381  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: January 24, 2024, 05:20:37 PM
Actually, the top 5 teams still have a chance to secure themselves in the UCL zone because they have a narrow point difference, only the teams are able to maintain their consistency otherwise they will lose that place. Arsenal sometimes appear impressive but sometimes also appear less impressive and are still prone to losing when facing average teams so that if Arsenal is not able to be consistent then they will lose their place in the UCL. The same thing also happens to Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur who are still not very impressive at all. the match they are facing. Meanwhile, Man City and Liverpool are still quite impressive and are still on the winning track.
Next week everyone will see how Aston Villa and Arsenal fare in their respective matches, although Arsenal will visit Nottingham Forest which is generally a not so strong opponent and Aston Villa will host Newcastle United which is a pretty good opponent. So both of them must be able to get a win so they can continue to maintain their respective positions and on the one hand Aston Villa must be able to score more goals so they can overtake Arsenal in the current standings.
Arsenal is pretty good since last season and alter this season. I will only not trust them for winning the English Premier League, but for occupying the top four of the English Premier League table, I trust them completely. The only two clubs that have the ability to display Arsenal in the top spots of the English Premier League are Manchester City and Liverpool. Apart from these two clubs, there is no other club that is capable of displacing Arsenal in the top four of the English Premier League. Therefore it does not make sense to predict that Arsenal will a slide off the top four of the English Premier League and therefore will be absent in the next season Champions League.

Arsenal Football club has the capacity to win the English Premier League but it is just that they are coach does not have the 100% capacity to win the English Premier League. Judging from the quality of players that Arsenal has, it is capable of winning the English Premier League only if they will choose to be consistent and maybe focus on one trophy and not spread their efforts across all the competitions.
382  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Football Discussion || Current Topic: AFCON 2023 on: January 24, 2024, 01:52:17 PM
The Ivory Coast national team will be able to win a ticket to qualify for the 16th round of the AFCON, provided that the Moroccan national team defeats its Zambian counterpart tonight.
And the Côte d'Ivoire national team will also have a second opportunity to reconcile with its fans and qualify for the second round of the AFCON, with South Africa defeating Tunisia and Mali defeating Namibia.
Today will be a miracle for Ivory Coast fans if these results happen. I feel that the Moroccan team will achieve a victory tonight and this will give a golden opportunity to the tournament organizer.

This is actually what I hate most as a supporting fan, why  praying? Are they the only serving God? The people in the other country are they not also worshiping God?
Which of the posts are you replying to? Where did you read the prayers that you are hating? And where did you read that they are only the people worship God?
Even if praying is used in the context, praying is not only associated with religion. To pray also means to wish.

It's very very bad that as a host nation that would at least do the least average just to qualify from the group, but they choose to do below average which have now put them in a very awkward situation.

Their is really no excuse for the ivorian national team not being able to get at least a draw from the last fixture which they lost 4-0, let just watch and see how it plays out, but their performance on that day was really a shame for a country of their status in African football.
I am surprised to see that Ivory coast will still have chances of qualifying to KO stage. If that happens, I'll be very happy for them. They are the host, they don't need to exit so early in order to keep their fans happy.
Although, I hate qualification where so much calculations are needed and where your success depends on another teams failure.
383  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A thread for asking and explanation of terms in bitcoin you don't understand. on: January 24, 2024, 01:27:15 PM
This is a very nice thread but I doubt the maintainability of the thread. The thread will obviously be derailed after the first few pages.

Layer 2 solutions: this are simply a set of secondary protocols built on top a blockchain to solve a problem. Mostly scalability issues that result to low transaction speed, congestion etc. They are literally built to share the burdens of the first layer(L1 or original chain), let use this senerio to explain it. Let's say I'm an accountant and I have a lot of paper works on my table and I have such little time and space to finish them on time or even store them, so I employ an assistant that helps me do some of the assignments and then submit back to me for check up. So that's how a layer 2 solution works, they assistant the main chain and then still rely on the main chain as the final boss that issues commands and stores information. If I'm wrong please correct me.
Fine explanation with a layman analogy to enable anyone understand it.

Lighting: Lightning is a decentralized network using smart contract functionality in the blockchain to enable instant payments across a network of participants.
Why didn't you mention here that it is a layer 2 solution. Since you have discussed the layer 2 above, this was supposed to be a synchrony to it. Recently, the importance of LN is seen by this time that the network congestion is persisting.
384  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: This could protect a lot of crypto begginers on: January 24, 2024, 01:01:04 PM
Falling into the hands of scammers trick online looks like something that isn't going to stop anytime sooner, because we always have new members joining this crypto space every week, and no matter how smart they are, crypto space is something very different. Even after learning all the rights from wrongs I still fall into few scams myself.
One thing about scammers is that they don't rest, they are always innovative, looking for some more smarts ways to defraud. They are always some steps ahead of us because we are not working hard to scam people and we are also not working hard to protect our coins. This industry is characterized with scam and newbies are not alway cautious of this until they become victims and hence learn from experience.

Some extra advice.

1. If you want to buy something in crypto space, avoid Twitter at all cost, do not go through Twitter when you are looking into new projects you want to take some risks on.
This advice is something that cannot be adhered to. Twitter is making waves in the cryptocurrency industry and it is the easiest place to attract newbies. Since we cannot do with it, we should learn to manage it effectively.
385  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: January 23, 2024, 06:11:23 PM
I agree with the ranking list you have made. I don't know why some people above me are commenting about Barcelona being in fourth place. And I also don't agree with placing Barcelona other than sixth. The list you have made is very precise with what I predicted. Madrid has the biggest opportunity this season if you look at their extraordinary performance. City were initially favorites at the top but injuries to KDB and Haaland left him in second place. I thought about putting Arsenal above Inter Milan but it's not something big because both are at the same level.
Barcelona shouldn't be in the list because they're struggling to fit into the system of balance. Pep Guardiola is my own favorite coach, he's important and makes football enjoyable because he's always on the top followed by Real Madrid. A club's level is determined by the performance exhibited by the club and their players. Manchester City remained first because their key players have returned to training, remember Kelvin De Bruyne is back and have scored and aissts for his team unlike some players that have no contribution to the growth of their club.
Kevin De Bruyne is a very important player for the team and Manchester City are lucky to have him back in training. We can say that it was a generally bad season for Barcelona. Even if we see Guardiola come to Barcelona as a coach, I don't think anything will change because Barcelona is problematic in other aspects. Without improving the financial situation, they do not have much chance for long-term victories.
Starting with Barcelona, I think Barcelona fans should instead be happy that the name of their club appeared on that list that he made. If I were to be the one who compiled the list, Barcelona will in nowhere be in that list. If you check the history of Barcelona since Xavi became their coach, they do not have any good record in the Champions League. Even when they were in a better form to make their mark in the Champions League they did not do, let alone now that they appear to be the shadow of its own. I do not take Barcelona seriously in anything pertaining European competition. They might be outstanding in their local League but not in Europe. This is exactly what Xavi needs to go and study.

Talking about the first spot, giving it to Real Madrid is not wrong prediction and also giving it to Manchester City would also not be wrong because these two clubs are just outstanding. I would have accepted that Real Madrid would be at the top indisputably if KDB had not return for the Manchester City side. The presence of KDB in Manchester City midfield will surely propel Haaland to a greater level of scoring.
386  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: January 23, 2024, 05:48:48 PM
It is difficult for Manchester City to overtake Liverpool who are trying to secure first position after not feeling at the top of the standings for a very long time. Liverpool are in their best performance at the moment, they continue to collect points to keep their distance from their closest competitors. Klopp will try to give Liverpool his best to end Manchester City's success story in the EPL over the last few years. This season Liverpool has once again shown its strength as a big club in the EPL, they will try to win this trophy to increase the team's enthusiasm for the next season.
The hopes of Liverpool fans and coach Klopp are true, but Manchester City is not standing still at the moment so things will also be exciting this season when Manchester City continues to chase Liverpool to take top position. Even though in reality Liverpool is in very good condition, there is a big possibility for Liverpool to continue to stay at the top if Liverpool can continue to achieve victory in the remaining matches this season, especially when Liverpool faces strong teams like Manchester City and Arsenal.
While looking at the English Premier League table, you will understand that nothing different will happen in this season apart from the usual end of season drama. This time around the drama might not be so interesting, just because Arsenal is not at the top of the English Premier League table. Arsenal Football club is more dramatic than any other club in England. This is because they could be leading the table with 7 points difference and will lose all of them within five matches to end the league. That is unlike Liverpool, if Liverpool is able to extend their leading with up to five points, I will be confident to tell Manchester City goodbye to the title this season. but if the goal difference is just two or three which only one match mistake could cover, I will not be confident that Liverpool will be able to maintain their top spot till the end of the season. If you examine the league very carefully, you will understand that Manchester City KDB is back and also Erling Haaland is back to the squad. Much is therefore expected of Manchester city.
387  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Football Discussion || Current Topic: AFCON 2023 on: January 23, 2024, 05:28:15 PM
Undoubtedly, the Super Eagles are the luckiest team in the AFCON. Their performance is not the best and yet they have managed to scale through to the next round. My fear is that luck/grace does not guarantee success in these competitions, we have to be prepared for the next round. Most of the countries in Africa do not have star players, but what they do have is a team. Nigeria do not play as a team and it’s very obvious.

I don't see the Super Eagle as the the most luckiest in my own opinion though. The Super Eagle players got one of the best players or a team that can be considered with one of the best players in the AFCON right now with the likes of Victor Osimhen who is one of the top players in the Serie A and the newly crowned African footballer of the year, redhot Kelechi Iheanacho of Leicester city, Samuel Chukwueze of AC Milan and the Nigerian star player Ahmed Musa in the forward.

We also have the likes of Alex Iwobi of Fulham, Frank Onyeka of Brentford and Aribo of Southampton FC in the midfield of the Super Eagle squad. We also have a great list of players in the defense including Ekong, Bassey and Zaidu Sanusi of FC Porto.

I mean these are very strong chemistry of players that are doing incredibly in the club side and I should not see the Super Eagle as the luckiest despite the weak performance they have exhibited over the competition.
It all depends on your definition luck. But if I may say, I will align with Pokapoka124 that Nigeria is among the luckiest if not the luckiest in this tournament. Nigeria came with some world class and quality players, there's no doubt about that. But the question is that, is the quality of the squad reflecting in their game play? The answer is pure No. You didn't mention all the big names, there's Simon Mosses, there's Lukeman and even the ones that didn't come to the tournament like Sadiq and Boniface. But the chemistry is not there among these top players. We should expect these guys should score alot of goals but rather they just managed to score only 1 goal of their own, the others goals were gotten indirectly.

I would rather see Equatorial Guinea as the luckiest with their performance in the group A. Even though we didn't really see them going far, they have won their matches with great goal  difference after their draw with Nigeria. One is confident that they will do better in their next fixturing against Tunisia.
These men (Equ Guinea) are not lucky, rather they are wonderful. Use your English well. You cannot tell me that a team that score 8 goals in 2 matches and eliminated the strong host is lucky. They are simply amazing.
388  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Can naira earners keep up with their BTC pursuit. on: January 22, 2024, 01:10:57 PM
This should be a thought of some if not every member of this Nigeria local board that are currently buying bitcoin with DCA and lump sums, and I believe that not everyone here is currently earning in dollars or having multiple income streams to enable them keep up with this strategy or plan of accumulating bitcoin.
I know that if your earning in naira now this must have affected your DCA plans in a way that the amount you used to buy 20$ before might now be getting you less than 20$ and with the current high fees which would be another matter and after having planned yourself with the amount you would be putting in weekly or monthly. And this could be a major setback for naira earners, some of them might even have to quit or even result to changing their plans about buying bitcoin.
This has been on my mind now cause a friend of mine has been bothered about this and i wanted to hear everyone opinion on this if there is a way out for him to scale through this hard times and still keep up with his BTC pursuit without changing his plans.
Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency...
US dollar is a fiat...
Naira is a fiat...
In order to keep your judgment right, you need to concentrate more on the fraction of bitcoin that naira is giving you and not the value in US dollar. The small fraction of bitcoin that you are able to get now from your fiat, keep getting it. When it is time for the rewards (withdraw time), you will enjoy it and by then dollar could be 1,500 naira per dollar. I know it is not easy to maintain DCA investing with naira, especially during the mempool congestion, but continue trying and make more use of reputable exchanges. You will be happy at last.

Round 200 Payments have been sent out!

200 straight weeks - incredible! We've seen some ups and some downs and the campaign has looked very different throughout these 200 weeks but I just want you all to know that it's been an absolute pleasure to manage this campaign. Here's to 200 more!

No new positions have opened up.
Congratulations to Roobet team and to Hhampuz for an excellent management. I was part of this journey for a good number of weeks. I must confess that 200 wks is something worth celebrating by both Roobet and the campaign participants. It is a milestone only a few campaigns will achieve.

Snip~~

Most of the reasons why investors fall victim to these shitcoins is as a result of hypes maybe on social media platforms or YouTube channels so when they notice these hypes, they're always inquisitive to be the first to mine such shitcoins without having the knowledge that they're just mare pump and dump as the developers of this shitcoins are only interested in the profit they're gonna make from investors who are also desperate when a pump begins rather than monitor the activities of such coin whether it can be sustainable at the long run or not.
The reason why some investors are not interested in Bitcoin is because they feel that it's price has gotten to a point where they can't afford it hence their interest in investing on shitcoins with the hopes that they are gonna make some quick profit but in the end they mostly incur losses.
I am tired of hearing about many coins that will out perform bitcoin in the nearest future. When I hear these stories, I laugh at them. Even the king of Altcoins which is Ethereum does not have any ambition to compete with bitcoin, how come it is shitcoins that will out perform bitcoin.
Most times, I am persuaded by many people to start mining these coins and complete KYC. I see it as a complete waste of time and resources. If the coins are promising, I will wait for it on the exchange and buy.
392  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Satoshi Nakamoto remove the 21 million BTC limit? on: January 20, 2024, 04:50:49 PM
Speaking in Davos on Wednesday, JPMorgan CEO and also a well-known bitcoin critic Jamie Dimon made a suggestion that Satoshi Nakamoto might lift the limit on the number of bitcoins, which as we know is 21 million BTC. How would you comment on such a statement?

Referring to the limited supply of Bitcoin, which is to mirror the properties of gold, Dimon said he doubted the finality of the 21 million Bitcoin supply maximum, saying: "I think there's a good chance, when we get to that 20 million bitcoins...Satashi [sic] is going to come on there, laugh hysterically, go quiet, and all Bitcoins [are] going to be erased. How the hell [do] you know it’s going to stop at 21?"
He should understand that even if Satoshi reappears today, he will be like any other developer maintaining bitcoin or like any other decision maker. His decision will not be the ultimate. This alone should negate the type of question an acclaimed CEO asked. Does he understand the power of open source? Now, let's assume that Satoshi has reappeared and has the power to change the 21 million cap, how will that benefit Satoshi as a person?
I don't know if it is better to be a full member in bitcointalk forum than to be a CEO of what one does not understand.

Congratulations to you and be grateful to your dad who gave you a lifting hand. It is not many that enjoy such privilege from their parents.

Now I've furnished and equipped the bar with different brands of drinks. I was thinking of using Bitcoin as a medium of payment for my new business since there have been massive involvement of people from my country in Bitcoin after the initial ban placed on cryptocurrency in my country was being lifted.
Now that you have furnished and equipped your bar, can you think more of how to make your business sustainable. Can you think of how to out smart your competitors. Can you also think of how to attract more customers to your business. If you have a staff that you have employed, can you think of how to train the person to understand customer relationship management. There are a lot of things to think about in your bar business and order to be profitable on the long run. Planning to accept Bitcoin in year business is one of the list things that should trouble you. It is not many people that uses bitcoin for transaction in Nigeria. I mean even if you decide to use Bitcoin for your business you might not have any person paying with bitcoin for about 2 to 3 months. Even if people patronizes you with Bitcoin, how will you handle the volatility apart from the transaction fee which might take the profit in your business. You can find some other ways to promote Bitcoin in your neighborhood and not to force it in a business that do not actually need it to survive.
394  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: January 20, 2024, 04:02:05 PM
It’s just the kind of start Arteta and the rest of Arsenal fans around the world would have hoped for and it was delivered. I don’t know those that were expecting so much of Crystal Palace but the team happens to be lacking in a lot of quality due to the on going AFCON. Talking about the likes of Oliseh, J. Ayew and they aren’t having Doucoure, how would you expect them to make much contest with an Arsenal squad that isn’t much changed. Crystal Palace had a good start but, it wasn’t obvious that Arteta was just going to seat out and endure them for like 20minutes before bringing his game plan. Unfortunately for Crystal Palace, Arsenal didn’t need to wait that long. Gabriel had his goal and then, he was just on fire with the set pieces.
You got the clear analysis of what happened between Arsenal Football club and Crystal Palace. On a normal day, Crystal Palace is one of those mediocre clubs that gives tough time to top flight clause especially when the three points is so important for the opposition club. But in today's meeting with Arsenal, I did not expect much from Crystal Palace because majority of their star players are from the African continent and they have gone for their African cup of nations. If Crystal Palace is to play more few games before this boys are back from the African cup of Nations, it will bring an undesirable results for Crystal Palace.
If you watch the match keenly, you will understand that there was no much effort from the Crystal Palace side in the 18 yard of their opposition. The only major force that was active which was later overwhelmed by Arsenal is Eze, that was operating from the midfield. Assuming there was another strong force in the 18 box of Arsenal, the result wouldn't have been as woeful as it is.
Now that Arsenal has remembered how to win, they could maintain this streak for at least three more matches.

Now, in a situation like this, should we believe your mind or your heart?  Grin
I watched the Zambia verses Congo Dr game yesterday, and though the game ended in a 1:1 draw, Congo Dr played a very good game even though Zambia had the most ball possession, Congo Dr were always in the goal post of zambia and did miss a couple of opportunities they would have converted to a goal.

After watching that match yesterday, I hope for Nigeria winning their game against ivory coast today was raised high, though I am not betting a dime on this game, but I am crossing my fingers for the super eagles and hoping they make us proud this time.
Quote
Good around the penalty box shouldn't have just scored a single goal, they should ha e doubled that goal up, that's what we mean by good at goal. Anyways props to em as they gotta point out if the game.
Y'all still have hopes about Nigeria? Funny how the  Nigerian Football Federation goes about dictating what the coach should do and not do in this game. Don't forget too many cooks spoil the soup.

We just have few food players who play as a team in that squad, the rest are complete gamblers. What's a player like Iwobi doing on the pitch for 90minutes if not straight up bribe to the NFF. I can't see them games unless they improve.
The super eagles squad is just a shadow of ridicule. I have lost total confidence in them. I do not know if I am to blame the players or the coach or the NFF, but it seems that all of them are contributing to the poor performance of the country. The players are not patrotic enough, just like Sadiq who dropped because of injury has been named in the Real Sociedad squad. The coach is not very confident of his decisions and the masses are seeing him as inexperienced. While NFF is known for her chronic corruption.

I wonder how Nigeria will face the host today and survive when the Ivorians are already seated comfortably with 3 points.

If we care so much about our data, we should just choose one reputable casino and complete kyc and stick with them for a very long time. More and more regulations are coming, making it impossible to avoid KYC

This must be the right mindset. We understand how the market is going now in terms of regulation, even Binance the biggest exchange paid a huge penalty for their violation, that's how regulators are very desperate in implementing the law, and it could also happen in the gambling industry.
That's it. Unless a casino does not want to be loud in the industry, they can do without regulations. if I may ask, who establishes a business and does not want it to flourish globally? It happened to Exchanges and also to mixers, casinos will not be a stumbling block.

...
If we care so much about our data, we should just choose one reputable casino and complete kyc and stick with them for a very long time. More and more regulations are coming, making it impossible to avoid KYC
... especially for the ones who aim big and wish to operate in the US and EU. Anyway, when dealing with money people should always be ready for KYC...

I have to know why it is also US and EU while the internet is free. You can be hosted and registered in one African countries and still make wave elsewhere. What I'm I getting wrong?

I have seen such a request here on meta for some time ago. In as much as there is a great advantage if this is implemented but I think the disadvantages overweighs the advantages.

If you already made the post non self moderated and later realises that it ought to be self moderated, simply lock the thread and re-start a self moderated one and that solves it.
399  Economy / Gambling / Re: No KYC Crypto Casinos & Sites | NoToKYC.com | Exclusive Bonuses on: January 18, 2024, 08:23:19 AM
Sigh! How far can you run from casinos that have KYC requirements? It's better to consider such casinos instead of those that are hiding underground to run their casinos and using non kyc to lure people, this isn't Bitcoin that's decentralized and out of the government reach, this is a casino.

If you are still believing that a casino can run without been regulated then you are at a greater risks, because such casinos can decide to do anything, mostly when you won't see it coming, a regulated casino is still operating under the government papers, but a non regulated casino can't be fought by the law, it's like they don't even exist.

Be careful what you wish for, if you don't like passing KYC the only option left is to start going to located casino in your area to gamble, use the machines and take your leave after, no form of registration, no need for KYC verification.
Most gamblers do not even have any reason why they are running away from KYC. Even honest gamblers are now afraid of KYC. They might not be aware that the other man who is avoiding KYC might be looking for a way to cheat the system. It is difficult not easy to a completely non KYC casino. It is either the gambler wants to cheat the system or vice versa.

If we care so much about our data, we should just choose one reputable casino and complete kyc and stick with them for a very long time. More and more regulations are coming, making it impossible to avoid KYC

Arsenal have won just 1 game out of their last 5 games played and things are going to look bad for Arsenal if they are not able to gain points soon to maintain as one of the top 4 teams on the table. Crystal Palace will not be an easy team to beat with Roy Hodgson leading them but I think since Arsenal will have the privilege to play this upcoming match at their home stadium, Arsenal should stand a high chance to earn 3 points from the hands of Crystal Palace at the final whistle.
Don't worry, I'm sure Arsenal will win. They've suffered lose streaks, so all the players must be motivated to win especially Crystal Palace is just a mediocre club. Crystal Palace just lost against Everton yesterday, so they should be lack of stamina.

Even though Arsenal's performance is declining, but Crystal Palace is worse than Arsenal. Unfortunately the match is not worth to bet, the odds is too low and it's full of uncertainty.
That should be the case because Arsenal's quality is much better than Crystal Palace, despite Arsenal's poor performance in the last few matches, but I also have confidence that they will be able to recover in this match.
Precisely because Crystal Palace does not have strength comparable to Arsenal, Arsenal's winning percentage is quite large and it is worth betting on, especially since Arsenal will be playing at home, of course they have a big possibility of winning this match with a score of more than 1 goal.
There are actually many contradictory statements in the above posts made by 3 of you above. Do not get me wrong, I am not saying that the post do not make sense or are not correct, all I am saying is that there are so much contradiction that may point the other way direction instead of what you guys have predicted above. Someone has said that Arsenal lost their consecutive five matches and won only one, that because of the past poor results Arsenal will definitely win Crystal Palace. Another person said that Crystal Palace lost their last match against Everton and because of that they cannot win against Arsenal, this is a clear contradiction. I also read above where someone said that Crystal Palace is a mediocre club that they cannot win Arsenal. In this England, we are not newcomers and we should be able to understand that Crystal Palace is a club that can cause havoc on another club. They might not come to win but they have the ability to stop you from winning.
