These are features I can access for free, without spending money, on telegram itself. You guys simply forked Telegram, modified a few lines of code and called it innovation and yet what you did is no different from all the worthless $hitcoins on Bitcointalk. All this stuff about sending coins on Gems are not valid points because nobody is really using crypto and those who are primarily holding it. If I need to send coins to somebody I simply ask for their address, not " oh please install Telegram, CounterParty and GEMs in that order" (lmao at this unnecessary complication). Even if you just say just download Gems only. I can send coins out to any BTC address before the Gems download and installation is even completed. This is all just a MLM scheme. No one needs Gems when in 2-3 years there will be multiple free apps. The first alt (Gemz) related project being easy and incentive enough for the non tech savy users. Something which 99.9% of other Cryptos are failing at.
Here is what is genius about GetGems: It managed to close the loop from getting new users -> earning Gems -> spending it, in one app. What's more genius is that it has managed to do it in such a simplistic way that every non nech savy person at whatever age would understand it. This is the dream of every alt and i haven't seen literally any other alts succeeding in this. And the best part is that its killer feature hasn't been released yet, using this app just makes sense, a big player is stepping in this game.
This gives me a headache. The last thing any normal person would want... Is more complexity in their life, like, let's make buying a cup of coffee some sort of smartphone MLM scheme. The spreadsheet and browser were killer apps... So far there has been nothing remotely "killer" about any app related to crypto. In fact, even Bitcoin itself has proven to be tame and non-disruptive. If Bitcoin mattered, Windows 8 and 10 would have a slick BTC wallet built-in... The way IE was bundled with Windows 98... because the new WWW was in fact disruptive. So then what you are saying is that crypto is to complex for the normal person? |

It's all a fork of telegram and the sad thing was it was a bait and switch (a form of fraud) to get to that too, only after Peled collected everyone's money did he pull the fraud on the cryptocurrency community. Actually I don't think that fraud really matters much. People get screwed over everyday in crypto that they simply stopped caring. You guys pretend like you invented slice beard but there's many alternates with their own mobile clients and soon-to-be mobile apps. If having a mobile app was proprietary to just Gems then I would had bought it, as would many others and Gems would be #3 be now, but lettuce beef cereal: in about two-three years mobile apps are going to be commonplace on these forums and I don't think Gems will be able to compete with them. If your developers didn't have the skill to create their own app, and had to fork telegram, then they're probably going to be left behind in the dust when the mobile developers start cranking out professional product with new code. Name another app that: Send Btc Send another crypto (both of which to send all I need to do is send someone a text saying "10 BTC" or "10 Gems") and it arrives has fast has a text. Is getgems the only multifunctional app in de crypto space? I don't think there is an app combining an instant messenger, reward model, sending money and shopping in a functional app, is getgems the only 'all in one' app?
I have spent alot of time looking at other apps and so far I haven't found one that has even half the features of Gems (If you look closely at the wallet pics there is a feature which hasn't been mentioned yet  ). The potential for this is huge! |

Great work, but is the extreme data (and battery btw) usage of the Gems application already solved?
I had to deinstall the app and it has not been on my phone ever since, but I would like to download the app as soon as it is solved. The difference is enormous. My battery lasts twice as long and I don't use an extra 70 mb of data per day. Last month, Gems took 2GB of data which is way too much imo.
The issue you are having is one of those random bugs, it seems to be only affecting certain phones, I use a LG G3 and don't see this problem. The dev is working hard on the issue and given what he has done so far I'm sure it will be fixed. A week ago there was a new release, maybe give that a shot and is if you still have the problem. |

The updated Gems wallet is awesome, there are more features on the Android wallet then the ISO one but both are very good.
The wallet has features that non-crypto users can use:
private messaging where you can set a timer so messages are erased from the devices
group chat
send pics, files, gifs, audio

btw i have the majority of my gemz on the old passphrase at counterwallet, can i just send them to the GG app or doesn't it work since it uses now the new passphrase?
You can send the Gemz from your counterwallet to your GG app, myself and others have done this, it might take some time for them to show up in your GG wallet due to counterparty's block times. You can even send them back to your counterwallet later on if you wanted to. But the Gemz on counterwallet is on my old passphrase and the GG app uses the new passphrase, doesn't that matter in sending from counterwallet to gg? nope it doesn't matter, the Gems app is off-chain, it has nothing to do with the counterparty wallet. You can send Gems from your counterparty wallet and yoy also can send Gems from the app to counterparty. Yesterday I sent some Gems from my counterparty wallet to my Gems app with no problems, another member of the Troll Box sent some Gems from his app to the counterparty wallet so he could use them on the counterparty market. |

Seems like there was some kind of update today. Personally I'm having no joy registering the app still.
Can you post some details about your problems? What's happening, what kind of phone, the version of OS is has, this will help the devs find the problem. |

Just to feedback, I'm having all kinds of problems downloading and opening the new Android version.
At the moment its pushing me past the page to enter my user name, and then it is adding the pin I enter to my username, therefore invalid.
If you have time can you please send a detailed email on the problems you are having to support@getgems.org? Thank you. I'm sure they know of the issue. On google play the last handful of reviews have said the new version is looping and not opening. I don't understand how this happens when you have testers? There is only a small group of testers with a limited number of phones to test on, each brand of phone can have different bugs. The people in the beta has far as I know have been mainly bug free. I'm sure it will be a easy fix but since it is the weekend in Israel it might take a day or two. Edit: I only see three people on Google Play with that problem. |

That app sounds like it's pretty buggy, rushing an app to market with bugs is tough to overcome. Gems is on the right path with lots of beta testing. Don't worry, the party hasn't started yet  |

@ nextgencoin are you in one of the beta testing groups? Is pretty handy to be part of, the developers are pretty active there where we can communicate with them.
I guess I worry that even good avenues of discussion can end up hidden from the majority, a popular thread on this forum is seen by thousands, less chance of that in a closed group however open it is. I won't connect to Google+ cause I don't like Google and is known to provide backdoors to the NSA, its a principle thing. I guess I should connect to the Android testing but I don't see any problem sharing here to be honest. There is also a user chat room which anyone can join all they need to do is install the GetGems app for their device (the beta version is NOT required) and post their Gems username here and they will be added. Lots of information is on there as well it gets people to use the app. Google+ is only need if you want to submit bug reports there but bugs can also be reported in the app. Most threads on this forum turn into FUD fights and name calling, when people see that it turns them off. |
