I didn't expect any wonders in the match between Chelsea and Liverpool
I already know that both teams are not in their good form. Therefore I didn't expect them to score good goals. I knew the match would end in draw
A draw is probably the most fair result that could come from that game and that's what they got so, its cool although, it didn't help Chelsea very much as they get to hang at the 10th spot on the league table. It's just better than shooting.

Everton had yet another sad one and the protest from the fans keep intensifying. Its funny how they hope that the board be sacked. Perhaps its just Frank Lampard and I do feel for him. He's putting in his best but, its just not good enough and I can't blame the fans for wanting more out of the team they've got now. They need to secure some win and push out of the relegation zone.

That is true, a shared point is better than going home with a zero point. Chelsea being able to get a draw even when their new signing Felix is still serving a red card offense is a sign that Chelsea have started improving in their performance.

As for Frank Lampard I will suggest that he should honorably resign because the pressure in EPL this season is very high and the more he tries the more deeper he goes down.
1242  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: January 21, 2023, 06:29:12 PM
What a boring game at Liverpool - Chelsea. After only 3 minutes, Chelsea managed to score a goal, but it turned out to be offside. At that time I still thought that some goals were going to be scored. The final score of 0-0 hardly anyone could have predicted. Both teams really have nothing to do with this score, of course. Liverpool have long put the championship out of their minds, they are no longer title contenders and the same goes for Chelsea. Manchester City are lucky that they won the game last while they were still 0-2 behind at half-time. Tomorrow Arsenal will play against Manchester United. A very important game, United can use the connection even better with a win. The game in Manchester was won by Manchester.
I didn't expect any wonders in the match between Chelsea and Liverpool
I already know that both teams are not in their good form. Therefore I didn't expect them to score good goals. I knew the match would end in draw
But I didn't expect a goalless draw I was thinking about a 1-1 draw.
But then this meeting between Liverpool and Chelsea has proven that both teams are no longer title contenders for this season maybe they could turn a new leaf in the next season.
1243  Other / Meta / Re: Know who ignores who on: January 20, 2023, 05:45:21 PM
I have a question for you.

Having someone put you in their ignore list and having someone distrusting you, which one is more damaging?

I guess it is distrusting, because it will reduce your trust score and affect your overall forum reputation. But ignoring someone doesn't have any public impact but personal impact. It could be you don't want to see the persons posts.
So, if trust list can be view, ignore list should also.

I have a different perspective on this. Firstly, trust lists are made public in order to prevent manipulation, as they have a significant impact on how the trust system functions overall. Whereas, as you mentioned, ignore lists only affect an individual's experience on the forum.

However, if ignore lists were made public, they would have a much greater detrimental and adverse effect on the individuals who are included on them. Not only would it potentially damage their reputation within the community, but it could also lead to the exclusion of such members from any marketing campaigns and job opportunities on the forum. The perception of being on an ignore list by a significant number of reputable community members could discourage managers from hiring such individuals.

Additionally, making ignore lists public would likely discourage individuals from expressing their opinions or participating in discussions, as they would fear being added to an ignore list and facing the associated consequences. Ultimately, this would likely lead to a less inclusive and less healthy community.

I read a good point from your posts. If ignore list is made public, some reputable members may convert it to be their armour of war and intimidation. When a member is in the ignore list of upto 10 members, that particular user may become unhireable by any manager. This cannot happen if everyone distrust a user. Unless they are given neg tags.
This forum arrangement is not perfect but it is cool manageable and and nice

If I had to distribute sMerits in accordance to a pre-set criteria based on Rank or else, then I’d probably stepdown from being a Merit Source.

I didn't reason it from this angle before. Like the idea will limit freedom and make merit source of a thing look like a regular job according to fillippone.  Also from Ratimov statement, I am surprised how people write codes to be making posts. Wi their posts be connected or readable to gain merits?
No wonder the last time I checked the generous user's thread you dropped deep down.
1245  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Anyone living with older people? on: January 19, 2023, 02:50:45 PM
They think you're wasting hours in front of the computer because they don't understand what you're doing. It's hard to explain to old people like your grandfathers and uncles to understand what Bitcoin is. To me that's like introducing a bird to someone who can't see.
I think you need to play drama with them, you don't need to be too honest with what you do, you need to try to explain something that is understandable even if you have to lie.

That is exactly what I do when I find myself in such a situation that I cannot express or explain crypto and how I make money from it to people. I will simply tell them that I write articles about bitcoin, I give investment advice and I also do trading and all these gives me money that sustains me.
Those three things are understandable to anyone who wishes to understand what I do.

I don't know if your problem is to make your own people understand that you do genuine job or you want to teach them.
1246  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: More reason why you need to diversify to crypto on: January 19, 2023, 02:23:04 PM
Is a very important thing if person diversify his/her crypto e go reduce risk of loosing or if some other areas perfome poorly u go gain for another place.. And u go still know much on how to do your crypto business and you go know exact place wey you go they invest, so that e go reduce the chance of loosing your funds so is very good to do such thing that to diversify your crypto it will loose the chance of loosing so many funds.

Weda na for Bank o and weda na for crypto, we must learn how to secure our private propers. I see that girl wey been dey cry for video. She talk say she be former bank staff. She suppose find her money if truly na former staff wey she be.
When e come for financial security things I no dey trust girls. She fit don leak her pin or ATM back numbers with her boy friend or even her bvn and phone number dey enough to comot the money.
People wey dey for the bank sef dey follow run this shits dem.
1247  Other / Meta / Re: What one change would you like to see in bitcointalk in 2023 on: January 19, 2023, 01:06:07 PM
To see merit circulate very well in the forum. There are good posts that go unmerited.
If merit sources are assigned to boards of assigned to ranks preferably it will be nice to spread merits.
For example;
The Sceptical Chymist, 50% of your smerits allocation should go to Hero members.
Ratimov, 50% of your smerits should go to Newbies to member rank
fillippone, 50% of your smerits should go to full members to snr members
DdmrDdmr, 50% of your smerits should go to legendary members. Etc
1248  Other / Meta / Re: Know who ignores who on: January 19, 2023, 12:49:52 PM
Bad idea tbh, don't you think this will create more enemies within one's circle Huh

I also believe the system is built this way to avoid confrontation and justification of why anybody would make it on a user's ignore list and for the sake of the forums harmony it's better this way!

El Salvador's President Nayeb Bukel bought at the wrong time and thus wasted a lot of money that his people paid and then continued to buy, which means that either he does not have economic advisors and this is a disaster, or he has and the disaster is greater.

What are you even saying here?
If you bought bitcoin at the wrong entry which is high and the market goes down, what do you do?

Do you sell at loss and not buy again.
Or you continue with DCA to buy more at low if you have the fund?

therefore perhaps she wanted to achieve fame with that, and the goal is not awareness.

How do you mean that the goal is not awareness?

Why did you decided to include fame and remove awareness?
How do you mean that someone that appeared on a global stage with bitcoin suit is not creating bitcoin awareness?
1250  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Bitcoin lightning node in Nigeria on: January 18, 2023, 12:31:22 PM
But some people run their own node to make bitcoin more decentralized, to help in the decentralized network.

This is the most important reason of running a note. You can only be known as a pioneer Bitcoiner by running a node so that you can be able to make bitcoin decisions.
Apart from this, running a node guarantees you another level of privacy in bitcoin.
Download your own bitcoin core today and run your own node so that a few people may not hijack the network in the future. The higher the node runners the lesser the possibility of 51% attack.

But lightning node operator can earn incentive from fee.
Yes, the little fee charged at the opening and closing of LN channel before it is sent to onchain network.

1254  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: January 15, 2023, 08:36:44 PM
-snip-
Real Madrid is 2 goals behind Barcelona at the moment in the first half. Obviously this is the fault of Madrid's defense. Barcelona played well in the first half and as a result they managed to create some good chances to score.

I hope Ancelotti can rack his brains to change the game strategy in the second half because I think in the first half they were too bad. I remain optimistic about Real Madrid in this game, we still have the second half. It's not an easy job after going 2 goals down, but I think we can do it.
I dont think this match will favour Real Madrid, Barcelona is dominating on the field. Barcelona has won the match, 3-0 is a number of win. there is no way Real Madrid will even equalized in this match. even from the stats of the game Barcelona is dominating in all aspect in the pitch,

When I saw notification from online about Real Madrid and Barcelona, I was mad at myself thinking that it is El classico. I had to rush and check for myself and understood that it is the Spanish cup and despite that Madrid fielded their best players just as Barcelona did, they are unlucky to be 3goals behind Barcelona.
1255  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 15, 2023, 08:26:54 PM
Manchester United has always wanted a striker even when Ronaldo was in the club. When Ronaldo was in the club he was not used always to play lots of game.  Manchester United has always lacked striker even before Ronaldo left the club. I believe Ten Hag is planning to bring a better striker for Manchester United.

United had 3 then playing at that position - Rashford, Martial an Ronaldo so I don't think they needed a striker then. They lacked now when he departed as Ten Haag wanted an option whom he can substitute in last 10-20 minutes of the game. Ten Haag likes his current game plan and is making transfers as according to them. I don't think Weghorst is a regular option though.

Manchester united was in need of a striker even when Ronaldo was in the team. Erik was already pushing for a striker then. That was one of the reasons for his fall out with Ronaldo. That is because he didn't believe in Ronaldo for a long term project due to his age.
As it stands currently Manchester united needs a very strong striker to challenge Martial in that position.

I com dey hear sae, bayelsa State command of police Patrol team arrested won Cotonou minor of 12 years nd di boy dey speak only Cotonou , so dem come carry di boy go to do Cotonou community in di state and when dem translate di boy language, he said it was on Fulani man that brought down there to vote for the forthcoming election in Nigeria. 1257  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: January 15, 2023, 08:19:40 PM
After three defeats, Chelsea could finally win... But for now, they are still in the middle of the standings... I'm honestly sorry that such a too-club has had such a disappointing season this year... There is probably no chance of them making it to the Eurocups... Newcastle and Arsenal, on the other hand, have not surprised...

I didn't trust Crystal Palace to win Chelsea. On a good day they are supposed to win but whenever they are expected to deliver, they will lose but if you don't expect them to win, that is when you will see the best of Saha, Eze and Ayeh.
This win should also not make Chelsea relax because they still have many unsolved problems and many tasks to accomplish in order to attain to a stable team again.
1258  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Exchanges lie to you! on: January 11, 2023, 08:36:23 PM
Another is people who choose close source wallets, to me it’s practically the same as leaving your crypto in exchanges. Trust wallet was open source until Binance purchased it, now it’s completely closed source. Anything can go wrong and users wouldn’t know about it until it’s too late. This is exactly the reason I distrust exchanges and closed-source wallets.

Using a closed source code wallet is never same as using exchanges. You have your key to the wallet and you control your funds. There are no much things to be afraid of in the open and closed source codes. The closed source don't want you to know or contribute to the codes. They code and maintain it themselves and also fix their bug unlike open source who makes the code system public.

Closed source doesn't mean anything can go wrong. And open source doesn't mean everything is safe.

1260  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stay humble and go your own way (invest in yourself) - the best strategy of 2022 on: January 11, 2023, 07:19:56 PM
“Invest in yourself “, if any person understands this phrase, then definitely he will be the next billionaire. I mean many people including me, run behind money. I know everyone just wants profits and want to become rich overnight. For this they can do anything and everything. But instead of worrying for profits, if we minimise the loss, then definitely a time will come when profits will automatically fall in your wallet. Patience and wise investments are always the key for profits. So yes definitely the best strategy will be when someone learns from his mistake, and try to avoid it in future.

Investing in one's self has many interpretation and understanding. I believe that investing in oneself is acquiring skills that you will be needing to overcome some challenges and advance in life.
If you read OP very well, this might not be the definition of investing in yourself that he means. And this is giving me worries if there are some other ways one can invest in themselves.
