1381  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: November 22, 2022, 07:35:40 PM
Maybe after the World Cup we will see some nice transfers of players who can go to the EPL. A World Cup is often a stepping stone for that. Arsenal will eventually start to feel the pressure as they have been in first place for a while now and they are making a big impression. Newcastle has also surprised, and the top of England has not achieved any special achievements. Chelsea are very disappointing and will have to work hard to make something of the season. They have not yet been able to give the result in the CL a good follow-up. It's strange that perhaps the best team in England is playing in the EL now.

World Cup is always the opportunity for young players from unknown clubs and countries to sell themselves and that is why everyone strives to go to the world Cup. The world Cup will also bring some club troubles when their players secure injuries before the end of the world Cup. That is why some clubs which their players didn't go to the world Cup may have chance of performing better than others when world Cup is over.
1382  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance announces crypto industry recovery fund/FTX question. on: November 20, 2022, 07:06:31 PM
Insurance is already not in play when the company got bankrupt which the current situation of FTX. Binance will only promise safety of funds through hack but all users fund will be loss in case the scenario happened to FTX will happened to Binance too.

Ok, that is the truth. Insurance will come to play when there is an accidental lose, theft and hack in the case of online exchanges. But the case of FTX is a mismanagement problem which is not covered by the insurance premium law.
How will Binance be able to use the recovery fund to help others, is it a charity work or there are documents written and signed.
1383  Economy / Exchanges / Binance announces crypto industry recovery fund/FTX question. on: November 20, 2022, 03:42:32 PM
Quote from: Binance
This week, Binance’s CEO Changpeng Zhao (CZ) announced that Binance is setting up an industry recovery fund to support projects that may be facing liquidity issues. The exchange has published details of its hot and cold wallets and the exchanges holdings in this blog post, and said it was sharing these details publicly in the interest of transparency, given recent events in the crypto market. Binance also recently topped up its $1 billion SAFU insurance fund, first established in 2018 to protect users in extreme situations.

I was sent this email by binance which is an indicated that they know that people are losing confidence in exchanges because of the drama they have been putting up recently. My main aim of raising this topic is not because of the Industry Recovery Fund project by CZ, my main emphases is the last sentence in the binance announcement, which indicated that binance has increase her insurance fund from $1 billion to something higher.

My Question:
Did FTX had this kind of insurance fund? If they had, people would not be crying around.
If they don't, it will be right to say CZ is ahead and master of the game.
1384  Other / Meta / Re: Why does an account get autobanned? on: November 18, 2022, 11:56:54 PM

The real question is whether this was an attempt to pose as the other user, which I guess would be hard to tell. Since no public attempts seem to have been made.

This could also be a complete coincidence and nothing more. Besides I have seen someone mention that the legendary Dr.Osh has never appeared in this forum for about 1.8 months. This means that he is not a regular name and would not likely be imposted by anyone.

Assuming the username was like Welshe, LoyceVe etc we could easily assume it is a clear attempt for imposter.
If the OP can buy your idea of applying for a name change it will be fine.
1385  Other / Meta / Re: [CHARTS] Brief monthly overview of the local boards activity on: November 18, 2022, 11:35:46 PM

@Cyrus, maybe its time to consider giving these guys their own local boards? Or at least give to one of them and see how it goes.

Thank you good for lending your voice to the request of Nigerians to the admins of this forum. I have seen the honesty and genuineness behind your request. Since you publish this figures monthly you are in the best position to track how fast and quality the Nigerian local board thread has grown. Every time you observe the immense growth and contribution, you don't hesitate to announce it.

As Cyrus will be examining your request, get ready to travel to Nigeria. We will give you a beautiful wife, it doesn't matter if you have a wife before. It's our culture, we give wife to strangers that are good to us in appreciation for their kindness  Grin

I go with Dogecoin. As we all know Dogecoin has had relationship with Elon musk wen him throw weight for them. Now he is in the news again with his acquisition of Twitter and the aftermath to come, I believe Dogecoin go collect some PR from this.

This thing wey you talk now na wetin I bin reason one of my colleagues fod work place today. Elon na person wey fit do anything anytime and na lover of dodge coin. As me and you reason am, e mean say plenty people don reason am for the industry too. Me no be lover of altcoins though, but the risk make sense to take.
But my question now be say, shebi the target na next bull run, abi you think say Elon go fit push dodge to bull even when bull time never reach?
1387  Other / Archival / Re: Entrepreneurship or Office job? on: November 17, 2022, 11:13:58 PM
I think the easiest thing for me who has just graduated from school is an office job, and I have been working in the office for about 8 months even with a small salary, of course I plan to become Entrepreneurship if I already have good capital and skills so I can be successful and not tied anymore with routine and working hours.
I did office job for around 16 years and during COVID - I was jobless.
It was very tough time - and I started my small ventures - they are not big profits but they are not loss either. So I prefer small personal ventures with office jobs.

I like this kind of testimony. It sounds cool, let me ask you. Can you say if you would have been richer or poorer if you have been into your small venture for 16years. 16years is a big amount of years, I assume if you have been in your small venture business for 16years, you would have been among the riches and most recognised business owners in your town.
Salary work will make you believe you are lazy and cannot do any great things on your own. Business is fine, skills is fine.

The matter of under age voting don dey tey tey, na the hand work of the people wey dey live for the Northern part of the country. One thing with INEC be say, the version of INEC wey dey for North different from the ones wey dey the South. For this voters register wey just conclude you go realise say millions of voters dey disqualified from the South part of the country but very small from the North. Day time robbery dey happen.

Abeg, make we try deh help ourselves for this our one thread. Those images wey stack wey Marykeller post, almost 4 people don quote the images full the thread. If you wan comment you fit cut the image commot make here for dey make sense for us.
1389  Other / Off-topic / Re: ⚽ Football Injuries and Injury Updates! on: November 17, 2022, 09:31:14 PM
We already know that Sadio Mane has suffered an injury while playing with Bayern Munich but the Senegal national team is still Sadio Mane included in his squad because he is indeed an important part of Senegal but I saw a recent tweet from Fabrizio Romana that Mane will not be part of World Cup squad again for Senegal, well, because of an injury that hasn't healed yet, it requires Mane to rest.
It's a tough blow for Senegal as key players are sidelined:
https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1593318352927203331

It is indeed a sad situation for Mane, for Senegalese and for Africans and also for all football lovers in the world. Since I saw in the internet that Mane underwent surgery and will not participate in the world Cup, I am honestly not happy.
There are no many big names in Africa to watch and the ones that could appear are no more. No Mane, No Salah, No Mahrez and no big Nigerian boys appearing anywhere in Qatar.
This world Cup is just not favourable for Africans.
1390  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Shell, enters Bitcoin mining and sponsors Bitcoin conferences on: November 16, 2022, 11:50:03 PM
This is a great news about bitcoin but unfortunately it is coming when there is too much bad news in the industry already, that is why the good news is finding it difficult to make wave.
A company that produces energy to come into Bitcoin mining is a very large advantage to Bitcoin. This can make the debate of green energy and bitcoin energy consumption to come to an end.
The producers of energy will now be directly involved in the energy expenditure
1391  Other / Archival / Re: Entrepreneurship or Office job? on: November 16, 2022, 11:34:37 PM
The person who has an office job around him still has to start a business by himself, which probably means that he is dissatisfied with his current situation and has a restless heart. And I believe that with my own efforts, I can make my life better.
One of the ways to achieve financial freedom is self-employment. Although self-employment often goes bankrupt within a few years, for those with unique vision, self-employment is an opportunity to make a lot of money. It's much easier to earn money than working in a decent company.
It takes many things to be an entrepreneur, it takes a lot to be self-employed, this means you have to take all the risk and bear the consequences of the risk . This is what people are afraid to engage especially now that the economy is nothing to write home about . That is why some people have decided to stick to job that would pay them every month no matter the outcome.
Some people thinks that it is only money that guarantee to be an entrepreneur. Money is just the secondary aspect, the most important thing is the idea and the ability to stand by the idea, no matter the outcome.
1392  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Slave soldiers? on: November 16, 2022, 11:21:14 PM
~ I am really surprised if at this point anyone with an internet connection would join.

I think, they will join because of money. Right now Russian soldiers are paid three times the national average, and most of those people who join the army have never received even the national average. They are from the places where the national average, around $1,000 per month is an unattainable dream, so 3 times of that surely makes many of such people willing to join. But in the modern war they are just cannon fodder. They will not enjoy the money actually, because they will be dead.
I was trying to understand the post whether the under age are being forced to join the army, this your post has helped to clarify my thoughts that these people willingly join the army because of the three times increase of the wages of the Ukraine soldiers.
There is nothing money cannot influence even when it is not certain that they will live to eat the money.
The World human right needs to look into the matter it it is not a good habit fighting a war you don't know its origin because of money

D not ur keys not ur coin way de dey sing abt crypto since or d not hav a majority of ur asset or coin on an exchange, e don clear 4 many pipo eye nw nd stil, we go still get similar occurances later.

I no know if una don try snd coin frm wallet lately, e jst dey renounce wth error message say, d mempol don dey congested wth plenty megabytes of high fee transactions.

Pipo don dey move dere coins back 2 wallet or maybe na coins way don dey questionable via d FTX. E bad shah 4 Nestcoin nd no matter how dem dey try mak dere investors keep faith wth dem, plenty go still leave dem nd e no possible say, investor funds no dey compromised as dem dey claim.
Na so, dis thing wey Happened go still happen. So make everyone be careful for di exchange platforms mata now. Even as e bi like dis pipo still dey keep their coins in exchange. Nd also as e bi like dis binance  2 e no dey safe. I no dey pray for im down fall but if binance fall, na naija boys nai go suffer. Day is we dey advise pipo say let dem send their coins from any exchange platforms to there various walletz for easy access and safety of the coins.
If you dey send coins from one exchange to a wallet make sure you used di same wallet address. In the sense dat BTC address to BTC address BNB to BNB anything other than this you are to receive error or invalid address

We know say exchange no safe, even private wallet sef no safe. Some people fit forget where dem keep their private key and lost their phone, the money and wallet don lose like that o...
The important thing wey dey for crypto no be only to make money, but everybody need to learn how to secure their money wey dem make. We dey always underate that aspect but to me that aspect important well well. Especially for this market wey exchange no too dey reliable, scammers dey one side dey hustle, hackers dey the other side. Carefullness important for this our hustle place.
1394  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Early Is It Now, For Those Who Missed Bitcoin In Its Early Days? on: November 15, 2022, 10:40:50 PM
As long as bitcoin continues to exist and also the cryptocurrency continue to grow there will always be an opportunity for anyone at any time. Even if bitcoin rises to 100,000 dollars there would still be another opportunity because it will eventually get to 200,000 dollars . The only problem or difference is that the amount of opportunity presented by bitcoin today may not be the amount of opportunity it will present by next year but in anyways there must always be a buying opportunity because the market will always be going up and down. Bitcoin is cyclical
1395  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why it's so hard to rank-up? on: November 15, 2022, 10:25:52 PM
Higher rank means good opportunities here in the forum, but why its so hard to rank up?
Here's what I realized for almost 5 years here in the forum and still at a lower rank.

There is no doubt, it hard to rank up. For some people to get it easily does not mean that it is easy to do. Some people can be lucky about it and some can be hard luck. That is why one post must have high merit than the other even if both of them are of the same quality level.
The day I know that it is hard to rank up was the day I saw someone with 1233 activity but without any merit. I was surprised but when I open the person profile I notice they were posting just links upon links upon links. That was how I knew about bounty hunting in the forum. Those kind of people don't get merits.
1396  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Never depend on cryptocurrency as your only source of income. on: November 15, 2022, 10:12:45 PM
This story is like a generic made up story that anyone could cook up and post in the forum. The way you presented the matter made it look like all traders are in shame and loss because of the bear market. A good trader would still be able to make money in the bear market even if it is not as bug as it will be in the bull market. At least the coins are still making movements and it is movements that the traders used to make money.

I don't think that your friends are regretting where they are, it may be you that is regretting on their behalf. If I have some savings in crypto that I want them to rise in the future and things go wrong and I take my savings to sustain myself, it is not a crime, it is life .
1397  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Nigeria (Naija) on: November 15, 2022, 09:53:54 PM
FTX downfall na sometin wey neva dey expected, even d CEO himself no go eva imagine say dis tin go sup afta how big dey don grow for cryptocurrency world and their assets at ground. Nestcoin themself would neva imagine dis could happen to dem too, but dis will serve as a lesson dat nothing is beyond falling if cautious is not well taken. I sympathize with dos staffs dat will lose their job as a result of dis, it is not easy in naija and losing a job at a critical time like dis is very painful. Dis na lesson wey we don learn from all and go dey more careful further in dis cryptocurrency world.

Why FTX CEO no go expect wetin happen to him. Hope say you don read one or two sagas wey don play as the cause of the bankruptcy. When exchange big and the fund wey dey flow in the exchange also big, the CEOs dey always forget say na people money. Because dem go wake up see plenty money wey dey their fund dem go think say na their own and begin to use it anyhow. This Oyibo people too take risk and dem too like competition sha.
But one thing I know is that the CEO no fall with FTX, na only FTX and investors lose. The young guy go start up something else with another person identity and e go still blossom.

1399  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I Taught a Pastor Friend on Bitcoin. on: November 13, 2022, 02:33:34 PM
Good, you've taught a preacher about bitcoin. Tomorrow in the Sunday prayer he'll talk about it as like he knows everything about bitcoin (nothing offensive). This is how many pastors are doing. They want to show that they're updated with technology. To this, the way used is to get some knowledge about it here and there and finally they put forth to the Church people.

Anyhow it is a good thing, because he's considered a leader by some people around and the same will make him spread the word about bitcoin to the bottom people with ease.

He will talk about it as if he knows everything about bitcoin and he will also say the spiritual aspect of it which might not exist. If it was a referral program, he would have many people under him, but bitcoin is not a referral program. He may graduate to the extent of using it for tithe payment. Who knows how the church members may appreciate this newly found technology by the pastor.

Thanks OP for the teaching you gave the pastor, hopefully every religion will accept bitcoin and every race and colors will accept bitcoin also.
1400  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What are different way to earn money through Bitcoin on: November 13, 2022, 12:59:29 PM
As I read your topic title again, I remembered that there was when I created similar topic here in the Beginners and Help of the forum. In my article I discussed many ways African youths, especially Nigerians make living through bitcoin. You may want to see it. Some of the things I discussed require high level skills, some doesn't require skill, just your time. Some requires big start up capital. What matters is what you are able to do and the category you want to choose. See them below;

Bitcoin has employed more youths than the government of some African countries. African countries are most times referred to as third world countries because of their under-development and under-civilization caused mainly by bad leadership. Africans have high level of poverty rate and unemployment. These problems made an average African youth to be inferior to his foreign mates. If the youth try to involve in international trade, they will pay high fees.  If they decide to save their money in their country’s weak currency, it will keep depreciating. An average African youth was financially vulnerable until bitcion brought liberty.
I will discuss how African youths earn a living from bitcoin.

FREELANCING
Bitcoin has given Africans with skills the opportunity to earn by creating bitcoin related contents, bitcoin digital marketing, SEO and more.

BITCOIN MINING
Many African youths did not discover or involve in bitcoin mining at the early stage that it was more profitable. The youths are now joining mining pools with whatever hash power they have to make a living out of it.

BITCOIN INVESTMENT
The buy and hodl has enriched many Africans, especially these few years that bitcoin made some successive decent bull run.

BITCOIN TRADING
This is the most popular way Africans make money from bitcoin. Trading has empowered many African youths. But the risky nature of it like trading altcoins, future trades made trading very scary to newbies and they lose money. You need skills to win here.

BITCOIN PAYMENT GATEWAY
Now that many companies are accepting bitcion as payment for online services, Africans that can create payment gateways for companies or help people purchase things on amazon, are meeting ends from bitcoin.

EXCHANGES
The problem of buying bitcoin with fiat or selling bitcion to get fiat is solved in Africa by Africans and they make money from the exchange fees.

BITCOIN LENDING
Lending bitcion to people with some percentage interest is another opportunity that Africans earn from. Traders borrow from lenders, trade with it and make profit and it becomes a win-win situation for the lenders and traders.

BITCOINTALK SIGNATURE CAMPAIGN
Bitcointalk being a bitcoin forum created by Satoshi has given a few Africans the opportunity to earn bitcoin by promoting some companies in the forum.

Bitcoin has brought liberty to Africa.
