answer treat it as a stock.  I get asked how I am going to do that since no one exchanges it..

Convo goes something kind of like this:

But it's not traded how are you going to sell it.

Yes it is there is a rather large exchange in Canada I deal with, .quadrigacx.

Oh, but no one is going to send you a check for money for btc.

Yes they will I can ask for a check from quadrigacx..

The convo kind of gets repeated about 3 times till I say I should have enough info and thank you for the help.

The bloody CRA doesn't even know about bitcoin..

It is very difficult to ask tax questions , etc when they know nothing about it..

I also asked if I have to pay capital gains if I buy something with it.

Well it's not a currency so that doesn't matter.. you can't buy anything with it.

WELL THAT IS WHERE YOU ARE WRONG KIDO.  I can and do buy things with it all the time, it seems I don't have to pay capital gains though if I buy things with it and make gains from my initial purchase :O!!

I feel like we are in the 1200's and people are just starting to use silver and gold to store wealth.. Then almost instantly everyone used it to exchange value..
