41  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BTC HODLers are getting all the new technologies for free! Why? on: June 06, 2020, 04:46:29 PM
If every new tech in crypto field goes to BTC HODLers for free, why would people invest in new tech?

Long time BTC holders are the oldest gang that first believed in Crypto assets. Hence, it is rightfully deserved by them to get airdrop of new coins. Moreover, these airdrops make sure that new techs in Crypto industry get battle tested in the hand of long timers. That's a plus for that tech itself.

That is why, I dont see anything wrong for new tech coins to be airdropped to BTC holders.
42  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: In which language top gambling sites are coded ? on: October 12, 2019, 06:48:40 PM
From what we can gather by common sense I can assume that both stake and bitkong has javascript on their front end, this is not a guarantee but it does seem like the regular old html/css/javascript combo should be enough for the front end, I have messaged to their support to ask what language they were coded but unfortunately I was not capable of getting any answers.

Stake customer support thought I was asking the "language" of the casino as in English and all that, bitkong didn't replied yet at all. I think the safest option to assume could be c# for now, at least for the gaming parts of course because that would be the easiest option yet again to build these games on C# but I am not entirely sure how the payment part of it is coded since it could be anything.

Rather than asking customer support, it is probably better to ask directly in their BitcoinTalk thread and mention about this thread over there.

BitKong.com: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1214505.0

I want everyone's participation to make this thread a hub of technical know-how for gambling portals.
43  Economy / Reputation / Re: [self-moderated] Report unmerited good posts to Merit Source on: September 24, 2019, 06:37:05 PM
Am I allowed to report my own posts for this thread? Still trying to get 1 merit so I can post pictures.
That's okay Smiley
That's nice to know.

Here is a post of mine in 2014, which I believe deserves merit - In which language top gambling sites are coded ?

Feel free to contribute to the thread as well. Smiley
44  Other / Meta / Re: Local boards' activity & merit (daily) on: September 04, 2019, 05:11:10 PM
Along with local boards, it would be great to have a track of pinned local threads under Other languages/locations as well.

46  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [coinb.in] Open Source, Multi Signature, HD Wallet, SegWit/Bech32 and more! on: July 02, 2019, 11:51:16 PM
https://github.com/coinbin/coinbin is not my repo, I have never controlled it, I lodged a complaint with github and they had no issue with it at the time.

Please only use https://github.com/OutCast3k/coinbin

Thanks

Would it be very difficult to provide support for Bitcoin Forks like BCH, BSV, BTG & BCD at Coinb.in?
47  Other / Meta / Re: Retention/privacy info on: April 25, 2019, 07:29:47 PM
It's a bad idea to provide any IP log to the user themselves. Compromised accounts happen and the situation could become worse if the attacker can access your IP logs.
Compromised accounts get PM details as well. That should not be a reason, not to provide IP log data.
48  Other / Meta / Re: Retention/privacy info on: April 25, 2019, 07:23:20 PM
I mean, an user has right to know his/her own information.
In the EU, yes. In the US, no.
I dunno if u r right or wrong. But, if u r right, a legal action against BitcoinTalk at EU may ban the domain all over EU. On the other hand, US probably does not prohibit an entity to share such information with their userbase. So, it is probably better to share the info.
49  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [BTCP] BitcoinPrivate: A Truly Private Bitcoin [Equihash] on: April 24, 2019, 11:22:04 PM
I have some unforked coins in a multi-sig address since 2017. Can I get my BTCP out of that?
50  Other / Meta / Re: 50 Merits for bounty threads. on: March 31, 2019, 12:03:11 PM
Imagine if Theymos decide to rollback all ranks counting only the earned merit so far, should be fun.
It would be insane. Because, a legendary is contributing to the forum far longer than the merit system exists. It is very much possible that a hell lot of posts created by him/her in past were worth of merit, but it were not awarded any. Now, if only the earned merit is considered, it'll be highly unjust to the old posters.

For example, there was no merit system in 2014. But, if this thread was created today, it probably would have received some merit. This is how many of our old threads are merit less, because they were created way before the merit system.

Russian interference at Venezuela begins.

Two Russian air force planes landed at Venezuela’s main airport on Saturday carrying a Russian defense official and nearly 100 troops, according to media reports, amid strengthening ties between Caracas and Moscow.

52  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should bitcoin be limited to 21 million? on: March 19, 2019, 05:01:09 PM
Bitcoin is less of a currency and more of an asset class. Finite supply is a fundamental feature of Bitcoin. No compromise on it will be accepted.
53  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: LNchat.org - dedicated LN community site with various built-in LN functionality on: March 19, 2019, 04:56:42 PM
Just a quick update. We decided to purchase a license for IPB and have laid the foundation for the message board itself. We are now looking for contributors/freelancers to help integrate invoicing into the site. If anyone would be interested in helping out please reach out to either myself or BitCryptex. Thank you!

54  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk.org did it into the big cryptomedia today.... on: March 14, 2019, 07:40:23 PM
Is this data from Google Analytics?

No, it's based on data collected server-side on every ad impression. No JavaScript analytics is used.

Ok. As Bitcointalk uses CloudFlare now, would you mind to share the unique visitor data from CloudFlare?
55  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk.org did it into the big cryptomedia today.... on: March 14, 2019, 06:56:03 PM
That's nonsense data, an estimate from a Web analytics company based on who-knows-what.

The real data shows for example:
 - Late February 2018: ~3.51 million total ad impressions per day
 - Early January 2019: ~3.44 million total ad impressions per day
 - Late February 2019: ~3.41 million total ad impressions per day
Is this data from Google Analytics?

Why was it removed?
58  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is not enough: we need open source hardware on: March 14, 2019, 02:06:15 PM
You can create a Private Key just by pen, paper and a dice. 3 letter agencies can do a f**k about that.
59  Economy / Lending / Why someone having collateral take loan in the first place? on: March 14, 2019, 02:03:02 PM
I have seen many borrower have collateral in Alt for a certain amount of loan in BTC. I dont understand, why do they take loan at all? I mean, with so many exchanges around, is it difficult to convert an Alt to BTC, that you may need in near future? Please pardon my ignorance in this regard.
60  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Paxful or LocalBitcoins? Which one is better and why? on: March 14, 2019, 01:45:39 PM
IMHO, LocalEthereum.com is better than both.
