Does bitcoinity get a special feed from mtgox or is it just the same as any of us could obtain?
btccharts.com appear to stay online when there's an outage like this as well. I've been wondering about this too. My guess is that either they have multiple redundant connections set up at once, and refresh the ones that go down, or Mt. Gox gives them a special server address/socket to connect to that is less likely to go down. You THINK they would have say.... 5 hardcore connections that go out to 5 servers that broadcast feeds out to everyone. this seems to be able to scale infinitely |

I know they are shady as fuck, but I can't see any difference to other exchanges either. When it comes to incompetence gox is on par, they are just bigger.
I don't think GOX are incompetent, just overloaded like crazy. How would you handle it if you got 15k more customers overnight? You don't have time to upgrade, you don't have time to train staff. they HAVE had time, that is my complaint. |

the btc-e price is so much lower than gox. why don't people arbitrage?
it is almost impossible to get cash in and out reliably. They are also scammers imo. I wont trust my currency to some russian guy. Thats all the info you get on him too. |
