You can send the Gemz from your counterwallet to your GG app, myself and others have done this, it might take some time for them to show up in your GG wallet due to counterparty's block times. You can even send them back to your counterwallet later on if you wanted to.

Buying GEMZ and BTC would be more than enough, and I would hope you'd focus on the 'attention economy' features long before trying anything like that.

You say buying Gems and BTC is more than enough but users must have incentives to buy Gems and since the app is focused on the average person you won't find many who are gonna buy Gems to hold, they would want to spend and thats the dream of every Crypto and GG gives them different options in spending the Gems they earn or buy. Buying Gems for ads and to shop in a simple to use app gives more demand than only buying Gems for ads, apart from that you attract a different audience aswell. Maybe some aren't very interested in buying ads but interested in buying gift cards or other purchases with Gems easily from the app.

The attention economy is THE feature of the app, but that shouldn't stop the team to introduce more innovative features with a real world purpose (which you don't really find in other alts). Maybe the team can highlight the attention economy button if you will more in the app to make statement that this is the top feature of the app, but a simple to use shop in a simple to use app is a cool extra. I can imagine a Thread with the title, "So you like Telegram? Now you are able to shop and send money in the app, made possible by GetGems"

I would like to hear something about the vision for the shop as it's not really been mentioned from the beginning. Are we talking selling Gems Tshirts/ stickers etc or a fully inbuilt commerce eBay site....or somewhere in the middle?

Having something to buy that's tangible to many average users is more important than we think. It's was the first question I was asked recently when describing the app.

nope it doesn't matter, the Gems app is off-chain, it has nothing to do with the counterparty wallet. You can send Gems from your counterparty wallet and yoy also can send Gems from the app to counterparty.  Yesterday I sent some Gems from my counterparty wallet to my Gems app with no problems, another member of the Troll Box sent some Gems from his app to the counterparty wallet so he could use them on the counterparty market.

Probably something in the middle, you wouldn't want a website for the shop, it all should be in the app where everything is within reach when using the app.

Probably something in the middle, you wouldn't want a website for the shop, it all should be in the app where everything is within reach when using the app.

In Asia many young people espeCialy females live on their mobile devices which are definitely getting bigger. Some phones I'm seeing are as big as tablets. My point is some of these kids are having their entire media life through these things, I would never think to watch a movie or really listen to music on my phone but they do and rarely do they ever use a desktop. I think in Asia young people tend to live with parents far later and like the privacy that their mobile gives them even more than in the West. I'm seeing most banking done on them even.

so my point is a whole ecosystem is possible, there isn't really a limit, movies, music, shopping etc. Amd you never need to go to desktop.

If you read through, you will understand that GetGems is set to be a REAL WORLD APPLICATION. that's Phase 3: Social - Companies increasing bitcoin adoption and liquidity through social network and content platform virality. And GetGems is the first one to have come this far. I only hope GetGems doesn't have any hiccups along the way as it continues to be developed with all the features that have been planned out for it.

I had to deinstall the app and it has not been on my phone ever since, but I would like to download the app as soon as it is solved. The difference is enormous. My battery lasts twice as long and I don't use an extra 70 mb of data per day. Last month, Gems took 2GB of data which is way too much imo.

The issue you are having is one of those random bugs, it seems to be only affecting certain phones, I use a LG G3 and don't see this problem. The dev is working hard on the issue and given what he has done so far I'm sure it will be fixed. A week ago there was a new release, maybe give that a shot and is if you still have the problem.
