AH!!!! Wish I had know about this yesterday!  I just bid on two Block Erupter Blades that need a little repair work.  http://www.ebay.com/itm/191058088235 Someone go outbid me please!
you can retract your bid you know.

Yay - it means on 30.06.2014 they route hashing power of all 4000 Neptunes to their paid customers Wink
Which they no doubt now see as a drop in the ocean of what hashing power they will have online by then...

... my interpretation of all this is not entirely negative. I still think they have good intentions. Quick shot on most possible scenario:

- Neptunes late (they already know that right now)
- Compensation starting with free 3Th starting April/ May/ June for batch 1/2/3
- Finally delivered Neptunes have to compete with additional 10Ph from their farm... which sucks bigtime

To be honest, 3TH for free for batch 1 customers in April sounds very attractive to me. Hick-Hack on Jupiter Sales/ Moduls on the other side sucks for the guys who planned to buy some....

Don't think April.

They said Q1/Q2. End of Q2 is june. You'll get your hash at 1st of july....
Exactly. They've had to think long and hard how to make them delivering Neptune late sound good to people.

Offering people 3TH starting from the date they originally promised to deliver Neptune is, err, quite an amazing "bonus"  Grin

They will already be hashing with those machines before that date, meaning the customer appreciation batch will be just about as worthless as the batch 2(3), as the bitcoin difficulty will have already risen to account for this hashrate.
at least it won't be late?Huh?

I had big trust.

Now I lost all...

It's about pure centralization. Worst than Ghash....

This whole thing fucked up.

(That's my first impression)
elgabo, have you seen GHASH.IO, some russian dudes or something with over 1/3rd of the network,

then there DISCUS FISH or whatever, they are coming up fast.

BTCGUILD of course....

and who knows who else....so I wouldn't worry too much about centralization.

Another positive might be Energy savings or Going Green/er??.....being in some frozen land saves tons on heating....and maybe thermal energy is way cheaper, not sure...but sure is greener.

I also plan to keep mining, MAYBE the other miner vendors will have to drop prices substantially in order to compete, and lets more of the masses  into BITCOIN and CRYPTO currency...

I wonder if Satoshi/s even foresaw such vast amounts of alt coins, and the massive response to all of them...

GO BITCOIN, GO LITECOIN, PEERCOIN, DOGECOIN, NAMECOIN and all others....

btw Group Buy for USB sticks to mine LITECOIN/DOGECOIN

Free hashing for what exactly speed??

at this point, I am surmising from their statement that if you order a neptune/s, at 3TH each, then you are now definitely guaranteed an 11% increase in hashing power.

Yes, he said 11% power consumption reduction, but then he said they stuffed 11% more hashing power back in....ok ok not engineering speak and it probably isnt a perfect trade either...but I am guessing NEPTUNES now coming in at around 3.3TH/s, so that is what they most likely will provide SO FAR for each Neptune. I think.

What is the most plausible theory for more than two months of silence re Neptune despite apparent discontent of customers?
Here is my speculation on possibilities (from the most probable #1 to almost impossible #5):
1. They are experiencing significant difficulties with Neptune design and want to overcome those problems before updating.
2. They are positioning to change their business model from selling individual units to the "fair shake" cloudhashing model, where customers will be buying slots in the icelandic super-mine managed by KnC. Everyone who ordered Neptune would be offered a slot with a modest increase in hashing power (to 3.5-4TH), but will have to pay extra for "hosting".
3. They were bought by someone or majority bought by a third party (perhaps even by a government-controlled entity).
4. They were bought/invested into by 21e6 (or merged with 21e6). Alternatively, they were supplying Jupiters to a single unknown party (cloudhashing?).
5. They are resting on their prior success and "taking it easy".

1. No
2. Perhaps
3. No
4. No
5. No

It may not be outside the realm of possibilities that they have other projects they are working on?
JOE hit nail on the head.

WOW
MONEY WELL SPENT IF YOU BOUGHT KNC.....

now that is a miner protection plan.

everyone else.....EAT IT!!

"Over the next few months we are bringing online enough hashing power to make sure that any.."

...other miners will make .0000000001btc per week

I guess if you didn't believe in KNC from the beginning and continue to believe in them after the slightly late but nonetheless groundbreaking delivery, then you didn't order a Neptune/s, and that might turn to be a costly mistake.

I have to scratch the sleep out of my eyes and re-read the statement, but I swear I read FREE HASHING POWER / FREE HOSTING.....

OR AM DREAMING??

Undecided

Be aware that you cannot change your shipping address.
KnCMiner doesn't allow to change it, nor do they allow pick-up for Neptunes.

Quote
(...)
Unfortunately we are not offering local pickup option for the Neptune orders.
All orders will be shipped with UPS.
(...)

In case you want to host your Neptunes somewhere else than your original shipping address, you have to resolve this on your own with UPS.
And exactly in the timespan AFTER the label has been printed and BEFORE the package has been picked up by UPS.
That's what UPS customer service told me.

Further they strongly recommended that the sender should modify the destination address, instead of me modifying the destination after the label has been printed. Because it's more administrative overhead and it might fail if UPS-internal eMails are not read in time or other things go wrong.
The lady one the phone could not really believe I'm not able to get it send to another destination address, especially if the label has not been printed until now. Seems like it is not very usual that a company refuses to do so.

like misleading buyers, forcing them to break the law regarding shipping, refusing to honor refunds, refusing to issue rma's, switching the TOS, using a retard to promote/lie/make thinsg up/guess/ distort evidence, playing mind games with buyers and generally being out & out twunts...

lets not forget they are Phakeonixs favourite company evver!!

evidence enough in itself...
edgar, you are good....lulz

awesome brother

how many are left in batch 2?

how many of these do you think i can put per computer?

There are 178 left
Once you get over 100 things start to get a little tricky. Like boot ups and reboots. You have to unplug all the hubs and then plug in one at a time. the miners can still be connected to the hubs.

Payment sent for my batch 1 order.
PM'd TXID and Address to you as requested.
Thanks  Smiley

Received.
You will have your tracking momentary.
sounds better than the antminers, I had to unplug each one and back on a reboot or glitch....49+ usbs one by one, 49 on the hub and others on smaller hubs...pain
