This isn't your average shit litecoin clone. The pool is the first of it's kind it interfaced with the wallet because boinc data needs to be sent over and ssl connection.

100+ pages and there's only 1 mining pool available?  I'm trying to find out information on if this coin is worth mining and how many coins i'd get per day per 1 mh/s?
1325  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Gridcoin (GRC) - first coin utilizing BOINC - Official Thread on: March 07, 2014, 01:16:26 AM
Beacon is sent once every 72h.
Did you put in your grc address as the name on the Project Account information?

GPU minable grc and CPU minable grc are completely seperate distribution methods, so the above suggestion would only affect the gpu miners - it's effectively just taxing the gpu miners more.

Even with scrypt sleep, the 1000boinc point average can be acquired almost instantly with gpu miners. The difficulty should be raised to reflect the work load that gpu farms can handle.

On another note - how does cpu mining work? Is it that there are 75,000grc/day being distributed and it's evenly distributed between hosts according to how much boinc points they submit, to a max of 150grc/day per host?

Also, there should be options to both send a cpu mining beacon and to verify cpu mining is operational, because at the moment you've gotta wait 3 days before you know whether or not you've configured gridcoin correctly.

Do you need to set poolmining up for cpumining, or just cpumining=true in gridcoin.conf file?

Hi,

1. The utilization is calculated 50% from what your current CPU utilization is and 50% from your RACs.
2. We basically don't need to modify the 1000 RACs average that you stated because scrypt-sleep takes care of that. If you have a 100% utilization and your scrypt sleep is 50% then your total reward goes down, because you only hash 50% of the time. However, if you do have ~100k RACs, your scrypt sleep is 100% and even though you have the same 100% utilization as the other user, your reward is going to be a lot more because you hash all the time. The more RACs people have, the more RACs will people need to increase their scrypt sleep so they can hash longer and earn more rewards.
3. CPU mining - 576 blocks a day * 150GRC per block = 86400. That is the CPU mining coin cap. One host can earn a maximum of 150GRC/day and users compete with their RACs for the max reward. The more RACs you have, the more GRC you will earn a day up to a maximum of 150GRC/day per host.
4. Once you setup CPU mining and start your wallet, it checks when and if your beacons were sent and if not it sends them. So if you've never mined you don't need to wait 3 days, it sends them ~immediately...and then again after 3 days.
5. Just cpumining=true   poolmining is something different.

Here's a CPU mining tutorial.
https://cryptocointalk.com/topic/1922-cpu-mining-tutorialtopic/

Andrew.

Hey,

I double checked against that tutorial you linked, and cpu mining still isn't working.

I've got grc in my balances, i've got the project list set up correctly, changed recieving to default, running boinc and have full boinc utilisation.

I'm not listed in the cpuminerlist output, and none of my computers have been sending beacons at all over the last few days. Is anyone experiencing the same issues?

We know you are, I don't know what SOB would start such a BS rumor.

If anyone has for some reason, heard a rumor that I'm not 100% committed to Gridcoin, that's simply not true.

Its already consumed my life, and I am still 100% committed to making it the best cryptocurrency.

Nothing has changed.

+11111 Darkcoin should be on btc38.com

Update 2014.03.07

I have learned about BlackCoin and DarkCoin. But it seems that both of them mining a bit too fast. I am a bit afraid on this.

Could you mean by this?  Darkcoin is one of the few coins with genuine innovation, here is an explanation for how it works:

http://razorsforex.blogspot.co.uk/2014/02/darkcoin-anonymous-cryptocurrency.html

It deserves a place on BTC38 not only because it is popular and high volume trade (see it's high trade volume on cryptsy) but also because there is real development going on there.  There's no problem with the Darkcoin mining rate.  It has a solid supporter base and has kept a relatively stable price compared to many other coins.

Also an announcement about Darkcoin beta testing phrase made it to the 'hot' section in r/bitcoin:
http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/1zde2w/darksend_beta_is_live_now_drk_darkcoin_the_worlds/

This demonstrates a high level of acceptance of darkcoin's usefulness by bitcoiners, indicating it is a respectable coin and worth adding.  I'm sure Darkcoin will be one of the highest volume coins traded on btc38.

Smiley

Edit:
Also Darkcoin is DRK, could you please correct this in the poll.

You don't find it odd that some new crypto comes out of nowhere and all the sudden there is all this media coverage? All that shit is bought and paid for to give an appearance of going viral while the big boys dump.

1334  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: PRE [ANN] CureCoin development continues.... on: March 06, 2014, 02:09:10 PM
In the early days of Gridcoin that may have been possible, but that is impossible today. The Gridcoin client has been modified heavily with many security measures like the boinc hash and 50% of the reward come from average daily credits so it is not possible to cheat any longer. So your information is very outdated.

Where are these Gridcoin cheaters?? Stop spreading mis-information!!

The i hope they could create a user friendly software for mining and folding.

I believe they are working on or have created an optional lightweight version of the F@H client.  It is supposed to be much easier to setup, stop, start, etc.  So I think they are putting a lot of effort into making sure anyone can do this without beating their heads against a wall trying to get things worked out.

I've finally got all my hardware online so I am ready whenever they are!

Thank would be great then. It took me a long time to figure out the gridcoin. Their wallet does not link easily.

If what your saying is true then Curecoin wins over Gridcoin.

There are lots of cheater in the past of Gridcoin, mining without actually doing Boinc work. The Curecoin should be wary of that.

I am not spreading mis-information. I could be inaccurate. Why don't you research it on your own? I doubt cuz you are a big fan of GRC. If you mine with boinc you get 150 GRC reward, Without BOINC you get 1 reward per block i think.. not so sure... Some people have mined with without running BOINC and get 150 GRC. Maybe they patched it already.

If you don't think that is cheating then i guess call it great miners then. It does not matter, the thing is that it happened.

1338  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: RBC closed my commercial bank account for having Bitcoin related activities. on: March 05, 2014, 07:38:02 PM
I will keep saying this until I am blue in the face. Fiat and Bitcoin will not mix, the banks will never allow it because it will make them obsolete. What part of that do people not understand? Bitcoin was designed to replace the fiat system and here we have people trying to integrate the two, LOL. It will not happen!!!! Make no mistake, this will be an all out war between the banking system and Bitcoin.
