You are welcome. Good luck getting your account back. It seems like I didn't sent the bitcoin signed message to theymos in correct format , or maybe theymos is lil busy with other stuff that he didn't read it yet. Waiting now, I hope it gets shorted out soon. If you're waiting a long time (few days) maybe you could post your PM here. I'm sure if there's a mistake in the format, someone could point it out to you.

two things.
1. I want to encourage everyone to lend/donate to these 2 individuals. I have pledged .5 BTC.
2. I think the lesson for everyone with cold storage is that it is better to create an offline transaction and then broadcast than it is to move signifigant funds from cold into hot storage.
Bro, I think giving a step by step guide on how to do that will help a lot of people in this community - me included. Apart from keeping my things encrypted I have not looked into cold storage simply because I don't have much BTC (really I don't have almost nothing compared to what I have spend on miners I should have just bought coins instead). But if I ever become BTC rich I would like to know about all the possible ways to protect my coins. I am sure that others do too.... There's a step-by-step guide for installing offline Armory and creating offline transactions on their webpage: https://bitcoinarmory.com/about/using-our-wallet/I have my offline copy installed on an SD card with linux, but you could just put it on an old laptop/netbook.

You need to sign a message using your bitcoin wallet, with an address which you have associated with your forum account in the past (in a PM).
Have you included a bitcoin address in a post or PM in the past?

Smart, something many of us have been advocating for a long time now.
There's a huge barrier to understanding bitcoin, in that, you need not possess a whole "1" bitcoin to actually have bitcoin.
By forcing people to bits it totally empowers bitcoin down to the 8th decimal.
I agree with you, the cost of purchasing 1 BTC deterred me for such a very long time, because of this I never did test/ or start too understand this technology and I regret it. When I read anything about Bitcoin or saw stuff about it in IRC, I always thought you could only purchase Coins in whole Units, this stopped me from buying any BTC because they were at 150+ dollars and that was a big investment for me too lose at the time. It was not until a friend got me to mine some Primecoin and a mess of other alts did I start to begin understanding the possibility of the Bitcoin protocol. This seems a common misconception. I was talking to a friend of my sister about buying some bitcoin and she said "I can't afford to spend £400 on a bitcoin!" I wonder how many have turned away from Bitcoin because of this.

What is the point of hacking an account? Is it only to earn through signature campaigns? Is it really worth it?
Well there is that, but also you could sell the account, or use it to scam people. Whenever there's money involved, it will be worth it to someone. Don't underestimate the power of greed.

In terms of Armory, offline is secure.
Secure when you're talking about hacking, yes. Secure overall? Not really. I'm not really sure what you mean. Would you mind elaborating?
|
|
|
That just doesn't make sense! You're using an OFFLINE computer with Armory and your Bitcoins were stolen? Could you elaborate on that? What security measures do you use? Who have an access to your offline computer?
He didn't say it's offline, he said it was "secure". In terms of Armory, offline is secure.

Ok, I can tell them my password was and see if it is similar to the Email Address There are ways, yet it is not a bank account, it's just an account of the Forum has no money, then have to take it all in proportion
You really should post this in the Meta sub-forum where the mods will see and answer it.

You'd be better to post this in the Meta subforum: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=24.0If your account has been hacked and email changed, the only way to get it back is if you can prove it's yours by signing a message from a wallet which you've associated with your account in a post or PM. Good luck. eid I do not understand you, there is not the forum moderators, who can make me go back and send me a private message so I can enter my account on the forum? If you've lost control of your account, I believe you have to prove it is actually yours before they will restore access to you. The way to prove this is to sign a message using your bitcoin wallet, from an address which you said was yours in the past (in a post or PM). (See link in Sonny's post above).

I always get this message too, but since all my drives work I just ignore it (probably not the best thing to do). Will be interesting to see what causes it.
Do your drives work?

just came back from the future (don't ask), managed to take a quick snap from bitcoinwisdom Thank you for that insight. That depiction of BTC prices looks like a very likely course forward; however, I have a couple of questions. First, I hope that your communication of the future does NOT change the course of history, and Second, it seems funny that a supposed current chart from future would be labelled "bitcoin the path ahead." Are you trying to suggest that I have not travelled through time? Allow me to respond comprehensively to your points/accusations below. 1. Hmmm. 2. I came back from 'Q3' 2019... So the 'path ahead' is just the final quarter? Admittedly this is not 'spelled out' on the chart. I trust this is sufficient, now... NO MORE QUESTIONS I am at a loss for words b/c my doubts have been addressed... especially the "Hmmm" part. The future seems so bright, now, that I better wear shades. What Super T failed to mention is that in 2019, due to inflation, a loaf of bread costs $10k. No I do not have a time machine. I do however have some tarot cards.

There are some real nutcases on this forum. And I think they're breeding.

One thing that I don't understand is how people buying Cex.io shares effects Ghash's total hashing power.
The way I'm thinking of it is that this is hashing power that's already 'working' as it were and people are just buying the rights to mining that's already being done anyway. Is this not correct?
I guess when they get more revenue, they buy more hardware.

Your first post was a request for a loan. What were you thinking?
You'd have to convince Vod he's mistaken to get rid of it. I can't imagine a way that wouldn't take months.
The negative feedback is deserved in this case. Not only for the several loan attempts but for repeatedly trying to scam someone into buying and shipping him a computer which he will pay for later, and then for laughably claiming he will share a bounty of treasure that is apparently buried on his friends land once he has the money to unearth it . Have we as a community really become so cynical that we just laugh when someone finds buried treasure on his friends private island? Shame on you people...
