perhaps though, some other payout schemes are somehow vulnerable to sudden and massive changes in hashrate? Maybe organofcorti or Meni Rosenfeld could comment on that? I just saw on a thread on slush regular miners complaining they are losing on short rounds. Could of course be due to regular hoppers, but maybe its doable with gpumax too. I dont know exactly how Slushes score based system works
One of my purchases was for 60K shares at a cost of like 3BTC I think. I pointed it at Slush, and got in on a 7 minute block, making like 7 BTC. The next time, I paid something like 6 BTC for 100K shares, and did the same thing, and the return was 3 BTC, so it evened out. I then stopped gambling with my BTC.

I'd like to know the bitcoin-qt (0.5.3) is appropriate for mining on testnet (using plain processor) if 20 minutes without blocks have gone by? (more info: https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/pull/686) Is it ok to run as follows? $ bitcoin-qt -testnet -gen I don't have any mining rig and do not want to configure specialized mining software, but sometimes need testnet to create blocks for development purposes. I'm pretty sure the CPU mining code has been removed from the recent versions. Just download Ufasoft cpu miner for testing, and also note that 0.6.0 has been released into production.

Its a monster FPGA no matter what you use it for but the thing about mining with it is someone would have to write a bitstream for it - which would require a skilled programmer and a lot of work But at this price you could probably bash out a slow inefficient bitstream that isn't optimized, and still have some major bang for your buck. Then tune it later.

The other legs of the 3 phase prob go to other offices. You have 2 legs of 208 3 phase in that outlet.
Does that mean I treat it like a singe phase outlet then? Like TWO 110V single phase outlets. Or like ONE 208V single phase outlet. Yep. In any case, the electrician might be a good idea, since he will have to convert it to a 4-wire system. Right now you have 2 phases and a ground, but that is grandfathered in. Need 2 phases, a neutral, and a ground. 250 Volts is just the maximum tested and allowed voltage for the plug/receptacle itself, the actual voltage will need to be measured with a meter. Common voltages are 208, 220, and 240 volts, depending on where you are.
I'm not 100% sure why they are different, but I believe it is due to whether the service is wye or delta phasing.

Pool hopping.
Pool hopping return rate is nowhere near 160%, even with a custom proxy and optimized timing. 300% if the timing is perfect, but the timing window is very tight, if you miss it by 15-20 minutes, you'd get shit in return. ....especially when your purchase got activated 4-5 hours later. used to be very reliable when there's only a few people. 300%?!?! I seriously doubt that. That depends on all hopped pools being EXTREMELY lucky and they solve blocks well ahead of the 43% diff mark. Its practically a max of 150-160% given normal luck, if timed right. It avg's out to around 130% for hoppers using bithopper proxies. When a pool suddenly gets 400-800 ghps all at once, it kind of forces it to become lucky, occasionally.

Since there's been no (or little) public work, you get a payout from your offline pool, not GPUMAX. Um....Ive been getting my pool payout just fine, but my public work payout, well I havent gotten one yet and I should have gotten one a couple hours ago at least! Ive been doin public work a majority of the time in the last 2 days. If you have been getting public work, then payout should be in about an hour (noon central as usual).

Well for one thing, you ought to be able to replace that outlet yourself, that would save you a bit. Unless there is some regulation that says you aren't allowed to, or that you have to be licensed? PS I'd rather have a "as-cheap-and-barebones-as-possible" FPGA.
No fancy screens or built in ethernet or cgminer. Just a bare FPGA board that I can connect with USB.
Ztex? Nanominer seems like it's going to be a cheaper option than ztex is unless I'm looking at it wrong Quite so. But if you want fewer features at a higher price, Ztex is the way to go.
