baikalminer.com

I purchased from the legit site, contacted via skype with order number, they updated my cart on the website with btc payment address, I sent coins, then sent tx confirmation via email & skype. Waited for website to update cart as paid but this never happened and they wont respond to me via email or skype. Very odd

That is odd.  You're the only person I have heard say this.  They are not good at returning emails from what I have seen but when I did get the skype conversation going they did respond and update my order appropriately, both when I asked for a payment address and when I sent the confirmation screen shot.  Not even sure why they need the screen shot though, they can check it out themselves.

I did have one hiccup though, they put the wrong tracking number in my order on the website.  I contacted them in skype and told them and they responded with nothing but a smiley face emoji and then they logged off.  I sort of wondered if the person on skype didn't understand me, like maybe they didn't understand English very well or something.  The person I dealt with through skype to arrange the payments seemed to understand English well enough though so I don't know.  I imagine they are busy with a lot of interest in their hardware.

Did you by any chance try their after sales email address?  They had two different ones on the website, one for presales and one for after sales support.

1. What is ROI of masternode?
2. What is masternode earning calculation formula?
3. Is there masternode stats page?
4. How many masternodes exist?

We haven't moved to the x11 chain yet nov, so no masternodes. please wait until we announce the coming swap.
Masternodes get 45% of the block rewards.
How many MUE do I need to start a masternode ? When it is ready?
5000000 MUE is what is needed for a Masternode.

If my math is correct (which it may not be) that's like $220k at the current price.  But there isn't actually 5mil on the sale side of the order book on bittrex so you couldn't actually buy them anyway.  Is the idea that there are going to be almost no masternodes?  Fewer masternodes will mean only the rich get to vote (assuming masternodes will function that way and not just be very expensive pos miners in which case they will just function to make the rich even richer).
363  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [P2POOL] e-pool.net - P2Pool Nodes - 0.25% Fee on: April 19, 2017, 08:27:36 PM
Please read about p2pool payment calculation on official wiki pages

https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/P2Pool

You will understand the Payout logic

Thank you! I think I have a better picture.  So there are other p2pool nodes for MUE then I take it?  And what is the share time on the side chain for MUE?  Is it still 30 seconds?

So when e-pool page says "no shares yet" is it referring to a share with a high enough difficulty to be included in the p2pool side chain?
364  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [P2POOL] e-pool.net - P2Pool Nodes - 0.25% Fee on: April 19, 2017, 07:41:36 PM
I am mining MUE and for some reason my address keeps showing "no shares yet" and then I don't get paid for many blocks.  When I first started mining it was doing that but then it changed to an estimated payout and then I was paid for 10 or 15 blocks, but now it is back to "no shares yet" and no payouts for the last 10 blocks or so.  I can see the miner is submitting shares that are being accepted.  Can anyone explain this behavior?

EDIT: Actually I was paid for 30 blocks in a row before payouts stopped.  Now I count 12 blocks that the pool has found without paying me anything.

EDIT2: So I went 22 blocks without a payout.  I am referring to 22 blocks found by the pool for which I received nothing despite having been mining here the whole time.  I restarted my miner about 10 minutes ago and after some time my estimated changed from "no shares yet" to a number and I received another payout.

Right now on the pool are ~50GH mining power... be patient with the shares as are depending on the power you are mining

Thanks for responding but I don't understand why I would be paid for a bunch of pool blocks in a row and then suddenly not paid for a bunch of pool blocks in a row.  I am clear with the concept of being paid according to my contribution but my contribution was more than nothing for all the blocks where I was not paid.  At 50Gh my contribution would be about 0.6% of the pool.

I can't get mine to work correctly, would someone mind posting their config info here? I setup and tried to use suprnova which I used for other coins pointing to port 9995 and it just keeps saying miner loading with no devices running and no pools loading. I then tried to use port 80 as mentioned on suprnova with the same problem.

Try this:
URL: stratum+tcp://x11.usa.nicehash.com:3336
Algo: X11
User: <any BTC address>
Pass: x
extranonce: checked
Priority: 0

Honestly it sounds like something is wrong with the miner but the above stuff should at least show if you can connect to a pool.  Just put your BTC address for the user name.

So I purchased a SeaSonic 400W Fanless 80Plus Platinum PSU Version II to power this and I used the 12v PCie connector and I have an ATX bridge to enable to PSU seeing as I dont have a motherboard.

I get 1 second of power and then the PSU shuts down. I'm assuming its because I am only drawing on the 12v rail. Any way around it? The device functions when connected to the spare PCIe cable from my PC and has run over night fine.

Are you sure you jumpered the PSU correctly?  I've jumpered a ton of different PSU's with a wide range of wattages and never had one that had a problem so I don't think it has to do with only using the 12v.
368  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Baikal Mini Cube on: April 18, 2017, 09:26:07 PM
To set up static IP on your cube do the following.

SSH into the miner with user/pass: baikal/baikal

The command below opens a text editor for the file you want to modify:
sudo nano /etc/network/interfaces

Add some lines like what I have in the code box below (modified accordingly for your network).  I added these below the line that starts with "source-directory" and above the lines that all start with the # symbol.
Code:
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback
auto eth0
iface eth0 inet static
address 192.168.0.100
netmask 255.255.255.0
gateway 192.168.0.1
dns-nameservers 8.8.4.4 8.8.8.8

Hit ctrl+x to exit the editor

It will ask you if you want to save, hit y to save

It will ask you for the file name but it will default to the one you are already editing so just hit the enter key to confirm the default

At this point you can run "sudo nano /etc/network/interfaces" again to confirm the file now contains your changes if you want, but if you did everything correctly you don't need to.  Restart the miner with the power switch and it will come up on the new static IP.

BTW, it seems likely that with the appropriate changes made in that file you could also enable and configure the wifi and use the miner wirelessly.

Thanks for that.  These things are so new there probably hasn't been a ton of troubleshooting or experimentation with them yet.  Here is the user guide if anyone needs it: http://www.baikalminer.com/cn/down/CUBE.pdf

This link is in that PDF linked above but here is the link to the Pi image: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B1GBwN5-i39VRzNQS28tWlpsTVk

Going to try and set static IP on mine, will post results in this thread.

I did get mine about 30 minutes ago and it is up and running powered by PCIe from corsair PSU.  So yes, normal PSU PCIe 6 pin power works fine.
371  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Baikal cube on: April 18, 2017, 06:34:28 PM
Since they are out of stock you could just email them and ask them.  My guess is that you could probably do one per email address as long as you pretended the email addresses were different people, which means if they were actually different people then it should work to.  I doubt they do more than copy and paste for shipping info so they may not even notice if you shipped several to the same address unless they happened to process the orders right in a row.  On the other hand, when the next batch comes out they may raise the limit on how many you can buy and make this whole discussion less meaningful.

Supply power is the issue I think u put an atx in there it fries

Geez I hope not, that's exactly what I am planning to do.
373  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: BAIKAL - WHAT IS GOING ON? on: April 18, 2017, 03:20:26 PM
Well I thought mine was arriving today (maybe it is) but I didn't notice that the tracking number attached to my order has a package going somewhere on the other side of the country.  Now that it is out for delivery in Miami Florida I suddenly noticed.  So someone in Miami is apparently getting one today.  Too bad I'm more than a thousand miles away from there.

I don't have any MSI's but there are some threads around here expressing discontent with the quality of the MSI rx 4xx cards.  Just FYI.
375  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: [Where To Buy] Baikal X11 miner CUBE 300M 90W on: April 17, 2017, 05:33:39 PM
Be careful with people in this thread.  It looks very likely that there are scammers posting here.  Baikal only just released first batch of cubes and only sold one per customer so people who say they have multiple cubes for sale are probably lying.
376  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: BAIKAL - WHAT IS GOING ON? on: April 16, 2017, 05:02:09 PM
I have a Baikal 150mh/s I'll sell for $500, which is what I paid for it. It has the latest software and runs great. These are seriously good miners. Why would I sell you ask? One word.......Vega. PM if interested.

I'll throw in the power supply for free.

What is vega?
377  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Pinidea.io SCAM! Avoid! on: April 15, 2017, 03:39:27 PM
I've gotten everything I ever ordered from them but they were really slow about it.  But not a whole month slow, more like several weeks slow.  They also stopped responding to my emails about a month back, but I haven't gotten bouncebacks on the emails, just no response.  Prior to that they had been responding to my emails at least.  I had been asking about when they would have more miners and they kept saying they were coming but then they stopped responding and I figured they decided to mine for themselves since DASH went up so much.  Then everything on the website was switched to 'sold out' or 'out of stock'.

I would think that if they went full scammer mode they wouldn't prevent people from ordering on the website, can't scam people if you don't accept their payments.

Well I ordered only miners they seem to have in stock and those were the little ones. Do you have email you used to contact them? Thank you

Yeah I saw that the DU-1's were showing in stock until recently.  They seemed to switch to 'out of stock' at about the same time that the DR-3 got a big 'sold out' plastered on top of the thumbnail image.  Prior to that they had been telling me that the DR-3 would be back in stock.

support@pinidea.io

I hope you get your miners.  Actually I kind of suspect that you will eventually.

379  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Why wouldnt Bitmain keep the new Litecoin miners for themselves? on: April 14, 2017, 10:01:06 PM
I like the tin foil hat theory advanced in the other thread that they actually pushed the price of LTC up themselves just before they started offering these to the public.  The timing is very coincidental.  Also, they had announced the original L3 a long, long time ago but then basically cancelled them.  So if they followed through on making them back then and then used them for themselves instead of selling them, they will have been mining with them for quite a long time now.

Also, I have stated elsewhere that I believe part of the price support for BTC comes from the cost of miners.  People who invest a million dollars in a mine do not sell the coins mined for peanuts.  If there are millions invested in scrypt mining gear it will help to prop up the price of LTC and other scrypt coins.
380  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain Antminer S9 Review on: April 14, 2017, 12:22:42 PM
But a warning to anyone thinking about doing business with Bitmain, don’t!

I've been looking into setting up my own mining rig and I'm at the point of choosing a machine as well as which coin to focus on, but after reading your review and many other bad reviews, I think I'll stay clear of Bitmain. Do you or anyone else know of any other companies that sell bitcoin asics? That actually have a good reputation I mean...

Bitmain's quality and customer service is definitely crap and your doing yourself a favor by staying away from them. As far as other sellers, I was originally looking at www.bw.com, but they wanted a minimum of 1 PH order from memory. I'm not sure if they still sell actual machines, I think they are getting into cloud mining now.
