Not sure if you checked the whole list on first page. In explanatory vid section you can find a lot of links for people new to bitcoin.

Oh my god, I had no idea they collected that amount of money and ripped off Bitcoin100 too. That's about $25,000 at today's exchange rate and about $50,000 when they collected it. I'd say that deserves some negative trust or the immediate delivery of a damn good documentary! Assuming coins where sold at daily lows same day they were withdrawn it sums up to roughly 16500$. (estimated with bitstamp price history. donation wallet: https://blockchain.info/address/1MuNPrfNMho5UP9312m3idzauwaCi57fLe) That said if they sold same day... How much money do you need?
To make this movie as awesome as it can get, we need to collect about 10.000 EUR or 13.000 USD in BTC.
With this money we can traveler to conferences, developers, entrepreneurs and miners all over the world!
If we get less then that, the movie will still be cool, but not as many interesting people and places will be in it, so yeah, if this
documentation shall reflect the international concentrated power of the Bitcoin project, we need to raise those funds!
What happens with the money left over?
If there will be any funds left over after the project is finished, the final movie produced, all DVDs and Thank-You gifts made and shipped, all festivals applied to and all television networks mailed, all open positions cleared and accounted for, then eventually left over funds will be distributed among the makers of this movie and/or towards the next project, possibly a mixture between those two. A corresponding agreement will be published in time.
Can I use your movie for my own project?
Yes! You will be fully able to utilize every bit and piece of what we release for your personal, corporate or otherwise oriented projects! Everything will be released under a free-to-use license to enable maximum freedom. You can publish, edit, sell, delete or do whatever you want with everything you find among our footage! Please see the license agreements for further information, once we have decided which one suits this project best.
Anyone received Thank-You cards so far? I pmed Spekulatius to post an honest update on project status. If he doesn't answer or post next time he logs in - negative trust rating should be considered. He could at least publish the footage as promised so other people can try their best to make a short doc out of it. here's german page of his media school for the project: http://projekte.mediacampus-ilmenau.de/projects/view/172Maybe I give his instructor a call and ask wtf is going on if Spekulatius shows no reaction. He seemed like a nice guy when I contacted him last year and offered my help so I want to give him at least a chance to explain. _______________________________________________________________________________ ____________ keep up the good work mate.!! thanks.! thanks for the flowers Rise and Rise of Bitcoin gets dropped on itunes tomorrow right? How many of you are going to buy it?
I'll definitively buy DVD and perhaps a shirt, don't like the altered logo on it though. ( http://bitcoindoc.com/store) Thats great! Looking forward to this one. More and more of these will come out. I mean we havent even touched on the overall system this will come to offer. +1 +2 I'm still waiting for release date of "Life on Bitcoin" which seems much more mainstream oriented and could spread like a wildfire with a good marketing campaign.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=37537Name: Spekulatius Posts: 2273 Activity: 994 Position: Legendary Date Registered: August 06, 2011, 08:06:53 PM Last Active: October 01, 2014, 12:14:56 PM I went out on a limb and authorized a $1,000 USD via BTC donation from Bitcoin100 to help them produce this documentary. sorry to hear that, esp with such an amount of money. so far i don't want to call it a scam, but it seems like after the last bubble the team simply didn't care about the project anymore. what really aggravates me is spekulatius not responding in any way after such a long time. One could at least expect a status report what happened with the whole thing. I mean they got nearly 70 btc in donations during 2013! edit: send him a pm and bump his thread. at some point he must take a stand. last measure would be negative trust rating but i wouldn't go that far atm.

A few more days until the Rise and Rise of Bitcoin finally drops for public consumption right? This film had so much hype back when it was at Tribeca Film Festival or whatever... I am still interested in seeing it though. I will probably purchase a copy just to support (even though I can't imagine watching it more than once)..
yep, release will be 10th October. I also plan to purchase a dvd for my collection even though the movie is outdated. It's a pity that post production for feature-length movies simply takes too long to keep up with this fast-paced economy.

"Bitcoin - The Documentary"STATUS: In productionProject start: March 2013 Deadline: unknown (last update: 18 Jan 2014) Thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=149892.0It's been a while for this one and I'll remove it from the list now. No updates for 9 months and I'm sick of the team showing no sign of life at all. Please don't donate to this project until further updates!!!

bump...so no update for 9 months!!! nice to see you posting on several altcoin threads since then, spekulatius. and you're also still accepting donations in your signature. The following steps to take are to produce a quality teaser that uses our material and showcases what the final movie could look like and to seal a deal with some professional studio to do the editing and post production which lays ahead and will hopefully be finalized by late Spring next year.
Notice: This project started March 2013 and since then nothing but a trailer and some pics have shown up.
I strongly disadvise donating coins until further updates. edit: project also removed from documentary list.

so much litter, time for some perfection: Rossi Street., St. Petersburg. Its width and height are identical (22m) with a length exactly ten times as long (220m). This look very cool ,nice picture. looks even more amazing at night, it was build between 1828 and 1834.

nice, i put it up the list, definitively a good watch, i'd love to so see more of these guys. also a nice distribution model, let's hope people won't just download via torrent but also spend some coins.

Is there a documentary on the internet somewhere or the torrent maybe? If yes, can someone post it?
depends what you're looking for. see list on first page for all available content. the first feature-length documentary "Rise and Rise of Bitcoin" will be released 10th October on vimeo and itunes. (preorder: http://bitcoindoc.com/store) i'm sure a torrent will show up eventually but i will not be the one to seed it or post the links on this thread. Sometimes you should choose wisely what you want to consume for free and what is actually worth supporting with your wallet. If you have the coins for an android tablet, i'm sure watering little plants from time to time doesn't take too much effort.

..mentioning that you're female is always met with distrust and naturally considered as bait in a userbase where majority is male, hetero and got used to scammers. btw stuff like r/girlsgonebitcoin and history of several supposedly female users in here manifested the golddigger prejudice even more.
I know the majority is male, but everyone needs to make an effort to let us participate, the first step being non alienating us when we join. We need to kill that golddigger prejudice ASAP, for good. Donations are fine, everyone's free to spend their btc anyway they please, and I'm not even against those guys going on girlsgonebitcoin getting naked pics in exchange for btc, boys will be boys (although a bit dumb to part with their hard earned btc when they can get naughty pics from pretty much every girl on tumblr for free. Guys, take note!). I just want everyone to sort of understand that girls involved with btc doesn't necessarily mean they are beggers, scammers, or taking naked pics, some of us are nice girls who don't like being associated with that sort of behaviour. i agree that shouting scamalert when a user mentions being female is an overreaction (must feel quite discriminating, esp as a newbie), and that conditioned "safety function" adressed at warning inexperienced users came too hasty in your case. imo this should only take effect when a user is actually asking for coins. but besides that no further steps are needed. what would you tell someone who asks for efforts to let LGBTs participate? this is an anonymous forum and as hilariousco mentioned gender and also age/origin/religion/sexual orientation should be irrelevant, everybody contributes however she/he wants. so don't be bothered by the initial distrust, you seem like the rare and needed cases for community to reconsider position and handle this subject a bit more sensitive. Have some friendly hugs and enjoy reading & posting here.
