361  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA EURO 2020 Discussion Thread | Current Phase: Finals in June 2021! on: June 10, 2021, 12:20:57 PM
If I had to pick which are the the final four I'd say the followings (not giving a specific order, only saying which team will get to the finals):
France
Germany
Italy
Belgium

What will be your picks? Do you agree? I think this is probably gonna be one of the most exciting EURO championships we've seen in the last twenty years because the level of a few teams is so good.
362  Economy / Economics / Re: Ransomware hacks linked to Crypto are killing Bitcoin slowly !! on: June 10, 2021, 12:14:53 PM
Don't be too worried, banning bitcoin because of bitcoin it would be like banning fiat money because of drug dealers. Ransomware will not kill bitcoin, relax.
Average people approach to cyber security is basically meaningless and we can expect this phenomenon only to grow in the coming years.
Bitcoin-wise, again, don't worry too much. Nothing to see here.
363  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 1 Year From Now: 5-10 Countries Accepting BTC As A Legal Tender on: June 10, 2021, 12:11:26 PM
I don't know if it's because of this but now it looks the market is digesting the El Salvador related news quite well. This could be the starting of the bitcoin endgame where bitcoin really wins at the end.
This looks like the 99% finally and completely against the 1% that rules the world.
I don't know how this is going to unfold but this is such a great time to be alive.
364  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Slots 101: Basics, Strategies, and Discussion (with poll) on: June 10, 2021, 12:08:32 PM
This is a great thread I didn't know that there's a strategy on slots this discussion is really interesting. I thought you were just going to place bets on slots and test your luck with it. Personally I don't play slots since I was thinking that I won't be able to win on it with a small amount of money or credit I think it's for people with a lot of credit, the more credit the user has, the higher the chance of winning.

Yes it is somewhat true, the more money you have the longer the gameplay and the higher the chances. However strategies here is meant in a way to try things and not strategies to win on slots. For example a strategy can be to not play more than 100 spins with minimum bet on each slot if they don't give you the bonus round or free spins you go and try another slot.Something like that.
It's always around the very same problem: you don't know the outcomes and there never is a guarantee that, for example, after 99 bets on a minimum you would win at the next slot round.
The house edge is always there and there's no strategy that will beat it.

Thanks Bro

I feel so Salvadorian these days
366  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: YOUR FAVORITE GAMBLING? on: June 09, 2021, 01:25:32 PM
I also like Dice a lot, I used to play heavily when the bitcoin price was not this high and now I stopped playing because of that. I don't want to risk my bitcoin holdings anymore, it was fun for a while but times have changed. I might play every once in a while with some shitcoins but nothing big like in the past that I wagered over 1000BTC
367  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 1 Year From Now: 5-10 Countries Accepting BTC As A Legal Tender on: June 09, 2021, 12:59:41 PM
IMHO, this was inevitable right from the start and now it's the right time for the people of the world to start independently using bitcoin the right way to support the network. As I said somewhere else, Bitcoin's a political tool in our hand and we need to make sure to have all right lines of defense in place to stand against the many enemies that will come next.
So, please use your own node, be your own bank and provide liquidity on LN Smiley
Remember this is only the beginning.
368  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2021-06-05] El Salvador to make Bitcoin Legal Tender on: June 09, 2021, 12:53:20 PM
Hopefully for the poorer in El Salvador it will make a difference in some way.

In the grand scheme of things it will have little impact on Bitcoin.

I suspect that most El Salvadoreans who already use Bitcoin will continue, and many will continue not to.

There is a risk that by politicizing the issue, the US government will become interested, one way or another. Central America has been heavily manipulated by the US military/intelligence for 100+ years, and their European counterparts (i.e. partners in crime) have no doubt played a role or two also.

If the ES president hadn't made this announcement, the userbase could have grown there without so much fanfare. After all, Bitcoin was doing fine in El Salvador without anyone trying to make their face part of that success.

not a bad description of how politics works: persuade normal people that a picture of a face (with very white teeth) will make their life work out ok.
In fact I'm quite worried regarding the geopolitical implications of such an act since that could be considered like a sort of act of war by the US in case many other LATAM countries would start doing exactly the same. Everthing's politics no matter what and bitcoin's a (geo)political tool.
369  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 08, 2021, 10:37:43 AM
I hope the bitcoin price is not aligning with this thread's page count

370  Economy / Economics / Re: How to protect from inflation? on: June 08, 2021, 10:36:34 AM
Over the years, accumulating bitcoin at all price levels was the best thing I did to tackle inflation.
Now, the MSM are starting their narrative around inflation and trust me we need to expect troubles around the value of fiat money.
I believe there's gonna be a lot of turbulence at the end of the summer. Fasten your seat belt, and act accordingly: protect your wealth.
371  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Prayer and gambling. on: June 08, 2021, 10:33:34 AM
I remember that in the Latin American religious and magical tradition prayers to get lucky in gambling and to attract money fast was quite common, due to the fact that St. Expedito is the patron saint of fast actions: all those issues that require quick action.
So the patron saint of those who need quick solutions to their problems, this is the perfect saint to invoke when you need to improve your luck at the game using rituals to attract money and you decide to use a prayer to get lucky at the game.
People used to wear a medal or amulet of San Expedito around the neck or carry one in a mojo bag to keep the saint's powers close.

I know this sounds crazy but people believe in all sort of crazy things.

Happy to see that we've got so many poker lovers around here! Poker online got very popular during the pandemic but I believe poker tournaments will come back with a vengeance: we love to get the interaction with other players IRL and I can't believe in a world that is online-only. IMHO, this applies to anything anyway.
373  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA EURO 2020 Discussion Thread | Current Phase: Finals in June 2021! on: June 08, 2021, 10:23:07 AM
Here is the official calendar for Euro 2020:

by UEFA

The championship starts with an Italia - Turkey, on June 11th.
What do you think will be the result of the first European game?
I was noticing that booking.com has been able to sponsor Euro 2020, how is that even possible? They must have had massive losses due to the pandemic, where did they get the money from?
I can understand JustEat was able to make a killing for the very opposite reason.
Sign of the times.
374  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador has become the first country to make #Bitcoin legal tender! 🇸🇻 on: June 07, 2021, 11:44:12 AM
El Salvador the Savior!
Okay, let's pack our bags and get ready to go to El Salvador to create new bitcoin-based businesses and let's allow to prosper what could become the first bitcoin-friendly nation state.
I need an office in Miami (thanks Mayor Suarez!) and one in El Salvador!
Huge news, really huge!
You know, the day of the inauguration of your business will be the day of closure too after being visited by a gang.
Please spare me from this shit. This is the most stupid comment I've received during my bitcointalk life.
If you wanted to be funny, well you weren't.
I'll take my risks in case and I don't need nobody to patronize me on what could I do or not.
Jeez.

Is there a specific reason why all the games will played in the same stadium? Is the Allianz Arena the only german's venue that can make a covid-compliant game possible? I can't believe that Germany doesn't have similar great stadiums around.
Is this happening in other countries too? that's something I didn't follow.

yes, munich is the only venue in germany - whether the other european stadiums will allow some spectators depends of course on the government and how the pandemic numbers in the respective country develop
Ok I see still I don't get what difference that could really make. Is Munich covid free or what? I could maybe understand that avoiding players to move around the country much could reduce risks, but still I don't see the point. Maybe it's just me
376  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are MEME Coins A NEW Trend on: June 07, 2021, 11:35:20 AM
meme coin has indeed become a trend, but I don't like it at all, because in my opinion memecoin has no utility and can't last long term, unless later there is a meme coin that has good utility, I will support it
What could really be the utility of a memecoin? There's no utility in that, Doge itself already went too far in that. Doge has no utility, nobody is really using that shit and yet we fail to recognize the trap that there's behind these silly attempts to make a few smarter guys rich.
Stay away from those coins unless you're prepared to lose all your money.
377  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Prayer and gambling. on: June 07, 2021, 11:30:05 AM
Whenever I win or succeed in anything tho, I always say 'Thank you God' even though I didn't even pray for that specific thing and worked really hard to achieve it.  Cheesy
That is what we will say if we can achieve a good result. But we might say, "Oh, damn, it should not happen to me Grin

Praying can give a positive feeling to someone and that increase confidence. But gambling is at a grey side of our life, so when we pray, we ask GOD help to help us win the game. Sometimes, GOD will allow us to win, but the other time, we will lose. We can let people pray or do whatever they like to win the games.
That's a better approach, better always be thankful for basically anything that happens, also because anything can happen! Therefore, yes, keep praying if you really have to but don't forget that the outcomes of your bet are prayers-independent.
"Sometimes, GOD will allow us to win, but the other time, we will lose" that's delusional, sorry Wink
378  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Prayer and gambling. on: June 06, 2021, 07:09:29 AM
"No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you'll be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money."
Matthew's words are spot on for the sake of this thread. No prayers will help you winning a bet.
Don't mess with luck and chances and, most of all, leave any god out of desperate attempts to win some money.
379  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are MEME Coins A NEW Trend on: June 06, 2021, 07:04:33 AM
With the rise of Doge Coin, there have been countless MEME coins launch on different platform.
What are you thoughts on meme coins? Are they bad for the industry? Or Are they a gateway drug for newbies to enter the game?
they are nothing like shitcoins what i mean is they are good only at the moment where they gaining money from investors but soon when they see it that they are not in a good situation like what happened now in the market they will always playing dead and doing nothing ..  See what happen to dogecoin i'm pretty sure this kind of meme will not long last especially those meme emerges after doge in my own opinion.. So i suggest never expect it can guarantee after all your efforts , its always too good to be true mate.
I like the definition of Memecoin and Shitcoin that was given here: "gateway drug for newbies to enter the game".
Shitcoins are shitcoins by definitions and memecoins are even worse than that. Please understand what's good can be done with those tokens and 99,9% nothing good can be done with them as they work only as speculation means.
Just play with it if you want to try your luck and earn a quick buck but be extremely careful.
380  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA EURO 2020 Discussion Thread | Current Phase: Finals in June 2021! on: June 06, 2021, 07:01:01 AM
its now a done deal and has also been officially announced by the government that all 4 games can be played in munich's allianz arena in front of a maximum of 14000 spectators each
these are then the following games:
germany - france
germany - portugal
germany - hungary
and a quarterfinal match

Is there a specific reason why all the games will played in the same stadium? Is the Allianz Arena the only german's venue that can make a covid-compliant game possible? I can't believe that Germany doesn't have similar great stadiums around.
Is this happening in other countries too? that's something I didn't follow.
