Bitcoin is unique to me because it is temper proof and time stamped, I will also say because it has no physical representation yet it has much more value than fiat and it has become the biggest inflation resistant asset and currency of all time. The uniqueness of Bitcoin is so much that it affects even fiat to a large extent.
Are you referring to tamper proof? I find Bitcoin unique because of its ability to rebound or recover after crashes and recording new ATH every 4 year cycle. The transparency, decentralization, isn't that unique since many other crypto has also that feature, if ever, aside from what I stated, I believe security can be the major reason why Bitcoin is unique. It is not all coins that is decentralized and transparent as they claim and you know about this. We should applaud bitcoin for being truly decentralized. And again as you stated, the ability of bitcoin to rebounce after several crashes is very unique. It is very rare to see a coin that will crash more than 70% and still survive. Bitcoin holds a very good record for that. Taking about fighting inflation, well I can say it is so but I still have my doubt about this for it will be a topic for another day. |

I also don't think June will look like a sideway as bitcoin prices tend to fall and test new support. $24k has been support in the last 24 hours although currently the price has bounced slightly above $25k. But ultimately I think June will also show some upside to counter the FUD that's going on. The SEC is urged to protect investors rather than drown them with its attacks on Binance and other exchanges, so the impact is bound to diminish gradually. So from that some other positives should also support the upside although I can't expect any bullishness in the near term. The June is fast in recovery. Bitcoin doesn't want to settle long below 25k and that is why it had to bounce back with 24hrs from 24k to 26k. That is a decent shortest term movement and I believe some people benefited from it. Talking about SEC being able to secure and protect people's investment and not to do otherwise. Sec is only interested in the interests of bond and stock investors, while they are in daily war with exchanges in determination of security coins. |

Bitcoin cannot 'die' because the things that can make it go extinct are almost certain never to happen. Of course if there's no more mining, there'd be no Bitcoin, but it is quite impossible that all the countries in the world are going to ban Bitcoin mining. To add to that, miners will also always have the urge to mine because of the reward they get, even when they no longer receive block rewards, they'll get transaction fees.
Another reason that can make Bitcoin to 'die' is if there is no more demand for it, but Bitcoin has an actual utility and solves problems, thus i don't think its demand can drop to zero.
Anything that has a beginning will have an end. We cannot totally predict what the future hold for us and not even in the case of bitcoin whose origin and future is controversial. Bitcoin can die, but the process which Op anticipates that bitcoin will die is not possible. but on the other hand, this will depend on what kind of person and goal you are. Holding for me is more precious to do because this is for Bitcoin. I have never heard the concept of lending or do it, so after reading Op, I thought they were trying to explain staking in another method. This is because in staking you still need to give up your capital for a certain period of time for a percentage interest. But if lending means to give out all the coins such that you won't see it in your portfolio any more until it is returned, I think it is risky to do. I won't risk my capital for a little profit. I will better be patient till when bull run comes and the coins will still grow in my hands. If you really do not know about lending, it simply means you probably don't make use of centralized exchanges, or yet to get familiar with all their features, or lending services like Celsius before they went bankrupt.. Lending is pretty much very popular In the crypto currency industry, staking is also another means through which investors get to earn some interest as well, and is completely different from lending, leading means borrowing your money out completely, to earn some interest when the borrower returns the money... And yeah, I agree wit you though, I would rather hold my money my self, than lend it out, but I believe one of the reasons why investors lend their asset is because it helps them to hold much longer without having the temptation to sell, you can't possibly want to sell an asset that is not in your possession. You are right that I do not much about centralized exchanges. I don't honestly know, even the staking I'm.saying about, I haven't done also. I came into the crypto space and embraced bitcoin directly. And with bitcoin you may not get bit returns ad you may desire but one thing is sure that you will have some peace of mind. I do not mind having to learn about these 1000 means to earn in the crypto world. But my reluctance is that the crypto space itself is a risk. Being in it is risky and going into more other risk may be very bad if not well handled by the person. |
