I don't see how they could pull it off by March 20 (end of winter-many countries count end of winter by Spring equinox), unless they did a lot of work without informing anyone-it would be a first for KnC, but probably a logical progression in their evolution. I sincerely hope for both batches zero and 1 in April.
What do you guys use for PDU and cable for PSU? PSU can handle 240V, but I see that power cable that PSU are supplied with depends on where you buy PSU and in US it is a 125V/15A cable. How this would work if PDU supplies 208V after being connected to a 240V socket (dryer or oven)?
Sorry if it did not make sense-electrical engineering is quite far away from my knowledge base.

Now this is performance How did you get the power usage so low? that's not at the wall.. which is why a lot of these miner comparisons aren't accurate. that is the power usage of the mining boards to achieve the hashrate they give. I pull an extra 60 - 80w at the wall which is down to the fans and control board i would guess |

In case you want to host your Neptunes somewhere else than your original shipping address, you have to resolve this on your own with UPS. And exactly in the timespan AFTER the label has been printed and BEFORE the package has been picked up by UPS. That's what UPS customer service told me. Further they strongly recommended that the sender should modify the destination address, instead of me modifying the destination after the label has been printed. Because it's more administrative overhead and it might fail if UPS-internal eMails are not read in time or other things go wrong. The lady one the phone could not really believe I'm not able to get it send to another destination address, especially if the label has not been printed until now. Seems like it is not very usual that a company refuses to do so.

Huh what? Sounds like US $&btc held at MtGox isn't making it out, e.g. can't be transferred. I tried to make a 1.5btc transfer MtGox to Coinbase and it's a no go. It's been known for a long time that getting money out of Mt Gox to US Banks is near impossible. How could getting BTC to transfer from Mt Gox to Coinbase be a problem? Just because you are having problems does not mean KNC is, and what makes you think KNC is using Mt Gox anyway? |

It seems strange that KnC will not allow either local pickup or change of shipping address. Especially since the colo hosts have yet to announce pricing as they're waiting on KnC to publish specs.

It's Bitpay's responsbility to deal with any BTC -> fiat conversations and I suspect they have a handle on it since they move BTC -> fiat every day for thousands of merchants.. I wouldn't be too surprised if Bitpay has a working relationship with Mt. Gox of some sort but regardless it's still Bitpay's issue, they have a contract with their merchants which gives the merchants the service they require and Bitpay handles the backend work.. Yes, but. If US MtGox users can't transfer btc from MtGox to Bitpay, and someone has said that Bitpay is owned by the owners of KnC tho I have no personal knowledge of that, then if KnCminer were to offer products right now, and if KnCMiner knew via Bitpay that US miner buyers can't access their MtGox btc, and just because I can't doesn't mean others can't either but on another thread someone said nobody in the US is getting anything out of MtGox, btc or dollars, and not to have a run-on sentence but, then KnC would only be selling to those with hard cash or btc outside of MtGox. Is that last a big deal or not? One solution might be for KnC to poll pre-existing customers to find if the MtGox problem would prevent a purchase. However, if the MtGox problem with the US is the FINCen $10k limit on transfers (if by US citizens no matter if the transfer is effected completely outside the US, e.g. MtGox->Bitpay->KnCminer, then ANY Neptune purchase would have been out-of-bounds if done with a single transfer by a US citizen as even at the sub-$10k price, the cost with shipping would have been >$10k. Thread derailment in 3....2....1 What does this have to do with KNC? Best practice is you don't pay anyone from anything but your own controlled wallet. Not Gox Not Coinbase. |
