41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Q:Why isn't the Shocking Ethereum Fees discussed more in Media? A:... on: December 09, 2021, 01:26:10 AM
I believe because most 'Investors' in the space that have just arrived from Wall Street or Sherwood Forest are buying and selling nominal Ethereum on the Exchanges without ever performing an onchain action. Ethereum is utterly broken and 2.0 may never come.

Do you think this is a fair appraisal?

My opinion is that this absurd Ethereum fee has been persisting for a long time (2-3 years now) that journalist think that making a topic about won't be shocking or new. People already know the Ethereum is like this for a long time. There's been enough articles and news talking about it in the past that it wouldn't make much sense to make more.
42  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: No..Craig Wright Was NOT Named Bitcoin's Creator on: December 08, 2021, 09:59:39 AM
Here we go again with these news outlets. As many of you have maybe read, Craig Wright won the lawsuit in Miami over a dispute over $50,000,000,000 in bitcoin. This issue is the media is writing misleading headlines suggesting Craig Wright won a lawsuit over whether he was bitcoin's creator or not. They continue to lace their articles with misleading notions suggesting the lawsuit was over whether CW is Satoshi or not.

https://www.cnbc.com/2021/12/06/miami-jury-rules-in-favor-of-craig-wright-bitcoin-claimed-inventor.html

https://www.benzinga.com/markets/cryptocurrency/21/12/24467590/bitcoin-creator-satoshi-nakamoto-is-craig-wright-alone-according-to-kleiman-v-wright-jury

Please please please read the entire article before making assumptions. We already have people in the IRC and Reddit already spreading FUD regarding these headlines.

We all know what he has to do to prove he is who he says he is.

These journalist are most likely accomplice of him. This is the reason why I don't really take media seriously nowadays, especially when it comes to these type of topics. Although the media surely does a good job reporting the happenings in the world, bias articles like these are what's really turning me off.
43  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Is it good to penalize airdrop hunters? on: December 03, 2021, 04:27:49 PM
Airdrops are a great way to attract people into newly-fond crypto projects. They're basically "free money" for not doing anything in return. Some projects have been widely successful after an airdrop, while others have gone all the way down the drain. There's been a upsurge of airdrop hunters looking to "milk rewards" from the system, effectively dumping all of their coins/tokens on the market for profit. While most projects have been quite flexible in the eligibility for an airdrop, one project decided to take the stand by adopting measures to prevent abuse. Parachain Swap's airdrop has been quite controversial as it only rewarded a small portion of its users. The vast majority of the people weren't rewarded (especially airdrop hunters), resulting in a decline of the token's price.

Do you think it's a good idea to penalize airdrop hunters? Will this do more harm or good to the adoption of crypto/Blockchain tech? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Smiley

I've been an airdropper before and I tell you this, it's really hard to earn a penny if you're unlucky with getting a good project. The rewards for airdrops are very small compared to the presale holders tokens which is why you can't blame the tokens dumping because of airdrop. In fact, airdrop is one of the cheapest way to advertise a project. It's obviously common sense to sell tokens after getting them because they earned it. All the work airdroppers do are not free of course depending on the project. There's no free airdrop nowadays anyway, it's more on referrals and things like that. If airdroppers don't work, they won't earn even a single dollar.
44  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will competitors defeat ETH due to ever-increasing gas fees? on: December 03, 2021, 04:21:56 PM
Developers are rolling network upgrades, yet gas fees on ETH remain the same. It's very expensive to perform transactions on the Ethereum blockchain compared to other competing chains. The ETH 2.0 upgrade will alleviate the situation but developers keep delaying the same. People are getting sick and tired of ETH's "stalling" as fees continue to rise like there's no tomorrow. If I'm not mistaken, developers will delay the difficulty bomb again (by December) in order to prolong the PoW blockchain. The longer it takes for fees to decline on ETH, the bigger its competitors will grow.

Do you think competitors will defeat ETH due to ever-increasing gas fees? If not, why? Are constant delays a result of miners' opposition against reducing gas fees on the blockchain? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Smiley

I can't see ETH being defeated. There's no way that whale investors and core developers would allow that. I don't know what's happening to the current development of ETH (because I already gave up on this smart chain and I recently changed to BCS) but I think they are delaying ETH for the greater good. They want the project to be solid and won't have any problems at launch. Users can only wait and believe that ETH won't be overtaken when their v2 fully operates.
45  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Any easier way to get coins and tokens on their day one launch? on: December 03, 2021, 04:19:00 PM
To all crypto investors out there is there any way to get information on projects before they list on even coinmarketcap and coingecko most especially projects with fair launch, I believe this way one will easily become one of the early investors rather than investing after the coins have surge

CMC recently listed is probably your best bet when it comes to getting easy early tokens. I've had my fair share of good profits (2000% roi in an hour) just by investing early mins after CMC listing. I had some bad once too (99% down) but it's all part of the risk.
46  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: P2E projects in lockdown will help on: December 03, 2021, 11:06:36 AM
Play2earn games will come in handy if another lockdown happens in 2022, those who won't be able to go to work and offices will be able to make money on their homes, I don't pray for this but it's happening already, Omicron as they called the new Covid have reached even Africa countries already, what do you think?

That's for sure, even if there's no lockdown, having at least 1 p2e game will help you pay daily necessities. That's why games like axie infinity who has a stable income (slightly lower nowadays because of lack of update), will really help people, especially students and unemployed to survive another lockdown.
47  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Omicron token gained 900% after WHO name-new variant on: December 03, 2021, 10:47:00 AM
An obscure token Omicron made a massive gain on Monday after the World Health Organization named the new covid 19 variant, the token did a 900% gain but apart from the name being the same the cryptocurrency does not have any connection with the virus.
https://cointelegraph.com/news/obscure-omicron-token-spikes-900-after-new-variant-emerges

I can't believe people are still investing in this even though this project doesn't really have anything significant to offer. I can't believe people aren't doing their research especially that the crypto world is one of the riskiest investment in the internet. Omicron isn't even related to the new covid variant yet people are investing like crazy.
48  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The altcoin market has become scammer's playground on: December 03, 2021, 10:17:06 AM
After the initial success of Shiba Inu coin, I am observing that the altcoin market has become a playground for the scammers in most literal sense.

There are multiple projects now, which are showing 28000% return within just few hours of launching and then showing a steady decline. There are multiple examples,

Squid games: Defunct
Shih Tzu coin: https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/shih-tzu/
Solar energy: https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/solar-energy/
Mini BTC: https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/minibtc/

Etc.

There are many others as well. It is a money laundering heaven. Don't you think such gold rush has to stop at some point. Otherwise cryptos will never be able to make its way into the mainstream world. People are buying from craps to garbages in the name of cryptos.

Voice your opinion.

Even before Bitcoin was booming, the crypto world has always been a breeding ground for scammers and money launderings. Remember the ICO hype of 2017? it's almost the same here except there's a variety of smart chains to choose from.
49  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WHEN DO YOU BUY BITCOIN? on: December 02, 2021, 01:09:20 PM
At one point or the other, we all need to buy bitcoin, but when do you actually buy it? or when is the best moment to buy bitcoin?

For example, should I save some cash to but bitcoin when there's a 0 -15% dip? or should I wait till there's a major drop of >30%?

Is DCA the only way to buy bitcoin? What if I invest in an altcoin that booms and then take profit from it to buy more bitcoin?

What is your strategy to buy bitcoin?

I'd be satisfied with a 10-20% dip because I know it's temporary and Bitcoin will bounce back eventually, the uncertain thing is when will it bounce back. Bitcoin volatility has gown down so much from hundreds that eventually, Bitcoin's price would settle at a stable range in the future, from which I think that price is way higher than our price today.
50  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you invest in new projects? on: December 02, 2021, 12:51:09 PM
Hello everyone, my question is: how often do you invest in new and young projects? Aren't you afraid of losing money if the project closes?

This is the reason why you only invest what you can afford to lose because once emotion took over you, you won't be able to think straight and will probably make a bad decision as a result. Don't invest your entire basket in that project, just invest a small percentage that won't affect you even if you lose your money.

Share your thoughts on such an investment. Maybe you have some interesting cases on this matter.

I definitely invest in newer projects, and there's a lot I've participated with. Who knows, one of those project might 20x my investment someday.
51  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Role of BTC in the metaverse? on: December 02, 2021, 12:46:14 PM
I have been thinking about this for sometimes.

If the metaverse becomes a reality, what will be the significant roles of crypto in its economy?

If crypto such as bitcoin, Mana, Sand are used as means of transaction in the metaverse what will be the reaction of the government?

Depends on the one who build that metaverse. There's obviously going to be variety and most likely that developers will have their own idea of the currency that they will use in their world. Unless developers can solve the fees and transaction speed, then I can't see Bitcoin being used in a metaverse (assuming that we have the tech to do this with the current state of Bitcoin).
52  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you guys think 0.1BTC is enough to "make it"? on: December 02, 2021, 12:39:56 PM
Do you think 0.1BTC will be like owning a mansion?

Maybe in the future where every Bitcoin cost like $1,000,000 each, you could probably buy a small mansion with $100,000 in some countries. Right now? It's very unlikely that you'll make with with 0.1 BTC, let alone buy a standard house and lot with it. Not to mention that you'll need additional funds besides the materials and the funds for the ownership of the land.
53  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: coinmarketcap or coingecko on: December 02, 2021, 10:26:57 AM
coinmarketcap or coingecko what you prefer or and why?
do you use other sites? why

Both have their advantage and disadvantage. There are some coins in coingecko that CMC haven't listed yet so I go to coingecko to check it there. It's also easier to do price checking with my own currency if I use CMC.

Sometimes, there will be inaccuracy in both of them so I pre checking them both to accurately see the price. I also use other website other than this two.

56  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When will ETH Fees drop? (ETH v2 etc.) on: November 30, 2021, 11:07:26 AM
Do you guys have any estimate when the ETH Fees are going to drop? It's been so long those fees have been as high as mountains.
Do you see any light in the end of the tunnel?

The only hope we can see right now is for version 2 to come. Even I limited my usage of ETH from 1 to none because of the absurd fee it is throwing at us. I've noticed that a lot of users are already migrating to Binance which is why Binance is also having an increase in gas fee.
57  Economy / Economics / Re: what is are you list of crypto or tech/non crypto stuffs that we could earn from on: November 18, 2021, 05:00:22 PM
I just can't see SLP being a long term investment. It has unlimited supply and the burning process is just balance. In the future, it's going to be as stable with the burning and minting being balance, as they intended it to be.

Hello Murat, I would like to leave the campaign as of today. Thank you for giving me this wonderful chance and I hope this project succeed in the future Grin

If possible, I'd still like to wear the signature for as long as I can until I find another signature to wear. Thank you.
59  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How you deal with your emotions after losing a lot of money on rug pulls? on: November 15, 2021, 10:48:43 AM
I know it isn’t easy for us to get over or move on with these rug pulls, but I wanna ask the community here. For the past few months, I’ve experienced the “expect the unexpected” moments without warning. To be honest, I have accumulated losses of more than $2,000 in failed meme coins, shitcoins, play-to-earn games that ended up being rug pulled.

I am aware of the risks and the amount that I can afford to lose, but it’s just that I find it hard to make that money back that I have hardly earned. But good thing I didn’t go all-in with my entire savings, and that’s a good thing. I just can’t resist myself from being emotional despite that I’m aware of the risks, and my heart was emotionally hurt too.

I wanna hear from you guys on how you deal with these rug pulls after losing huge amounts? Like how many days can you get back on track after being so emotional? Or what you’ve been doing in order to move on faster after you lost money on these rug pulls?

It's really hard man. Hard earned cash is just too painful to lose and there's just no easy way to deal with the negative emotions when a rugpull or failure happens. One thing I do though is to remove evething regarding that project. Socials (discord, tg, etc) and other traces that will remind me of that project.
60  Local / Altcoins (Pilipinas) / Re: Squid Game Crypto Rug Pull Scam on: November 10, 2021, 02:15:26 AM
This scam will probably become a historic moment, especially when it was captured live on cam. The reaction of the commenter was just so funny although the situation isn't. I don't know kung bakit ang dami paring naloko ng project nato since sinabi na naman na hindi talaga affiliated ito sa totoong squid game.
