WOW, 0.35 USD/kWh??? That is very very expensive. Hey, fellow crypto geeks! Would like your opinions:
Us Australians face high electricity costs, so solo mining became untenable for us two years ago. Gridcoin (although still small-cap) has entirely satisfactory price-charts.
So, factoring in the setting up, and general wear and tear on the equipment involved, could you, over time, still break even mining Grid?

Actually I am somewhere in the range of break-even mining with my desktop in Germany, ~0.35 USD/kWh. But it is still a bit complex to do so because we have a limit on what one wallet and BOINC ID can generate. Which is why I have 6 of them on one desktop The limit will be gone when the next mandatory comes out! The new payment feature is called Research Age and is currently tested in our testnet. Of course we all hope the price will rise (which is happening slowly) so mining becomes feasable BUT you have to count in that equation that mining Gridcoin means researching so its meaningful, even if the price for 1 GRC was 0 USD.

What kind of FIAT deposit options does ALCUREX offer? wire?

What exactly are you referring to? Wait GRC? Isn't that the same as the company that's promoting on facebook where you have to buy in to mine their coin and afterwards you'll be ahead of everyone when it eventually launches?

Will there be a pool anytime soon?

I am not too sure about the options market, there are many regulatory issues that may arise out of that. I think Rob put that one aside for now. The Gridcoin price is rising! I like that. About 40% in the last few weeks. But there is more to come, especially when Research Age is being implemented so the core is finalized. Then we have no limits to a number of researchers(=miners) and a fully operational and decentralized payment system, the Neural Network. And then Rob will have the time to implement all of his crazy-genious ideas of Gridcoin Finance, the options market within the client, perfecting voting and and and...

Man, I would love to play some card games with my GRC! Do you have any plans to offer other games?? Blackjack, poker, other casino games??
We have. We're currently preparing our next game to be added. More updates will come soon is that hard to get the jackpot? because i see the last jackpot is 07/25/2015 and its almost 1 month..almost as hard as DD has..hahah
Since the last jackpot, there have been 350 rolls of 77.777 or 7.777, so we have an EV of 3(.5) Jackpot hits. Yet, there hasn't been a single one. We're all waiting for it, gotta happen one day Lutpin

I don't think features alone are going to get GRC into the top10 cryptos. We need uses for the currency, there is not much you can do right now with your grc. Our volume is also really low on the exchanges, which is not a good sign. I'm guilty of buying some myself. LOL. GRC is currently very very undervalued. I mean, seriously. Look at the tech we have in the coin. It's definitely worth a lot more than what it is now. And the new features we are testing in testnet, would bring even more value to GRC. And Rob's new idea blew my mind. In coin options exchange. To quote Rob, I think having the ability in the coin to buy a Put would be pretty huge; and if we did this in a decentralized way, even bigger. Agree with you.. Gridcoin is extremly undervalued especially when seeing the tech. There are currently higher market cap coins do not deserve that position. I'm in the Gridcoin project now almost 2 years and non exchange prices were at that time about 900-1000 satoshi if i transfer it to the current coin supply. However we had those prices even with much less features and tech and community so everyone can imagine what Gridcoin should be actually worth now with existing real world adoption, tech and outstanding community. 2000 - 3000 satoshi is the price investors should focus and expect in the long term. To be honest i haven't seen a better, real world adopted coin out there apart from Bitcoin itself. Sounds like i am promoting something, however i just mention pure facts! --justmy2cents-- cheers

The low volume is due to the fact that there are not many places to spend GRC, so most people just hoard it. Other than 1 gambling site (crypto-games), there isn't much to do with your newly minted grc. That is what we need to work on! I would say that is where the majority of the foundation funds should be spent on. Quez,
Something seems to be brewing. I can't really put a finger to it but past weeks have seen some big volume at CCEX and Trex.
GRC are changing hands, that's for certain...
I know. I just wonder who sold nearly 30 BTC of GRC in this small timeframe when we had >30 BTC volume. But for 600 Satoshis I would have sold a bit, too Probably one big investor bought for the 600 sats. I'm guilty of buying some myself. LOL. GRC is currently very very undervalued. I mean, seriously. Look at the tech we have in the coin. It's definitely worth a lot more than what it is now. And the new features we are testing in testnet, would bring even more value to GRC. There are people selling bitcointalk accounts on this forum, so I am not sure how accurate/representative this voting really is. I think each coin should be evaluated on how usefulness/uniqueness it really is, rather than voting, which is very easily rigged.
Something to keep in mind.

voted too, what exactly is this anyway? I'd vote if I could but for some reason I can't.

Good job on the text file, but I think an infographic will be a lot more effective for this.

I just did, btw, does anyone know why GRC is frozen on Poloniex?

I think we should inform everyone else in the Cryptocointalk thread about this thread and urge them to post regularly. Rob needs to start posting here again. In Testnet we are currently testing a feature called Research Age. This allows EVERYONE to get paid eventually for his/her research activity. Unlike Bitcoin, you do not need a high sophisticated mining hardware or a high balance in other POS currencies to stake your block.
It will be only a matter of time that you get your fair share of what you have mined (= researched in BOINC).
Dont get me wrong, right now you will also be fully paid on your research activity. But with many many more researchers/miners in the future we will need the Research Age feature because of the limited block number per day.
We all need to start posting here again. LOL. But it's hard to do when we're so active on the other. I mean, 13.5k post over there just one a single thread! Guess we have to work harder! Gridcoin is currently UNDER PROMOTED and we need to get the word out!
