41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is this a right time to buy some ethereum?. on: March 05, 2022, 07:17:57 PM
Whether it is a good time to buy or not is not the most important right now, what is important is that the gas fees are much lower at the moment (as low as 25 GWEI) so if you need to make any transactions or get out of the ETH ecosystem now is the chance to do it. While it is the strongest altcoin in my view, the high transaction fees is pushing a lot of people away from it. If however ETH can maintain the current gas fees it is much more affordable. Currently tx go for $3-$6 which is much better than the $30-$60 a while ago. It may however change in the future if tx pick up. I do think though that ETH price will go up after the merge.

I see your project has lots of features that would be popular. However I would like to understand the following better:

  • How will UUSD be backed in order to peg it to fiat USD? Will you have some kind of reserve or putting aside fiat USD as collateral for the UUSD?
  • How will you prevent the platform from being used for illegal purposes since you say tx are untraceable?
  • I doubt that you will get any CEX listings due to the untraceability of tx. How will you then bridge?
43  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Metamask "decentra-lied" to us? on: March 05, 2022, 05:57:24 PM
I am also wondering how this is done. Perhaps it is a matter of looking at the IP address where the user is logging in from into the relevant wallet/tool/exchange? If the user is logging in from a sanctioned country then the access is not allowed. But I could be wrong.
44  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: All Experts Please Suggest me on: March 04, 2022, 05:17:14 PM
I would say do not invest any money in crypto. You should rephrase your question to: I want to blow $5000 a month for the next three years, suggest something to blow it on. I know this sound harsh, but if you are going to invest, then your emotion will be with it and then you will most definitely lose the money as you will worry each time it drops and sell low and buy high. Write off the $5000 per month and put it in the coins suggested above, although I would add Polygon (Matic) to the list. If you lose it you smile and don't feel bad and if you make money you smile a bit more. Go long and don't flinch if someone coughs.
45  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Real life utility question on: March 04, 2022, 05:12:13 PM
Crypto is pretty much still wild west. However over time the wild west will be tamed and something really strong and useful will emerge. I can already see that in the DeFi space. Compare DeFi for example with the old days 2014/15 and see the huge improvement in utility since then. There is already a lot of utility that can be obtained from blockchain technology. Several real life projects are underway utilizing derivatives of the ETH blockchain for example that includes clearing between banks and central banks.
46  Economy / Economics / Re: Russia - Ukraine war - Exchanges needed for sanctioning on: March 04, 2022, 10:09:47 AM
As per Reuters both Coinbase and Binance re-iterated today they wont ban Russian accounts.

"March 4 (Reuters) - Cryptocurrency exchanges Coinbase Global Inc and Binance reiterated on Friday they have no plans to preemptively ban all Russians from using their platforms."  Source

Since these exchanges do KYC they might decide to target individual accounts of people on the sanctioned list. For the rest they may look into large transactions or unusual activity to identify circumvention attempts.
47  Economy / Economics / Re: Inflation hits Russia on: March 04, 2022, 10:01:49 AM
Quote
Both countries will suffer after the war, not just ukraine but also russia will have an economy crisis because of many countries starting to sanctioned russia. In this war conflicts the citizens of both countries will be much more affected.

Infant both Russian and Ukraine,it will take them some years before they can recover from their losses in this war situation that is going on their countries. Just 5 days the war has started, many people has loss their lives and properties  and many companies has packed up because of the war that is affecting their workers and customers in the country. Inflation has started already in the both countries because war is the major thing that cause inflation to humanity. The two countries find it difficult to feed very well over 5 days the war has started between Russian and Ukraine which is seriously causing damages to their economy and education sectors because all schools in those two countries has been closed down few days ago for the safe of the students and staffs in the countries.

Should this war end with the current Ukrainian government still in place, the chances are high that the West will assist Ukraine to recover with money and reconstruction, which means that Ukraine will recover much quicker than Russia.
48  Economy / Economics / Re: Russia has attacked nuclear power plant in Ukraine on: March 04, 2022, 09:56:38 AM
There is a video clip on the news channels that shows how the Russian forces shoot at the nuclear reactor blocks. Then the fire starts and the shooting continues. Had that reactor exploded it would have had catastrophic results. I am just glad that the fire was put out in time.
49  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What are small miners doing right now? on: February 27, 2022, 09:54:57 PM
The profitability we know has reached almost an all time low where for 350 Mhsh you make like 12-13 USD a day but I wonder what are small miners doing and by small miners I mean home miners the ones with just one rig with 6 x Rx 470/480/570/580 and doing about 180 Mhsh or 6.5 USD daily if their electricity price is for example expensive like in Germany which goes up to 0.17 EUR/kwatt.

I think many of them have shut down their rigs but I was once in their shoulders in early 2018 but I kept on mining even at a loss and at 2021 that materialized in a really big profit for me.I advice such miners to keep mining even at a loss knowing that in the long term I only expect Bitcoin price to go upward.

PS.Talking about Ethereum mining here.

Just shut down your rigs and sell the cards. It is more profitable to trade in my view. I know many people that have packed up. Yes you may be lucky at some point and be geared for mining and there is a sudden surge but that is your choice to make. You mention ETH specifically and ETH is moving towards POS which will make your cards redundant for ETH.
50  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The way things are going with new crypto is worrisome on: February 27, 2022, 09:42:51 PM
I think it is just going to increase, however this is not something new. Back then you could see many coins were just copies of other coins and a few parameters were changed like blocktime, algo etc. and find and replace done on the coin name. Happened all the time and will always happen, so what you are experiencing has always been the norm. One thing that has appeared and is more established now are audits. Audits help at least to check for basic serious issues with contracts. In a way it has become easier to land new projects/tokens because the devs have to worry less about code like C++ and compiling it on different platforms but can use more simpler code in contracts on platforms like ETH. There are also templates available and code for contracts that less knowledgeable people can use as a base. In my view it is become more difficult to spot real vs non-real projects in the DeFi world.
51  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: why are there so many coins and the reason why some developers failed on: February 27, 2022, 09:32:19 PM
Most alt-coin projects are scammed or devs that want to make a quick buck, which in my view is also a scam. Back in the day 2014/15 there was a coin launch every second day and sometimes ninja launches. It was fun and musical chairs but almost all price graphs look the same. People mine the new coin at launch and then the community shouts for an exchange and when it gets listed it pumps and then people dump and then greedy n00bs sit with bags and for months cry about it. Most price graphs look the same sharp rise then sharp decline and then gradual decline until it is dead. A lot of projects also fail because the dev teams do not address the fundamental issue of sustaining the demand for the coin/token they are launching and when demand drops the project dies.

This sort of sums it up. Post 2015 more established alts started to land like Ethereum, Polygon, Binance etc. So there are alt-coin projects that are valuable and where the dev teams are clued up and want to make a difference and those projects succeed. Sometimes it is extremely difficult to spot if a project will succeed or not.
52  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 🔥 [ANN] SnowCone: A Suite of Tools for DAO Creation & Management for $AVAX ✅ on: February 27, 2022, 09:14:53 PM
It seems like you are building a one stop shop to easily deploy DAO related functionality. I say seems because there is no whitepaper and only a little bit explained on your site. Can you give us a whitepaper? This would be important especially if you have a previously failed project which was pointed out by the previous poster.
53  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [Pre-Sale] enVoy Defi - Sustainably Green trust in trade on: February 27, 2022, 06:43:28 PM
Looks ambitious and would be good if you can get it right. Just check a few things:
  • Page 11 of the deck left part (traditional flow) - arrow of purchase order is wrong way around as it is the buyer that gives the seller the purchase order, even traditionally
  • You would normally get your lines of credit right before you give the purchase order, unless this is assumed as you start with purchase order as the first step.
  • Page 11 of the deck right side there is no interaction between financier and Voy indicated
  • Where does the "green" part fit in as that is defined by the underlying platform
54  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][TRUST] --> TRUSTplus TRUST <-- [X16S][PoW][MN] on: February 27, 2022, 06:15:40 PM

Hi Travis, I remember Trust from back in the day when it started. Checking if you will be making any moves into the DeFi space and perhaps hook onto one of the platforms like Poly or BSC etc? Or will Trust just stay standalone as it is at the moment.

Hello again!

The State Commerce office laughed at me for applying for a bank charter. I had the capital but no education or a sponsoring bank for me to join the "club." They took me as a joke. Bitcoin is not much of a joke anymore, and I enrolled in college and will be graduating with an MBA in Cyber Security end of March. Valedictorian. I hope to return and get my Bank Charter this year.

I'm CPU mining the x16s myself and own most of the masternodes. iHostMN is still running a couple of stakers. iHostMN @ 12 euro a year - it's a great deal. https://ihostmn.com/hostmn.PHP?coin=TRUST TO EVERYONE! If you are short on the collateral, let me know. I would be happy to help where I can.

I want to keep it standalone and activate the dozen manual bridges. If enough popularity exists, I will create the automatic bridges and umbrellas necessary to be considered a DeFi blockchain. I can promise I will not pay another exchange to list the coin. I've spent enough on listing fees that don't result in listings. In hindsight, I should have developed our exchange like OK coin—hint hint.

TrustPlus current state. All Branding properties are owned. Discord is our Support Area. Blockchain Explorer is up. Zero Marketing planned. No Exchange agreements are active. The focus at the end of March will be on getting the legal requirements to exchange FIAT for TrustPlus directly.

Travis

Thanks for the update. Not many coins remaining and still around after so many years which is a feather in your cap. Fiat on/offramp is great to work on, but I do think that DeFi is the future. Even then however, having just DeFi capabilities is not enough but will need some use cases. Either become a L2 use case in itself in some way or form on some L1 platform, or become a L1 platform providing L2 use case capabilities.

56  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I desperately need help deciphering characters of a lost ETH private key on: February 27, 2022, 02:41:03 PM
There seem to be around 13 characters that are ambiguous. I would recommend that you write a script and brute force those 13 characters. Even with those 13 you do not need to go through the whole key space. Doing a brute force attack under these conditions will give you the answer in a short space of time.
57  Economy / Economics / Re: Who gain's from War ? on: February 27, 2022, 01:32:43 PM
I noticed that three countries abstained from adoption the resolution on Russia at the United Nations - India, China and UAE. It would be interesting to determine the real gain these countries would get from the war by not also supporting the resolution. Having said that, China did not veto the resolution like Russia, which may give a hint where they stand, but then China probably did not have to veto it as Russia vetoed.
58  Economy / Economics / Re: War requires three things on: February 27, 2022, 01:24:34 PM
I can understand to the money, money, money comment. Wars are extremely expensive, not only in direct cost of sustaining the war effort, but also to secondary costs in keep the economy going and making plans to obtain resources needed for the economy, that becomes more difficult to obtain, on both sides of the war. If this becomes a prolonged war, Russia will feel the financial impact and Europe will feel the increase in cost of alternative energy sources. It may just be in the end a decision between who can last the longest between potentially hunger and starvation on the one hand for Russia and high energy cost on the other hand for Europe.
59  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PRESALE] CHIYA-PROJECT | DAO | DeFI | Metaverse on: February 26, 2022, 01:26:41 PM
Can you please expand on how you are going to prevent the market price for Chiya token from tanking? Your revenue model is based on sales of NFTs that the team creates as well as sale of land, but all in terms of Chiya token of which there is going to be 1 Trillion tokens.

I also note you say "All of our smart contract codes is publicly accessible in  our GitHub. It will be audited after launching.". You should actually do your audits before the token sale to give credibility and also publish the results.
60  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: |ANN| New F2P, P2E game, Zyon Defenders on: February 26, 2022, 01:01:52 PM
I am excited about all these types of games being released. I can however not read about your project because the website does not work and the whitepaper asks for an email address. Can you please fix those so that we can read more about your project?
