A lot of it comes down to cost, especially for new people who are unfamiliar with mining.
When I built my 5 card rig there also wasn't an option to buy a 12 card Mobo but if there was back then I may have bought one to make it more future-proof and have the option to add more GPU's later.

Been using this for the last couple of weeks mining SumoKoin and it works perfectly and very easy to setup, good job

I used it yesterday for the first time in a couple of weeks and everything went smoothly, I will probably use it less often going forward though.

The important thing to identify is if the coin burn will be from the total supply or circulating supply, if its from the circulating supply it should in theory have a positive impact on the price as there will be less coins/tokens in circulation.

It's getting harder to find cheaper coins that could go up a lot due to the recent price jumps, I did mine ETN for a while but i'm not too optimistic on its future, i've started looking into Pirl and Ubiq as there still relatively cheap and Pirl has a low MC.

Tempted to pick some PRL up as it's currently on a dip from its highs over the past week, will do some more research but like the fundamentals and the MC is low.

Best airdrop for me is deep onion. I started off when it was 0.60$ and now it's just under 6$ best airdrop ever and there are still plenty to go Is there a requirement that I must have minimum 100 deep onions in my wallet to qualify for future airdrop? Yes, thats correct, see here for details: https://deeponion.org/airdrop.html

I would go with ETN or Sumokoin for CPU mining at the moment but its not going to be very profitable.

I also used Gateless Gate when mining Trezarcoin which uses NeoScrypt and got a hashrate similar to the above with my rigs. It seems to give one of the best speeds for AMD on NeoScrypt.

Thanks for the replies.
So the best profitable altcoin to mine now with cpu/gpu is monero? monero support cpu and gpu?
Yes all CryptoNight coins are good for mining with both CPU and GPU, a lot of them are very profitable at the moment, Monero, ETN and SumoKoin.

|
My pick for January would be Substratum as they are due to release there product.
I also think its going to be a big year for Privacy coins like Monero.

At the moment I use both Binance and Bittrex, I think they have been better at coping with the increased load on the websites over the last few weeks.
Hopefully Krakens upgrade will help with the issues people have been experiencing with there site lately.

It's a long way off dieing, there are always going to be new POW coins that can be mined so I don't see any issues for the next couple of years either.
|
|
|
I would go with one of the cheaper CryptoNight coins so you can accumulate a few, ETN or Sumokoin.
|
|
|
Yes its profitable, not the most at the moment but it depends if you want a solid top 10 coin with a good future or if you want to mine the most profitable Cryptonight coin like ETN and sell it straight away.

Thanks for the new version Claymore.
I'm seeing 70h/s speed improvement on my RX570's, has anyone compared power usage at the wall yet?
|
|
|
Yes as others have said there will always be new mineable POW coins, more POS coins have come out in recent months but many of them are just clones of Dash and not innovative.
It will be interesting once Eth moves to POS to see how it progresses.

Surprised it went so high in this run already, I'm more confident now that we'll see 1k USD soon.

Thanks for both answers. I am mining with SMOS but I think is also prepared to set dual mining if you can do it with those cards on windows. The only thing that it makes me take it slowier is that I have no idea when the 4Gb GPUs cant manage the dag file and I will be forced to change the mining coin. I donīt remember where I did read something about that, but 4Gb GPU's has a real deadline for ethereum mining, hasnt it? Thanks again It's not expected to reach the limit for 4gb ram cards until 2019 so there is still a good bit of time left.
