and v1.4 with its new UI is not far behind!
We have the greatest dev....and with the "donations" from the staking now active in v1.3.5...it looks like he and brycel are the foundation for what's to come.

I do wonder though why the drop in XSPEC has been so large in comparison to bitcoin and most other alts. My best alts had a 15% drop, average I would say it was 25% and XPEC had 43%.

Do you own whats in your signature? This was taken from CMC just afew minutes ago and the last figure is 7 day, which is about when nearly coin on cMC started dropping

256   DeepOnion   ONION   $39,918,686   $8.30   4,808,420   $434,801   -7.70%   -20.81%   -52.69%

225   Spectrecoin   XSPEC   $48,518,211   $2.33   20,785,264 *   $363,740   -4.84%   -23.42%   -48.69%

So please take your onion hat and your fud elsewhere

Much investing in stocks.....half in old stand bys like Btc, Ltc or Eth.
And half in ones with low market cap and room to grow, potential but have been around a little while.
SpectreCoin [xspec] , Bismuth [bis] or Shift [shift]
over 1300 coins out there today so enjoy and good luck.

The wallets of most coins store their data in a separate directory in your "app data" folder and never in the wallet program itself.

Here's the latest on the upcoming Windows release

"As you are probably all aware, testing discovered some issues with the v1.3.4 binaries just before they were due for release. Specifically, we seem to be triggering a bug in Qt4 on the Windows 64-bit platform. We can't release the binaries with this problem, and Qt4 is no longer maintained (v1.4 was to be our migration to Qt5). Bryce and I have got together at his place in the Arctic north to come up with a solution. Yesterday we backported part of the Qt5 migration from v1.4, and we've verified that this solves the problem. We now need to backport a couple of other small changes that this migration requires, and do some testing. This release will get a new version number (v1.3.5) due to the significant additional changes compared to v1.3.4. And you all get Qt5 much earlier than expected!

We expect to make the release in the coming days and will give regular updates about progress."

TOR released their update and our dev,@jbg, will be releasing v1.3.4 later today.
51  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Spectrecoin[XSPEC] TOR+OBFS4, Ring Sig, Stealth! on: January 09, 2018, 01:17:13 AM
it's been on the OP since this morning and also a few posts above
and....if you'd join the slack community been there since this morning when TOR announced they would be delayed until tomorrow
52  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Spectrecoin[XSPEC] TOR+OBFS4, Ring Sig, Stealth! on: January 09, 2018, 12:00:49 AM
great news... i think the price dipped because the website updated but the new wallet did not come out.

And it was fully explained why....no point in having to re-release the client and having TOR mismatch.
Surely people aren't that fickle.....and if they are ....and only here for a price pump...let them go.
53  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: My picks for the next x10 coins in upcoming weeks. Agree or Disagree? on: January 08, 2018, 07:16:30 PM
"--- SpectreCoin. One of the top privacy coins in terms of tech, but still is rank 200? Only for now - it has seen nice growth the past few weeks, and again, it is correcting and hitting bottoms, ready to surge again. It is much better tech-wise than XVG (Vaporware Verge), and has much more upward potential. HODL."

Thank you for the kind words....The new website is now live and the latest SpectreCoin [xspec] v1.3.4 client update is due tomorrow January 9,2017 pending the latest TOR update since the Spectrecoin network runs natively on TOR+OBFS4....so users in China,Iran and countries blocking TOR are able to utilize.

So we can expect the next 1.3.4version within no more than one week?

Posted on Slack "announcements-news" on January 1. And if you knew our dev....you'd know that he never, ever posts things with a "hard date"....so i'm pretty sure we'll see this one on the 8th.  Grin

Please note since TOR delayed their update to January 9....the v1.3.4 will release just after. The TOR update needs to be installed before its release.

"Hi @everyone, a quick update: v1.3.4 will be released concurrently with the Tor 0.3.2 final release, which is due January 8. This update includes these fantastic features as well as smaller improvements:

- *staking donations* - automatically donate a % of your staking rewards to your hardworking developers, giving us a reliable source of funding to keep making XSPEC better.
- *nodelist update* - no more "0 connections"! we've also set up two dedicated nodes operated by us developers to keep things stable.
- *Tor upgrade* - keeping us running on the latest Tor release for the best network privacy possible
- *Linux binary packages* - including .debs for Debian, Ubuntu and Raspbian (*Raspberry Pi*) - no more building from source on these platforms!
- *macOS <10.12 support* - due to an Apple bug we lost support for versions of macOS earlier than 10.12 in the 1.3 releases. This has been corrected and we now support 10.10 and above.
- *build system overhaul* - the wallet is now much easier to build from source, making things easier for Linux users, exchange operators and users of unusual platforms"

and this followed on Jan 3rd....."Pleased to announce that the all-new Spectrecoin website will go live January 8!"

Really... The Slack Community is the best place to keep with all things SpectreCoin[xspec]...please feel free to come join us!  Grin

Developer News - @jbg has set a hard date for v1.3.4 to coincide with the release of TOR’s latest update due for release January 8,2018. This section of the newsletter is almost unnecessary these days as he spends so much time on Slack Channels and answers everyone’s questions with clarity, knowledge and patience. That’s what the community wanted and that’s what they got.

I’m sure everyone saw his request to the community for any
amount of xspec that they could spare. Given that the time he spent in the Slack Channels was one of the things slowing down the development of v1.3.4 and its inclusion of the donation slider….we need everyone to step up!  I’m quite sure that the new people coming in gained so much knowledge and  confidence in the whole project because of his daily presence.

To help “tide” the team over until the donation staking can take effect…..please join me in sending anything, no matter what amount their way. Just 10 or 20 xspect adds up with the size of this community now. Addresses are below.

Other SpectreProject News - Wow, so much has changed in the past year. Every week we seem to reach new highs in our community, support and value. The growth and recognition of SpectreCoin[xspec] is starting to fulfill the vision of the founding Dev, @jbg and the dedicated group of long time hodlers.

Biggest news is the recent addition of a  professional web developer, @kepler,  to the community to completely overhaul the website plans also for release January 8,2018. It was bittersweet seeing @rkh’s hard work discarded (he spent many days on his design)…..but he was a real gentleman and stood aside for the the website going another direction.

Once again, SpectreProject and it’s community show the rest of crypto what “community based” really means.

Personal note - Back home to North Florida to be greeted by an arctic front producing snow (yes SNOW), ice and temperatures here of 29 degrees F  or -1.6 C. Maybe not so cold to some of you...but for us it’s COLD.

So, now I’ll be around more and working mostly Slack and telegram groups (its over 500 members now). I have so many new names to learn….Say Hi when you see me!

I find it very funny that some people create a new account just to fud another project....hmmm...and a russian no less.
Sir, if you really want anyone to take you seriously, remove the mask and step into the light.
Or else just run along.

Soon xspec will be add to Binance and soon price hit 100$, after 100$ will move confidently to 500$ (10b marketcap)
It is happen soon

how do you know? source?

Can the Spectre team confirm all the submissions(requests) to new exchanges such as Binance?

Not part of the core team, but I can confirm that the project is in discussion with several exchanges. After release of 1.3.4 next week, the effort is expected to intensify further.

What I can confirm is we are always looking for a mutual opportunity for Spectrecoin[xspec] and an exchange. But let me say....its the tech and the community that grows the value of a coin....not this or that exchange. The amount of money that some of them want for a listing borders on obscene with some wanting thousands of dollars to even consider and make ithat non refundable. Take a look at even smaller exchanges like Cryptopia and you'll see they want almost five btc to list a coin. Do the math.

What many don't realize is a privacy coin like Spectrecoin[xspec] and a centralized exchange are at odds when the exchange has to comply with the KYC demands that governments around the world are starting to implement. Taxation is the goal of course and they all smell money.

Our current exchange line up serves quite well. we're not looking for a huge pump and then dump of xspec. A nice steady growth in value as people learn what real privacy is all about.

Decentralized exchanges are small now but, look for adoption to increase in 2018.
