3761  Other / Archival / Re: Current list of exchanges without KYC on: September 23, 2022, 03:13:13 PM
No, on FTX without KYC, even a crypto address for a deposit cannot be created.
Yes you can.
You can't do anything on their US version website, but .com version still works fine, except for futures options that can't be used.
They are counting this as Level 1 verification and you can withdraw 2000 USD per day, even if you didn't pass any real verification.
For Level 1 you can't use fiat deposits and withdrawals, but I think it's the same for all other exchanges.
Each time you log in there would be asked a question to add phone number, but you don't have to do it.

https://help.ftx.com/hc/en-us/articles/360027668192-Individual-Account-KYC

This exchange has always been KYC oriented and requires a minimum of $10,000 to open an account.
I never heard of such thing that you need $10k to open account, and it's simply not true.
Sure they can ask for KYC anytime, but that is not the point.
Bitfinex = Tether = USDT

The most terrible exchange, which presents almost a continuous mountain of garbage, with the exception of some old cryptocurrencies (DOGE, ETH, LTC). There are no stablecoins or modern cryptocurrencies.
There is Bitcoin, monero and it works.
Please don't tell me that crap like MEXC or Ascendex you listed are ''good'' exchanges.  Cheesy
This is not the topic with review about exchanges, just about ones that don't have mandatory kyc.
I don't recommend any exchanges I listed before, except Bisq and I clearly said that.

What about #WeAreAllHodlonaut or https://www.defendingbtc.com/ edition? Wink
Pretty important especially right now; I'd argue much more important (and in the future, historic) than some of the people above whose faces I've never seen and names never heard before.
Sure why not, but time is limited for creating cards like this and he already collected over 70 BTC and $74k for his defense fund.
If I would create a card this would be special card design dedicated for this trial, depicting fight between Hodlonaut and CSW Faketoshi, like good vs evil, or cat vs rat .
Funny enough it's possible that even Craig's cult members could buy this card and indirectly support the cause Cheesy

3763  Economy / Reputation / Re: jerry0 case on: September 23, 2022, 02:20:15 PM
Member jerry0 is back again with another round of his famous rinse & repeat topic questions.
I am asking all members @NeuroticFish @Charles-Tim @jackg and all others to please stop answering to his questions and feeding this spammer.
Look at his post history with feedback he received and you will understand why I am saying this.
I obviously can't and won't stop anyone to play this circus game with him for the sake of writing few more posts in signature campaigns, but this is getting really silly.
3764  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Ask about The Best Wallets for Bitcoin ? on: September 23, 2022, 02:07:51 PM
Which Bitcoin wallet is the best?
You need Bitcoin wallet for what device and for what purpose?
For desktop computers one of the best options is Electrum wallet, it's open source, easy to use, and you can even connect it with hardware wallets like Trezor, ledger, etc.
If you want to be extra secure than you can use this wallets to create cold storage for storing larger amount of coins.
For smaller amount of money you can use mobile wallets on smartphones, but this should be used only as pocket money.
There isn't one universal solution for everyone and you can even combine several wallets depending on situation you are in.

Before using any wallet you can check out walletscrutiny website and see if they are reproducible or not:
https://walletscrutiny.com/

or alternative website is bitcoinbinary.:

3765  Other / Archival / Re: Current list of exchanges without KYC on: September 23, 2022, 01:49:12 PM
OP I think there are few more exchanges that can work without mandatory KYC verification, but there is always a risk they could ask for your documents anytime.
Best option is to using decentralized exchanges like Bisq, or other p2p exchanges, but I will name few more centralized exchanges that are not in your list.

FTX.com - Reliable exchange that can be used without KYC, but if I remember correctly limit was only $2,000.
Mandala - This exchange is using Binance Cloud and I think limit was 2 BTC.
Bitfinex - Well known exchange that can be used without KYC but I can't remember limits.
TradeOgre - Smaller exchange but without KYC.

There are few other small exchanges like Bilaxy, FMFW, BTSE, Nominex, Digifinex, but they are higher risk.
Other exchanges can be found on kycnot.me website:

3766  Other / Meta / Re: How to change password if I have forgotten it? on: September 23, 2022, 01:27:19 PM
What is a safe way to reset my current password if I have forgotten it? I am still able to get in from an old computer where I had stored my password in the browser. I seem to recall that trying to reset via email may cause problems and could in fact lock me out.
I changed my profile password several times and I never faced any problems.
Best way to do this is from profile Account Related Settings, you just enter new strong unique password, verify it, and enter old password on the bottom, to change your account.
It's not a bad idea to use separate email address dedicated only for bitcointalk forum.
3767  Other / Meta / Re: [CHARTS] Brief monthly overview of the local boards activity on: September 23, 2022, 10:12:24 AM
...
Great work on this report as usual Rikafip.
I know everyone else is speaking English language so there is no need for special local boards, but I always wondered what the stats would look for United States, United Kingdom and Australia.
My assumption is that most active users are coming from US, but someone could be living in Asia or Europe and still speak US English.

Our Croatian local board is experiencing a small drop in activity compared to last month, but that was to be expected as summer is always a time of reduced activity on the forum. Hopefully, we will get back on track and the activity will increase after the summer break.
There are few new members showing up recently but they are still not active enough to make significant changes with stats.
Our local king Slacko needs to be urgently reactivated or even Greeks, Polish and other boards are going to run over us.
Maybe he is still spending his royal bitcoin wealth in some seaside resort or island, but this is red alert and I am getting worried for him. Smiley

3768  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trezor Suite now supports coin control on: September 22, 2022, 06:52:27 PM
I saw this update while it was pre-release, and I think that Coin Control in Trezor Suite is done much better than same thing in ledger hardware wallet app.
You can now manually select UTXOs and I see they are working on more stuff for implementation in their github roadmap, but they need to update it.
I still prefer using Electrum wallet, but for people that want to use few more altcoins Trezor Suite is perfect solution:

3769  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: The EU is on the verge of creating a new AML regulator that will oversee crypto on: September 22, 2022, 02:45:00 PM
I don't see any harm here since this does not ban crypto transactions, only regulates the EU crypto companies to prevent scams and stuff.
Oh sure, now they care so much about the people and they want to protect us from scam  Cheesy
EU is on sure path of self-destruction in every possible way, so I can understand why they are going full power with insane rules and regulations.
I honestly can't keep track with all the changes but I don't see anything good for people regarding this changes, like they care so much about our wellbeing and safety, yeah right tell me about it.
3770  Other / Meta / Re: [Script] BitcoinTalk User Notes on: September 22, 2022, 02:31:00 PM
One more good use case for BitcoinTalk User Notes script is tagging forum alt accounts.
Here is just a few of my recent examples of using this script for one DT abuser coward who is hiding behind his real account.
It's obviously the same person behind all this accounts and someone needs to stop this abuser witch hunting circus show.

3771  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Does it make sense to use extra custom words to electrum seed? on: September 22, 2022, 02:10:43 PM
If you agree, how many extra custom words should you add to your seed?
I wouldn't use any custom words to replace standard electrum words.
There is a good reason why someone made system like this, as a balance of security and usability, so making more complications and inventing wheel again is not needed and can result is losing of funds.
However, it's not a bad idea to use one more passphrases, for example that would be a good idea if you have two kids and you want them to have your Bitcoin inheritance.
Give them each same seed words, and each of them should have a different passphrase, so they can split inheritance.
3772  Other / Meta / Re: A blog for BitcoinTalk on: September 22, 2022, 01:31:51 PM
Here is my question - Who would be interested in reading a weekly or biweekly blog (mini-series) about what goes on here on the forum?
I wouldn't be interested to read blog that is released weekly, and I doubt there would be much to write about in this short amount of time.
That doesn't mean that I am totally against the Blog idea, but it needs to be carefully planned and maybe written once per month.
I can't follow all discussions in forum, so I would be interesting to check the forum news and see if I missed something important.
btw anyone knows what is happening with Cyrus TheBitcoinTalkShow project and is next episode coming out?

That'd be cool, but is there really an advantage of creating a separate blog, versus just creating a typical topic(probably on the Meta section)?
Or we could combine both, adding top news release in forum top bar with clicks directing to separate bitcointalk.org/blog page.
Difference is that you can't write anything on blog page, it's just informative post with stats and source links in forum.
3773  Other / Meta / Re: BSV subforum on: September 22, 2022, 01:22:36 PM
Would people be supportive of creating a sub-forum for investigating/exposing Craig Wright and his BSV scam for the protection of Bitcoin and Bitcoiners?
Sure why not, but don't we already have few topics in Scam Accusations section that are dedicated to BSV scam?
If we are going to create special sub-forum for CSW scam, than we should think about creating few other sub-forums people demanded several times.

Most of the people doing this work have been coordinating on twitter and reddit,  but BSV scammers have been flooding the platforms with false reports and have successfully knocked out more than a couple account thanks to idiotic and/or artificially-idiotic (AI) report processing. There is also a real risk that the scammers simply buy off the platforms (e.g. in the case of reddit) or their staff (e.g. in the case of twitter) to achieve their end.
They have few cult supporters even in bitcointalk forum and I am sure they will flood whatever topics in forum if CSW cult leader command them.
Creating new forum accounts is easy and they can always reactivate bunch of old accounts for attacks.

We could obviously setup a separate forum but there is a lot of work that goes into maintaining something like that which is already done by Bitcointalk.
Making new forum for this is a waste of time in my opinion.
3774  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: AirGap wallet- Self custody made simple and secure - Protect your crypto offline on: September 21, 2022, 08:32:10 PM
AirGap Vault is interoperable with these wallets
I am not so much interested in metamask, but is Sparrow wallet, Blue wallet and Specter wallet only supported Bitcoin wallets, and there is no support for Electrum?
This is one of the most popular bitcoin wallets and there is both desktop and mobile version available.

I have one old-new smartphone and I was thinking of testing it with AirGap.
My question is, do I have to disable all internet connection, wifi, remove sim cards, when using this mobile with AirGap wallet?
I didn't saw any explanation about this in step by step guide.

PS
I would suggest adding Vault app to open source android stores like Fdroid or IzzyOnDroid.
3775  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: What's the best VPS for a crypto app? on: September 21, 2022, 08:25:00 PM
After compare a lot of VPS from my point of view AWS is the best option, but when we read their TOS looks like they don't like at all the Crypto applications.
You should definitely avoid using Hetzner that publicly said they will terminate every activity related with cryptocurrencies.
I have developer friend who used various VPS servers for crypto related stuff and he didn't have any problem with Vultr and Contabo, but I didn't ask him recently if there was some changes.
It's best to read tos page before signing any contracts and talk with their support fo clarification, but i would check lowendbox.com website for good deals.
3776  Economy / Reputation / Re: Royse777 is Casino Critique on: September 21, 2022, 07:44:51 PM
Stop lying.  You have me on ignore because I've criticized your abuse of the trust system.  It's all documented in black and white, including your retaliatory exclusion of me in your trust list.  So now you've proven that not only are you thin-skinned, but also dishonest about it.  Not a good look for a DT member, if you ask me.
Surprise surprise... trollybad did the same thing with me just because I criticized him, as if I care... but this just proves he is abusing his Default Troll membership.
I wouldn't be surprised if he was the one who created or initiated bunch of this newbie alt accounts and accusation topics about Casino Critique.
This is his loooong list, it can't even fit one post:

3777  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Looking for payment provider on: September 21, 2022, 07:38:33 PM
We want to consult with you about payment systems. The point is that we want to regularly add new coins, but we don't want to raise a node for each of them. We already use one company that allows us to process payments, but they have limitations (for example, you need to get a new address for each deposit, and we cannot assign a permanent address to a user). We would be grateful if you could point us to a reliable service provider that does not have the limitations mentioned above, works quickly and efficiently, and does not charge high commissions for their services. Perhaps you are a representative of such a company or you have a different solution to our problem. Write to us, we will be glad to any advice and suggestions!
What coins do you want to support, other than Bitcoin?
I can only vouch for open source payment processor BTCPay Server and Cypherpunkpay that are mostly Bitcoin and LN based,
but recently one forum member VSYS Host made a topic about new open-source payment processor called SHKeeper.
I know they are supporting some altcoins but I am not sure about all the details with addresses and I didn't try this service myself.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5413455.0

You could probably use some third party custodial service that supports more coins, but I am not going to give any suggestions about that.

3778  Economy / Exchanges / Re: No KYC Debit card 2022? on: September 21, 2022, 07:25:18 PM
No KYC Debit card 2022?
with a low limit(200€ - 1000€\m)
There was CoinDebit card and it worked fine during beta testing for lower amounts of money, but they temporarily shut down their service and issued refund to their customers, while they transition to the new card provider.
There was virtual card and physical card that was available only for United States.
Keep an eye on their website and twitter acocunt @Coin_debit for new announcements.
https://www.coindebit.io/announcement

Watch out for scams that use similar cards schemes to steal money from people, and don't expect to see many non-kyc cards in 2022.
3779  Economy / Reputation / Re: Royse777 is Casino Critique on: September 21, 2022, 07:00:49 PM
There is also a "chips sold" indicator on their website that goes up to 9,499.
I think that few hundred chips should be given for free to various forum members.
This chips are not ''altcoin'' because they are not on any blockchain I think, and I could hardly call this a bribe.

Try again: PRIVACY. Until I see a reason not to, I respect people's privacy.
You of all people should appreciate that, given that you're hiding behind an alt account. Feel free to PM me who's alt you are, and I'll respect your privacy too.
Why don't you simply ''admit'' that you received 1 million dollars in Bitcoin to keep the secret of original Casino Critique owner, and everyone else did the same  Cheesy
Owner must be a very rich man when he could bribe many DT members with so much money...
Real question is who is the real notwhatyouthink, but then you search who had the biggest argument with Royse and you will probably find him easily, he is still obsessed with him.

notwhatyouthink is dead.
long live the notwhatyouthink.
3780  Other / Meta / Re: Archival section moderation policy on: September 21, 2022, 06:46:29 PM
I tend to clean the Archival section once in a while.
So there is no backup of any kind for topics deleted and cleaned from Archival?
I noticed a lot of topics with Delete title and simple dots (.) topics that are not deleted for years and they stay in Archival.
If I report some topics like that will they be deleted/purged from Archival or not?

Here are few recent examples I found not deleted:
