341  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: I lost my money due to an exchange error (I think) on: October 05, 2023, 07:58:25 PM
No, not necessarily. A lot of exchange do use the same address for all EVM compatible chains (Polygon, BSC, fantom, arbitrum, zkSync, optimism etc.)

Now that you've made the withdrawal, i would assume you tried to check the deposit address again and it's still the one you used? If so, then this could be an issue with the exchange not detecting your transaction, and not with you sending funds to the wrong address.

I would reach out to the support of the second exchange. This is assuming you're using two reputables platforms.

344  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trezor New Hardware Wallet _____! on: October 05, 2023, 02:06:30 PM
-snip-

A new model with their own secure element? Is that actually something they talked about before?

I'm really wondering what are the important features they are missing, that would require them to release new hardware for them to implement. Any thoughts? aside from maybe support for more non-EVM crypto?
345  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: SAFEPAL SEED on: October 04, 2023, 05:22:24 PM
Thank U guys, this can help me, however I write a python code maybe someone can help me with it

The problem is that I don't know the API to run my python code. can someone help with this?

this is the complete code:
-snip-

Why didn't you go with btcrecover? I don't think you would find much difficulty brute-forcing the wallet using it.

As for your code, I'm guessing it has been generated by AI? because I don't see where you get the URL from, and the idea that you could pass "phrases" to their site to recover your wallet. That's not something you can do.

Maybe you can try some library like this one[1. I went through it quickly, and it looks like it would help you but there might be some better alternatives out there.

I would imagine something like this (simplified) would work:

- Check if the seed is valid by replacing that word like you're already doing
- Generate an address(es) from that seed, and compare it to the address you previously had on SafePal.

346  Economy / Exchanges / Re: withdraw crypto from bitget on: October 04, 2023, 03:28:49 PM
It should be possible with USDT (Arbitrum One)[1]. The minimum is 4 USDT, for a fee of 0.1 USDT. Or you can also try with ADA (minimum is 4 which is about a dollar, for a 0.8 ADA fee). I'm sure you can find other cryptos. What is it exactly you want to test though?

347  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Revolut bitcoin deposit on: October 04, 2023, 02:57:39 PM
I appreciate everyone's response. To answer the questions:

Their service is custodial just like any other exchange out there. The amount I sent was pretty insignificant and it doesn't look like the owner's account got frozen. He also reached out to the support, and just like @BitMax said, it might take 24 hours in some cases, but it's more than 24 hours after the first confirmation, and still pending.

When did Revolut started to allow sending and receiving Bitcoin? Last time when I checked it wasn't possible to have real Bitcoin there and they only allowed to trade inside platform without option to deposit or withdraw.

Not a very long time ago: https://twitter.com/BitcoinNewsCom/status/1698955639995732122

And it's not only bitcoin, there should be a few more assets and then it all depends on your location.
348  Economy / Service Discussion / Revolut bitcoin deposit on: October 03, 2023, 12:00:57 PM
Does anyone here by any chance use Revolut for trading bitcoin? I sent BTC to someone's (I know) Revolut generated address but the funds have not been credited yet. Any thoughts on why? The transaction does show as "Pending" but has received multiple confirmations (17 so far), and the overall balance still shows as zero for some reason. This is all I managed to find[1] but it's pretty vague.

349  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Restoring my wallet on: October 03, 2023, 11:22:32 AM
That file contains your private keys. To restore your wallet you can either:

1. Move that wallet file to the new computer (you'll need a password if it's encrypted).
2. Or, simply use the seed phrase you already have by following this: https://bitcoinelectrum.com/restoring-your-standard-wallet-from-seed/

In both cases, your transaction history should show.
350  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [Discussion] Bitcoin Spot ETFs on: October 02, 2023, 04:14:54 PM
The SEC has also extended its decision time for another Bitcoin ETF that is not mentioned in the table in OP. It's from Global X. They had until 7 October 2023 to either accept or reject it, but they extended their decision for another 45 days.

They have also delayed[1][2] the decision for the rest of ETFs listed on the OP: BlackRock, Invesco, Valkyrie, Bitwise, WisdomTree, Fidelity, and VanEck.

Also, Franklin Templeton has filed a 19b-4 for its spot Bitcoin ETF[3].

351  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Paying ETH fees? on: October 02, 2023, 09:35:51 AM
You won't necessarily need much ETH when/if the next bull run happens for a couple of reasons that were not here before:

- ERC-4337 (assuming that it's widely adopted and used by that time) would allow users to pay using ERC20 tokens, and could even allow third parties to pay the fees for you.
- Layer2 solutions: zkSync, Polygon, Arbitrum, and a few others have all grown and have a much bigger userbase and adoption.

It still wouldn't hurt to have some ETH though. You never know when you might need to move your funds urgently.
352  Local / العربية (Arabic) / Re: Mtgox و اعادة البيتكوين لأصحابها on: October 01, 2023, 05:17:38 PM

353  Other / Archival / Re: Electrum download link on: October 01, 2023, 03:30:09 PM
I can't see the content of the site, but it's obviously a scam. There's is only one official website that you should download from and it's this one: https://electrum.org/

Or the official app from the play store.
354  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: BTC Paper Wallet Recovery on: October 01, 2023, 12:10:59 PM
Thanks everyone. As much as it pains me, I will walk away from this and put it down to a very expensive experience.

What about bitaddress.org as a paper wallet generator. This time, of course, I will generate the wallet offline. Is this still asking for trouble or should I stick to hardware like ledger?

Yes, Bitaddress is good. It's probably best to do it offline and with a LiveCD. You should also sure to download the source code from the official GitHub repository:

https://github.com/pointbiz/bitaddress.org

Stay away from any other generators. In addition to the one you lost the funds to, BitcoinPaperWallet is also a known scam:

355  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: BTC Paper Wallet Recovery on: October 01, 2023, 10:29:21 AM
Apparently, that platform is not trustworthy. There have been multiple incidents where people lost their funds as you can see here[1][2][3]. I doubt anyone could help you recover the funds if the transaction has already been confirmed.

356  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Way to Mix the USDT on: October 01, 2023, 07:43:26 AM
The solutions given above (going through XMR) should work but I must ask, who are you trying to hide your traces from? If it's just the average Joe, then using XMR might be a bit of an overkill, going through any exchange or a centralized service should sufficient.
357  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will my Ledger Nano replace my Metamask wallet or will they work hand-in-hand? on: September 30, 2023, 12:00:24 PM
The same answer pretty much applies to all three questions: It can replace it, but it's probably best to use them together, Ledger Live (ledger's software) doesn't support all tokens/networks. So you need to send all of your funds from MetaMask to Ledger device, and then link the MetaMask with Ledger[1] so when you're using dapps, you want to receive funds, etc. you would just do that from MetaMask, and when you want to send funds, you can also use MetaMask, but you would still need to authorize payments from the Ledger device.

358  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Importing seedphrase to Coinbase wallet on: September 30, 2023, 07:00:32 AM
Oh thanks. I really thought that even any non custodial dapps or apps needed internet to import seed phrase. But since you already mentioned it, maybe I'll try sometimes. Im not aware of this cause I thought internet is a must with processes like this. Whats other non custodial that works like that without even need net to work?

I would imagine that pretty much every wallet that claims to be non-custodial should allow that. I know that Exodus, Unstoppable, and MetaMask (as I mentioned earlier) do, and for Bitcoin-only wallets (they're all open source): Mycelium, Bluewallet, Sparrow, etc.
359  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: What is the purpose of the scope_v2.json file in the Trezor wallet? on: September 29, 2023, 02:11:11 PM
I found this[1] so it's probably nothing to be worried about since Trezor suite uses both Electron and Sentry for crash reporting as this[2] as well as the path in the picture you posted clearly shows.

360  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Question about Imported wallet and its address on: September 29, 2023, 01:33:34 PM
1. That's difficult to say since Trustwallet doesn't allow you to generate more than an address. It's possible that the balance might not even show. You will have to try that with a small amount and see for yourself.

2. Yes, you can choose which address to spend from using Electrum[1] or freeze the old address[2]
