342  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: ** STEAM GAMES FOR BITCOIN ** huge list, prices lower than retail ** NEW GAMES! on: December 28, 2012, 11:11:44 PM
A game I wanted was on holiday sale at steam, but I wanted to pay with bitcoin so I decided to check out this guy first in hope that the price wasn't that much higher than steam's sale price. Guess what? The price in bitcoin was even lower than steam's sale price, with a margin of like 20%! I'm definitely buying everything from steam through this guy in the future.

Do you plan on doing any IR lasers?

I don't believe it will be popular enough to justify putting on the website, but maybe I'm wrong, who knows.

Either way, as said before I can do custom builds on demand.
350  Economy / Digital goods / Selling Adobe Premiere Elements 10 on: November 25, 2012, 06:10:57 PM
I'm selling my Adobe Premiere Elements 10 license. This program costs around $70-100 depending on where you buy it, I'm selling it for 3 BTC or best offer.

If you want I can also send you the install DVD's, but I find it easier to just downloading it digitally and register using the license key.

I'll probably answer a bit faster if you use my email gitlem at lavabit.com rather than posting here.
351  Economy / Digital goods / Selling Dota 2 steam gifts, 0.2 BTC on: November 25, 2012, 06:04:52 PM
Selling Dota 2 Steam gifts, redeemable and resendable, you know how steam gifts work. I have 4 available. Selling for 0.2 each, that's like 90% off the retail price. I'll probably answer a bit faster if you email me at gitlem at lavabit.com rather than posting here.

Glad you all like your lasers! Smiley

Its a lot of god damn fun standing on my balcony at night pretending I have a light sabre that is 1km long. making pew pew noises and such.

Cheesy

Not trying to be a buzzkill, but be careful, don't hit any airplanes in the sky or anything.

Update: It shouldn't be more than a few days before most every laser is in stock (for the first time in a long time)
353  Economy / Goods / WTS Dota 2 steam gifts: 0.5 BTC on: November 21, 2012, 03:15:10 PM
So as far as can tell I have four pieces of giftable Dota 2 games in my steam inventory. If anyone wants them, I'll sell them for 0.5 BTC each.

355  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Bitcoin Friday, the fallout: Merchants how did we do ? on: November 14, 2012, 03:17:02 PM
Here's a bunch of quotes from merchants, including me: http://codinginmysleep.com/bitcoin-friday-results/

I had as many sales in one day as I usually have in a month, and I sold out very quickly too, meaning that I could've probably sold even more.

Why are your lasers so cheap compared to WickedLasers or other webshops?
Is this about the quality?

A lot of laser vendors are very overpriced, including Wickedlasers. Their markup is something like 500%, maybe even higher. And their quality are not superb either, they are actually pretty infamous in the laser community. Some expensive laser companies have good reasons to be expensive though, like top-notch quality and bleeding edge R&D.

There are many shops that sell lasers as cheap as me, maybe even cheaper, my prices are not really that low. I do have the advantage of not buying assembled lasers and reselling them, I build them from parts, which is cheaper. Therefore I mostly charge for labour, not materials. And this is a hobby for me, so I don't really mind working for a low hourly wage. Smiley Also, since this is a tiny hobby-based shop, I don't have to bother with taxes and paperwork which would bring the cost up quite a bit.

It's not really about the quality (at least in my opinion  Wink ), I've never has a customer complain about quality as of yet. And if the lasers do break or something, I offer a little warranty, and repair-service for cost of parts only, if the warranty has expired.

Great! I'll be ordering Smiley

Sound good!   Grin
358  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Humble Bundle (For android) #4 & bitcoin on: November 08, 2012, 08:30:52 PM
Here's a couple of mail replies I got from humble bundle and EFF respectively on the topic. These were sent this summer:

Hi Gitle,

Thanks for the email. We do receive a fair amount of requests to support Bitcoin as a payment method. Unfortunately at this time we aren’t planning on adding it as an option.

We apologize for any inconvenience,

Thank you for contacting the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF). I can't really speak to any conversations we may have had, since I am unaware of any of such conversations. We appreciate you sharing your thoughts with us. We have heard from many supporters who differ with our stance on this. I will reiterate something from Cindy's announcement, which is the main reason that we are doing what we're doing:

"While EFF is often the defender of people ensnared in legal issues arising from new technologies, we try very hard to keep EFF from becoming the actual subject of those fights or issues. Since there is no caselaw on this topic, and the legal implications are still very unclear, we worry that our acceptance of Bitcoins may move us into the possible subject role." We are careful to choose the way we fight our battles, and we fight best when we're not defendants.

All that said, we understand your take, and thank you for sharing it with us!

Best regards,

Very good news! Most lasers will be in stock for Bitcoin Friday, which begins in only 4 hours! All bitcoin orders will get 10% off with the code "BTCFRI".

First of all, this is amazing. Exactly what bitcoin needed!

The main menu on the left is very buggy, though. Might want to fix that before beta period ends. For example, submenus will start popping in and out in an endless loop sometimes, even when the mouse has left the menu area.
